Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Seventh Year. Lori rocks! But srsly, Morgan is the best! I love Malynne! But not as much as I LOVE ANNA AND LORI. BUT MORGAN STILL PWNS THEM ALL, THE END. I love Meg she is so awesome and epic. Did I mention how silly Jess is?

Dave yawned widely as the Gryffindor boy came over and attempted to "make his mark", catching his arm by the wrist with his left hand as the boy reached out to touch his face.

"Don't," Dave simply said unemotionally, raising an eyebrow. He squeezed Oscar's wrist with the tips of his fingers before letting it go, returning his own hand to Precious'. It caught him by surprise that Oscar actually had the nerve to stand up to Precious, but then again, he really didn't know that he was tickling the dragon's tail. And to have the nerve to reach out and try to touch him. "I know I'm hot and everything, but I'm only for looking, not touching. Maybe you should go hit on those cute Hufflepuff boys over there," he retorted, nodding his head toward a group of first years at the Hufflepuff table.

"Hmm," Dave said with a grin as the boy left, acting as if nothing had happened. "That's what I thought." Dave looked down at Precious and rubbed her side with the arm that was still around her, as she seemed to be visibly shaken by the encounter. "Man, some people just don't have a f*cking clue, do they? Ah well, no harm done, but maybe we'll get him later, but it looks like Bella already has it handled," Dave said, howling with laughter as she appeared to light Oscar's shirt on fire.

OOC: Dave doesn't know about Fera's elementium, so all he saw was Bella pointing her wand at him, so he assumes it's her.

Constanta entered the hall and sat down at the Slytherin table, bored, to fill her plate. She hadn't slept well, wracked with anxiety as usual about her inevitable transformation. She never knew the exact night it would happen, but her fear was somewhat lessened now that she was regularly taking Wolfsbane. Still, she was learning not to wear her emotions on her sleeve so much anymore. She kept an expression of disinterest on her face as she chewed her food, surveying the rest of the hall.

With things heating up in Slytherin, she felt the need to keep herself in a position of power ever more acutely. She would need to keep her eyes open, her nails sharpened, and her magic practiced.

Her muscles tensed when the simple three letters met her ears. P. A. Y. The threat itself imposed no threat, but that very word reminded her of... Details. When thinking over it, Fera was actually glad for the Martial Law, it meant that she had to stay at Hogwarts, and to be honest, she didn't know where else to go.

Her voice was strained while she leaned forward to explain how threats should be made, or perhaps she was intending to tell him to piss off. The redhead could not remember, since she never got to say it. The vain arse of a boy stormed out, and Fera just sighed, before taking the first year's, who she'd previously stolen the newspaper of, newly poured pumpkin juice, draining the cup of the thick liquid.

"Black," the word slithered off her tongue, "Is it possible for me to meet you under two eyes once, I think both you and I might want to know more about...?" Fera hated herself for proposing it, but in light of her situation, Fera wanted to know as much as possible, even if it meant speaking to the lunatic Bellatrix Black. Adjusting her position, she smirked, "Yet, I don't feel like spending another second in this room, think about it, and just tell one of the ghosts, or the portraits," Letting her anger out had helped, but Fera wasn't to waste her time in a stuffy room.

Without another word, she handed the first year back his cup, before leaving, hearing the distant "Why me?".

"Well that was interesting to say the least."

He once again had his face hidden behind the prophet reading more of the breakout. Of course it was not as if he couldn't hear several arguments coming and going between members of Slytherin and Gryffindor, then again he'd become used to it as it always seemed they were the warring factions. He had never cared much for the petty rivalry between the two houses which was the reason why he was not sitting with his house at the moment. Well that and he had never gotten along fabulously with some other member of Slytherin, clash of ideals and all that rot.

Note to self, don't bother girls that can start fires

Not that the thought would do him any good, most witches and wizards at this ag could easily start fires with their wands. You just needed to know the proper counter spells in order to keep them in check, but he didn't want to be intentionally set on fire.

He had no idea if Daniela was still sitting next to him, but it didn't matter really. He could sit here and enjoy the breakfast ambiance a little while longer before heading off to the owlery.

Addie seemed to have lost all excitement that she had before. Kane had said something, he knew it. He thought back to when last he spoke.... That was it! He had said that Addie was why the Aurors would be at the school. "Erm, I didn't mean it like that, Addie," he said, looking at the Gryffindor. "I was merely pointing out that, er... you are very well protected here, and nothing bad will happen to anybody while you're here. If it weren't for you and the other Elementium, we'd all be... well, Hogwarts would be in deep trouble." He paused for a moment. "Don't feel bad. In a sense, you're keeping us all protected!"

"Well Dave, it looks like my conceitedness has rubbed off on you," Precious observed with a sneer. The male version of Precious Hindert? Honestly, the couple of the year. She rose her eyebrows at Dave. "Wow Dave. I never knew you were so . . . cruel. Honestly, that was hot." she said, fanning herself. Her blue eyes followed the boy back to his seat and watched as Bella set his shirt on fire. She cackled evilly. Bella should be another follower in Precious' clique.

"Poor kid. Didn't know what he was doing. I almost feel bad for him. I oughta teach him to keep his hands to himself or someone will bite his hands off," Namely, me. "What has the world come to? He's supposed to be a my feet asking for forgiveness."

"What?" Dave asked, smiling at how pleased she seemed. "You didn't think I was just going to sit there and take that, did you? I know you've got a lot of bite to go with your bark, but so can I, if the time is right," he commented smugly, running his fingers through his hair. Dave rarely lashed out at people; he was generally very reserved and calm, but when it came to being publicly humiliated, anyone with half a spine would be apt to lash out. Or maybe a bit of Precious was just rubbing off on him in the same way that his down-to-earth attitude seemed to be infecting her, at least, from time to time.

"I don't pride myself on being an asshole, at least for the most part, but some people just rub me the wrong way," Dave explained. "And besides," he said, grinning at Precious. "If I start being a little more mean for the two of us, maybe it'll give you a chance to mellow out a bit."

"Not likely, though," Dave said with a laugh.

"Rub you in the wrong way? Like this?" Precious placed her hand on top of Dave's thigh and smirked. She was also a temptress. As many boys have said before. She laughed at Dave's comment. "Yeah, I'd like to see you try, Mr. McKelvey. Past flings and friends have all tried, all have failed." Lies. She remembered when she and James were in the forest, and there she had broken down and revealed her real self.

"But, if you were to be more of an asshole, well, that would just satisfy me in almost every way possible." she giggled at her own statement. "I mean, look at Julian Kahn. Almost every girl is lusting after him because of his bad boy attitude," Including me. "So it would probably be a change for the good."

Avery grinned at Cosette. "Oh, no. I'll be sure to think about it," she said with a grin. It was pretty obvious. She didn't necessarily mean she was head over heels in love but she at least liked him a little. She grinned again before standing up and stretching. She pushed her plate away.

"Well, I'm off to entertain myself before the task," she said with a yawn. "Feel free to tag along," she said with a smile. She waved at Cosette quickly before heading out of the Great Hall.

With little ceremony Chester folded the daily prophet and cast it back to where he had found it where it was promptly picked up by several first years, no doubt the original owners of the paper.

"Well I think I'd better be going."

He had no doubt overstayed his welcome at what he could only assume was the Gryffindor table. He knew this to be true because several other fifth years were glaring at him, he couldn't blame them. They had inherited old prejudices perpetuated by years of parental rivalries and the clashing of personalities.

"Goodbye."

He was speaking to no one in particular, or perhaps he was simply saying goodbye to the entire greathall. In any case had observed and met some interesting people. With a little skip in his step he quickly departed from the great hall.

Taking a bite, he strode from the Great Hall.

Addie frowned faintly, glancing over to Kane and nodding slightly. "Yeah... maybe. Thanks Kane.." She commented softly, glancing back down to her plate. At the very least, it wasn't like she was the only Elementium user. She wasn't the only one putting the school in danger...

If Azariah just wanted them, maybe he wouldn't target the whole school? Maybe he would just steal them away in the dead of the night. Not that she liked that idea, but it was better than other students and professors being involved.

Bellatrix watched Fera leave, her thoughts whirling--normally, Bella wouldn't even consider thinking about meeting someone like Fera...on the other hand, if the girl could help her learn to control her elementun better, perhaps it was worth it...

Thinking that she didn't have to make up her mind yet, Bella merely pushed her curls out of her face and looked around the table once more. After deciding that there wasn't anything else to amuse herself with, the Slytherin merely waved at a particuarly timid-looking second year (who looked terrified of Bellatrix, something that amused her greatly) and made her way out of the Great Hall.

Thielen entered the Great Hall, late, and a mess as usual. the long awaited first event was today, and he knew everyone else with sense in the Ravenclaw dorm had set their wands to alert them to wake early, but Thielen had neglected casting a tempus charm and instead, favored an old fashioned muggle clock with batteries. Just his luck that the batteries were also so old-fashioned, at least a month old, and out of power. So he had woken late, swore at his alarm clock, and padded down to breakfast in loose black pajama trousers and a gray t-shirt. He'd forgotten to change.

The Great Hall was mostly empty, and the plates were mostly empty, except when he finally managed to drag himself over on one foot to the Ravenclaw table, a plate obviously felt obligated enough and gave him a few limp pieces of bacon and an egg that was undoubtedly cold. Most days, Thielen would have forgotten about breakfast and followed the throng to watch the first task, (not because he was a conformist in any way, but because it was going to be interesting and he was probably going to learn something from it) though today, breakfast had stuck on his mind because he'd dreamt of ham. Else, he would have forgotten.

Thielen stabbed a piece of cold bacon with his fork, he supposed this would be one of the times that he'd get mad at himself for eating slow. But who wolfed down cold bacon, anyway? He didn't think he was that much of an oddball.

Blake Maxwell

Blake finally snapped out of his daze. Looking around he noticed how empty the room had become. Nearly every chair was now void of an inhabitant. A cold bitter wind of emptiness swam across the hall. Blake stood and as soon as he became upright he turned and left the hall seen as everyone else he cared about had already left. He was heading for the event. He may as well watch even though he didn't truly care about it. It was an excuse for people to become insanely proud of their school. It usually caused hatred between the three schools, each trying to outdo the others. This year seemed a bit different, most of the people where getting along. Blake carried on walking, hoping nobody died before he was there.

Rivalry seemed to Thielen to be a fascinating thing, it fascinated him the same way that muggles fascinated his father, who was currently on a trek somewhere writing a memoir to bridge gaps between muggles and wizarding folk. In his own private opinion, it was too much of an idealistic goal, he mostly viewed himself as a pragmatist on most matters, and rivalries seemed to him a worthwhile thing because it tended to strike a balance and brought out the best and worst out of everyone.

If anything, even if he didn't have a particular interest in school events, it was nice to see how rivalries worked. He gave up on his cold bacon and followed another Ravenclaw boy out of the Great Hall, limping more heavily than usual. Maybe it was the weather, his limp had a sixth sense about these things.

Viola looked up from her book; nearly everybody had left the Great Hall for the first task. She had been so entranced in her reading she had forgotten to keep track of time

oh no, i don't want to miss anything.
She briskly came to her feet and without giving anyone a second glance departed for the forbidden forest via the grounds.
