| Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice |
| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Tinsley, with her mouth open, stepped out of her discreet hiding spot between the black, slender trees. She could hardly believe the events which were beginning to unfold before her eyes - men raised above the ground, dragons roaring, and bright, gleaming lights emminating from the wands. Never before had Tinsley heard of such a thing occuring, and her shock was clearly painted on her face. "What is happening?" There was a flash of bright light between the pair, and then white smoke flowed from Alphonse's wand. The smoke seemed to take shape, but it was of a person who Tinsley had never before seen. Tinsley refused to blink. Not quite as solid as bone, but certainly visible, was the image of a man, who was clearly enjoying the absolute shock and denial of Alphonse. Shocked, Tinsley stared on, not exactly sure as to what they were saying (her hearing was horrible), but interested in their body language all the same. She saw the tenseness of Alphonse, and the desperate way his mouth lay open. Something ominous hung in the air, but Tinsley's curiosity distracted her from the lingering doubts she had in her mind. And then Tinsley's heart stopped. Her heart absolutely stopped. Mom! Mommy! Mommy! Tinsley thought about this moment for a long time. She had always wondered if she'd ever look upon her mother's face again, or feel her sweet touch. Tinsley had realized it was impossible, but - but - "MOMMA!" screamed Tinsley. She regretted it soon after, but she couldn't honestly hold it in. It was her first instinct to extend her arms as well, as if reaching for a hug which would never be returned. B-But..that's my mom! Except it wasn't. She was a mass of shadows, like a common fog or cloud. Tinsley was shaking, her lips trembling. She ignored !Xabbu and Addie, Ian and Alphonse, and then paused. What does my mother have to do with Alphonse de Ponte du Lac? Tinsley's eyes narrowed, suspicion growing inside of her like a cancer. WHAT does my MOTHER have to do with THAT SCUM? "I killed all of you! You can't be here! All of you go back to Hell! C-cora? N-no...I-I'm sorry..." That bastard...killed my mother. I'LL KILL HIM! "Alphonse," she said in her familiar voice - the one that had always been so comforting to Tinsley, even in its cruelest tones, "looks like you were a bigger fool than I was for ever thinking that I loved you. For now it has come to pass--your end is near." She laughed, and Tinsley winced. Loved him? Loved him?!! Cora's laugh felt like a knife to her heart. WHAT'S GOING ON? "MOM!" Tinsley ran forward desperately, tears beginning to stream down her face again. She wiped them away angrily. "MOMMY! IT'S ME! IT'S TINSLEY!" |

Ian didn't know what to think about all this. All of these people...are people Alphonse killed? That bastard! And now he was pleading with them. What was he afraid was going to happen? Ian looked to Uncle Leon, in hopes that he would continue what he was saying. "MOMMA!" someone screamed. Ian looked left. It was Tinsley. "MOM!" She had her arms stretched out desperately as she called out. "MOMMY! IT'S ME! IT'S TINSLEY!" Ian followed her line of sight, and found that she was calling out to Cora. Of course, he thought. That's why she looks so much like Tinsley. And Alphonse killed her. And now Tinsley's mom was laughing cruelly. She seemed as though she felt vindicated. Cora looked down upon her daughter, and didn't seem surprised in the least to see her. "Tinsley, dear," she said, "Don't worry. Everything will be made clear soon." She returned her piercing gaze to Alphonse. "Ian," said Uncle Leon, tearing Ian's attention away from Tinsley and Cora, "Listen. Alphonse killed me so he could get his hands on the very wand you now hold in yours. Together, they unlock a very special secret beneath the Ponte du Lac estate. I knew what he was up to so I made sure you got the wand in my will, so you can blame me in part for why he'd after you...still I realize there's more to it. "No matter," he said, "Ian. You've got to get out of here. Cora, and I, and all of us can delay him for a moment, but only a moment. Do you understand? Take your friends and ru--woah!" WOOSH! Something fast sped right through Uncle Leon. The next thing Ian saw was Alphonse, standing in shock and pain and seeming to find breathing difficult...with an arrow in his chest. WOOSH! And then another flew at him, and he gagged, and coughed and sputtered. WOOSH! And another, and he gagged, and coughed and sputtered all over again. WOOSH! And another, and another, and another. "Change of plans," said Leon, "Bye everyone!" And then he, and Cora, and all of the dead disappeared in a great wave of white smoke. The golden line disappeared, and Alphonse fell over, bleeding from at least ten arrow wounds. The darkness hit Ian moments afterward...he could hear yet another voice. Pain seared in his chest. "Split from the whole...let this piece of me fester in you..." It was Alphonse's voice. Ian's chest felt as if it had split open in a hundred criss-crossing lines. Then, he blacked out completely. |

Tinsley peered up at her mother, and her outstretched arms fell limp at her sides. "Tinsley, dear," she said, "Don't worry. Everything will be made clear soon." Tinsley dared not to blink to prevent her mother from slipping away. She wanted to look upon her face forever, to just soak it in. Tinsley never thought her mother would leave her abandoned, but that was what happened... WOOSH! Something fast sped right through the masses of shadow, and Tinsley couldn't find the strength to scream anymore. She spluttered at once, gagging, her hands around her throat as if to strangle herself to stop her from seeing everything, but it was really only to calm herself. Alphonse de Ponte du Lac was dying. Arrow, after arrow, after arrow - Tinsley finally found her voice and shrieked, a new cause for pain arising. Her mother vanished, and nothing could allay the absolute and total desertion Tinsley felt. "NO! Come back...come back..." Her voice, which had started strong and stern, faded into a mere whisper. "...Mom..." She couldn't describe the sense of abandonment which overwhelmed her, and as her mother zoomed away, Tinsley felt absolutely no closure. She knew not why Alphonse had killed her mother, or why her mother had loved him, and Tinsley was sure she'd never know. And a part of Tinsley urged her to back up, and run. This is because she knew the truth was beginning to set flame to her insides with such an intense fury that she hardly trusted her wand on her person. She knew that if she approached Alphonse, he would have much larger problems than ten arrows in him. But instinct took over. With each WOOSH, Tinsley fell to the ground to save herself. She put her hands over her head, dropped to her knees, and bent down low onto the ground, pressing her forehead into the cold soil. |

Hellius stared at Constanta's body, not entirely paying attention to the fact that she was naked, but more to the wounds that were stricken across her body. Cuts, bruises, and what looked like an internal redness [a cruciatus curse, perhaps?] that was scourged across the werewolf's body. As the centaur approached him, he was not at all paying attention. It took Hellius a minute to wake himself up and to the task at hand, and when the professor asked for his jacket, he nodded, and slipped his arms from the sleeves of his leather jacket. Draping it over Constanta, he got close enough to feel, to sense a presence within her. He backed away, looking down on her with a slight amazement. "How is she not dead? She's a werewolf, but even with this amount of damage..." |

ooc|| Man I've got catching up to do! bic|| Everything was happening in slow motion. Alphonse standing up, pointing his wand at her, the killing curse leaving his lips... It was over. But then there was Ian. He ran forwards, stopping between her and that fatal curse. No! He would be killed, he would- "IAN! NO!" She screamed, reaching out to pull him out of the way... Addie stopped, the green light was gone, gold taking it's place. Ian was alive. She stepped back, wiping the tears she previously hadn't noticed off of her face. Ian was alive. The girl shook her head at !Xabbu, unsure of what was happening herself. "No idea!" But we're alive, that's the important thing. The Gryffindor girl stepped back, watching the scene unfold. She couldn't help feeling sorry for the crying Tinsley, as she saw her mom again. She couldn't help having a new found respect for the girl, from the selfless way she'd acted, during their time in the forest. And then, as soon as it had started, the 'ghosts' were leaving. Arrows sailed past them, striking Alphonse. Addie hit the ground quickly, watching the dark wizard go down. Her eyes widened as Ian went down with him. "Ian! IAN!" Addie called, crawling over to the boy and shaking his shoulder lightly. He hadn't been hit by an arrow, had he? It didn't look like it. So what had happened? |

Tinsley tried to catch her breath. She dug her forehead into the soil, and it was cold and wet. It was comforting against her forehead, so plagued with confusion and distress. Tinsley was sure she had been dreaming the entire length of the night, and it had never happened. It was as intangible as a dream. Her mother had never appeared, and Alphonse de Ponte du Lac was as prestigious and honorable as ever. Constanta was okay, and alright, and Addie, Tristan, and Emma were Tinsley's sworn enemies. And her mind was hers - not to be shared with anyone, especially not the likes of a so-called, self proclaimed lord. "Ian! IAN!" Thoughts and hopes of dreams shattered like glass. Tinsley's head lifted from the soil swiftly, and Tinsley saw two of Addie and Ian as she crawled towards them, her already sensitive knees scraping against the floor of the forest. She made her way beside Addie and stared down at Ian, distress settling within her, unable to be lifted. It was like a fog which manifested itself in her thoughts, and was beginning to spread like a cancer into her soul. It was threatening to destroy her completely, and if Constanta and Ian were both to leave her, it would win the battle for Tinsley. She wouldn't let herself lose. She, too, shook Ian, a little too roughly for someone which should have taken into consideration that he had fell from a great height. Tinsley didn't think of much, except her dire need to see some sort of life in Ian stir. She glanced at Alphonse as she shook Ian. He had fallen over, and was bleeding. Tinsley wasn't sure if he was alive, or dead, but she did know that she had quite a few things to say about him. "You!" she snarled. Her eyes had cried themselves dry. She had no tears left to cry, but several words to say. "You. You killed her. You stole her from me. You stole everything from me." Tinsley drew a sharp breath, assuming Alphonse was dead, but continuing on anyway. It felt too good to stop. "And one day, I'll find out the truth. I'll find out the truth, and you'll roll around in your grave." Tinsley knew there was no validity to her empty, bottomless words, but it comforted her greatly to say everything she'd ever wanted to - well, almost everything. She inhaled deeply and then shook Ian again, much gentler this time. |

Addie frowned, placing her hand against Ian's neck. He still had a pulse. She hesitated before placing a gentle hand on Tinsley's shoulder. "Ian's okay.. But he needs to be taken to Hospital Wing.. Tinsley... I'm sorry about what happened.. with your mum and all... but, she didn't exactly look sad.. I mean, she looked kind pleased that she got to come back and get some sort of revenge on Alphonse... Maybe she's happy..." Addie paused, trying to console the girl. She glanced around before slowly getting to her feet, offering her hand to the Slytherin girl. "I don't think that Constanta's dead. So what we need to do now, is find her." Addie paused, pointing her wand at Ian quickly. "Mobilicorpus." She said softly, carefully levitating the boy's body into the air. Someone needed to take charge, she was going to step up to the plate this time around. "!Xabbu, could you please take Ian back to the castle? I doubt the centaur will give you trouble, so you should be fine. Tinsley, we're going to look for Constanta, okay? Give Alphonse a few good kicks in the face, and let's go." She commented gently, yet firmly. ooc|| Ian, hope you don't mind! Feel free to change it. Edited by Addie Lumineux, Feb 7 2009, 12:37:19 AM.

For a few moments, Tinsley gently rocked Ian, knowing that she had to be strong. She had to rise up and face her problems, challenging them. That was the difference between her and others. Some people would give up, or bravely fight until their death. Tinsley was strong enough to continue on but smart enough to know when the fight was over - and, when it came to her friends, the fight was never over. Maybe she's happy..." Tinsley looked at Addie. At first, she looked mildly confused, as though she should glance over her shoulder to check if Addie was even talking to her. No one, especially from another house, had ever spoken so gently to Tinsley. They all regarded her as some sort of monster, which she had indeed become over the years, but seeing her mother had softened her. She had dark, vile secrets (coincidentally just like her mother), but Tinsley's face instantly softened at Addie's touch. "One can only hope," she murmured wearily, glancing at Ian. Addie offered her hand, and Tinsley looked at it curiously for a moment before getting up on her own and wiping her dirt covered hands on her clothes. She avoided Addie's eye contact, instead choosing to look at the ground as she silently willed herself not to blush. "!Xabbu, could you please take Ian back to the castle? I doubt the centaur will give you trouble, so you should be fine. Tinsley, we're going to look for Constanta, okay? Give Alphonse a few good kicks in the face, and let's go." "Sounds like a plan," muttered Tinsley. "Wait. Wait a second," said Tinsley suddenly, looking over her shoulder. She felt as though someone was watching her, waiting in the shadows. She felt hot breath against her neck...but part of her was wondering if it was just her and her imagination. "Wait...Addie. Where did those arrows come from?" ...Uh oh. |

The girl frowned, pausing and glancing to the trees, wand ready at her side. "...That's a good point... Umm... Arrows generally mean Centaur..." She murmured quietly. The question now, was which Centaur? Banni, or the herd? ooc|| I just had a thought. Hey, Tinsley? When Addie's mum gets killed, maybe Tinsley could find out, and remember this, and they'd kind of have some sort of relationship? Like, maybe not friendship, but respect/understanding? |

"I am not the one to make a sound judgment on that, Mr. Surla," said Banni as he bent down to lift Ms. Lupei and carry her in his arms, "However, I will simply count my blessings that she is still alive. I am more interested in what happened to her, but I'll leave that inquiry until I know she is safe at the hospital." Banni turned in the direction he wanted to run in as fast as he could: towards the castle. "I'll be returning to the castle now, Mr. Surla," he said, "you should consider doing the same before long." With that, Banni raced back towards the castle. He was worried about the flashes of light he'd seen, but he knew that Constanta's life was a more urgent matter. |

"I don't think that Constanta's dead. So what we need to do now, is find her." Addie paused, pointing her wand at Ian quickly. "Mobilicorpus." She said softly, carefully levitating the boy's body into the air. "I think there is a very good chance she is alive," said !Xabbu, "If what we have seen is true, and those ghostly-beings that we have witnessed are really those that Alphonse had killed...well, I don't think I saw Constanta amongst them, did you?" !Xabbu had watched the entire ordeal in awe. Unlike his friends, !Xabbu had not been raised in the magical world, and so it often hard for him to tell if things such as he had witnessed were strange even to those who knew more about magic than he did. Still, judging by the reactions of his friends, even they had never seen such a thing happen before. Addie said that the dead could not be brought back to life...then what have we just witnessed? he thought. Still, there were more pressing matters. Alphonse was clearly dead. Magic or not, no human being could survive such an onslaught. And Ian, for reasons unknown, was no unconscious in perhaps in need of medical attention. "!Xabbu, could you please take Ian back to the castle?" Addie asked him, seeming to take charge of the situation, "I doubt the centaur will give you trouble, so you should be fine. Tinsley, we're going to look for Constanta, okay? Give Alphonse a few good kicks in the face, and let's go." She commented gently, yet firmly. "Yes, of course," !Xabbu, being strong physically but often having trouble with magic, didn't want to try and levitate him all the way. Plus, he could run faster with the boy in his arms if he did not have to concentrate on maintaining a spell, so he made to pick the boy out of the air, as Addie's spell had lifted him. Only, something else caught his eye. Blotches of brilliant scarlet were beginning to seep through Ian's white undershirt. "He's bleeding..." said !Xabbu. There appeared to be a large wound on his chest. How did he get that? !Xabbu meant to inspect the wound, to see how bad it was, but as soon as he touched Ian's skin, a shock ran through his body. And then, in that moment, without a single physical sign with his body that he'd seen or heard anything, he understood. He remembered. There was a voice. It said, "Relinquish your pain unto me." "Wait. Wait a second," said Tinsley suddenly, looking over her shoulder. "Wait...Addie. Where did those arrows come from?" The girl frowned, pausing and glancing to the trees, wand ready at her side. "...That's a good point... Umm... Arrows generally mean Centaur..." She murmured quietly. "Quite right," said a voice from beyond the trees. The owner of the voice came out moments later, into the light of the clearing. It was a centaur of pale blonde hair and white body. He was armed with a bow and a quiver of arrows. Following behind him were several more, including the one that had accosted the students earlier: Bane. !Xabbu did not react as he might have before. Instead of backing away in fear, he merely stood, knowing somehow that the centaurs would not hurt him. It wasn't as if he knew the future or anything, it was just as though he could feel their intent. "Finally," said Bane, stopping before Alphonse's bleeding corpse, "we have our revenge." Many of the centaurs behind him cheered. Bane then unsheathed a small stone knife from his belt. He lifted Alphonse's head by his blonde hair (which was caked with blood). The bearded centaur lowered the knife to Alphonse's neck. But a pale hand caught the other centaur's arm. "No," said the palamino centaur, "we've had our revenge, but let us not resort to barbarism." Bane grunted, a sign of begrudging understanding, and let go of Alphonse's head. The palomino centaur turned to speak with the humans. "Do not fear us this night, humans," he said, "We are overjoyed to have finally vindicated the blood of those that have died because of this man. "Excuse me," said !Xabbu, "but what of our Professor, Bannishtar?" Bane spoke this time. "According to Firenze," he nodded at the palomino centaur, "Bannishtar went off to take care of his own herd." !Xabbu nodded, thinking he understood what that meant. "I believe the one you were searching for," said Firenze, "has been found by now, alive or dead, by Bannishtar. As I've said before, he's helping his own herd now. And he has aided ours, though long ago we banished him from us. Therefore, it is only right that now we aid his herd in return." Without a word, Bane lifted Ian into his arms. "If I am to be a simple pack mule to these rotten foals," he said, "then I may as well be one to the rotten foal what was brave enough to challenge me." Firenze dropped his entire body to the ground next to Addie and Tinsley. "We will take you back to the castle," he said, gesturing to the girls to climb on his back. "Wait a moment," said !Xabbu running over to where Alphonse had fallen. He picked up Alphonse's wand and showed it to the others, "One of those phantoms said he was killed for this wand's twin, which Ian possesses. I think there is something important, perhaps to Ian, about these two wands. I'm going to leave this for him when we get to the castle." With that, !Xabbu climbed atop the back of a brown-bodied centaur and awaited the others to do the same. "Thank you," said !Xabbu. "Just be glad that we are in such a charitable mood," said the brown centaur. ((OOC: Either Tinsley or Addie can godmode us to the grounds.)) |

ooc| Good idea, Addie. I like it. ^-^ "...That's a good point... Umm... Arrows generally mean Centaur..." Tinsley's eyes widened. Uh oh. "Finally," came a voice from the shadows, "we have our revenge." Tinsley jumped nearly a foot into the air, grabbing onto Addie and using her as a shield. However, this night there was something distinctly different with the dawning of a new day. The centuars appeared to mean no harm, and even affirmed the fact that came in peace. Tinsley looked at Alphonse pityingly, even as one centaur put a knife to his throat, later backing away. Barbarian? I would have done it...or would I? Tinsley finally let go of Addie. I would have never done half the things I did tonight. I would have never looked upon Tristan and Addie, and even Emma, even !Xabbu, and considered them an equal. I would have never... Climbed onto a centaur. "Just be glad that we are in such a charitable mood," said a brown centaur. "Oh, oh, I c-can...walk..." said Tinsley weakly, but while she climbed on the back of one centaur. It was then that she put all biased aside (although the thought of what Julian would say crossed her mind several times) and situated herself, draping her arms around the chest of a man while settling her legs against the hips of a horse. She felt a connection - a strange connection on a different kind of level. It was as though, simply by being so close to something - someone, rather - she felt that maybe she wasn't so alone in the world. "Thank you," she muttered. Addie and !Xabbu better keep this to themselves...how embarrassing. |

ooc|| ^^ Tinsley would go back to her normal self, it seemed inevitable. She was already using Addie as a human shield after all. But despite that, she still had the feeling that Tinsley was a little softer. Something only noticeable to those who'd shared the experience with her. Addie couldn't help the smile that jumped to her face. Banni had Constanta, and the herd was going to guide them safely out of the forest. Everything had turned out for the best it seemed. The girl glanced back to the fallen wizard, a chill running down her spine. It seemed that next year she'd be seeing the rumored Threstals. Addie bit down on her lip lightly, before carefully climbing onto Firenze's back with Tinsley. She could feel a certain calm settling over her. Shock most likely. Alphonse was dead, she'd seen a man die. But if it hadn't been him, it would have been her and Ian, and everyone else in the clearing."Thank you." She murmured as the Centaur stood and made their way out of the forest. Edited by Addie Lumineux, Feb 7 2009, 09:41:36 PM.
