| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. The man behind the mask was even more scary than when he was wearing. What frightened Lucy was that she knew this man - Alphonse de Ponte du Lac worked at the Ministry with her brother. Of course, they didn't know each other, Alphonse was a lot higher in the ranks, but her brother had sort of even admired him. Well, now she had some news for him. Lucy had gone into shock. She had felt her mouth was gaping, and shut it quickly. But what snapped her out of her trance comepletely was the cry of "Crucio!" the man had aimed at his 'dear brother'. Lucy's face crumpled in the pain she felt for Ian. She wanted to help - she wanted to stop it, but she knew of nothing she could do. Instead, she checked that everyone else was okay, and was satisfied that none of them had physical injuries that she could see. Lucy did the only thing she could think of to do to help. She whipped her wand from her waist-band and joined the barricade of spells that flew past her, throwing all her anger into one shout. "STUPIFY!" She had never been good at spells. Long distance they hardly every hit the mark anyway. All her anger and hatred toward the man made her arm shake and tremble, meaning the spell glanced off a nearby tree. Again, she looked around and checked Olive, whose face was reflecting that of many in the crowd - fury. She put a hand to her as a source of comfort to the both of them, and was about to watch the man again when she heard a shout of "Emma! Try that thing with the vines again!" What? In her worry, Lucy obviously hadn't noticed that the vines had moved from their safety in the trees, to a place much closer to Alphonse. She whipped her head around to see Emma's face in amazingly deep concentration. Lucy watched the vines again, watched as they quickly climbed Alphone's body and twisting and tightening around his wand arm. What kind of magic is that? |

Kayden stood beside her old friend and watched everything with wide eyes ready to pounce. She held out her wand and pursed her lips together, narrowing her eyes. If my damn father as anything to do with this, I'll never speak with him again, or his little bitch, she thought to herself. "Stupefy! Kayden yelled and aimed her wand towards Alphonse. She truly, was in utter shock. If this was how things were going to be.. then, let the games begin. |

Several things had happened all at once so fast so that Alphonse barely had time to react. A number of offensive spells were sent flying in his direction, which he was able to deflect, their crimson glow illuminated the dark forest for only a moment. Immediately, however, Ian was knocked away from Alphonse's spell range, and something crept up his legs. He looked down. They were vines! strong vines tightened around his legs and held him in place, digging into his skin even through his cloak, so that the next stunner hit him in the stomach while he was distracted. Alphonse screamed. He doubled over, unable to fall due to the vines. Another stunner barely missed him to to its caster's poor aim. Then the vines had slackened, though they had not released their captive. Alphonse raised his wand for a counter-attack, only to have the vines suddenly come back to life and begin wrapping around him like devil's snare. The vines tightened around his wand arm, keeping him from being able to cast a spell in the young witches and wizards' direction. Two more stunners came his way, saturating the dark forest with crimson light. They smacked into his chest and shoulder. Alphonse wailed, and then he was silent and still. He dropped his wand. The dragon-wand, identical to Ian's, hit the forest floor and rolled a few inches before coming to rest against one of the vines that held its master. |

Dizzy and gradually losing any sense at all, Emma refused to break her concentration. Battling through discomfort and uneasiness she stood, firmly planted to the ground, her mind only focusing on one thing. As quickly as her mind had been emptied, it began to fill with thought after thought. She thought of how amazingly livid she was. She was angry that an adult would hurt a young girl, and angry that Constanta (who Emma believed was dead) hadn't gotten her fair shot at life. And, thinking of life, Emma thought of death. She thought of her mother, and how - The vines tightened more and Emma closed her eyes, her cheeks flushing deep maroon. Alphonse wailed. Emma's eyes shot open at once. His wand fell limply to the ground, and Emma shouted. "Stop!" She turned to her friends, throwing spells in his direction. "Stop it! He dropped his wand!" And in an instant, Emma was completely distracted. The vines no longer held Alphonse captive. Emma had several flaws. The one which promised to ensure her downfall was the fact that Emma always tried to see the best in people. She chose not to tighten her vines again, thinking (but really only hoping) that Alphonse had seen the light of good and decided to change his ways. But Emma should have known. Her hopes and wildest dreams were always too good to be true... |

Tinsley stared at Emma now that she felt she was safe enough to lower her wand. She had noticed the vines before, but a part of her had assumed that the forest was always a little alive. It was clear, however, that vines didn't just naturally spring up to aide children regularly. What had Emma done? Emma seemed to shift uncomfortably under her gaze, and Tinsley rolled her eyes. Alphonse's wand was on the ground, though he was no longer captive by vines. "You're sick," she sneered, spitting on the ground and on his feet. No one messes with my friends and gets away with it. |

Bannishtar looked towards the direction where he'd just seen several flashes of red light. His ears had also picked up several strange sounds he was not used to hearing in the forest, though he was used to hearing them somewhere else: Hogwarts. "What do you suppose it was?" asked Firenze. "Magic," said Banni, tensely. His hand tightened around his bow. He'd heard the howls echo throughout the forest, howls that could have only belonged to one of the two werewolves that were no doubt out tonight. They were also students at the school. "We should find them," said Firenze, "before Bane does." Banni turned to look in Firenze's direction. Behind him were twenty or so other centuars, members of the herd that had followed him and Firenze after the split. The division of the herd, as it was, had to do with the division of leadership that had arisen that year. Both Firenze and Bane, after Magorian's and Ronin's deaths, had taken over dual leadership of the herd. But each of them had their own ideas and philosophies, and Bane himself wanted nothing to do with humans and he wanted to get as far away from the school and the wizards as possible. He wanted to migrate. Firenze was hopeful that they could remain, but most of the herd, save for the ones now with Banni and Firenze, sided with Bane. The scars of last year's treachery by Ronin, and the instituted oppression by the Ministry, ran deep. What had been worse was that Banni was expected to choose a side as well. Throughout all of this, he had remained a neutral adviser, even when violence had broken out in the form of minor skirmishes (some of which he had taken part in, if only to get both sides to stop). However, when worse came to worse, and a split seemed imminent, Banni sided with Firenze's faction. He didn't really agree with Firenze either, because Firenze didn't care to associate with the wizards either. Banni believed that communication and proper representation was the only course for them in dealing with wizards and getting their own equal rights with their government. That is why he did not choose sides. However, Bane's more militant outlook had caused Banni to finally decide that Firenze's faction was the lesser of two evils. After another small fight broke out, Bane spat at the both of them and told alll the "traitors" to start running. They did. They had no choice. There were thirty of them before they started fighting with Bane's side. Banni himself had an arrow stuck in his hindquarters. It hurt like hell, but he was afraid to remove it for fear that he might bleed to death. A small river of crimson leaked out from the wound from which the shaft protruded. Many others were in worse shape than him, though. Firenze, who had managed to escape the fight with little more than a few scrapes and bruises, pointed west. "I think the howls came from that way," he said. The howls had sounded like those of a wounded animal. Banni feared the worst; that Bane had found one of the two werewolves and had exacted his revenge for Orrin's death. Banni started in that direction. There was a good chance he'd run into Bane and his faction, but that didn't concern him as much as finding Constanta and or Hellius if they were in danger. "Are you going alone?" asked Firenze. "Yes," said Banni, "The rest of you investigate that light. I'm sorry to put this on you, but I'm afraid that those werewolves may trust only me in this situation. I'd hate for them to become afraid and attack if they see an entire herd of us armed." Firenze nodded, understanding. Both centaurs (the palomino followed by twenty or so others, the bay all by his lonesome) went in separate directions. Edited by !Xabbu Basarwa, Feb 4 2009, 04:58:11 PM.

Ian groaned. His whole body hurt, but his back felt as though it was starting to bruise. He was now lying on his stomach several feet from where he last remembered being, where he was being tortured by Alphonse. The Slytherin boy opened his eyes, and saw that his torturer was now lying limp and lifeless on the forest floor, surrounded by limp and lifeless vines. What the hell? Ian groaned some more as he struggled to his and knees. His wand was just ahead of him. He managed to crawl over and get it. He assumed the other wand beside it was Alphonse's. What he couldn't assume was how on earth the others could have beaten him. Without a word to anyone (but with more groaning) Ian tried to stand up. He failed and hit the ground, landing on his ass. "Uhg." He looked back at Tristan and the others with shock and incredulity, but mostly just with pure exhaustion after having been subjected to the worst pain he'd ever felt, and then apparently having been flung into a tree. Ian was in a state of delirium, due mostly to the curse he'd just been hit by. Quite frankly, he wasn't sure which way was up, let alone what had just transpired. |

This is how people must feel after a fire, thought Tinsley. Or a tornado. Or an earthquake. Completely and utterly confused, and kind of devastated. Tinsley's stomach churned watching Ian regain consciousness. Her eyes narrowed at Alphonse. Even if he wasn't paying attention to her, or even noticing her snide comments and disgusting looks, it was sickeningly comforting to glare. Her eyes left the limp body of Alphonse and met Ian. Tinsley bit her lip, watching him cautiously get up and fall, groaning all the while. Tinsley winced, feeling a kick in her stomach. He looked back at the group and Tinsley, at once, moved to his side. She put a hand on his shoulder, looking down at her friend - one of the only friends she had left. "You'll be fine," she said. Later she'd kick herself multiple times for it, but as they all stood there, Tinsley assumed the limp Alphonse de Ponte du Lac was no longer harmful. Tinsley wasn't exactly the smartest person. She didn't know many things, and especially didn't know what to do in these sorts of situations. All she really could do was sit and mutter words of encouragement. From the ground, she looked up at the group - specifically Emma. "What the hell just happened?" she said, looking around. She paused. Constanta's...Constanta's body has to be around here somewhere. Tinsley kept her fatigue and sadness to herself. She wasn't about to break down in front of the current bystanders. It wasn't worth it. |

Just then, Ian remembered. Constanta! Ian shot up, groaning in great pain as he strained to stand, but he didn't fall down this time. "We have to find her," said Ian, "Alphonse had to have been lying..." Ian said the words, but he didn't believe them. He looked to his step brother, lying on the ground. "Is he dead?" |

"Just knocked out, I think," said !Xabbu. He, too, was hoping against hope that the girl was still alive, and that Alphonse had either been mistaken, or he was lying. Why had he done this? Now wasn't the right time to ask such a question, !Xabbu thought. |

Alphonse's eyes opened, just a little bit. Just a small sliver of blurry vision. He saw and heard those students talking as if he were dead, but even though he wasn't his mind couldn't seem to focus. They got him good, alright. Still, the fog was surely lifting, even as he lie there. He closed his eyes before any of those little brats had noticed a thing. |

Olivia's mout fell open in shock as vines from the forest tightened around Alphons's body with the tightening of Emma's fists. Wandless magic. Olive had heard of it but never actually witnessed it. Soon, Alphonse was on the ground, disarmed. The actioned had ceased... for now. "Emma? Did you...do that?" one of their party asked. "Wicked," Olivia breathed, staring in shock. |

"Emma? Did you...do that?" Emma blinked and nodded quietly. "I-I," stammered Emma. "I guess I did." With a sheepish, embarrassed sort of grin Emma held her hands close to her heart. I guess I did! But her sudden happiness was short lived. "Alphonse had to have been lying..." Emma shook her head, and her eyes lowered to the ground. She could sense defeat in the air. "Is he dead?" "Wicked." She looked at Alphonse. "He can't be dead." That'd be a headline for the newspapers. Senior Undersecretary to the Minister of Magic MURDERED By Handful Of Teens. Emma's lip trembled. "He's going to live. If he didn't, then this would have been far too easy." Smiling weakly at Olive for her...well, support, Emma straightened. "What sort of Ministry official would kill a student? Odds are, he's going to live, and so is Constanta." Please, let me be right. "She has to be around here somewhere." Edited by Emma Gray, Feb 4 2009, 07:49:38 PM.

"Emma's right," said Tinsley, standing up and dusting off her robes. She glanced at Emma and actually smiled. Instinct told Tinsley that she was weak, and disgracing her reputation. However, Tinsley knew that it's what Constanta would have wanted - and no one asked them to help. Without Emma, or Addie or Tristan, or Olivia, or !Xabbu, or anyone Ian and Tinsley easily wouldn't have made it. And while, if the tables were turned, Tinsley wouldn't give anyone the time of day, that's what made all of them better people. I guess even Hitler had to have an epiphany sometime. Shuddering in the night air, Tinsley said, "Alphonse is a high ranking Ministry official. My father knows of him and speaks of him well. He's not a killer. He might be a kidnapper and a sick freak, but he's not a murderer." If only Tinsley knew how horribly wrong she was. |

"Okay," said Ian Ian, regaining some of his strength and bearing, "everyone spread out and look for 'Stanta. Call out to her." If she's alive, she'll hear us, even if she's in that form... As an almost involuntary movement, Ian glanced up at the large full moon shining its pale light into the clearing. "As for me..." he said, raising his wand and moving over towards where Alphonse lay. His eyes filled with fearful anticipation for what he was about to do. But he believed it had to be done. He stood next to the seemingly unconscious man, and pointed his wand at his chest. "A-..." Ian stopped. HIs wand arm was shaking. Do you really want to be a murderer? he thought. Can you even do this? It didn't matter, though. He had to. He couldn't allow Alphonse just to get up and maybe come back to finish what he started. Whatever he'd started. Ian's face took on a determined look. "Avada..." he began, "K-kedavra!" Green light radiated from the tip of his Ian's wand. In that instant, Ian was shocked that he'd just--and then... Fizzle. The green light went out. His curse never left the tip of his wand. |

"Everyone spread out and look for 'Stanta. Call out to her." Tinsley nodded quietly. "We should each stay together with someone else, though. Tris and Addie should stick together - as for me, I want the girl that can use vines. Who wouldn't?" Tinsley smiled weakly and grabbed Emma's wrist a little roughly, nodding. "Everyone scour the forest with a partner and we'll find our girl in no time at all. If you're in trouble, send up white sparks. Someone will come and get you. Okay?" Tinsley was surprised how quickly she could lead them without biased or hatred. She was certainly being more productive, but it was astoundingly less entertaining. "As for me..." Tinsley was about to leave when she paused. There was something off about Ian. He was shaking. "Avada..." he began, "K-kedavra!" The spell never left his wand and the scream never left Tinsley's throat. "Ian, don't," said Tinsley quietly, pleading with sincerity. "It's not worth it." You'd never imagine that Tinsley would be begging you not to kill someone, right? But in all honesty, Tinsley would rather have the pleasure of visiting Alphonse in Azkaban, sneering at him behind bars. "He's not worth it." Tinsley waited, letting her words sink in, and then she silently grabbed Emma's hand and led her into the woods, away from the group. Edited by Emma Gray, Feb 5 2009, 06:48:16 PM.

Alphonse chuckled. "Oh Ian," he said, his eyes were still closed and he didn't bother to get up, but he had fully regained consciousness a few minutes ago, in fact. "You couldn't kill a fly with that curse. Its like I said: You've got to mean it. You lack conviction--always have." He opened his eyes and smirked up at his little brother. |

"Yeah, okay," said Emma quietly, nodding. Seeing Tinsley acting like a human being was the most sobering event of the night. Almost as sobering as the Killing Curse which left Ian's lips. Emma stayed quiet as Tinsley calmed him with soft words. Tinsley grabbed Emma's wrist and Emma shook loose out of her vice-like gripe, instead choosing to hold her hand. Tinsley shot her an odd look, but did not pull away. Emma squeezed her hand and the two began to scour the forest. The two girls were both quiet, holding each others hands. Occasionally Emma would glance at Tinsley and try to say something, but no words could possibly leave her. She wasn't sure where to even begin to look for Constanta. It's as if Lola was missing. What would I do? Emma bit her bottom lip, continuing to look around. "CONSTANTA!" yelled Emma, her voice powerfully echoing through the forest. "CONSTANTAAAA!...I hope this helps. I really do." It was then that Em realized she was still holding Tinsley's hand. "Oh. Sorry. I just - sorry." |
