| Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice |
| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. With the shrug of her shoulders and a knowing smile, Sawyer ignored his question. As far as he was concerned, she was fearless. But was she really? Now that remained a mystery. Watching Collin skip stones was incredibly boring and Sawyer lost herself, staring blankly out onto the black lake which seemed to expand further than she would have thought. The Durmstrang ship rested in the middle, its huge, towering build casting a dark shadow onto the already black lake. "Boo!" Sawyer rolled her eyes and whipped around, face to face with Collin. Smirking, she ran a wet hand through his immaculate hair. "Is that really the best you got?" Sawyer asked, in a voice coated with sarcasm. Her eyebrows raised as she studied his features once more. "That was so pathetic it was almost cute," She informed him, placing her hands on her hips, "Almost," She repeated, her eyes sparkling in the moonlight. |

Rolling his eyes, Collin sighed. "Almost, huh?" he said, shaking his head. He backed up to shore and sat down with his feet still hidden in the blackness of the lake. He wiped his wet hands on the grass, not accomplishing much what with the dew. He looked up Sawyer and tried to ignore the moon sparkling in her eyes as he said, "Well, what, in your book, would qualify?" he asked, resting back on his elbows. Sawyer definitely qualified in his book. Not that he would say that out loud. Yet. He smirked, kicking up a wave directed towards her. "Because, honestly, I think I'd like to know," he said, studying her as she did the same to him. |

Sawyer followed Collin to the shore, and lowered herself down onto the sandy ground, stretching her legs out in front of her as she pulled the hem of her dress down, again, Sawyer contemplated Collin's question. Leaning back, her arms supporting her upper body, Sawyer lifted her head towards the moon. It was almost as if she were looking for the answer in the skies. "Oh, you'd like to know would you?" Sawyer cooed, rolling her head to the side so that she could see Collin properly. "Well I'd think I'd like to know why you'd like to know." Sawyer was playing games. Anything to avoid answering a quesiton honestly. Because if she had been honest, she would've admitted that he was more than cute. But Sawyer and honesty had a strained relationship - they mingled, firted, even went out on a few dates but never anything serious. Maybe that was her greatest flaw: her inability to tell the truth. |

"Just wondering," Collin said innocently with a bit of a smirk, nonetheless. "You're sure I don't fit your standards?" he asked with a careless tone. He inwardly laughed. Now for the fun stuff. He shifted his weight to one arm so the he was laying on his side, facing Sawyer. He absently plucked at the grass where she was. "Well, I suppose there's no point in me wasting my time here then, huh?" he said, struggling to keep his expression neutral, "I suppose I'll just find someone who can appreciate me and my lack of cuteness," he huffed sarcastically. He looked up at Sawyer, a grin spreading across his face. |

Sawyer arched her eyebrow, "Nobody's stopping you," She attempted to sound nonchalant, but a crease flashed in between her eyebrows - in the blink of an eye, it was gone. Running her hand through her hair, Sawyer sighed lightly. It seemed so long ago it was Mitch down at the lake with Sawyer, not Collin. But he was the one here, he was the one playing along with all her games, seemingly oblivious to that fact that she kept undressing him with her eyes. "You, meet my standards?" Sawyer asked, as if she had any at all. She did, but they were flexible - as long as the boy wasn't a Hufflepuff. Scooping up sand into her hand and letting it rest on her palm, Sawyer tore her eyes away from Collin and stared at the tiny grains. Letting them fall through her fingertips, a sly smile crept onto her face. "Do I meet your standards?" She asked, looking at Collin and raising her eyebrows. |

Collin thought he saw Sawyer's expression change, just slightly, but wondered if he'd seen correctly, as it was masked over once again. Was she always wearing such a mask? He smirked anyway. "" He considered her question for an appropriate answer. What were his standards? No Hufflepuff, obviously, but anything else? Well, they had to be at least mildly pretty. And not utterly insufferable in any way. But he supposed those standards were a bit loose. It didn't really matter though, did it? He already knew Sawyer fit his standards. But he wasn't about to say that outright. Where was the fun in that? If she was speaking in riddles, he could play that game, too. "Do you think you meet my standards?" he asked, with a sly smile himself. Collin couldn't resist shooting the question back at her. Besides, did she really think she didn't meet his standards if he was standing out here this whole time, flirting with her? He was enjoying himself. And her, of course, trying to keep his mind on the conversation and off of her eyes and her smile, and... Well. Back on the conversation. |

Sawyer rolled her eyes, smiling in spite of herself. Of course she meet his standards - how could she not? Never the vapid one, Sawyer merely shrugged. "If I already knew the answer, why would I ask?" She told him innocently, her smile was begining to hurt her cheeks. She normally never smiled this much - it was much more common to see a grimace on her face, or a scowl. Wiggling her toes, she attempted to control her expression. Her mother had always told her not to let boys think they had the upper hand - to leave them guessing at all times. Well, Sawyer's mother wasn't exactly the one whom she would normally go to for advice...considering she was a muggle. But never the less, she tried to heed her mothers words and her smile lessened. "Who knows what your standards consist of -- perhaps you only go for those of truer blood..." She suggested, looking back over her shoulder to the great, looming castle that was her home. A breeze blew by, sending her hair flying with it. |

"Well, someone's rather hypocritical about swollen egos," Collin said playfully, referring to her comment about the Slytherin boys 'thinking highly of themselves' back in the common room. He shook his head and kept his expression serious. With a heck of a lot of effort. He dug at the sand around him, mixing it with the grass behind him. "Perhaps I do," he said, not looking at her. He knew if he did he'd break into a grin and start laughing. It was difficult, playing Sawyer's mind games, but he could stick through it. He didn't though, have the same ability to keep a straight face through all this. It was really difficult. [OOC: Oh, yuck, crappy post] |

Sawyer let out a small, short burst of laughter. "Hypocrite?" She repeated, sounding somewhat astounded. Shrugging and smiling still, she tilted her head back towards Collin, her gaze falling onto his face. "Well, if we want to get technical, everybody is a hypocrite...in one way or another." Shaking her head back, the smile falling from her face, Sawyer ran a bony hand through her windswept hair. "Perhaps." Sawyer mimicked, her eyebrow arched. And he said she was being vague. Didn't he realize she wanted someone who would be able to stop the game she was playing? "So, Collin. You're from England, are you not?" She assumed, throughing him a thoughtful glance. Sawyer detested those from abroad, which was rather single minded of her, but since when did she ever care? God Save the Queen. |

Startled by Sawyer's innocent next question Collin replied bluntly, "Yes." He now couldn't tell the difference between her games and her honest questions. But her previous comment got him thinking again. Everyone is a hypocrite? Well, he assumed it must be true. He was growing tired of her mind games though. He figured the best thing would be to simply go back to his blunt self. Ignoring whatever value her question might have had on her outlook of him, he simply said, "You know, I don't care you're a half blood, if you're going to keep going on about it," he said, feeling it necessary to get that out of the way. He plunged a hand into the water that was now licking his feet, feeling it rush into his hand and out with every passing wave. It reminded him much of his conversation with Sawyer. Sometimes he knew exactly what she was talking about, but at times like this, all sense seemed to leave him. "You also meet my standards, so no worries there, either," he said with a sly grin. Ahh... back to the regular old, no Sawyer's brain teasers, old fashioned flirting Collin. Edited by Collin Wickham, Jul 26 2009, 12:49:20 PM.

Sawyer pursed her lips to stop herself from smiling. She cleared her throat softly, attempting to keep her composure - which was proving to be rather difficult considering the strange happiness now flowing through her. Control yourself, she thought hopelessly, licking her bottom lip. "I wasn't worried..." She said, attempting to sound offhand but failing miserably. "And if it's any consolation, you meet mine as well..." Sawyer added in a faint voice, her cheeks growing uncomfortably warm. "And I was only teasing about the pure blood thing," She told him in a knowing voice, shrugging her shoulders indifferently. She watched as he made waves with his hands, losing her train of thought. "No need to get so...defensive." Sawyer met his sly grin with one of her own, looking at Collin directly in the eyes and arching an eyebrow at him before turning away. Dawn was approaching, faint splotches of color were now visible in the navy blue sky. The stars were begining to dim - Sawyer smiled and sighed happily. Collin was grinning again. He was back to loving this conversation, reveling in Sawyer's blush. He shook his head and rolled his eyes. He was well aware he met her standards. Now he was just feeling the giddiness she was trying to hide at hearing it said aloud. As she met his eyes again he got the hypnotic feeling she was subconsiously drawing him in. He shook his head to brush it off. "I'm getting defensive?" he asked with an expertly charming grin. "You're the one who tries to hide it every time I get you out of your shell," he said with an almost exasperated sigh. He watched her face carefully for any sign of her mask lifting. "You know, I don't appreciate this hard to get thing you're doing," he said, splashing her playfully. "I'd be much happier if you just came right out and said what you're thinking," he said, meeting her eyes with just a hint of a knowing air to his voice. |

Saywer watched as the night sky became lighter and lighter, it was almost as if a painter was moving his brush along the skyline as crimson, deep purple and light pink became visible. Sawyer held her tongue momentarily, debating whether or not to truely say what she was thinking. "I'm not playing 'hard to get'." She told him stubbornly, splashing him back as the water too became lighter with the rising sun. "What I'm really thinking?" She repeated, looking down at her sandy, wet toes and then back at the multicolored sky. "I think that..." Sawyer stalled, not knowing how much to expose to Collin. She hardly knew him! "I'm thinking that its really beautiful this morning..." She amended quickly, smiling convincingly at Collin. |

"I'm not playing hard to get." Collin let out a small laugh at her splash, attempting to dodge it, but still getting sprinkled. "If you say so..." he said, wiping his face from lake water with his sleeve. "So you're just 'hard to get'? It's natural of you?" he asked, amused. He ran a hand through his hair absently. He looked up as Sawyer started to say what she was really thinking. He let out a snort as she commented on the morning. He hadn't really noticed the sky getting lighter, he'd been too focused on Sawyer. But now that he looked at it, he realized that she was right, it was beautiful. "So this whole time I've been talking to you, all you've been thinking about is the weather?" he asked with a slight chuckle. He rolled his eyes. "But yes, it is a beautiful morning," he said, looking at Sawyer. |

Sawyer laughed with embarrassmen;, the weather was definitely the last thing running through her mind, but she decided not to mention that to Collin. He would be mighty full of himself if he knew just exactly what she was really thinking. "Well the weather...the weather..." Sawyer grimaced, but gave up trying to make an excuse and instead splashed a handful of water at Collin, "Shut up!" She told him in a playful tone, smiling broadly. "Geez what is it with you?" Sawyer asked, looking at him inquizitively but smiling nonetheless. "Your so..." At a lost for words, Sawyer merely rolled her eyes. She was finding it increasily more difficult to act 'natural' around Collin. |

Collin laughed, unable to dodge her next splash and getting a faceful of lakewater. He wiped his face on his shoulder sleeve. Still, it was a small price to get her out of her shell. At least a little. He fiddled around with the sand, dragging his fingers through it. He looked back up at her as she asked her question. "What is it with me?" he asked, bewildered. He'd thought he'd been pretty outright with her. But maybe not. It was hard to tell. He sighed, sitting up straight again, and gave a similar look back to Sawyer. He could think of a lot of things he 'was so...'. Good looking, for instance. Athletic. Charming. Et cetera, et cetera. He looked at Sawyer. "You know, I've been wondering the same thing about you," he said seriously. He just couldn't seem to figure her out. If she would just open up a little. "You're so..." he mimicked her. He could think of a few things for her as well. Pretty. Smart. Such pretty eyes. He sighed, exasperated, choosing his word. "Confusing." |

Sawyer threw her head back and laughed, he thought she was confusing? Looking almost as if she were proud of the title, Sawyer pulled down the hem of her dress again. "I'm confusing?" She asked, somewhat incredulously as she watched the sun rise higher, the brightness bouncing off the lake in gleaming rays. "I am hardly confusing! I think I've been very clear with you," Sawyer told Collin resolutely, crossing her arms in a stubborn gesture. Sawyer West didn't just open up to anybody. Always expertly guarded, Sawyer let her grey eyes wander towards the direction of the forest. It was because of her experience in the forest she was this way - suspicious, cautious, ... vague. It seemed the more she tried to shake off the excess layers, Sawyer had built up even more walls protecting her. She wanted to be able to just have a simple conversation and not feel as if she were being interrogated - she wanted to be able to freely talk to sombody; anybody and just say how she was feeling and not care about how they saw her. But you obviously can't always get what you want. Sawyer wiggled her toes a bit, and glanced over at Collin. "Actually, maybe I am a bit confusing." Sawyer suggested, grimacing slightly as she ran a pale hand along the surface of the water. "I don't mean to be," She assured him, leaning her head so that she saw his face in the reflection of the lake. "I just...am." She finished in a small voice, rather lamely. |

Collin smiled slightly. Now she was getting somewhere. First step: admit you have a problem. Check. Well, technically, being closed up wasn't exactly a problem, but it was for Collin. He glanced at the lake, now that it was light enough to be able to see her reflection, he took advantage of it. He met eyes with her reflection, something that seemed odd to him. Meeting her reflection's eyes and not hers. He shook his head. He didn't expect her to get all quiet, but he assumed it was just her way of doing things. He turned to look at her, but saw she was still looking in the lake, almost determinedly. Quietly, almost unaware of what he was doing, he took her chin lightly in his hand and turned her to face him, feeling a slight thrill as he did so. "Now you're not being so confusing," he said as though congratulating a small child. |

Sawyer allowed Collin to turn her chin so that she now faced him. It was a simple action - but the act had caused Sawyer's heart to beat unfathomably fast. Trying to keep her breathing steady, Sawyer's eyes remained locked on Collin. "Or am I?" She ventured, cocking her right eyebrow. I just am seemed more vague to her than anything else she had said. It was an excuse, and a lame one at that. Sawyer knew the reason, but Collin had so readily accepted that perhaps she just was that way so she didn't feel the need to elaborate. Jerking away from his grip, Sawyer smiled mischievously. You always admire people you don't understand. "Well it's a good thing your confused. Because if you weren't...then you weren't paying attention." Sawyer spoke, her eyes still boring into Collin's. |

Collin rolled his eyes for what seemed like the millionth time during that one conversation. Or was she? What? Her I just am was vague and confusing, but considering it seemed more heartfelt than what she'd said before, it made sense. Or was she? Now that made what he'd thought he'd understood confusing again. "Now you're really confusing me," he said, letting go obediently as she jerked away. He sighed, falling back onto his elbows again. He scoffed. "Oh, trust me, I've been paying attention." A bit too much attention, Collin. Shut up. Now, who are you telling to shut up? You're talking to yourself, you know. He urged his mind to stop it's buzzing. He ran a hand through his hair again, causing wet finger lines to streak it, but he didn't notice. "So you're telling me that if I didn't listen to you, I'd understand you?" he asked with a grin, just being contrary. He was grinning again. He looked down at his reflection and grimaced, then looked at Sawyer's and laughed. "We look like we spent the whole night splashing in the lake," he said with a laugh. He still felt the nagging feeling to rush up to the common room and clean himself up, but he figured it could wait. For now, at least. |
