Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Olivia joined hands with Lucy and ran with her and Emma out of the school. Her mind was numb. She focued on the wind in her hair and the feeling of adrenaline coursing through her body. This could be the last time she ran across the grounds; Olivia wanted to enjoy every moment. She winced as the trees thinned once more, and the early morning sun rose over the school.

"There you are," said Banni, "I was wondering were you might be, Mr. Surla." The centaur knew that Mr. Surla, too, would be out this night.

Banni pointed to the naked girl.

"Your jacket, if you please," he said, "let's try to preserve this girl's dignity if we can." Centaurs didn't care about the supposed indignity of nakedness, but he knew that the girl might care if she were seen when she was brought to the castle. "We need to hurry back."

!Xabbu stepped forward, brandishing his wand.

"I'm staying as well," he said, "because I know you don't plan on talking your way out of this."

Ian sighed with frustration.

"Well if you both are too stupid to save yourselves," he said, smirking, "that's not my fault."

It's cute that everyone thinks they can be a queen, but remember who came FIRST.

Tinsley quivered in the shadows, silently begging Addie and !Xabbu not to give in, and leave Ian alone. Ian, what is wrong with you? Do you even know what you're up against? Tinsley lifted her bleeding arm to her mouth and sucked on it, her blood filling her mouth. It tasted bitterly sweet, and Tinsley withdrew her arm, smacking her lips. She watched the three teenagers, her wand in her pocket.

I'll die. Are you there, Azariah? You'll just have to kill me, then. Because if anything happens to them - even Addie, and even !Xabbu, I'm going to intervene and help. How could I ever have that on my conscience? Tinsley rolled her eyes, applying pressure to her arm. What little conscience I have?

Alphonse smirked.

"Well," he said, "I was hoping to get you alone, Ian, so we could talk this out. But you and your friends have elected instead the way of pain."

Alphonse lept out of the tree and landed on his feet with a thud. He raised his wand.

"Oh don't worry," he said to Ian, "I'll only kill your friends. And then, Ian, you'll realize that if only you'd had the good sense to come with me willingly, then they needn't have died at all. You, lucky you, I'm only going to make you beg for salvation. And when you do, Azariah, being a kind and merciful lord, will kindly oblige. Every man has his breaking point."

Alphonse put his hand on the rapier sheathed at his hip and withdrew it. As soon as it was free from its scabbard, the thin blade burst into flames, illuminating the dark forest.

"You should have listened to my brother," he said, pointing his fiery sword at Addie. Without warning, he let out a battle cry and rushed at the Gryffindor girl, brandishing his fiery weapon.

Her eyes widened drastically, momentarily frozen. What could she do against the grown wizard? Addie gripped her wand, stumbling backwards, wand still glowing faintly...

Of course!

"ELEMENTIUM!" Addie managed to gasp out...

I know I didn't really read up on you, but please, please help me!!! She thought desperately, shutting her eyes as a blinding flash filled the surrounding area. The whole clearing appeared white for a long, drawn out moment, before returning to it's original darkness.

The young girl scrambled backwards while she had the chance.

Alphonse screamed as he was blinded by a light that had seem to come from nowhere. He slashed with his fiery rapier, but he felt it hit nothing, as he shielded his eyes with his wand arm.

Addie forced herself to her feet, aiming her wand at the man. It occurred to her, that once again, she'd been inches away from death.

"Expelliarmus!" She said firmly, hoping to disarm him before running towards the man and crashing into him. She hoped that her slight frame would be enough to knock him over in his disoriented state.

"Expelliarmus!"

Alphonse felt the hilt of his sword fly from his grip. Before he could even process what had just happened, however, something short, thin, and relatively small hit him in the stomach, toppling him over in his disoriented state.

The dark wizard scrambled to his feet. He could see somewhat, but his vision had not fully returned to him. Everything was fuzzy. Still, he saw the girl not far from him. He pointed his wand.

"You little bitch!" he screamed, his face was a mask of malice, "Avada Kedavra!"

There was a rushing sound, and a brilliant green light filled the dark void of the forest.

Ian hadn't managed to shield his eyes in time when a bright light seemed to radiate from Addie's very person. To Ian it seemed the light of oblivion. It blinded him for several seconds, and all he heard was the sound of some kind of struggle and an "Expelliarmus" from Addie. He heard the sound of metal hitting the ground and when he was finally able to see somewhat, Alphonse had his wand pointed at Addie. His eyes were squinted with pain and tears (much like Ian's own eyes right then) but his face was full of fury.

"You little bitch!"

Ian started running his wand arm stretched out before him in order to engage Alphonse directly if he could.

"Avada--"

Ian had just crossed right in front of Addie, directly in the line of Alphosne's fire. Ian should have known it was too late for him to do anything, but logic had failed him some time ago, so he stood with his wand arm out, ready to face his doom.

!Xabbu, too, had been blinded by Addie's light, but he had also recovered in time to see Alphonse with his wand pointed at Addie, and Ian running to intercept him.

"Avada--"

"NO!" screamed !Xabbu. All this happened in a split second.

"--Kedavra!"

The light from Alphonse's sword had gone out when it was magicked out from his grasp, and so the once-again dark forest was yet again filled with brilliant light--this time an ominous green. There was a rushing sound that filled the bushman's ears. In that split instant, !Xabbu, as still and as wide-eyed with shock and fear and confusion as a deer caught in headlights--was reminded of the story of the All-Devourer, the ancient foe of Grandfather Mantis who had succeeded once in devouring all existence, but was forced by his daughter, Porcupine, to spit it all back out. The All-Devourer had promised to return and consume the world once again. Hearing that rushing sound, the sound of approaching death, !Xabbu thought then of the All-Devourer's dark promise.

"Avada -"

Tinsley had no time to run, and barely any time to think. All she knew was that her heart had sunk, heavier than lead, and she screamed. Ian crossed in front of Addie and, in a split second, Tinsley tried to stumble forward to get Alphonse, to stop him, to do something - Anxiety and absolute shock stunned her system and, with tears running down her face, Tinsley heard !Xabbu scream.

"Kedavra!"

Tinsley closed her eyes tightly and screamed, her high pitched, terrified call for help breaking the silence of the early morning hours.

"--Kedavra!"

"Expelliarmus!"

Red and green bolts of light clashed with a thunderous BOOM. Both of Ian's hands were on his wand, then, as he stared out in shock. Both his and Alphosne's spells had clashed together, wrapping around each other and forming a golden line that connected their identical wands. From somewhere, as if from a long distance, there was a roaring sound--it sounded like a dragon! All of a sudden, a ring of white-hot fire circled around both Ian and Alphonse as they remained linked an unable to separate. All of a sudden, they were lifted into the air, golden link and ring of fire and all.

Oddly enough, the flames that surrounded the two of them did not burn any of the trees or plants that they passed as they were carried through the air. However, Alphonse could care less about that. He was more concerned with how in all the hells this was happening.

"What--what is this!?" he snarled. His eyes and mouth was wide with shock and fury. He'd lost all composure now.The dragon's roar seemed to be going on without pause. It rung in the dark wizard's ears.

Someone behind !Xabbu screamed, and he knew it could not be Addie--she was in front of him--but !Xabbu's attention was on the ghastly, horrid light show before him. A loud, monstrous roar filled the air along with the golden light. !Xabbu took a few steps back.

"What is happening?"
he yelled out to Addie.

Ian was in shock. For the billionth time in his life he didn't know what to do, and for the first time in his life he needed to do something immediately while this strange thing was happening to him and Alphonse. Something about this just had be just the deus ex machina he needed to survive this previously hopeless situation.

Then, he saw it. A tiny glowing bead of light nestled in the middle of the golden line that connected his and Alphonse's wands.

Force it towards Alphonse, said a voice. It was Aunt Julia.

Ian concentrated, and the tiny bead reacted to his thoughts, moving along the golden magical wire towards the tip of Alphonse's wand. His step brother seemed too much in shock over everything else to notice. Centimeter by centimeter, it traveled, until it finally connected with Alphonse's wand. There was another thunderous boom, and Ian and Alphonse were set down a few feet from where they had lifted up. The ring of fire and the golden line remained, as did the dragon roar still sounding in his ears.

There was a flash of white light, and then white smoke poured from Alphonse's wand. The smoke seemed to take shape, and it became the form of someone Ian recognized.

"Ian! Is that you?" said Uncle Leon. His form was somehow more alive than that of a ghost, yet he seemed less substantial than living flesh.

"U-uncle Leon? H-how?" Ian had no idea what was going on.

"Oh come on, boy," said Uncle Leon almost jovially, "You're smarter than that. Your slimey toerag of a brother did me in! I'm deader than Gilderoy Lockhart's career!" That was his Uncle Leon's lame sense of humor, all right.

"Wha-"

So it was Alphonse. He did it. Uncle Leon hadn't died of a heart attack.

Was this some kind of trick?

"What? You!?" cried Alphonse, "I-I killed you!"

"Of course you did, you idiot nephew of mine," said Uncle Leon in a tone he might have used to let Alphonse know he'd just done something stupid, "I just got done telling Ian that. Du-uh! And all for what? A trinket. Bah! Looks like that was your undoing, eh?"

"No! You're dead!" Alphonse cried in desperate denial, "You can't be here!"

"Oh can't I?" Uncle Leon laughed defiantly, "you can kill your elders but you still can't order them around. Now you're gonna pay for what you did. I didn't think there was such a thing as poetic justice. Listen boy--oh damn, here come the others..."

"O-others!?" Alphonse stood open-mouthed. Now Alphonse was really scared, for he could guess what was coming now. Coming for him.

There was another brilliant flash, and several more figures appeared floating around Ian and Alphonse--still linked by a golden magic wire--as Uncle Leon had. There were at least five or six floating figures now. Ian recognized none of them at first, but Alphonse sure seemed to. His face was a mask of fright. He looked like he wanted to run, but he couldn't. Somehow, probably because Ian had been the one to force that little bead into Alphonse's wand, Ian was able to hold them both in place as the dead rose again. The dead all spoke at once, seeming to hurl accusations in Alphonse's direction. Ian could make out nothing in the din of voices.

Just then, one of the phantom shapes stopped talking to Alphonse and looked his way.

She certainly looked familiar: Small frame. Aristocratic features. Thick, wavy hair--blonde, though Ian could easily somehow picture it a sort of ruddy chestnut instead. And a haughty gaze with large, violet eyes.

Tinsley... he thought, knowing it wasn't possible.

To Ian's surprise, the Tinsley-look-alike smirked with a sort of dark satisfaction.

"No!" Alphonse had seemed to lose it, "No!" he screamed, trying to pull his wand loose from the golden line. He couldn't even seem to let go. "L-let me go! No! I killed all of you! You can't be here! All of you go back to Hell!" Alphonse's eyes seemed to pop out of his sockets. He was twisted with rage and confusion. Veins popped up from his skin. The phantoms continued to talk to him all at once, each hurling accusations and declarations of hatred at him for the crimes he knew he'd committed.

Then, he noticed that one of them was looking, not at him, but at Ian. He needed only to see the back of her to know who she was.

"C-cora? N-no...I-I'm sorry..." he pleaded, "Please leave me alone!"

Cora Carmichael turned around, smirking. Then, she spoke in horrid, harsh tones that nevertheless felt as smooth as silk--like the blade of a finely sharpened rapier cutting through you like butter.

'Tis not as deep as a well, nor as wide as a church door. But when you come find me in the morning, you shall find me a grave man.

"Alphonse," she said, and then she laughed in those same smooth, scathing tones, "looks like you were a bigger fool than I was for ever thinking that I loved you. For now it has come to pass--your end is near." She laughed again, gleefully.

"N-no! I'll do anything!" Alphonse pleaded more desperately, "Just let me go! Please!"
