| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. The smile vanished from her face, showing a apathetic, cold face, different from Junes normally warm and kind. She clenched and unclenched her fists, "No. That is not true at all," She stared at her shoes, "I have absolutely nothing to do with him," No, you don't, Junie, he doesn't care, you were just a thing to toy around with for a while, why are you so insistent on making it so much more? "Why would I?"Lies, lies, lies, Junie. They're going to suffocate you sooner or later, you'll be trapped in your own spin of lies, fall to the very grave you dug, June hated her mind, and tried to shut it out, shut away the little voice. She took on her most innocent smile, her sweetest eyes, plastered them on as a mask, "Shall we talk about something else? Please?" She put on her puppy eyes, and felt a sick pleasure run into her veins when she knew she was pretty sure of getting her will. June's puppy eyes were almost irresistible, she had perfected them, "Now, why are you so interested in how my dream boy looks, and if I have a boyfriend?" "Hm?" June tilted her her forward, looking up at him with the same begging, innocent puppy eyes. June rarely used them, but right now, she needed Aiden to forget, and she needed him too get to a new topic, she didn't want to talk about Abe. |

Oh, a touchy subject, then. Aiden already had plans of dropping it as soon as he saw June's face when he had brought it up. He wondered then if maybe Halifax had hurt her in some way. Now that was not acceptable. But she didn't want to talk about it anymore, and so he didn't ask. And those eyes. Oh, she didn't have to throw in the eyes. He would have moved on without them. Now he just felt bad for her, for some reason. Hands going back into his pockets, he listened to what she asked, but avoided her eyes. They were just too much. "Well," he started, thinking of exactly why he was so curious. He'd already found out that he was not her type, and so had pretty much given up an getting anything out of her other than that one kiss and a good friendship. "First, it was all because you were cute. Second was more that I was curious. And third, I didn't want to get beat up by your boyfriend, should you have had one." Not that he was ever the type to just lie down and get beat up, but he'd leave his stories of fights out of this conversation. For another day, maybe. |

"All because I was cute? Was that why you bought be out to catch some fresh air?" June's jaw fell, but quickly turned into a smirk, "Thats the first time I hear that one," She returned to her normal grin, with normal eyes, if one could say June had a 'normal' smile, June had a million of 'normal' smiles, everyone different. Now, when he mentioned curiosity, June remembered their little game. Who could make the other more embarrased? Who had said it was over? She looked at him, and suddenly knew exactly what she wanted to do, what would most probably embarrass him the most. With sneaky moves, she came closer, circling around him. She showed the tips of her teeth while she smirked, as if she was plotting something evil. Once she was very, very close, she looked up at him, and her smile broke across her face, Before he had time to think, June flung her arms around him, standing on her tiptoes to reach up. She hugged him. For a while, she just stood there, squeezing him, before she turned her head ever so slightly, and whispered into his ear, "Thanks again though, you're so nice, even though its mostly since I'm cute." Now, June wasn't certain it would embarrass him, but his reaction would be fun none the less. He couldn't ignore it... |

"Really? The first time you've heard it?" Aiden asked, not believing it one bit. Maybe this girl's self esteem was lower than he thought. That was no good! But, what she did then proved that theory completely wrong. Anyone with a low self esteem wouldn't get that close and smile like that and..was she coming on to him? It made him slightly nervous. He was always the one that made the moves. The girl wasn't supposed to do that! He watched her smile, trying to figure out just what she was doing. And then, before he realized what the hell she was doing, he found himself being hugged and exlaiming, "Woah!" He almost stumbled backwards, but kept his balence. His eyes were wide as she whispered in his ear. Yeah, he was sure she was coming on to him now, after he'd already given up on her. What strange occurance was this! "Er, Pyjama, you feeling alright?" he asked once he'd finally found words. He pulled both his hands out of his pockets and did the ony thing he could really think of doing, and that was pat her on the back. He felt very awkard, and that was an understatement. |

June let go, a frown on her face, "Aw," she exclaimed, letting her arms drop to her sides, "I was so sure it was going to work, but..." She playfully stomped her foot to the ground, half laughing, half sincerely disappointed. With a sigh, she muttered, "How am I supposed to get my revenge if NOTHING embarrasses you. I was so certain this was going to at least get you pink shade," She looked at him, eyebrow raised, "Yeah, of course I'm fine," She fixed her shirt, sighing, "I guess I'll have to give up though, trying to get you embarrassed is impossible," She took off the scarf, not feeling that cold anymore. She handed the end to him, before walking closer to the water, stooping down to touch it. The water was freezing, and she quickly pulled her hand to her, "How does the Giant Squid survive down there?" with a laugh, she turned to Aiden, "you know, I've always been scared of the lake," She splashed some water out, watching it hit the dark, bluegreen surface of the lake, "I heard there were merpeople there, who'd kill me. I used to have nightmares that someone pushed me into it, and that I drowned, and the merpeople only pulled me down, and..." June closed her eyes, seeing it for her, before shaking it off, "That was in the first year, before everything started happening. Jenny, Justin, Jamie, we were still friends, and joked around, and... Now, now Jenny hates my guts, the very person I am, and the very person I represent. Justin and Jamie have disapeared into thin air," she sighed. "I used to love Jenny, I'd follow after her big eyed, I'd try be exactly like her, and I stood infront of the mirror trying to make my hair exactly like hers. My biggest worry was that she might get mad at me," June looked at her reflection, "and now, now I'm afraid for my life, but even more for other peoples. I wish I didn't know so much, that... It was still grown-up stuff, that I didn't need to care," June pulled her knees into her, resting her head on it, "sorry for that, you know how it is. Unlock one memory, and it all comes back," She turned to Aiden, smiling, "You remind me of a brother, you know, you tease a lot, but you're still fun, and the most important, there to support me," |

Aiden took the scarf, wrapping it around his neck. They were the wrong house colors, and normally he would have made a stink about it, but now he was just too chilly to care. His hands went back into his pockets and he watched June sit by the lake, touching the water. It must have been cold. And the squid? "I don't really know...he's a trooper, though," he replied, thinking of how it must be, living in that lake. And what about the merpeople that she talked about? He'd heard the same rumor, but how did they live in such cold waters? Listening to her story about her siblings, he thought. "So, you're the quad of the school, huh?" he asked when she was done. He'd heard there was one set, but he'd never actually talked to any of them. When he heard her talk about how he was like a brother, he couldn't help but laugh. "You really don't want me for a brother," he told her, rubbing his shoulder and squatting down next to her, looking at the water. His expression had gone serious. She'd told him about her siblings, so he supposed he should return the favor. "I'm already a brother, after all. A damn terrible one, too, and I know it," he started, thinking about the last time he'd been around his brother. That was the morning before he got on the train to Hogwarts for his fifth year. "Dechlan and I were close once, when we were really little. And then I realized I was stronger than him. He can still put up a good fight, though." He rubbed the scar on his knee through his pants. "We can hardly be in the same room together without beating the snot out of eachother. Sometimes I think it's all Dad's fault for never being there..." Shaking his head, he stopped. That was enough. If he went on, he'd start bragging about all the fights he'd won against his brother. The most recent being one where they had both ended up toppling down the stairs in a giant mass of boy. "Yeah, I'll be here to support you, but don't go callin' me your brother. I treat my friends much better than that." He laughed it all off, wanting to change the subject from siblings. Or just family in general. Pets! Pets were good. He wanted a pet. Maybe one of these days he'd get one. "You have a pet here at school?" he asked, looking over at June. |

"Yes, with a mother with a 'J' obsession,'" June laughed to herself, "Dad freaked out when he found out, not weird though," June wiped her fingers off on her skirt, sighing. With a apologetic smile, June muttered a, "No, I guess I have enough siblings". She relaxed, listening to him talk, leaning back. June looked at her feet, imagining Aiden beating a mini Aiden. It scared her, yet, at the same time made her feel safer. She knew she couldn't put up a fight worth a penny, and to be honest, June liked that, "I'm the baby sister, I always come out worst in quarrels, and sure, I won't call you my brother," "Pets? Not anymore, I used to have a cat named Muffins, but we gave it away to some distant aunt," June remembered stuffing the poor cat into a pram, scorning it for being such a fuss. With a laugh, the hufflepuff said, "I was a bad owner though, I carried it all the time, and one time it tried to escape, so I decided to help him, and ended up throwing him right into a chair," June giggled at the memory, "Poor Muffins," |

The briefing tent sat near the edge of the Forbidden Forest where the task was due to take place. The tent itself was grant in stature and was swaying ever so slightly in the breeze. Inside were three sectioned off areas, one for each champion to be alone with their thoughts before and after each task. It was empty but in a short while the Champions would be there as would the various Officials to tell them what the task entailed. |

"At least he landed on a chair!" Aiden said, chuckling slightly at the image of a flying cat. He knew he probably shouldn't be laughing at that, but it was funny, and he couldn't help himself. One hand patting the ground, he found a nice, flat rock. Perfect. He tossed it out with a flick of his wrist, watching as it skipped across the surface of the lake twice before disappearing in the water. Not his best, but at least it wasn't a dud. "Hey, Pyjama, it's gotten pretty late...what do you think is going on right now?" he asked. Even though most of the time, he pretended not to care, he didn't really want to miss out on anything. If they should be getting back to the castle to get ready to head and watch the first task, he didn't want to be left behind. |

She looked away, and whispered, "Not on, in. Face-smack right into the back of a chair..." June giggled, Muffins hadn't liked it, but it was so hilarious to see. She looked at the rock skip across the shiny dark surface. "How do you do that?" June flicked back her hair, and picked up a pebble. She tried to mimic what he did, but the rock just fell right into the abyss of the lake, without skipping once. "I don't know, but the first task should be starting soon, how come?" |

"My mistake," Aiden said, sounding pretty serious this time. A cat flying was pretty funny. A cat ramming its face into the back of a chair wasn't quite as funny. Infact, he winced at the thought of it. Looking over, he heard June ask about the rock skipping. "Oh, it's pretty easy. I'll teach you in a few minutes." He wanted to stay squatted for a little while longer. "Well, I'm actually pretty interested in seeing this first tast," he then said, looking back at the lake. "You know...just curious to see what it is, and all." He also didn't really want to be the only one not there. Finally, with a stretch, he stood up again. "Alright, up! I'm going to teach you how to skip rocks." He then proceeded to bend over and look along the ground, trying to find a nice flat one. When he did, he picked it up and held it between his thumb and forefinger. That would be a good one to teach her with. Edited by Aiden Minami, Aug 3 2009, 12:48:15 PM.

Wiping some grass off her black skirt, June smiled at Aiden before leaning her hands towards the ground, pushing herself up. Turning towards him, the Hufflepuff's face sighed, "I'll feel bad though, I should teach you something in return, but there's not a lot I know how to do well," June tried list them up in her mind, Ice skate, be nice... blushing... Making food.... Drawing stupid doodles, dancing, she couldn't see how Aiden would want to learn any of that. "Ok, how do I do this?" |

Having left the Great Hall as quickly as humanly possible Chester had retreated to the the grounds of surrounding the castle. For some reason the hall had become increasingly overpopulated, perhaps more students than he had imagined had been up studying last night like him? No, they had probably just overslept for the simple pleasure of it. "Oh well, I can't blame them." Part of him wished that he was still in bed behind the curtains drawn around him with nothing to bother him aside from the other boys he shared his dorm with. Of course they tended to shun him from their conversations, just as well, he had a feeling that he would butt heads with them on quite a few subjects if he could tell anything from his eavesdropping. On occassion they would begin discussing what they deemed as "lesser" races and Chester would silently fume behind the curtains of his bed. That's why he enjoyed the Hogwarts grounds. They were so expansive that it was unlikely you would come across anyone you didn't want to see, he would often come out here andd just vent all his frustrations by walking around the grounds in a large arc, hoping to hear a mournful croak come form the direction of the owelry. As he thought of the owelry he stopped and looked over in it's direction, maybe he'd hear it today. "Too bad it doesn't look like rain." |

Collin mosied onto the grounds, breakfast muffin in hand. He ran a hand through his hair, checking that it looked fine again. It always did, though. He wondered where Sawyer had gotten to, she had said they'd finish their conversation after breakfast... Oh well, even he couldn't have everything. He started out onto the grounds, occasionally taking a bite of his muffin or winking at the fourth and fifth years that he caught staring, causing them to turn to each other in a fit of giggles and whispers. "Did you see? He looked at me!" "He winked at me." Ahh, how Collin loved to tease. Although he could be serious when he flirted, like with Sawyer... He shook his head as he spotted a fellow Slytherin near him. He walked over carefully, and stood beside him. He didn't know him, just that he was in Slytherin House. Figured he may as well. "Hey," he said, not bothering to introduce himself. Most of Slytherin already knew who he was, anyway, based solely on his looks. "What's up?" he asked, finishing up his muffin, eyes still on the surrounding girls. |

"Not much, the sky, clouds." Lovely, a fellow slytherin had come walking up to him. He could already see how the conversation would play out, but he'd be damned if he'd let that stand in his way. Who knows, maybe the conversation wouldn't follow the same direction as it always did. Admittedly this was highly unlikely to happen, but one could always hope. "Judging by the muffin I expect you just came from breakfast? Interesting this morning, what with people being set on fire and whatnot." That was probably the most interesting thing that had happened this morning. Well that and the increasing feeling of claustrophobia as the hall seemed to fill more and more students. It was probably just the amount of Beaubaxton and Durmstrang students which had made the hall seem so tight. That paired with the excitement of the upcoming tournament had been enough to push Chester out after barely reading the article of the dark lord's escape. |

Collin looked back at his fellow Slytherin, studying him carefully. No, he definitely didn't know this kid. Best to get to know him, though, right? Collin laughed at the Slytherin's remark on the fire. "Oh, well, he was asking for it," he said, shaking his head. "Everyone should know not to mess with someone with such a reputation as Precious," he said, "Unless you're well known yourself" he added. "Or attractive enough to get into her inner circle," he said with a smirk. Okay, well, he wasn't really in her inner circle, but he knew her, so he had to be in some kind of circle, right? Was there such a thing as an outer circle? |

"I suppose he was, I would have let him slide though as it was his first time doing anything like that." Truth was that he'd let him slide regaurdless of how many times he did it, but there was no reason to kill the conversation yet by sharing his views. He mulled over the bit where he had said something about being well known or attractive enough to be in her inner circle. That was the sort of thing he despised, when you put yourself above others you were more than likely to make everyone outside of your 'circle' feel like crap. He had once watched a young muggle girl he knew back home starve herself in order to hang out with a particular group of people. When she stopped starving herself she was thrown out of the group, that was what happened when people had an inner circle. Good thing I'm not well known or attractive enough. Even if he was he doubted that he would ever hang out with that crowd. "I'm almost glad I blend in with the background." |

Collin side glanced at the other Slytherin. He didn't even want to be well known? Now that Collin just couldn't understand. Still, he assumed it made sense. Assumed. He could understand in a way. Not wanting the hassle of keeping up your reputation. Although, on occasion, it wasn't really a hassle, but enjoyable. He stretched, yawning. Aiden handed the rock over to June, saying, "Don't worry about it, having a good time is enough in return." He really didn't need to learn anything new. All he already wanted to learn was being taught to him through school. Anything else, he'd just learn through esperience. He was content with that. He stopped his thoughts about learning and focused on teaching. He bent down to find another flat-ish rock, then stood up again. "So, you're standing because it's easier to do while standing," Aiden explained. "Now, turn your body so your non-dominant side is towards the lake. Hold the rock between your thumb and forefinger like this. Flick your wrist towards the lake, and let it go!" As he was explaining, he followed each step himself. This, in turn, sent the rock skipping out over the water, eventually sinking with a quiet plink. He looked to June to see her try, wondering if she could get it on her first try. Most of the learning process for skipping rocks was just practice. |

Putting her hair behind her ears, June wished she had put it in a much more convenient ponytail instead. Immediately afterwards, she turned her left side towards the water, before kneeling down to pick a rock. Taking the first and best stone she saw, the Hufflepuff hoped it would do the job. Resting the stone between her fingers, June rubbed her thumb against the smooth, cold surface of the rock. Allowing her thoughts to wander, she wondered what it was like if she managed it. For a second, she believed she could, that she would be able to watch the stone skip along the surface of the ice cold lake, the white rock contrasting with the great dark green shade of the lake. Once she realized what she was thinking, she scolded herself. She was jinxing her luck, June ought to have known better than to dream of success the first, well, actually second try. June ought to know by now that she wasn't the type for success, she was the type who tried, and tried again. In secrecy, until she managed it. Looking down at her now muddy shoes, June remembered that she hadn't been doing that lately. She'd become prone to giving up once she had too much against her. Now she was disappointed with herself. Was she some wimp of a straw, who broke at the smallest of gusts, and never dared raise herself up again? Well, in the name of merlin, June was no oak, standing rigid in even the worst of storms, but she could at least be a little less of... Whatever she was, and do like she did when she was younger. Never give up, but keep trying until she either managed it, or failed so catastrophically that she, or someone else got hurt, and other matters became more pressing. While beginning to flick her wrist, June felt almost as the rock was the reason for all her problems, and she wanted to get it as far away as possible. Drown it in the depths of the lake, where she'd never, ever see it again. She was going to manage it. She was going to show the world for once that June could. She was going to show Aiden, show the sun and the merpeople. Heck, she'd even show the Giant Squid that she, June Brooks, was going to manage it. She let go. Watched the rock zoom through the air like a broom, before landing in the water with a plop!. Yet, right now, June didn't feel like she'd failed. Instead, she was grinning like there was no tomorrow, or like someone had put a cheering charm on her, before she broke into giggles. "I-" she stuttered between giggles, holding her hand infront of her mouth, as if to stop it, "-I am such a-" June took a deep breath to stop the giggles, "-Sorry! Its just so funny, I was so sure that I could do it and just plop! Fail." June had just had a moment deeper than the lake, just to watch it fall apart, and she wasn't even grumpy, "You must think I'm a psycho, but it is in my genes... Jenny used to be rather... Oh well, can you help me find another rock? I want to try again!" Thats the good ol' June. |
