| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Cole sighed deeply and listened to the girl ramble on. She could care less who they were. Bitches were bitches, regardless of name, blood status or anything else. And when someone needed to calm down they really needed to calm the hell down. And this girl was really questioning what house she was in? "Slytherin, of course. I'm not a filthy animal like some other people I know of," she said, flashing a look at the rest of the group. Before she knew it the argument was back on and Precious was tackling that Kane fellow. Her display was so dramatic. She shook her head and watched for a few moments, deciding whether or not to do anything. She yawned and kept looking on, but it appeared that things were getting heated in a different way. Her look of boredom turned to her renowned glare, the look that could turn blood to ice. She was disgusted. A Slytherin girl conducting herself in such a barbaric manner. She would've mistaken her for a Ravenclaw or a Gryffindor had she known better. "Precious, please. If this were being filmed third year boys would line up out the castle to buy a copy. Don't waste your time." |

"Show you? Are you sure? I think it would be more fun to just play 21 Questions." Precious suggested with a sly smile. She got off of Kane, standing up straight. She took out her wand and pointed it at Kane. "Get up. Now." she commanded. She felt like she was training a dog. Precious glared at Cole. "Shut up, Chloe. I don't need of your approval. I'm trying to train a dog here." she said, poking Kane with her wand. She didn't care if she called her by the wrong name. This Abott girl was getting on her nerves. And pretty soon, Precious would snap on Cole. |

Once Precious got off of Kane and he could breathe again, he looked at the Abbot girl. She was clearly trying to make a snide remark, but it didn't seem to have fazed Precious. Standing up, Kane turned to face Precious, who had drawn her wand. "Twenty-one questions doesn't sound very... interesting right now," he said, pulling his own wand from his pocket and pointing it at her. "And I'd appreciate it if you'd lower your wand." He twitched his towards hers and smirked at her. "Now, what exactly was that punishment you were going to dish out on me?" His eyes flitted between Precious and the Abbot girl. She was beginning to become quite annoying. Who exactly was she under the impression she was? A princess? Royalty? Because there surely were never Wizarding royalty. Pure Blood though she was, she had not the skill to take down a Ravenclaw of Kane's caliber. He could break her with a flick of his wand. "So, Hindert? What was it, exactly?" |

Cole grumbled and turned, crossing a few feet to a nearby tree. She plopped down happily on the ground and pulled out her wand. She flicked it in the air and watched as a single, black bird burst from the tip. It fluttered around her wand and came to rest on her hand. She inspected it and ran one finger down its soft back. She had no interest in either the Ravenclaw or her fellow Slytherin. They were both boring show offs and she knew it. But what else was there to do? Sleep? She never did much of that. She didn't even bother to correct Precious on her name slip. She simply figured she was too stupid too remember what it really was. She closed her eyes and leaned her head against the tree, trying desperately to block out the sounds of whatever they were about to do. |

Tinsley sorted with derisive laughter and rolled her dark eyes, smirking silently. "You know, I think I should--" Tinsley had been trying to talk to the Slytherin girl, Cole, who Tinsley hadn't ever seemed to notice. But why hadn't she noticed her was a different story. Intrigued, Tinsley's eyes met her leaned against a tree. "...Hmm." Tinsley trudged up to the tree, and leaned her back against the bark, sitting beside Cole. "You know, I think I should start selling tickets to these things. I'd make loads of extra Galleons." Smirking slightly, Tinsley yawned. It was boring, witnessing an apparent attempted homicide. "I know Precious may have mentioned, but I'm the type to introduce myself properly," added Tinsley. She quietly glanced up at the sky, her gaze contemplative, and her voice quiet. There was an unwonted thoughtful air about her, from the slow, lazy way she watched Precious to the way she even looked at Cole: Tinsley's eyes wide, glowing, and very interested. There was something about Cole--maybe the bracelets on her arms, the sparkling jewelry, or her sharp tongue? Tinsley was sure she had never come across anyone, even in Slytherin, that, undoubtedly, unflinchingly, met her requirements. But the air was full of surprises lately. Stop thinking about that. "So, I'm Tinsley," the brunette (again) began, a forced smile inching onto her face gradually, "According to Precious, The Tinsley Carmicheal. I suppose I've built quite the ...reputation." Tinsley shrugged. "And...did you introduce yourself? Cole, isn't it? I swear I've seen you here and there." Guiltily, Tinsley wondered if perhaps this hidden gem was one of the unfortunate souls Tinsley had bound to be her slave when she needed something--dozens of first years were, at the very least. "You were very sharp back there," complimented Tinsley, struggling to stay in her Queen Bee mode: which was, basically, a bit sharp herself, stern, critical--mean. But Tinsley couldn't seem to manage it. Her face broke out into another reluctant smile. Note to self: Keep her away from Julian. He had enough women to last him a lifetime. |

Dahlia grabbed Sanctimus' arm and tugged him past Kane and Precious. She nodded at Tinsley whether that would have been a good things or not. Dahlia had spoken to her in class and such before, same with other Slytherins. They didn't hate her because she's a pureblood, but they didn't quite acknowledge her either. |

Introduction. Compliment. Wash, rinse and repeat. Cole was so used to hearing the same thing from everyone she met. "Hi, I'm (name of random unworthy stranger here). You are/were so beautiful/clever." She opened her eyes and looked over at Tinsley who was regarding her with intrigue, as most people did. She locked her tiger's eyes on Tinsley's, unflinching and blank. She wished she was high. Sure, she'd heard of Tinsley. She'd been in the same house as her for two years now, since she'd come to Hogwarts in her third year. But she'd remained under the radar, preferring to stay unknown until she got comfortable at the school. Yes, Tinsley had a reputation, and from a distance she certainly did sparkle. But Cole knew what all the Slytherin girls were like. Probably because they were just like she could've been: cut-throat bitches with a trust fun back home. But she was willing to give Tinsley and Precious a slight chance. After all, they did have an impressive reputation. "Thanks," she murmured, her voice low and quiet. Watching Precious' outburst was tiring, not to mention dreadfully dull. If she wanted to be entertained by fighting she would be in one herself. Cole Abott was no mere spectator. She looked on at Precious and Kane and shook her head, smirking faintly to herself. "We could start a goddamn business. Set up in the Quidditch pitch and have matches for the whole school to watch." She sighed deeply and leaned her head back against the tree, her eyes half open to watch the unfolding spectacle. |

Kane's head turned as Dahlia left, and his heart sank. He looked back at Precious. "Now, now, Hindert, why did you have to get rid of our audience? At least we've still got Kennedy--" he motioned towards Paul "--and Tin-tin and that Abbot girl, hmm? But, there's always the question... what is she going to do next? What insane stunt is she going to pull that will draw all eyes towards her? Well, it looks like your popularity is slipping, Precious, and you're losing an audience! Such an interesting girl as yourself, though, I wouldn't have thought it possible! But then...." Kane grinned and twirled his wand in his hand. "You are with that lot." He pointed his wand at Tinsley and Cole, then refocused his aim at Precious. |

Tinsley snorted, unable to help herself any longer. Grinning widely, Tinsley grabbed the chain of her mother's locket with her free hand, twirling the locket around--the snake engraved on the front flickered in the moon light, its jade eye sinisterly sparkling. Tinsley didn't seem to notice the ominous sheen it gave off, and instead gazed toward the edge of the forbidden forest, her face contorted into what was--almost--a longing expression. "I wouldn't waste my time, personally," remarked Tinsley, sounding spiteful, "Especially on a boy who thinks calling me Tin-Tin is insulting. It's what my family calls me most of the time. Why would I care?" Tinsley, however, certainly looked as though she cared just a bit as a slight blush crept onto her cheeks--but just slight, and in the darkness, it wasn't quite so noticeable. Forgetting that she had a bottle of butterbeer clutched tightly in her hand, Tinsley took a sip, feeling the warmth comfort her, as usual. Her stomach churned slightly. How .. boring. A very, very sober Halloween, in all aspects. She swished the amber liquid in her bottle and too another sip. At least she wasn't alone, or in the common room with everyone else... Even if everyone else seemed to follow her. Feeling as though she were stuck indefinitely between a rock and a very, very hard place, Tinsley cleared her throat. Sounding affronted, she quipped, "I think Resultran just pointed at us. As though he's never seen some Slytherins' before." Tinsley bit her lip. "You'd think people would get used to it instead of acting like they've got the emotional temperance of a troll all the time." Herself included. She glanced over, the glint of Tinsley's locket catching her eye. Her hand fluttered around her own throat, a very similar locket at the base of her neck. The little black bird she had conjured flapped his wings furiously before settling back down on Cole's thigh. She smiled softly at the little thing. She had a bit of a soft spot for animals. Cole looked over again to Tinsley as she spoke. Tin-Tin. It was rather humorous, but Tinsley looked a bit flustered at the idea. What was so wrong with Tin-Tin? Or maybe it was the family reference that had struck a nerve. "I have trouble believing you don't care. You certainly look like you do." She tore her eyes away from the girl, her gaze caught once more by Precious. She had to laugh, the sound a contrast to her personality: light and carefree, pleasant. She pointed back at Kane and gave him a wink followed by a swift flash of her middle finger. She dropped her hand back in her lap, disrupting her bird again. He settled on her shoulder as she twisted her diamond and amethyst pinky ring around and around her finger. "Sometimes I wonder why I dislike most people from other houses. Then they open their mouths or do stupid things like this and I remember: because they're inferior creatures. I almost feel badly for him...Almost,"she said, her voice icy and dripping with venom and superiority. |

Precious laughed. Kane was kind of cute in a weird way. Too bad he wasn't in the Slytherin house. "The only reason why I got rid of the audience was because I didn't want them to see what's going down on this particular night." Precious laughed. She put down her arm, her blue eyes on Kane's wand. "Since when did you care about my popularity? I'll always be on top, and I always will be." she took a step closer to Kane. "But the question is, what are you going to do? Are you going to fight back? I know you've always wanted to hurt me. Everyone has. Even those two over there," Precious jerked her head to where Tinsley and Chloe were sitting under the tree. She walked over to Kane-to the point where the tip of his wand was poking into Precious' neck. "So, do it. I dare you." she dared. She swallowed and watched as the wand moved with her neck. Like he was going to do it anyway. If he did do something, he would probably brake her neck in the process. Then, he would have a lot of explaining to do to the nurse-and maybe the headmistress. But no worries. This trick always works. |

Paul snorted to himself as Cole pointed out his drunkenness. He did sway a little from his snort, shaking his head. "If the worst you have to throw at me is your aloofness about alcohol, why bother?" Paul sniggered out loud at the flailing attempt by this brave little girl. He turned his head ‘round to look at Dahlia when he heard his name called and nodded. "Yeah, alright. I don't reckon there'll be much else going on," Paul slurred a little. It was then that he noticed Precious becoming frightfully angry. His brow rose at her in order to hide his wide-eyed surprise. He didn't know anything about this girl and her family, but as soon as he heard about her father, Paul sort of shut up for a moment. It wasn't his place to chastise someone on their father being dead; after all, she was a human being too. She seemed awfully upset and his intention was not to make her cry, so when her voice started to waiver, he was taken aback. It was a bit of a sobering experience; for a moment his anger subsided until she grasped his bottle. He reacted by trying to grasp it back, but he was too slow in this state. He merely watched on. His euphoric state was brought back when he heard her remark on his booze. "Tasted crap before, have you? And what, you can't handle it if it's not a wine cooler and in a sippy cup?" Paul shot back and watched as she flung the bottle at the ground and heard it crack. He watched and heard the liquor sloshing about violently until its volatility subsided and became calm. "What the---," Paul was cut off short when she got into his face. Now that she was up in his face, Paul noticed that she wasn't bad looking at all. He studied her features for a moment and decided to be a wise-arse. "Y'know when you're angry, you're awfully cute. Fancy a snogging?" Paul was defiant until the last. "And what is that intoxicating aroma you're wearing?" he decided to push his luck. However, this seemed like this was a bad idea because she pushed him hard. He felt Precious' palms connect with his chest and felt himself jolt back. His neck whipped back a bit from the utter force and unsuspecting blow. He caught himself with his left knee connecting with the ground whilst his other was bent. His hands forced onto the ground roughly and he chuckled to himself. "Now that was the reaction I was looking for! Upper social class? More like barbaric!" Paul sniggered violently to himself. He flung himself to the ground as he howled further with laughter at the provocation he had received out of Precious. He finally collected himself and got up to leave with Kane. He was walking a little when he saw a flash out of the corner of his eye, causing him to jump a little; whatever it was, it hit Kane hard. He blinked a bit to himself before raising a brow in exclamation. "You're bloody mental!" he shouted at Precious and went to go tear the two apart, but by the time he got there she was off of him. Paul was about to give Kane his hand to help him up before Kane stood on his own accord. It all escalated so fast and wands were drawn like an old Western movie, but no shots fired. Paul came up on the side of Kane and placed a hand on his shoulder. With his usual boyish grin, he nearly snickered, "What is it with these vain lasses? They really need to get over themselves and realise they're not all that important," Paul said loud enough for even Tinsley and Cole to hear as well. He gave Kane's shoulder a pat to signify that they should go, "Come on, mate, she isn't worth it," he gave Precious a sharp glance. Edited by Paul Kennedy, Jul 20 2009, 04:41:27 PM.

Kane shrugged as Paul patted him on the shoulder, his nose just inches from Precious' forehead. "You go.... I have a bit of a feeling that Miss Hindert here doesn't want me to leave." He watched as his wand was pressed into Precious' neck as she approached him, her aroma drifting off of her skin and overwhelming his senses. He swallowed silently and lowered his wand. "You're lucky, Precious, that I'm not a foul git. I'm a civilized person, and I won't attack unless it's sprung on me first. Only then would I retaliate. Of course, if somebody were to provoke me..." he drifted off into silence. Grinning, Kane lowered his wand to her feet. Precious' intoxicating aroma was more than Kane could bear. "I'd appreciate it if you'd step back, please, Hindert." He took a step back and jabbed his wand at the floor. "Incendio," he whispered, and a fire shot out and lit the ground before him. "You've changed so much, Precious. There are times, however, when I look at you, and I still see the little girl with the pink hair and press-on tattoos. I suppose that's all changed, though.... It's a shame, really, that you've ended up with that lot." He smirked and his eyes flickered to Tinsley, then Cole, to Paul, and then fell upon Precious. She looked so different from the first time he had laid eyes on her, and it was astonishing what three or so years could do. "I'd like to imagine that you had a response, Hindert." |

Precious ignored that Paul guy or whatever. Her attention was all on Kane. "Listen to your friend, Kane." Precious commanded. "I'm not worth it." she whispered. "It's called Armani Code-a perfume that costs more than your whole outfit." Before she knew it, Kane had taken a step back and set the ground on fire before her. A gasp escaped her cherry red lips-something she couldn't hold in. "People change, Kane. More than others. It's always boring to stay the same." Precious shouted over the fire. She took a couple steps back, but she was not backing down. "I've always been with that 'lot'. And I probably always will be. In fact, they worship me. They worship the very ground I walk on." Were things getting heated, or was it the fire? "THE PINK, is gone. Too late, you missed out." Edited by Precious Hindert, Jul 20 2009, 05:23:17 PM.

Kane smirked as Precious gasped audibly over the cackling of the fire. Such an immature little girl she was. "Well, of course they change, Precious. I've changed. Paul's changed, no doubt. You have. I'm pretty sure even Baubles over there has! But, changing isn't always for the better. Oh, no, sometimes, in fact, most of the time, it makes the person worse! For you see, it is not our abilities that show who we truly are, but our decisions. You can train and train all you want, but when it comes right down to it, Hindert, you're just a pompous, loud-mouthed little girl who hides her emotions by taunting and tormenting those smaller than you. Am I right? Well, of course I am. But, I don't really feel like boring you with my droll lecture and delving deep into the human subconscious, so let's get this over with, shall we? What was that punishment you were talking about?" Kane grinned visibly. Either this had completely ruined Precious, or it had barely fazed her. |

Precious couldn't believe it: Kane was right. A Ravenclaw was actually right. She didn't know what to say. She was shocked, surprised, but still upset. "And it still makes me better than you." Precious hissed. Just because Kane was right, she wasn't going to show any signs of weakness. On the verge of tears again, Precious walked around the fire towards Kane. There, she pushed him hard. Without saying another word, she stomped up to the castle. Note to self: Kane Resultran is a dead man. |

"It's kind of sad, really," snorted Tinsley, glaring at the dim figures of Kane, Precious, and a rather intoxicated Paul. "I mean, they seem to think they have this sort of un-tapped wisdom. Honestly, though." Tinsley frowned, glancing at Cole--more specifically, the ring on her pinky. Tinsley's heavily-lidded eyes darted from the stone, to Cole's face, and back to the moon again, her eyes scanning the sky overhead for stars. Honestly, she could have used something to wish on lately. A breeze blew past her, calmer than before. With it, it carried the scent of Halloween--at least to Tinsley. It smelled like rain was coming not too far off, and something she must have smelled before. Like perfume. She glanced at Cole hesitantly. "And by the way," added Tinsley abruptly, "I don't care about the nick name Tin-Tin, really..." Lies. "Well, of course, it grows irksome. You would dislike it a bit if you had sev--six brothers." Tinsley clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth, just to break the silence echoing through her mind. |

Kane knew that he had struck a nerve with Precious Hindert, and that she was bound to do something drastic. However, she merely walked around the fire he had conjured and shoved him. He stumbled back a few paces, then realized that he may have gone too far. He hadn't really meant to reduce anyone to tears, or put them on the verge of. "If you were better, Hindert...." But she had gone. Kane looked to Paul, then looked back at Tinsley and Cole. I've got to sort this out. He pointed his wand at the fire, muttered, "Aguamenti," and followed Precious wherever she went. |

Cole caught her looking at her ring with a frown. Curious. She lifted her hand to her shoulder and delicately picked up the bird. She stroked him lightly on the back before lifting her palm up to the sky and setting him free. She watched with her intense gaze as he fluttered off into the night. Everyone had gone but her and Tinsley, but somehow she didn't feel awkward. It was peaceful, quiet, at least in her mind it was. She leaned forward and stretched, touching her toes before relaxing back against the tree. She felt no inclination to respond to Tinsley's comments. She was right. It was sad. She felt a sort of radiating pity for Precious, the kind of person who needed drama to feel important, to feel right. Cole was not like that. Cole was tranquil. She hated making scenes in most cases and she relished the quiet that settled over her now like an invisibiltiy cloak, hiding her innermost thoughts from the world. "Brothers. I've never really enjoyed family, so I guess I understand where you're coming from. I still think it bothers you for some reason though. I just can't figure out why." |

It's cute that everyone thinks they can be a queen, but remember who came FIRST.

Tinsley shrugged, frowning. She never removed her eyes from the milky black sky and held her breath as a star flickered on and off, glowing. She ignored Cole's statement for a moment, watching the stars twinkle. "Perhaps because the name on my birth certificate is Tinsley Erin Ophelia, and not Tin-Tin, or Baubles, or...only Ian calls me Baubles, that stinking prat. Prefect Potty du Lac." Looking as though steam might pour from her ears at any moment, Tinsley felt her cheeks. They were burning hot, and flushed with color. "I guess it takes a while to grow on you, you know? You're lucky. There's no decent nickname for Cole. I bet people don't even try." Tinsley sounded slightly bitter, and she seemed to realize this, because she attempted to smile at Cole. It seemed a bit forced--but hey, it wasn't every day Tinsley exercised those particular muscles. Still looking up at the inky black sky, Tinsley lifted her bottle of butterbeer up only to realize it was empty. With a sigh, she tossed it aside, watching it roll from its original position. She twirled a lock of auburn hair around her finger, releasing a sigh. The stars above looked like diamonds, strewn across the inky black sky, spotless like velvet. "You know when the stars flash like that, it means they're dying?" murmured Tinsley, in a misty sort of voice. Unsure where she had heard this before, it seemed to come almost naturally to her. "Or that there's an airplane nearby," added Tinsley, smirking. Another breeze blew through, rustling the leaves of nearby trees. The Whomping Willow was heard a fair ways away, thrashing about against the wind. The air was crisp and cool...sort of like Cole's attitude. Looking around, slightly desperate for the slightest bit of warmth both inside and out, Tinsley found herself looking at the edge of the forest again, unable to do much as she sat there except wonder how horribly the vein in Professor Aviza's temple would throb if she were caught outside. Which, of course, prompted Tinsley to feel scandalized--since when did she even care? |
