Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

The Delegates Arrive; Year 5, Day 1, Evening

Professor Nate Aphelion
Member Avatar
Deputy Headmaster & Transfiguration Professor

Professor Aphelion stood patiently on the lawn, his hands folded calmly behind him. Dressed in his dress robes, Nate looked quite smart and he hoped the students would do so too. He knew it was trendy to look like one had just gotten out of bed but now was not the time to be "fashionable". He was the first of the teachers to arrive on the lawn and had announced to the entire castle for all to join him to welcome their guests. He knew not how the Headmasters and their students would be arriving but he knew it would be entertaining and worth witnessing. When witches and wizards of different nations got together, there was always a tendency to show off and try to outdo each other with flashy gimmicks and grand gestures. He checked his watch and noted they would be arriving in about half an hour.

Cameron made his way down to the grounds where a large group of students were starting to get together. He was excited to meet the new students from other magic schools. Straining to find Marty, Cameron pulled out his hot pink and white stripped golf hat and placed it on his head - that should make it easier for Marty and Kiki to find him amongst all the black robes.

Kiki fluttered onto the grounds, and immediately spotted Cameron.

"Ma cher, I think that all of Scotland know where you are just based on zat hat alone," she smirked, teasing him.

Kiki hooked arms immediately with him and strained over the students to see.

"Let's push our way to the front." she whispered. "I have to see when my seester gets here. Or, when life as we know it ceasez to exist." said Kiki bitterly, moving her white hair in front of her right shoulder.

"Must you wear zat hat, Cameron? There's new yummy guys that will be arriving soon, from Beauxbatons as well as Durmstrang." she remarked.

be fearless; // EM: THE .GIF QUEEN!

Whistling a moody tune, one that had apparently been played at her mother's funeral (not that she knew for sure), Emma moped onto the grounds, stifling a yawn while she kept whistling, her hands in the pockets of her pretty, flowing dress robes. They were just that: pretty. They were simplistic, never ornate, but the light blue color brought out the icy sparkles in Emma's eyes, and the white, clean dress that Emma had beneath it brought out the white highlights of her hair. She didn't care about standing out amongst the sea of black robes - but if she did, and if she happened to catch the eye of someone, she would not argue.

Still whistling, Emma moved to approach her Head of House. It was common knowledge - well, at least Emma thought so - that she admired Professor Aphelion. He was so smart, and definitely looked it, too, and it made Emma want to study for hours on end just to maybe be half as smart as he was. On a daily basis Emma damned Professor Belmonte. And then she remembered she was fifteen.

Finishing the last notes of her contrite tune, she cleared her throat. "Bonjour, Professor Aphelion. Looking dapper!" Emma didn't blush as she usually did. She was growing up, growing older - and growing braver it seemed.

"There's new yummy guys that will be arriving soon, from Beauxbatons as well as Durmstrang."

"Excuse me, sir," chuckled Em, moving towards Cameron and Kiki. "Ohh, Durmstrang boys," smirked Emma, stepping beside Katriane and smiling at her. They weren't exactly friends, no - but you couldn't exactly face "the Dark Lord" without having a friendly bond with a person. "Aren't you sick of French boys, though? Frankly I'm happy to get away." Thinking of all the Durmstrang boys, she wondered if they were really as cute as they said.

And then Emma wondered if she'd even be able to understand a damn word they said.

"Oh. Hello, Cameron!" added Emma politely. "I have to say, I like your hat. It has...personality."
Love Emma? See; Baby & Tinsley.

Mitchell strolled onto the lawns, a smile spread across his face. How long until they arrive? His eyes darted over the other students, none of whom seemed to be in his house. Ah well. He made his way to the front before he checked behind to see if Sawyer was anywhere near yet. Perhaps I left a little too fast?

Mitchell shrugged, and waited patiently for everyone else to arrive.

Lucy strolled onto the lawn messing her hair up by shaking a hand through it. She scanned the crowd of students and soon spotted Emma, standing with Kiki and Cam, both she knew by sight, but ended up not talking to them much. She noticed the latter's hat with a raised eyebrow and a smile. "Hey guys. Excited?"

Lucy was. She loved meeting new people, and this was her chance to practice some French and Russian. Also, she just loved anything Russian. It was one of the places she'd love to go.

"Is it really, too much?" Cam asked with puppy eyes. His fashion senses were usually pretty good, but if it embarrassed the girls that much...

Quickly Cameron whipped it off his head before someone like Tinsley or Julian saw it. Spiking up his hair with his fingers, Cam squeezed his arms around his girl-friends and smiled. It felt good to have friends like them who accepted him and loved him.

"You can never have too much of French boys!' Cam said with a grin and strained even more to catch a glimpse. Unfortunately it was of nothing since no one had arrived yet.

Turning, Cam smiled at Lucy. He didn't know her very well since she was a Gryffindor, but he had heard really nice things about her from their mutual friends.

"Hey Lucy! Good summer?" He asked casually. Even though it was almost October, it was a good conversation starter.

Lucy grinned at Cam, "Yeah, it was good not to have to think about schoolwork and exams. Me and my bro' caught up on a lot," She paused, the grin faultering for a second. "Apart from the World Cup."

Lucy then could have kicked herself for bringing it up. No one wants to think about that now, when we should be happy. This is the Triwizard Tournement. Lucy fondled her wand absent-mindedly, trying to move her thoughts to the new arrivals, and anything else that came to mind.

Jay strode out on to the lawn, having fixed his hair into a nice fade. He saw Emma, Cameron and Kiki from Hufflepuff standing with Lucy from Gryffindor. He sauntered over, glancing around to see if they had arrived yet.

"Nice hat!" Jay smirked friendly at Cameron. He looked over the grounds to see if he could see Chelsea, he hoped she had gone to her previous class.

"How do you think they'll arrive?" Jay knew that the bigger and the better the entrance, the more impressed people would be. In Africa, the different magical schools always tried to outdo each other and he saw no reason why they wouldn't try to do the same here.

Summer skipped onto the grounds, her hands dug deep into her pockets and her eyes drooping with disappointment. She had attempted to lift her spirits with the reminder that the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons students would be arriving soon, but a hint of remorse still lingered in her voice as she had told her friends that she had decided to skip lunch to study in the common room. But that was the last thing she had wanted to do at the moment. Failure never made Summer want to work harder; if anything, it only made her want to work less.

Dressed in a simple pair of dress robes, Summer strolled down the hill to where a sea of students were lined up. It seemed as if the entire school was on the grounds at the moment. Summer was sure that no one wanted to miss this memorable event. Her dark hair was bounced on her shoulders in loose curls as she approached Professor Aphelion and nodded in his direction, forcing her dried up lips to form into somewhat of a polite smile.

"How do you think they'll arrive?"

As Summer made her final steps down from the edge of the hill that led to where most of the students were standing, the lingering smile broadened at the sound of that voice. She could recognize that voice anywhere, even from under the eerie black lake. Summer had never been down there before, but she was positive that it would not be a pleasant experience.

"Well, it should be something worth watching. The Triwizard Tournament isn't held all the time, after all," she commented thoughtfully, placing herself besides Jayceon and the rest of the group that was composed of Emma, Cameron, Kiki, and Lucy. Summer smiled at all of them, her spirits rising slightly at the thought of foreign students staying at Hogwarts. The idea of a tournament didn't fascinate her as much as that did.

"And if it's not as great as they say it is, I would rather be inside. I'm getting hungry.." she added in a lower voice, rubbing her stomach as she regretted not having lunch now.

Suddenly, the water of the great lake broke, Bannishtar had just risen out of the lake, having taken the time to wash the day's grime from his body. He'd spent all day on the lawn. Blindly, he felt along the shore for his towel, which he reached out for and caught, it having seemingly been floating in front of him. When he took it and wiped off his face, he saw a large tentacle retracting into the water.

"Thank you," he said. A low, gurgling call from the depths of the lake was his reply.

Having fully emerged from the water at the shore, Banni did his best to dry off his head arms and torso, not fussing too much with his body as it would take a while to dry. After one last quick glance around the ground, the centaur, apparently satisfied with his work, began galloping full-speed towards the congregation of wizards and witches up by the castle.

"Gryffindors to me!" he called.

When he had arrived, he gave them a last-minute lecture. He wasn't going to allow them to embarrass the school if he could help it. And he couldn't, but he could try.

"Now," he said to the students of his house, "Remember, all of you that the house of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the respect of your kind for nearly ten centuries. It is up to you if you wish to have that good reputation destroyed in the matter of a few hours, but remember that your behavior reflects poorly on the school, and on myself..." Banni couldn't help worrying a bit about how competent he looked as a Head of House. To Banni, this seemed in part to be a kind of experiment of Bidelia's, and not only did Professor Belleford trust Banni to be as able as any wizard in controlling his house, but there were plenty who had contested his appointment. He realized, of course, that he was getting caught up in the humans' silly politics, but what could he do when their children were in his charge? In any case, regardless of prejudices, the people of the wizarding world had a right to be concerned about who was teaching their children, and so Banni would do his best to put their fears at ease.

"Sullivan and Midgen! Stop rough housing this instant!" he said sternly to a couple of second year boys, "You, boy! Change that snake around that poor girl's neck back into a tie or you will have detention!"

Banni sighed. The pressure of looking good for these people was getting to him, and by the looks of it, it appeared as though they were late. Some nerve!

Addie stepped onto the grounds, beginning to make her way down to the mass of gathered students. Royal purple dress robes billowed around her, complimenting her golden hair nicely. Despite her continued stupor, she didn't want to embarrass her house by looking bad, especially as a prefect. Several first years continued to hang off her, bursting with excitement.

"Alright you lot, we're here, go find your friends." She commented as the first years ran off, somewhat bemused. She'd practically become a babysitter. Addie made her way over to her friends, smiling faintly. "Year's already off to a bang, eh?" She commented, glancing to Em and the others.

Bidelia Belleford made her way onto the grounds, striding confidently towards the crowd, coming to a halt beside her deputy headmaster. The old woman wore a sleek set of turquoise dress robes, matching the colour of her eyes nicely. Generally looking fairly eccentric, the old woman had toned the eccentricity down to mild for the occasion.

"Should be here any moment, hm Nate?" She commented absently, gaze flickering around expectantly.

Sawyer made her way from the lake to where the rest of the student body was assembling. Slowly pushing her way through the tangles of bodies, she made her way to the front of the crowd. Pushing her hair from her eyes, Sawyer noticed Mitchell standing alone. Sneaking up behind him, she nudged him. "Oh hey, long time no see," She joked, smiling up at him.
Shoving her hands deep into her pockets, she suddenly wished she was anywhere but here. More and more students were piling out of the castle. Sawyer looked surly as she awaited the arrival of the new students.

"Professor Bannishtar sir," said the sandy-haired fourth year who had managed to transfigure an hysteric red-haired girl's tie into a python, "I-I...don't know how..."

"What?" asked Banni as the girl continued to cry. The snake remained docile, but it was clear that she was deathly afraid of it.

"I don't know how to change it back..."

Banni sighed again. He walked over to the hysteric girl and bent low to remove the python, which immediately became tense and coiled itself tightly around the centaur's left arm, hissing angrily.

"Um...Nate?" Bannishtar called out. Hopefully the delegates wouldn't...oh no.

A low rumble could be heard from the depths of the Great Lake. Most of the congregation turned to look. Banni, too, looked in the direction of the lake as what seemed like a whirlpool began forming in the middle. Meanwhile, he python on his arm was determined to cut off blood flow.

Kiki smiled.

"Yes...I've never really looked to our countrymen in the love department. My seester does that enough for the both of us, I sink." she said, smiling.

She hooked her other arm through Emma's and said to Cameron.

"We'll find you someone nice to flirt with, Cam-kins. Do not fear. We are here!" she shrilled.

Kiki couldn't actually do anything. But she was human, wasn't she? She couldn't help but look.

Well, she wasn't completely human either.

Merlin.

Lucy, Summer and Jayceon added to their motley crew and everyone around was buzzing with excitement.

Assuming that Bannishtar had nothing more important to say to the Gryffindors once the centaur began reprimanding the younger students, !Xabbu left to find Katriane and their friends.

"Hey guys," said !Xabbu as he approached the spot where Katriane and everyone else was, "Hello Katriane."

!Xabbu meant to do something like kiss her or at least hold her hand, but the low rumbling from the lake caught his attention. A moment later, what appeared to the the wooden mast of a large ship rose out from the whirlpool in the middle. !Xabbu stared, his mouth hanging open. What on earth...?

Ella stood with her fellow Slytherins, every few seconds glancing up at the sky-- after all, it only seemed natural that the schools would be arriving by flight. While she waited, Ella couldn't help but notice how tense the teachers seemed, and even began to grow nervous herself. She touched her thick, dark hair and suddenly wished that she had thought to pull it back, as the wind was making it look even wilder than normal. Now that she thought of it, it probally wouldn't have killed her to press her skirt, either, as it was rather...

Before she could finish the thought, however, she heard a curious sound, almost like something you would expect to hear before an earthquake. She looked around, trying to see where it was comming from, before a first year standing next to her squealed and pionted at the lake, "Look!"

Ella turned around, just in time to see a huge ship rising from the depths of the Lake. Awestruck, she watched as the ship landed and, after only a few minutes, she began to see the shadows of figures moving around inside through the portholes.

Well that was...different...
She muttered to noone in particular.

"What's the matter, Collins?" said Ian in a more playful, less condescending tone that usual, "Never seen a submersible sailboat before?" he asked jokingly, smirking. Of course, he'd never seen one either and was in awe at it as the anchor was cast down and the boarding plank was lowered to the shore.

Ella jumped when she heard her name from behind her- she had been focusing on the forms that were making their way across lawn. She managed to cover her suprise up (or she hoped so, anyway) and turned to face Ian.

"Oh and what, you have? She asked, smirking.
