| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. The centaur trudged along at a slow enough pace so that his charges could keep up with the stride of his four long legs. "Just a little further now," he said. Meanwhile, apprehension burned within his mind. This was important work. And he had promised Bidelia. But he had just managed to get back in his people's good graces, and he felt as though his proposition tonight would end all hopes of his ever being accepted back. His "new herd" mentality had served him well, and he felt that his colleagues at Hogwarts were more of a family than his herd had ever been, but deep down there was the longing to be accepted again by his own kind. That, and a school family was not the most constant family. Every year old faces disappear and new faces take their places. Unlike the centaurs, whom were firmly set in their ways, humans seemed to always be in a constant state of transition--though to the stalwart eye of the immutable centaur, it often seemed that though no matter how much the humans rearranged their lives, so little truly changed, and the humans were merely fighting a losing battle against a traditionalistic world. Such was the belief of the centaurs. |

It's cute that everyone thinks they can be a queen, but remember who came FIRST.

Tinsley resolutely stared forward, her arms crossed against her chest like a petulant child, her lips puckered in a permanent frown. No word escaped her pouty, down-turned lips, and if it weren't for the rhythmic progression of her thunderously angry footsteps, her stoic expression would lead one to believe she was sleeping standing up. The only occasional change in her pokerface was the occasional side glance Tinsley would furtively sneak in Bannishtar's direction. Whenever she would watch him, she would speed up her pace somewhat, as though to impress him. After all, Bannishtar had saved her life .. the pain that had been relieved, and the security the centaur had provided was not something Tinsley would readily forget. "Further still?" she questioned, breaking her reverent silence. Her neck, conspicuously missing of her locket (although she had not yet realized it), had been exposed to the cold air for quite some time. A stray branch grazed her collarbone and Tinsley winced, jumping up and wielding around, her wand exposed. She narrowed her eyes, her entire body defensive, until she realized she was shining her wand's light on a branch. Embarrassed, her cheeks flushed before she could whisper nox and put her wand away. Briskly turning around, Tinsley fell back into step with Bannishtar, taking larger strides with her two legs to keep up with his four. |

"Yes," said Bannishtar, looking back just in time to see Tinsley pull her wand on an innocent tree branch. "I do not think that you will be attacked tonight," he said, "because you are with me. However, keep your wands out, because if we are by some chance accosted tonight, I will not be as quick to reach my bow with this heavy barrel on my shoulder. But when we do reach the other centaurs, please be careful not to offend them by pointing your wands at them." He smiled. He figured now was a good a time as any to tell them whom they were going to meet. |

Fera sighed loudly, kicking away a beetle. Her wand was out, resting in her hand, although she knew very well she wouldn't use it. (She was to slow with it, and it would be safer to rely on her elementium and a stick) Besides, Banni would not have bought them to fight, she kne- "But when we do reach the other centaurs, please be careful not to offend them by pointing your wands at them." "Oh great, is Stoneface still the leader?" Fera streched out her arm, resting it behind her head, by accident firing of a spell, making a little spider hover for a couple seconds. She stuffed the wand behind her ear that instant, relying on the others light. |

Mitchell gasped. "Wait, we're meeting the other centaurs?" he frowned, and gritted his teeth. Oh great. "Why?" Mitchell questioned, his eyes narrowing. Mitchell sighed and quickened his pace, realising that he was losing speed and would struggle to keep up otherwise. Are we there yet? He thought, as a young child may have done in a long journey. Mitchell shook his head, and thought that the more he tried to approach the evening with a positive attitude, the quicker it would be over. He noted how Fera seemed to be almost excited as he listened to her words. Great isn't exactly the choice of wording which I would have used... Mitchell pulled a face, and trudged onwards. |

((OOC: I assume we use this topic if we're going into the forbidden forest? I heard tell that you don't like two active topics in one area at a time...)) Gabriel had left the Great Hall with Margo, but was now leading the way into the Forbidden Forest. He hadn't really been sure where they were going in the first place, but had decided on the forest since he had never really had the mind to explore it alone. Now that he had a friend--that's right, he'd made a friend!--with him, he felt every confidence in himself to be able to go in and come back out well and safe. His only fear at that moment: running into the detention kids, and the professor leading them! At the edge of the forest, he turned around to make sure Margo was still following close behind. He didn't want to have left her behind. What a horrible person he would look like, then! "Is this being Ok with you?" he asked Margo, wanting to make sure that the Forest was an alright destination for the two of them. |

"Wait, we're meeting the other centaurs? Why?" Banni was about to answer when Fera spoke up, excited as he had expected her to be. She loved the forest, and for all the trouble the other centaurs had caused, Fera seemed the most willing to see the issue from their side of things. Fera was never the most forgiving person, but she had pragmatism to spare for anything that wasn't a fellow human. At least, this is how Bannishtar saw her. Of all the humans he had ever met, she seemed more like one of his own kind, at least in her world view, than a human. "Oh great, is Stoneface still the leader?" Banni's smile dropped. Stoneface. Of course she meant Ronin. "Fera," he said, "Ronin is dead." The centaur kept walking. Only a little closer now, "He was killed by Delores Umbridge, that night, when she had gone seemingly insane. And he had died defending your own schoolmates, something I'm sure you would not have thought he would do. I have reason to believe that, at least near the end of that whole ordeal two years ago, that Ronin had been under what I now know to be the imperius curse, as I believe that Delores had also been manipulating into murdering him. Ronin hated humans, this was true. But the things he had driven his people to do were not in their best interest, and even Ronin would have been able to see that. I believe at first he was provoked by someone else, someone who had an interest in getting the centaurs to cause a panic and to upset the peace and relative calm we had been experiencing prior. Someone had manipulated them both into playing their twisted game." ((OOC: Could someone ask something on the level of "who would that be"? I'm trying to make this read more like a real story rather than having Banni jump right to the whole explanation in a big long one-sided paragraph like I usually do.)) |

((OOC: HE HEARD IT FROM ME! HE REALLY TRULY DID!)) Margo followed close behind Gabe as he led the pair to the forest. They stopped just beyond the edge of the forest, and Margo sat down, leaning against a tree. "Yeah, this is great. It's so beautiful out here." It was beautiful, she just hoped they didn't run into someone, namely Fera, Kalvor, and Professor Bannishtar. The forest was forbidden, after all. Patting a portion of ground that was particularly un-dirty, Margo motioned for Gabe to sit beside her. "So, would it be too cliche to ask you to tell me about yourself?" |

When Fera heard the news, something broke inside of her, "Really?" She gulped, her face showing remorse and sadness, "Poor... Ronin? Dead..." she blinked, trying to understand it, "I-" Fera had experienced deaths before, but it was simply something you never, ever got used to, "Who is twisting this? Who's playing this sick little game?" Her fists were clenched, her heart thudding, and Fera thirsted for the blood of this creature, or person, to play this game against it, he or she, make people it, he or she, cared about kill eachother, and then- Fera gritted her teeth, her mind playing out thousands of scenes, the next worse than the other. Noticing that the others began to walk away from her, she dismissed them, instead using her energy on walking faster, |

Gabriel was satisfied, possibly even a little relieved that Margo sat down outside of the thicker part of the forest instead of choosing to go in. He'd always heard terrible things about what could happen in there. Not that he was scared, or anything. He sat himself down next to Margo, smoothing the tail of his coat under himself as he did so. Upon hearing her question, he stayed silent for a moment to think of how to start. "You already are knowing that I am Korean," he started, looking up through the trees at the sky in thought. Perhaps he should start with what he liked? No, that was too forward. But...what? "I have been living in England since being five. I do not speak English at home, this is why I have such hard accent. I actually do not know my blood purity. I did not know my father. I am thinking he was a nice man, but Mother does not speak of him. "I do not know what I am wishing to do when older. I am thinking perhaps a professor. I am liking the Charms class, in particular. I am believing the summer and fall are most romantic because there are roses always blooming then." He stopped there, thinking it was sufficient enough for now. He took his eyes off the sky and looked over at Margo. "This is enough of me for now. Can I know about you as well?" |

Margo gasped. "You lied? You lied to Precious? That makes you a liar!" She leaned in close to Gabe to whisper in his ear. "Pst. Gabe. That was another joke." Margo considered Gabe's request for a moment. What about her? There was alot to tell. "Well, I'm a little weird. Definatly don't care what other people think about me. Like to be differant. I make some of my clothes, cause I like them really unique. I don't mind standing up for myself, and you better not try and cross me. Anything else you wanna know?" |

Gabriel had opened his mouth to justify his lying, but was caught by being told it was only another joke. Yes, he really needed to work on that. Since Margo seemed to be one to joke a lot, he concluded that he just needed to hang around her more and he would start to understand. But for now, he was completely oblivious. He listened to her talk, thinking it was good that she didn't mind what others thought about her. He could almost say the same for himself. He did care, since he liked to know what others said about him, but he didn't let it get to him. And did she say that she made some of her own clothes? Maybe she would be willing to tailor his blue coat. It had this nasty tear in the back and he just couldn't find the right spell to fix it. "I am thinking I would like to learn by being around you," he said, unaware of how that sounded. She was a very interesting person, and he didn't want to learn it all at once. Otherwise, what was there to talk about later on? There was one thing he thought of, though. Something he always liked to know about a person for no particular reason. "What flower is being your favorite?" |

"Well, there's like this one flower in the Amazon that's five feet across and smells like a dead body, which sounds kind of cool. But like going by flower I would like to have, do dandelions count?" Margo leaned back against the tree and looked around. It was so peacful. Taking the roll out of her bag and nibbling it, she shivered. "Brrrr...... it's kinda cold out here, huh?" |

"Yes, dandelions are counting," Gabriel replied, holding a gloved hand in front of his mouth as he let out a quiet laugh. What an odd choice, but dandelions were cute, so he couldn't really blame her. His mind got caught in thoughts about the spirited yellow flowers and he almost missed her saying she was cold. Now, he hadn't felt it due to wearing both a long sleeved blouse and a black coat. Standing briefly, he tugged on the sleeves of his coat, pulling it off. He grabbed it by the collar and held it down to Margo. "Here, you should be using this, not I," he told her, offering ti to be kind and to be a good friend. |

Margo looked at the jacket then frowned. "No, see, I can't take the jacket because then you'd be cold. And that wouldn't solve anything. Plus, what if I accidently set it on fire? Then you'd be out a jacket. I really couldn't take it in good concience." Margo polished off the roll and pulled out the apple. "I like this. It's kind of like a picnic. Without the sunburn and the bee stings and the annoying fat guy that feels the need to talk real loud on his cell phone two feet away from you." |

Gabriel opened his mouth to protest that he wouldn't be cold in the least, but figured that arguing wouldn't solve anything, either. So, he hung the jacket on a low branch, telling himself mentally not to forget it when they left. Remembering that he, too, had some more food, he pulled the roll out from his hanging coat pocket and looked at it, not sure if he wanted to eat it right away or not. Deciding not, he held on to it, saving it for a few minutes. Hearing the comments about a picnic, he nodded, smiling again. She had such an imagination. He almost envied it. "You cannot be forgetting the ants," he added, finally biting into the roll. He chewed, then swallowed. "It is a picnic at night. A better picnic! This should not be the only time it is done. Sometime again. Would you come back with me?" |

"That depends, would you like to do this again with me?" This made Margo feel kind of nervous, so she leaned down and took a large bite of apple to try and hide her face. This backfired, though, and she started choking, coughing and spraying little bits of apple everywhere. ((OOC: SUCKISH POST, BUT I GOT WRITERS BLOCK AND ALSO GOT 2 GO)) |

"I would--" Gabriel started, but stopped as soon as Margo started choking. He knelt down (making him realize he had still been standing), leaning forward and putting his hand on her shoulder. He was worried, but also didn't know what to do. He'd heard that patting someone's back could only make things worse. And he didn't know the Heimlich Maneuver. What was a guy to do! He didn't want to leave her to find someone, and it was just an apple. With furrowed eyebrows, he waited, hoping she would stop and recover herself. |

Margo stopped choking, due to the fact that most of the apple had either exited her mouth or shot up her nose. "I'm good. Well, my nose is filled with a strong scent of apple, but other than that I'm fine." Suddenly she cringed. Offering his jacket? Putting his hand on her shoulder? Being concerned when she was choking? It was all to cliche. Too average. Too weird. Too not what Margo wanted. Well, maybe not the last one, but still. "Gabe," she said, looking straight into his eyes, "I would prefer if you would quit treating me like a girl. It makes me feel bad. Just treat me like one of your guy friend. Which means absolutly do not offer me your jacket ever again. Now, if I take it without asking, that's intirely differant, but offering me your jacket is far too cliche for my comfort zone. Thank you very kindly." ((OOC: sorry for being so difficult, I am in a very ornery mood.)) |

Gabriel was glad that she had stopped choking. He had genuinely been worried. After all, they were out here alone. If she'd been seriously in danger, he wouldn't have been able to do anything at all! And then he heard what she said, quickly removing his hand from her shoulder. Cliches. He really was full of them, wasn't he? It made him uncomfortable with himself. He didn't like being cliche. But he was a walking Victorian cliche. Standing up again, he took a few steps away and turned his back to Margo, hand going to his chin as he lowered his head in thought. Treat her like one of his male friends, huh? Well, he hadn't had a good male friend in years, but he could try. But she was so obviously a girl, it would be hard. He was more than willing to give it a shot, though. Clapping his hands together, he turned around to face her again. "Alright, I will do this," he agreed, a smile on his face once more. "But you must teach me these jokes that you tell, for I do not understand how calling you crazy is a joke!" Letting his hands fall to his side, he casually brought up the previous conversation, "I would like to have another night picnic, I am thinking. Maybe some day we can be sneaking a whole basket of food out. Would you help me with this?" |
