| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. The Daily Prophet Year Five - Day One Chaos at the Quidditch World Cup Many dead or injured--Beloved Minister and Head Auror die in the chaos--Self-proclaimed "Dark Lord" apprehended by George Robinson The Wizarding World listened intently on the day of the 134th Quidditch Championship as the 100,000 attendees became captive in a twisted "experiment" that left hundreds dead and countless others injured. Those included in this stifling number were Aurors Anton de Ponte du Lac and Cecilla Lumineux, along with none other than the Minister of Magic, Hugh Logan. The cause of death for Minister was unknown, but his death allowed the release of all the remaining captives within the stadium. Whether or not a citizen of the Wizarding World killed him will remain a mystery. Amaranth, age unknown, is the self proclaimed "Dark Lord" and assumed leader of the Knights of Walpurgis. For months after the initial explosion in the Ministry of Magic, the terrorist group has been the assumed criminals behind countless other crimes against wizarding kind, including the destruction of the Department of Mysteries and the Attack on Hogwarts, which occurred two months before the Quidditch Massacre. "I believe the Wizarding World can breathe a little easier now," said Jacob Surla, Head Auror, "without the mysterious powers of Azariah Amaranth, the Knights of Walpurgis is just another lowly criminal organization that will be abolished." It is unknown how Azariah Amaranth had gained possession of powers which allowed him to do such things as raise the earth itself to block the exits out of the Quidditch Stadium, but wizards were not the only ones to notice the "Dark Lord's" power. Just minutes before the Knights of Walpurgis arrived on the scene, Dementors flooded into the stadium, causing mass panic. "It was a goddamn nightmare in there," commented Russel Gloover, 35. "I was stabbed in the stomach with a knife by a kid- a kid! Everyone was simply against each other! Men for themselves!" Collected in the stadium were approximately one hundred trampled bodies of men, women, and children alike. While the majority of those murdered were done so under presumed dark magic, there still is the fraction of those killed by citizens. Criminal investigations will take place within the near future to find the culprits behind the deaths of the estimated one-hundred innocents, while the remaining number will be pinned on Azariah Amaranth. Even in the chaos within the tournament, there were certain individuals that took independent responsibility and went out on a personal vendetta against the dark lord and his followers. Those most notable for independent bravery were particular students from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Adeline Lumineux, a 5th year Gryffindor and daughter of late Cecilia Lumineux, assisted in the defeat of Azariah Amaranth with powers similar to those of the dark lord. She was unable to be reached for a comment. Leading in the capture of the dark lord was retired Auror, Alastar "Mad-Eye" Moody. Moody discovered through the use of Patronuses, Azariah was able to be injured; leading the remaining members of the Ministry within the stadium to join to defeat him. "What I've done here today is nothing compared to what you have done yourself!" Azariah Amaranth declared just before falling unconscious. Azariah Amaranth was taken captive soon after and placed into the highest security level within Azkaban. With a governmental-wide survey, more than 85% reported that there was no concern at all that the man would be able to escape the prison. However, the other 15% reported that they were skeptical about the ability to keep the dark lord captive. Skeptical views from many aside, Hellius Surla, 5th Year Gryffindor and cousin of Jacob Surla, had this to say: "...what the hell have we learned if we believe that everything will go out as we expect it?" Small, private funerals are scheduled to be held for Ponte du Lac, Lumineux, and Logan. There is no word as to who Hugh Logan's successor will be, but the leading party, The Coalition of Warlocks and Mages, is currently deliberating on who would make the best leader for their party, and for the Wizarding world. ========================================================================== Rare Gift Given to Local Student Flawless invisibility cloak passed down through generations of family by Ricardo Enclave A local student of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry, Tristan Nightshade, has received an exceedingly rare gift as part of an inheritance from his grandmother. The boy's relative sadly passed away at the ripe old age of one-hundred and forty-two and it was only once she had passed that the family became aware of the item's existence. "She had never mentioned it to me growing up," Horatio Nightshade, the boy's father, has said. "But Ma always had a soft spot for Tristan. She'd regularly make the long trip out to Australia to see us and would spend most of her time playing with him." The gift Mr Nightshade received was an invisibility cloak believed to be one of the most flawless in history. Made from the hair of the demiguise, invisibility cloaks render the wearer completely invisible. Whereas normally such cloaks fade over time and eventually lose their power, the accompanying letter from the late Ms Nightshade states that this particular cloak is well over three-hundred years old making it the most powerful of its kind! This cloak has been handed down through our family for close to three-hundred and fifty years and yet it is still as powerful today as it was back then. No one is sure why, but this cloak is something special. Treasure it, read the letter. Some might argue that such a gift is asking for trouble in the hands of a teenager but the parents of Tristan Nightshade swear by their sons honesty and integrity. "Tristan would never use the cloak for anything inappropriate. I trust him implicitly." When asked if they were worried the cloak might become a target for thieves Mr Nightshade just laughed, "Not too worried if I'm letting you interview us about it. But just as an added precaution I've hidden the cloak beneath a very powerful spell and only Tristan knows the key to breaking it. Not even I have the knowledge of how to. The cloak is quite safe here." Tristan Nightshade will be entering his fifth year at Hogwarts school and is the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain and Prefect.
