Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Sawyer strolled onto the grounds, making her way down to the black lake. Potions had not gone well, and she had a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach that this year was going to take its toll on her. As she neared the shore of the lake, Sawyer kicked pebbles into the water, creating a ripple effect on the smooth surface. She flopped down onto a boulder and decided that she really shoudn't do any more flopping, the rock was rough and hard.
She bent down, her thoughts lost a pattern as she gazed into the reflective surface of the dark lake. Picking up a handful of smooth pebbles, she sat back up and began twirling them in her hands, slowly memorizing the smooth, round texture of each stone.

Mitchell ran towards the lake, his mind blank with anger. He did not see Sawyer sat down. His focus was on the nearest tree, once he reached it he punched it as hard as he could. His face pressed against it for mere seconds, as he tried to calm down. Violence never works.

When he was sure it was ok to move, he straightened himself up, and drew out his wand. Mitchell bit his lip. Patronus? It would certainly be calming He wasn't sure if it was the right moment, let alone if it would work. Happy thoughts and all that!

Mitchell drew breath and focused on his happy thought. His and his sister's faces formed in his mind.

"Expecto Patronum" he murmered. Nothing, not even a wisp escaped from the end of his wand. Mitchell felt furious with himself, only this morning had he accomplished this spell. "F*ck's sake"

Calm! He closed his eyes, and wiped out all memory of the past hour. Happy thought...

"Expecto Patronum!" he said, louder this time. Sure enough, a silvery vapour burst from the end of his wand. Mitchell watched in fascination as it quickly changed to form the monkey. He chuckled to himself. I suppose it's quite cute... in its own way.

Sawyer turned at the sound of a large crack. Mitchell was currently punching a tree. Sitting indian style on her boulder, she turned her body and watched in mild amusement as Mitchell began practicing the Patronous Charm rather violently. Twirling a piece of dirty blonde hair between her fingertips, Sawyer began tossing the rocks out of her other hand, one by one they fell to the ground, emitting a soft knocking sound.
This boy has issues, Sawyer thought, not even attempting to hide her amused smirk which spread from ear to ear. She watched as he finally succeeded in creating an actual Patronous, she clapped her hands together lightly, giggling.

Mitchell froze as he heard giggling. He turned towards the lake. Oh fu- He sighed, and strolled over to where Sawyer was sat. "Hey" he muttered, casually. "Something funny?"

Fish bite you or something. Mitchell's mouth twitched, he was trying quite hard not to laugh now he realized what he must have looked like. Punching a tree.

"Not getting lunch then?" he asked. Mitchell looked into her eyes, searching for a trace of what she thought of him, aside from the obvious grin over her face. Mitchell bit his lip, and turned away, grabbing some small rocks from beside him. One by one, he began throwing them into the lake, surprised at the distance the accomplished.

Sawyer ignored his first question, he knew exactly what she thought was funny. Still smiling, she shrugged. "I'm not hungry," She admitted, she rarely ever was. Having to sit in the Great Hall with the youth of the magical society, high-strung and self-loathing was enough to make Sawyer gag. Everyone always had drama, a constant he-said-she-said bullshit that she just couldn't stand.
"What about you?" She asked, pulling out a package of cigarettes and lighting one. Taking a pull on her cancer stick, Sawyer felt a sense of calm rush through her body. It was amazing what one little dose of nicotine could do to her. She held out the package for Mitchell, cocking her eyebrow.

"I don't want to deal with..." he sighed. "People, and I'm not particularly hungry either."

Nice peice of bread. "And I wasn't in the greatest frame of mind after Potions" he shrugged.

He flashed her a small smile and shook his head at the offer of a cigarette. "Nah. Not my thing." he told her. Nothing is your thing...

Mitchell got up, and walked over to the tree, beneath which he had thrown his bag. He took out his schedule, and wandered back over to Sawyer, flipping through it. "Ugh. History of Magic next" he shuddered. Worst lesson ever.

Sawyer shrugged as he refused a cigarette, not in the least bit offended. Taking another deep drag she nodded in agreement, "Potions always has had a way with bringing out the best in people," She said sarcastically, exhaling her smoke into the breeze.
Mitchell went and retrieved his bag and withdrew his schedule, Sawyer moved closer and peered over his shoulder.
'Ugh. History of Magic next!' Mitchell said, and Sawyer heard the distaste coloring his voice. "I'm probably just going to ditch, I have no hope for passing that O.W.L, so what's the point?" She asked rhetorically.
She puffed on her cigarette some more, until the cherry had burnt almost to the filter paper. She flicked it with her thumb and forefinger and it landed, lost amongst the pebbles.

Mitchell smiled. "That's Snecker for you." he shrugged. "I doubt anyone will pass the History of Magic OWL. Why is it so bloody boring?!" he smirked. Mitchell quickly sat down, and tilted his head upwards to look at the sky. His eyes squinted as he thought he saw something flying. Owl?

Mitchell jumped as a letter landed on his lap. It was bright red. Uh - oh. What did I do? Mitchell bit his lip and stared as it began to speak, in his mother's stony voice.

"Mitchell. Your father wanted to know how your magic is coming along. We still belive that you shouldn't have gone to that dratted school in the first place. But that's life."

Mitchell scowled. They NEVER send me letters. Why now? Is this just to criticise Hogwarts?

He listened as the letter continued. "The magic you will be learning should be more advanced this year. Including Patronuses You never did manage a Patronus when your father taught you..."

His eyes narrowed. No, It's just to criticise me.

"Please inform us when you accomplish it. If you accomplish it. Raeli."

Mitchell watched as the letter tore itself to peices, glaring at it angrily, aware that Sawyer had heard all of it. Fantastic. Just, Fantastic.

Sawyer's eyebrows furrowed as she listened to Mitchell's howler. They sent him a letter, about how he's doing at school? She thought incredulously. Sawyer racked her brains, never, not once had her parents asked how school was going, or how anything else was going for that matter.
"Sounds like mummy is worried about her baby boy," Sawyer said jokingly, playfully punching Mitch in the arm. She removed her jacket, revealing a silky off-white tank top and stretched out, letting her pale skin soak up the rays of sunshine.

His eyebrows raised. "Worried? Yeah, right" he muttered, sarcastically. "The only time they'll be worried about me is ....

Forget it. I got nothing."
he shrugged. Forget about them. he told himself. Mitchell turned to Sawyer, grinned, and returned the light punch. His eyes darted to the lake, noticing how the rays of light reflected over the water, giving it a mystical feel. "It's beautiful out here..." he trailed off.

Whoa? You said something was... beautiful. Where did that come from?

MItchell laughed. "That wasn't like me at all"

How is it that with some people, I feel so... calm, yet with others so... angry? His thoughts flashed to Summer, and the previous lesson. No. Forget about her too.

His eyes turned back to Sawyer. I'm with Sawyer right now. And we're not arguing. Simple.

"Worried? Yeah, right. The only time they'll be worried about me is ...Forget it. I got nothing."
Sawyer nodded, she felt the same about her parents. "The only time my parents were actually worried about me is when I disappeared, but I think they were just playing it up because of the spotlight that was put on them..." She ran a hand through her hair nonchalantly.
She studied Mitch's features, he was good looking, which she hadn't noticed before...maybe its the sun, she told herself, glancing up at the blue sky. She sighed happily, "Yeah, it is..." She said in agreement with Mitch, and then laughed at Mitchell's remark, "What's not like you? Complimenting something, or actually enjoying yourself?" Sawyer asked, rolling her head around to look him in the eys, a smile played around the corners of her lips and her eyebrow arched, as per usual.

MItchell chuckled. "Both I suppose. I mean, I do enjoy myself and..." Mitchell winked. "Whatever. And did you say you disappeared?" he asked, his tone taking a more serious note. What happened? Disappeared, that seems pretty serious.

"I understand what you mean about your parents." he quickly added. His eyes scanned over Sawyer. He smiled shyly, and laid down, before quickly sitting up again. "Not a good idea" he chuckled as he nearly slipped down into the lake.

Sawyer sighed, "Yeah, I was ... gone for awhile, that's why I've missed so much school, I only came back last year...and that's also why I dislike Tinsley..." She explained shyly. She didn't like to talk about her time in the forest, it had been an experience which had scarred her, probably for the rest of her life.
Sawyer grinned at Mitchell, leaning her head back onto the boulder and shutting her eyes. "You don't seem like you enjoy yourself much," She stated, opening one eye to witness Mitchell's reaction, "I mean, you just seem so angry all the time..." Sawyer observed curiously.

"Yeah, I was ... gone for awhile, that's why I've missed so much school, I only came back last year...and that's also why I dislike Tinsley..."

Mitchell decided it was probably best to leave it at that. Gone for a while? "Well, Tinsley isn't easily liked" he smiled. "At least to those who object to being a..." he stopped. and frowned as he listened to what Sawyer said next. "I'm not angry all the time..." he muttered, slightly offended. She has a point. "I mean, I don't exactly have many friends at this school. And some people are just impossible to cope with. You must know what I mean, seeing as we both started late and all that?!"

Mitchell grinned. "I'm not angry now.. am I!" he gave her a friendly poke. "Or maybe I am!" he joked.

Do I really come across like that? Mitchell bit his lip. I don't mean to, it's not my fault.

Sawyer laughed, "I grew up with Tinsley, and I know exactly how you feel..." She smiled at him, her grey eyes glittering. "Well, everytime...with the exception of now, that I've seen you, you look peeved..." She shrugged. Reaching down, Sawyer grabbed another handful of smooth stones, and began attempting to skip them across the surface of the lake.
'You must know what I mean, seeing as we both started late and all that?!'
"Yeah, why did you start late...I mean, if its not too bold of me to ask," Sawyer said innocently, looking at Mitchell and smirking.

"It's fine" he smiled. "Well, basically, my father wanted to teach me at home. Which he did for three years. But it wasn't any fun. I mean I learned a lot of stuff faster than I would have done here... but that meant we moved on and did a lot more of what he wanted to teach me. Covering things in lessons that I wasn't meant to learn until I was older." he paused, watching Sawyer for a trace of reaction, before continuing. "I didn't have any say in whether I came here or not either. With my parent's it is their way, or no way. They didn't exactly value my opinions..." he stopped. "I'm here now though. That's all that matters." Mitchell gave a light shrug, and watched Sawyer attempt to skim the small stones across the lake.

"It's more of a flick of the wrist" Mitchell picked up a stone and skimmed it across the water with ease. "See?"

So, you hardly know this girl, and yet, here you are, telling her everything she wants? He rolled his eyes. You have to be more careful who you tell things to. Despite his worries, Mitchell felt comfortable in Sawyer's company. She didn't seem to be the sort of girl who would manipulate him. And she certainly didn't make him feel angry. At all.

Sawyer frowned, skimming through what Mitchell had said about his parents in her head. Their way or no way, sounds like Tinsley-ism.
'It's more of a flick of the wrist...See?' Mitchell's voice intrupted her thought pattern, she pretended to be mildly offended.
"I'm perfectly capable of skipping a stone across water, thank you very much!" She advised him, picking up another stone and flipping it in her hand before sending it sailing towards the lake.
The important point was that she threw the stone pretty far, the sad part was that it didn't even skip the water, but instead landed with a loud plop before it sunk beneath the surface. Sawyer broke out in laughter.
"Or maybe not," She admitted, flashing a smile at Mitchell.

"I'm perfectly capable of skipping a stone across water, thank you very much!"

Mitchell smiled, hoping that she wasn't about to have a go at him. And get myself into another argument today... He smiled as she failed to skim the stone again. Mitchell rolled his eyes, picked up a stone, and moved closer to Sawyer. He placed it into her hand and guided her as to how she was meant to throw. "Try again" he instructed.

Mitchell stayed where he was, looking at Sawyer expectantly.

Sawyer suddenly became tense as Mitchell attempted to teach her how to skip a stone. His hand on hers felt extremely warm and soft.
'Try Again,' He told her, still clinging onto her hand.
Sawyer bit her bottom lip, "Like this?" She asked as she flicked her wrist. She watched as the stone skipped once and then sunk to the lakebed. Frowning, eyes narrowing Sawyer turned to face Mitchell. She was suddenly very aware that they were extremely close and that his hand was still upon hers. "Obviously that didn't work," She said in an fakely accusing tone, looking him full in the face. Hng.

"No it didn't..." he muttered, staring into Sawyer's eyes. He gulped slightly, but still did not move. "You'll get the hang of it eventually" he told her. "Or you could stick with throwing them..." he flashed her a small smile.

Mitchell's heart was racing, he had never gotten as close to a girl for this long before, without breaking away, or somehow managing to ruin the moment. His eyes flitted over her face as he admired her features. She's quite pretty. He concluded. More so than some of the other girls in our year. And she certainly has a great personality compared to... Mitchell snapped out of his thoughts, before he got caught up. It always goes wrong. Somehow.

OOC// Just wanted to check. (:
