| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Veronique was getting a little tired of defending herself. The more the students verbally attacked her, the more she wanted to physically attack them. Addie's words rang in her ears. "If you were remotely powerful, you'd let us go and fight us all." She has a point. Why am I scared of a bunch of children? Veronique snorted and rolled her eyes. "Why don't I just let you go, young one? What's your name, anyway? You've got quite a tongue on you, hmm. You'd do wonders with my kind of lifestyle." Veronique paced in front of Addie, throwing her wand from her right hand, to her left hand. "Well. Let's play a game. You want something, I have it. I'm sure we can work out a deal, right?" Veronique smirked dangerously, spinning her web to entrap all of those little, pesky flies. |

Emma watched Veronique throw her wand back and forth and could not stop imagining Veronique dead. It was about the most satisfying thought Emma could muster. She didn't dare look at Hellius' body on the ground, knowing it'd send her to a very, very dark place. It would send her to a place where she would remember her mother, remember her cousin...remember everything. Emma swore she'd never succumb to those dark thoughts always prevalent in the back of her mind, but Veronique was threatening to push Em over the edge. I hope everyone doesn't hate me after this. "Enough of the damn games," said Emma, rolling her eyes. "Life is not one giant game. Don't you get it by now?" |

"Addie Lumineux is my name, and it would be great if you could let me go." She commented, her eyes drifting to Hellius. I have to heal him! He'll bleed out if I don't! Addie thought desperately, managing to hold back her tears. "If this is all one giant game to you, then name your stakes, but leave everyone else out of it." The Gryffindor commented, returning her gaze to the cruel witch in front of her. ooc|| And once again, there you go Jeremiah. xD |

"They're right!" Jay spoke loudly this time in order to be heard clearly. His voice ehcoing around the now cavernous area. "Fight us all, don't try to play games on your rules! Because you're the real coward! Having him bind us so we can't help defend each other! That's cowardice! You're obviously afraid of what we may do!" He was not going to let the others fight this hag alone. They were his friends, or his house mates or his quidditch apponents, or people he went to school with. They all meant something to him and he would not back away in cowdly defeat. |

Veronique once again ignored Emma and only had eyes for Addie. She was...intriguing, to say the least. She was brave and loyal. If Veronique could just maybe dye her hair black and rough her up a bit, Ms. Addie Lumineux would be quite the companion. Far better than that Tinsley Carmicheal, who had left Veronique to die in the woods the previous night. So much for loyalty, right? "If this is all one giant game to you, then name your stakes, but leave everyone else out of it." Veronique paused. "Have it your way, then." She snapped her fingers, and Jeremiah's spell around Addie instantly eased, allowing Addie to once again move. Veronique held Emma's wand at the ready just in case. You never know. "Fight us all, don't try to play games on your rules! Because you're the real coward! Having him bind us so we can't help defend each other! That's cowardice! You're obviously afraid of what we may do!" "Shut UP! Let the big kids talk, for Christ's sake." Veronique rolled her eyes. "Razorus!" She giggled as she sent her curse towards Jayceon. That ought to shut him up. "Anyway, Ms. Lumineux, I'd like to really be enlightened. What separates the dark witches from the oh-so-good ones? What makes you so much more valiant than me?" V shrugged. "If you can give me one good reason for you all to walk out of here, I won't torture Hellius Surla into insanity. And, well, if your reason isn't good enough..." Bits of ceiling still fell, sprinkling everyone with debris. "One spell and the entire ceiling is caving in. You'd be able to run out in time. Your friends? Not so lucky." Addie walked over and knelt by Hellius' side, placing the tip of her wand against his arm. "Episky." She commented softly. She knew she couldn't heal his broken bones, but at least she could stop him from bleeding out. Addie stood slowly, meeting Veroniques gaze. She smiled faintly and walked back over to her friends, standing beside Tris and Em. "My reason? My reason is if the ceiling fell, I wouldn't run out in time. I'd be right here by their sides. And if they were all in my place, and I was the one left against the wall. I'd make them leave. My friends lives, happiness, all that. My friends in general, are more important to me, than my life." |

Finley's eyes were glued upon Addie as she spoke. ‘My reason? My reason is if the ceiling fell, I wouldn't run out in time. I'd be right here by their sides.' What was this? What was she doing? She would stay with them and be crushed by crumbling ceiling, when she'd been given the option to run? Insane, crazy, demented… gallant. ‘My friends in general, are more important to me, than my life.' This girl, this courageous Gryffindor girl whom he'd never even been aquatinted, would rather stay and die a death of great tragedy than to save herself? Though Finley struggled to understand, he could not help but to feel an enormous deal of respect toward her. He was inspired. He didn't know her, but he wasn't going to let her die on his behalf. "Don't try to be bold," he said, "Save yourself… while you still can!" |

Veronique paused. Her expression was very curious. Veronique didn't understand. Addie wouldn't save herself? But...why not? Veronique glanced down at Hellius and then back at the children. Is she stupid? V shook her head, trying to weigh the pro's and con's of letting the children live. Heavy on her conscience was the very specific order to not kill any students, for they were the future of the Knights. Even so, it was obvious that none of them would ever rub elbows with Veronique. Well, maybe. "You really, honestly, feel that way," stated Veronique. She rolled her icy eyes. "Well, I only have the truth to give you. Why would you want any less?" Smirking, Veronique began to pace. "The truth is that nearly everyone in the room is hiding something. Everyone's not who they say they are." She looked at Emma then, very specifically as if she knew something Emma didn't. "The important thing is to separate fact from fiction. What's real?" Veronique flicked her wand and the ceiling began to fall apart rapidly, rubble falling at their feet. The candles hanging on the walls began to shake. An explosion went off at the other end of the corridor, blowing smoke and bits of wall everywhere. The ground shook violently. Everything was falling apart before their eyes. "What's real, and what's not?" Veronique flicked her wand again, and the students all fell from the walls. Another moment passed and Veronique chuckled, observing her damage. One moment she flicked her wand, and the next moment she was gone. Emma's wand fell to the floor with a clang. Edited by Emma Gray, Feb 9 2009, 08:40:05 PM.

Emma scrambled for her wand and instinctively went into action. The walls entire structure was falling apart before their very eyes. Em slid off the walls, looking amazingly furious as she observed the damage. There's no time for this! She shrieked as a chunk of ceiling landed directly in front of her. "Let's go!" she commanded, glancing back at her friends fiercely. She wasn't going to leave without them - not after Addie's speech. All they had was each other. And sure, Veronique may be right. We may have our secrets. But we're strong enough friends to accept each other, even with those secrets. Emma rushed to Hellius first. She winced, but didn't look at him for very long. He looked peaceful, and amidst the chaos, it was a very sobering image. Emma levitated him with a quick flick of her wand and rushed to Addie, grabbing her hand. "We can get out from where we came in -" The ceiling kept crumbling around them. "- because she didn't seem to have enough sense to explode both ends of the corridor." "Stupid bitch!" screamed Emma. She glanced back at her friends. "I'm not leaving without you guys!" Edited by Emma Gray, Feb 9 2009, 08:40:23 PM.

Addie couldn't help laughing as her friends were freed, relief bubbling up inside her. As Em grabbed her hand, she grabbed a hold of Tristan's hand. "We should all grab hands! We have to make sure no one is left behind!" Addie called above the roar of the collapsing corridor. |

"Except for Hellzy. He'll just kind of...you know, hang there," said Emma. Seeing Addie so relieved made something in Emma lighten. It was contagious. Emma smiled. Her stress began to melt away...along with the First Floor Corridor. She grabbed Addie's hand, and with her other hand she held her wand, making sure Hellius was alright. "One...two..." Emma and her friends, hand in hand, ran out of the First Floor Corridors just as, with a deafening roar, it collapsed. ooc| I GM'd everyone. I hope no one minds. =X I can edit. ^-^ |

Banni raced up the stairs as fast as he could. Not only was it difficult for someone on four legs to climb stairs--the body of a horse was not the most graceful thing--but Banni still had an arrow stuck in his hindquarters from the earlier battle. It still hurt like hell, too--even more so due to having had to bound up the stairs. Just as Banni and Firenze managed to reach the top of the stairs, however, Several students ran past, and the ceiling caved in with a thunderous CRASH. "Watch out!" Banni yelled. Banni and Firenze reared back on their hind legs just in time to avoid being crushed, pivoting 180 degrees back towards the steps--out of the way of all the rubble. Dust and debris filled the air. The two centaurs coughed. "What in the name of Ixion--" Banni exclaimed, "The students! There is a hospital on this floor, where they take care of the sick and injured..." "Perhaps it is undamaged," said Firenze, "is there another way we can go to get there?" "My room," said Banni, "Nate had a floo system installed that connects my pond to all the fireplaces in the castle." "Floo? Fireplace?" asked Firenze, in a state of urgent befuddlement. "Never mind," said Banni, starting for the stairs that they'd just climbed up, "You'll see." Banni grunted going down, as it was even harder on him than going up. He managed to barely succeed in not slipping and falling the rest of the way down. Firenze, too, followed with some difficulty. |

He had been watching with silent interest as the vents before her unfolded. He did not feel the need to get involved, confident that Veronique could handle herself quite capably. The various level of threats thrown forward by the students was quite comical; none of them could back it up with any real ability, exept perhaps Mr Surla. But all thoughts were forgotten when the words were uttered: "...filthy pureblood..." by not one but two apparently pureblooded girls, both textbook blonde types. His eyes narrowed to slits as he eyes the pair off, both having no idea as to how such opinions infuriated him. Ah, now see, you've gone and done it now sweetheart. You've crossed a line that is going to take a great deal of pain, blood and whatever else I feel inclined to inflict on you to uncross. He took two mental pictures, vowing he would get his opportunity to make them repent. After his failure to break that muggle loving fool in Warehouse Six he was eager to make up for lost time. He recognised one as being the daughter of fellow Knight Elodie Gray, Emma, if he recalled correctly. And the other, the one he felt looked strangely familiar, was kind enough to introduce herself As Addie Lumineux. Lumineux....have I heard that name before...? Again he could not place it but he knew that knowing both their names made it infinitely easier to track them down when the time was right. Not wanting to be caught in the collapsing corridor, Jeremiah vanished into thin air as he followed after Veronique. |

Lucy surveyed the remaining damage from the invasion of the first floor. It was pretty much unrecognisable, and the last of the unsettled dust was going up Lucy's nose and down her throat, making her want to cough. She tried to clear her throat, but it wouldn't budge. Why did she want to leave, anyway? She was perfectly fine where she was. Maybe taking up a little room in the busyness of it all, but she could have helped the nurse. After all, her mother is a Healer. She sighed, and thought she wasn't there for a reason, was she? Lucy could make herself useful and stay out of the way. |

Stumbling out from the hospital wing, Iris surveyed the damage from earlier. The corridors were in shambles and looked difficult to cross. A piece of drywall fell next to her and Iris screamed out of surprise. She scattered to the nearest wall and clutched her heart. "Give me a heart attack, why don't you?"Iris incoherently mumbled to herself. She hoped she would get out of the corridors alive, and wouldn't be attacked by another set of masked men and women. Trying to make her way through the rubble, Iris jumped as she heard another sound from across the corridor. She hid behind a fallen piece of ceiling and gripped on the sleeve of her shirt until her knuckles turned white. After five minuets, she decided that no one was there and she was just paranoid. Moving through the besmirched corridor, shaking with fear. If one of those masked people were to appear I'd be royally screwed, Iris thought, specially given I don't have a wand. After five minuets of trying to make her way out of the damaged corridor, Iris finally exited the first floor corridors. Edited by Iris Vibora, Feb 15 2009, 04:11:59 PM.
