Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Blood: Half-blood Wand: 12 � inches, redwood and cherrywood, core of demiguise hair, tough but not rigid Preferred House: Hufflepuff Appearance:* Height: 5'6" Eyes: Gray [although due to the nature of grey eyes they tend to shift colors subtly and are usually seen green] Hair: Medium ash blond (that's a mouthful), wavy. It tends to hang down to the middle of his shoulder blades in back, so typically he ties it into a loose ponytail at the nape of his neck. Physical Description: Caelan has a very neutral skin tone; light but not pale and not tanned. It suggests that he spends just the right amount of time outside and inside. In fact, he's quite average all-around, without any distinguishing features. He isn't particularly overweight, even given that he stuffs himself silly at every meal, and he isn't wafer-thin. His arms can carry his shoulder bag and his books, or maybe even his fat barrel of a cat if he decided to give that a go, but they aren't arms given to going around picking up hippogriffs and flinging Quaffles the length of the Quidditch pitch. His legs are wiry and springy, perfect for sprinting after-hours to the greenhouses or the Forbidden Forest, which is perhaps how he burns off all the food he eats. He has very light, faded freckles on his face, as though he used to play outside all day and has since dropped the habit (his arms are freckled more sparsely, with several pinprick freckles and a very small number of larger ones). Said face is heart-shaped and soft, without sharp angles. It's free of excess facial hair. Occasionally there will be a small pimple here or there, but he washes his face enough that he prevents any major breakouts� He does tend to get pimples on his ears, unfortunately, as he doesn't remember to wash them as much, and it drives him crazy. Out of uniform, he wears a light zipper hoodie with a badger situated over the entire left side and whatever shirt and pants he can find to put on. He'll occasionally even go so far as to borrow shirts from his dorm-mates if he can't find any he is compelled to wear, but always scourgifies and replaces them before they're missed (this habit was only picked up after he learned that he was capable of the cleaning spell). His pants are usually tan or olive, and follow jeans-patterns, but are almost never actually jeans. In extreme weather, he'll throw on an extra shirt under his hoodie and perhaps a pair of gloves. As for shoes� His normal footwear is black Converse high-tops, or rather, a specific pair of his that has been charmed by his mother for increased arch support and grip (it makes them better sprinting shoes). He changes the color of them for formal occasions or when he needs to match his outfit, or in rare cases owls home for traditional dress shoes. Personality: Caelan is what you might call a teacher's pet. He strives to pay attention in all of his classes and do his best, so he doesn't talk much during classes (and tends to stay afterward to ask questions about the lessons). Many mistake this quietness for shyness, but outside of the classroom, he's remarkably friendly and outgoing. He puts so much effort into paying attention in class that some have labeled him as a bookworm. This is partially true; Caelan does tend to immerse himself in theory books and practice books and is therefore theoretically a pretty great wizard. However, in practice, he could use some improvement� to say the least. No matter how much he knows about a spell in theory, Caelan can never quite get the wand wave right, or he'll have the incantation emphasized wrong ("It's Levi-OH-sa, not Levi-o-SAH.") or mispronounced. He has the basic spells mastered in practice, but he still doesn't know enough for the O.W.L.s. Because of this utter failure at using spells, he excels in classes in which application of theory is easy to navigate and spelled out for him, such as History of Magic, Potions, and for some reason Divination. Defense Against the Dark Arts is his worst subject, and Charms and Transfiguration are down there with it. Of course, whether or not he easily excels in a subject has nothing to do with whether or not he likes it. Despite struggling with Transfiguration and DADA, he counts those two as being among his favorite classes, because he thinks it's incredible seeing what other students can do in Transfiguration and because he is a protector at heart, and even while not being able to cast spells well, he likes knowing he has them in his theoretical arsenal. He also enjoys Care of Magical Creatures, especially when the creatures aren't dangerous (he maintains a safe distance from those). Caelan is flighty when frightened, probably due to his lack of magical prowess, and would much rather run than fight anybody. Consequently, he doesn't stand up for himself and usually won't stand up for his friends unless there's already someone doing so, because then, hey, there's someone there to protect him! The only exception to this rule is his little sister Abby; he is extremely protective of her and would likely sacrifice himself on her behalf if necessary. He is the target of bullies occasionally but doesn't let it phase him; he feels empowered by having the faculty on his side and has no problem being a tattletale. He memorizes faces and names partially to be able to accurately identify bullies and partially to not look like an idiot because of not knowing someone's name. He isn't particularly gifted in 2D art, nor is he musical, but he does enjoy making things with his hands when given the opportunity- clay sculptures, wood carvings, etc. Caelan's ideal future job is probably a desk job, or perhaps some sort of cleaning job. � But he's friendly around his friends and his sister's friends! History: Caelan's mother and father met in a most unspectacular pub on a drizzly night while Joanne was trying to act out in typical teenager fashion (this being right before her final year at Hogwarts) by going to a muggle bar and drinking muggle alcohol over the summer vacation. Thomas, on the other hand, was trying to drown his manly mid-20s sorrows regarding some sport or another. Joanne carefully kept her magic a secret from him and eventually they got to talking, and their talking led to more meetings in the same pub, meetings in different pubs, and then suddenly a couple years out of Hogwarts Joanne was pregnant with Caelan. When the boy was born, Thomas didn't notice anything unusual about him and Joanne begged him to stay- they never officially married, but Thomas did live with her until Caelan turned two. At his second birthday party, Caelan was so overjoyed that his grandparents had bought him a little kitten, he accidentally blew out all the lights in the house and effectively blinded several guests (mostly Thomas's family), as well as exploding the kitten. His mother rightly freaked out and called the Ministry, requesting a team of Accidental Magic Reversal wizards clean up the mess. They obliviated the memories of the party from the minds of the guests and healed their eyes, but Thomas obstinately insisted that he keep his memories. He left that night, and Joanne had to modify his memory herself, lest he in spite reveal the existence of wizards. Then, ironically, she went to a wizard pub to drown her sorrows, and in her drunken state she fell in "love" with a man called Ellis Randall. In truth, his family was pressuring him to marry a Pureblood, to, well, keep the line pure, and he'd had trouble finding a suitable witch that wasn't half-blood or less. When he found Joanne, he pounced on his opportunity, wooing her at the pub, after the pub, coming to her home with flowers just because, and a couple months later they married. After the marriage, Ellis explained to Joanne his position with his family, and, needing the support that a well-to-do family like his would provide, she agreed, on the condition that he be always kind to her and her children. So they work in tandem, not really in love with each other but following a well-worn pattern they know. Nine months after the marriage, Joanne gave birth to Abigail, and demanded that she have her own last name because Ellis had tricked her. It was a selfish request, but Ellis gave in because he knew that his wife could be a menace with her wand when she wanted to be, with hexes and the like. Caelan grew up with his mother preaching to him that he had to always be there and take care of his sister, because he was the older brother and that was his duty. As a result, Abby clings to him like Velcro and he won't let her out of his sight unless absolutely necessary. Protective older brother? Yes. Overbearing older brother? Perhaps. He likes to know exactly where she is and who she's with at all times, which usually doesn't bother her; she's used to it by now. Family: Explained above, but anyways Mother- Joanne Amherst Father- (biological) Thomas Halifax Father- (step-) Ellis Randall Sister- Abigail "Abby" Amherst Pet(s): He has an exceptionally fat silver tabby cat called Poshbelch (which is an inside joke between himself and his sister). Caelan didn't trust himself with animals for a long time following the exploding of the second-birthday-kitten (as it's known around his house), but the year his sister entered Hogwarts (three years below him), while browsing Diagon Alley for a suitable pet for her, they came across Poshbelch, still a nameless kitten, already showing the signs of his adult basketball shape, and they picked him up. Having just eaten, he burped in their faces- a small, cute burp. They burst into laughter because during their meaningless chatter between shops they'd determined that there was no way to burp in a dignified manner, and from that moment on the cat was known as Poshbelch. Caelan walked out with Poshbelch for his sister, only to find that she'd intended for him to have it and she'd already bought a black tuxedo cat for herself. So Poshbelch stayed in Caelan's care. At two years old, he's already round as a tomato but still manages to hobble around just fine. Possessions: Poshbelch is his most prized possession, with his wand a close second. And he has a miniature storage cabinet fitted for small flasks that he uses to store his completed potions from Potions class so that he can bring them home and show his parents at the end of term. I think I was searching through a website of Top Harry Potter sites, or perhaps just looking for a Harry Potter roleplay site on Google. I can't recall, since I browsed so many in my quest to find a good one yesterday. ^^; Do you have any previous roleplaying experience? If so, on or in what? What universe did you roleplay in? Could you provide a sample roleplay of yours? In-deedy-doody. I've roleplayed everything from traditional wolf roleplay to clich� "teens captured by evil scientists and injected with animal DNA" roleplays. I've done horse roleplays, Pok�mon roleplays, Digimon roleplays, Harry Potter roleplays, and of course those in original settings. The best example I can think of off the top of my head is here, (I'm Kheisa) although that one moves at a snail's pace and isn't an example of my typical stuff (I usually write my posts like the second one; average length� And usually my posts aren't so depressing. xD). Most of the roleplaying examples I have are finished and moved somewhere where I can't find them on the forum. What is this site's URL? Oh gosh, this is so hard�I'd probably use Accio all the time. "Accio purple mechanical pencil!" "Accio freezer pizza!" "Accio Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire DVD!" *His wand is made of two woods because there are wands in the movies that are made with more than one. And the core of Demiguise hair suggests his like for Transfiguration.
