Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Grant strolled out onto the Grounds and into the warmth of the sun. Smiling, he walked a distance around the lake before deciding to rest near a tree. Sitting beneath the shady branches, he stretched his legs out, placing his hands behind his head. He was completely at ease. His eyes lingered on the massive Durmstrang ship, and then further, letting them soak in the powder blue Beauxbaton carriage.
Having had a large breakfast, Grant wasn't the slightest bit hungry and now that he and Emma had made peace, he would go to the Halloween feast.
It was really childish of him to not go in the first place. So what if he went alone, since when did Grant feel the need to conform and only go if he had someone to go with. He had plenty of friends, he could mingle and if he got bored - he could leave. It was that easy.
Not going because Emma would have gone with someone else was rather foolish of him too, he thought. He had come to terms with the fact that they were friends. And just friends. Nothing more, nothing less. Grant scratched his head. He had been stupid - Emma wasn't trying to dictate his life, she had just been looking out for his best interests.
He hmp'd. Grant knew what his best interests were, wouldn't he, of all people, be able to decide for himself what was good for him, and what wasn't? He shoved his thinking from his mind; clearing his head. There was no use dwelling on any of this business anyways.
His back comfortably resting on the bark of the tree, Grant allowed himself to drift off. He wasn't sleeping, his eyes were still wide awake, now watching the sunlight dance off the great lake's surface. He was perfectly still, enjoying the serene tranquility that the outdoors provided.

Margo stomped out to the lake, her feet making little indents in the soft ground. He just made her so mad! Finally, she came across a large, flat rock and sat down by the shore. She took deep breaths, taking in lungfuls of the the crisp air.

Absentmindedly, she used one foot to push around a little pebble on the sandy beach. Then she grabbed some parchment and a quill and began sketching, letting her bag sink to the dirt as her whole body relaxed.

Mariane, on her way to lunch in the Great Hall after History of Magic, exited the Beauxbaton carriage and started walking across the grounds.

Her immaculate silvery hair bounced as she walked, and was charmed to stay straightened. Mariane held her books to her pressed Beauxbatons blazer, and her powder blue pleated skirt fell just above her knee.

She nodded to some students who had the bad taste to stare, and winked at a stray Ravenclaw who'd gone red.

Smirking haughtily, Mariane flipped her hair and continued her walk along the beachy area, past the Durmstrang Ship, seeing some of the male students limbering up for a run.

Ahoy, Matey.

Mitchell walked outside, he had stopped by quickly at the great hall and grabbed an apple but did not stay there for long. Deciding that he needed to come outside for some fresh air, and time to think things over. Perhaps I should send an owl home soon... Mitchell shrugged off the thought as he approached the beachy area of the grounds.

His eyes followed a Beauxbaton girl walking along by the Durmstrang ship. He gasped, she certainly was beautiful. Gulping Mitchell quickly remembered Sawyer, and turned away. As he did so, Mitchell spotted Margo Wright. "Oi, crazy hair girl" he called over to the Gryffindor, before gritting his teeth and walking toward the Beauxbaton girl at a brisk pace.

Sawyer was pushed to the furthest corners of his mind at that present moment in time, Mitchell hoped she wouldn't find anything out. And that he wouldn't do anything to stupid. Smirking, he reached out to take hold of the girl's arm as he caught up to her. "Why hello there" Mitchell loosened his tie, and looked the girl up and down, with a smirk spread across his face.

Jenny Brooks was not a talkative person as of late. Rather reclusive, actually, now that she came to think about it. Jenny raised a tanned arm to her hair, running her fingers through the silvery strands. At least people were beginning to stop asking questions. It was all Jenny had really asked for - for people to shush about the rumors, to leave Jenny in peace. Where had she gone? Why had she lied? Dude, didn't she tell that Slayer girl that she was a vampire? How pathetic is Jenny? Dude, do you think she sparkles? LET'S ASK HER.

Eventually people run out of things to talk about, thought Jenny, quiet albeit calm for such a tumultuous time. What with the Triwizard Tournament and new students running about, everyone seemed to be up in arms about everything. Jenny, of course, grew tired of these childish things quickly. Jenny didn't see of the new students as new friends, but rather new, watchful eyes.

Her time away really had done it's job, hadn't it? Jenny took a seat at the edge of the lake, basking int he warm glow of the noontime sun. It wasn't hot, wasn't cold. Seemingly perfect from a distance, so she thought. Jenny's thoughts strayed to her mother. Julie Brooks had always been the hardest on Jenny. She was the oldest - she had the most potential.

Maybe that was why Julie had gotten rid of her so. Away from her family .. Jenny prospered. She thought of the dimwitted days of her past, the foolish words of nonsense she'd utter. She thought of how her mind was filled of nothing substantive: butterflies and cupcakes and sparkly things. Jenny pondered of how she could lie .. and so, so convincingly. Kayden Slayer had believed her - and every word she'd said.

Perhaps Jenny was beginning to believe the lies, too.

Regardless, now it was too late to make amends, for though Kayden had invited Jenny to meet her on the grounds, it appeared Jenny would be spending her lunchtime alone. Not unused to the idea, Jenny rummaged through her bag and pulled out a peanut butter sandwhich she'd stolen from the Hufflepuff table before rushing out onto the grounds.

She took a bite. It tasted like summer. Still didn't sit right in Jenny's heart. And so she began to sing, the sounds carrying around her.

"Got a secret, can you keep it .. hope this one you'll save. Better lock it .. in your pocket, takin' this one to the grave."

A smirk appeared on Jenny's face. It was a bitter one: full of spite.

"If I show you, then I'll know you won't tell what I said .. 'cause two can keep a secret .. if one of them is dead."

Violet Slayer
Fifth Year

Violet Slayer yawned, walking onto the grounds. She was the epitome of boredom at the moment, with absolutely nothing to do. She had nothing to stress about, nothing to worry about - which, of course, some people would see as a positive thing, or even an escape. A momentary escape from the worries of life - a blessing! Except, now that Violet's life seemed to be everything she'd wished for before - ordinary - Violet wanted nothing more than to be extraordinary. Sure, she had a few special talents here and there (at the thought, Violet turned her hair shocking pink just for giggles). But it wasn't anything slightly extraordinary. Everyone knew the Lupin boy ran around with teal hair. Violet wasn't the first. Surely she wouldn't be the last.

It's times like these I wish I had some hobbies. Like .. playing the guitar? Drawing? thought Violet. Vi couldn't help but laugh, though, as something else crossed her mind. Maybe...write?

Yeah, right. She developed a maniacal case of hives just thinking about picking up a Quick Quotes Quill.

Violet sat far away from everyone else, leaning her back on the base of a tree, resting in the shade. She hated the sun. Her hair went back to jet black, and Violet closed her eyes. She thought of her mother. Of her father.

Boring. Boring, boring, boring.

Margo snorted as Mitchell tried to hit on the Beauxbatons girl, something that was even funnier than him trying to insult her. 'Crazy hair girl'? What is he, eight? Wow, Kalvor. I'll never recover from that one.

One thing was for sure, the girl didn't appear to be receiving him well. Tenitivly, Margo got up and began approaching the pair, ready to see Mitchell get his butt kicked yet again.

Avery walked out onto the grounds, completely unaware about where her feet were taking her. She had other thoughts on her mind. Mostly though, thinking of a decent Halloween costume. She shook her head, red hair flying about, and looked up to see where she'd gone. The grounds. Fine with her. She stepped out a bit, seeing quite a few people out already.

She didn't see anyone she knew, although, that only consisted of about four people at the moment. She was walking up towards the group of people until he heard a... rather lame comeback in her opinion... shouted across the grounds to a red headed girl. Avery put a hand to her own mass of red hair which so resembled the other girl's.

She walked over to the other girl, who, in turn, was approaching the Slytherin she saw now that she was closer. When she got close enough, she stepped up beside the other red head and started to follow along. "Oi, fellow crazy hair girl," she said, grinning, "My name's Avery."

"Margo," she said, grinning, as the fellow redhead approached her. At least there was one person with a decent sense of humor in this school. Margo blew a bubble and punctured it with a satisfactory 'POP!' before continuing. "See that Slytherin?" she paused here to make an appropriate gesture, "he's lower than scum and about to get his butt kicked."

Mariane felt a hand on her arm.

"Why hello there" said the boy in green-trimmed robes.

"Zere are plenty of ways to get my attention, monsieur, but your hand on my person isn't one of them." she quipped coolly, gently extracting her arm.

"Is zere, somesink I can 'elp you with?" she asked, looking up at him, arching a perfectly arched eyebrow.

Mitchell raised his eyebrows, he had forgotten how much he disliked the French - no matter how pretty they were. He sighed silently to himself and shoved his hand into the pocket of his robes. Looking at the girl he smiled a fake smile, knowing that it wouldn't look too cheesy. Or at least, Mitchell hoped not.

"Nothing you can help me with. The question is, what can I help you with?" he widened his eyes and flashed the girl a sly smile. Please tell me you did not just do that. Mitchell's throat suddenly felt very, very dry. He gulped and licked his lips.

Spotting Margo approaching him, with a ravenclaw. Mitchell decided that he needed to keep his cool, play it slow. Anything to get at the gryffindor. A part of him did wonder what exactly he had done wrong to deserve what had happened previously in the corridor, but Mitchell wasn't bothered by small details as such. All that mattered to him now was this beauxbaton girl and, well, winning. His mind was set on the task, so much that he would most likely fail. But Mitchell never knew. He didn't like to think of things like that.

Avery laughed. "Okay. I think I'll watch," she said. "I might help out if I know the story," she said slyly, "So what'd he do?" she asked, genuinely curious. She glanced over at the Slytherin in question. Avery made a face at his attempt to redeem himself to the Beauxbatons girl. Yikes. Backfire...

"You know, besides being pathetic at flirting," she added, grimacing. "Oh, and making comebacks," she added as an afterthought, "If that counts as a crime," she said, shrugging. "But that's about all I've seen so far..."

Lithia entered The Grounds making her way to the lake, she sighed gently shaking her head to herself as she looked at the water. Her eyes became a bit watery from her thoughts which were bothering her greatly, she looked around the gasped slightly spotting Grant sitting by a tree. She sat down where she was then looked away, he was the one causing her emotions to go crazy. She bit her lip lightly as she shook her head.

She rubbed the back of her neck thinking, was he mad at her for something, it sort of felt that way. She picked up a rock then chucked it into the water watching the smooth ripples move across the water slowly, she looked down feeling a lump in her throat. Why did she feel so nervous?

Cosette shuffled quietly onto the vast green expanse of the Hogwarts grounds, and was nearly knocked to the ground by two Slytherin second years. "Watch where you're going," she scolded sharply. She had expected the boys to be intimidated by someone in an older year, but they merely snickered at her and walked away. "Damn kids," she muttered as she flattened out the wrinkles that were forming on the shoulders of her Hogwarts robes.

She continued onto the grounds, inhaling the fresh air deeply. To her surprise, the grounds were about as heavily populated as the Great Hall had been. There were a few students from each of the four houses, as well as some from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. Perhaps it was the unnaturally warm temperatures that drew them to the outdoors, especially since it was Halloween. Or maybe it was just the ‘place to be.'

Either way, Cosette was here. But rather than try and butt into one of the many conversations being held at the moment, she imitated what several other students were doing; she moved to a large shade tree and propped herself up against it. She pulled a torn-up piece on which she had written the schedule for the day from her pocket and took a quick glace at it.

Care of Magical Creatures. With Slytherin.

Oh, joy.

((OOC: Mitchie, for your own sake, I hope you never need to get a girl to like you.))

Margo rolled her eyes as she silently recounted all that the narcasistic Slytherin had done. She decided to spare Avery and give her the short version. Besides, did she really need to know all that had happened with Fera?

"What didn't he do? Well for starters, he comes in to the student lounge, and starts insulting us like he owns the place. When we refuse to bow down to him he starting flinging curses - second year curses might I add. In charms he just ASSUMES I'll be partners with him, like I have no better friends, or actually any human offers. Then he cuts off my hair in cold blood, and gets all mad when I preformed a successful charm on him, not even a bad one, either, just a really creative one. Then he tried to crucio me or something! So I confronted him about it - to figure out why he totally hated my guts - and he got mad I was strong enough to stand up to him, so he grabs my wand and calls me a 'weak little girl' and tries to shove me to the ground. I'm just glad I won't take any crap from him."

Ok, maybe it wasn't that short after all.

((OOC: that's actually really skewed, although I did totally WHOOP HIS SORRY BEHIND!))

Avery listened as Margo went on her rant. Laughing at Margo's extreme anger about the whole thing. "So there's no particular reason he just seems to hate you," she paraphrased, barely concealing a grin. She had her suspicions on this, but it wasn't something Margo would particularly like to hear. Still, Avery's mind was taunting, Heee liiikes you, he liiiiiiiiiiikes you, Margo... Now she thought she understood the situation. The Beauxbatons girl was simply a way of making Margo jealous... It just wasn't working. At all.

Of course, she figured she could be horribly wrong about the whole thing, but it seemed a good guess for now. He could just hate her guts and that was that. "So you're just going to go up to him and whoop his sorry behind? (xDD)" she asked, the corners of her mouth turning up in spite of herself. She felt sorry for the poor Slytherin now. Sort of. Even if he did seem utterly pathetic. But that wasn't her problem. She figured she'd tell Margo her suspicions when she wasn't threatening to beat him up. And she'd have to see if they were right by the way he fought Margo. Which could only be accomplished by... "Well, be my guest," she said, stepping aside to let Margo take care of business.

No particular reason? There was a reason, just not one she would admit to herself."Well of course there's a reason. There's a few reasons. 1 - he's a Slytherin git, and I'm a Gryffindor and a decent person. 2 - he's too wrapped up in himself to see straight. 3 - he's jealous that I'm better than him in every way."

Though Margo would like nothing more at the moment then to totally inialite ((OOC: that was sucky spelling)) the pompous jerk, the girl he was so despratly hitting on seemed to be doing fine."Not me - that chick. Does it sound like it's going well to you?"

Plus, she could always help later.

"Uh-huh," she said nodding with a grin. She was finding Margo's anger particularly amusing. She looked back over at the two. Margo was right. The Beauxbatons girl could take it herself. It was getting a little hard to watch. She wondered how he planned to get Margo in the first place.

Well, either way, it wasn't going to end well for the Slytherin fellow, it seemed. "So who is this jealous Slytherin git?" she asked, playing along, and realizing she hadn't mentioned a name yet.

Margo snorted as Mitchell made a particullarly pathetic face. Oh, yeah. That'll impress her. She moved to sit at the base of a nearby tree and then beckoned Avery to join her. Heaven forbid she looked like she was following him! "That vile little createn is Mitchell Kalvor. But please, lets talk about something less nausiating."

Margo brushed a loose chunk of curly red hair from her eyes. "Like the Tournament - did you enter? I did, it sounds like a blast!"

Cosette yawned. The thing about Halloween was that it was supposed to be fun and exciting - an event that most kids, whether you were five or fifteen, looked forward to. Where was the fun in this? Today felt just like any other day, not like a holiday. It was just…

Boring.

And now that the topic had been brought to her mind, what was she going to wear tonight? Surely any costume she could have conjured up would have been too cliché or just plain stupid. Not to mention she needed to find a date before the party. She couldn't show up empty-handed. She'd just have to... not show up at all. When you're a fifteen-year-old girl, being at party without a partner was one of your worst fears.

Sighing, Cosette scanned the premises for someone from her year to talk to. At least that would have made her boring lunchtime halfway enjoyable. When she spotted Grant Winters sitting beneath a tree near where she was stationed, she sprung forward toward him.

"Grant!" she squealed, taking a seat in the grass next to him, "I didn't see you here, or I would've come earlier." She studied him for a moment, and then turned to look out toward the horizon. The sun was high in the sky, but was still bright enough to demand that Cosette shield her eyes in order to see properly. "How are you today?"
