| Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice |
| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Constanta walked briskly through the grounds until she was right at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. She clutched her head tightly, a futile attempt to slow the splitting pain that grew each second. The clouds parted above her and the moon cast its soft light on the grass. Normally she might gaze up at it dreamily, but now she hissed as it increased the pain tenfold. She hid herself in the shadow of the trees but the pain continued to make its way to her torso and then each of her limbs until it felt like her entire body was being ripped open. She couldn't stop herself from screaming as her nails lengthened into claws, her arms and legs grew longer and her body larger, and fur sprouted all over her body. Stanta's delicate head shook uncontrollably, almost like she was having a seizure, but her nose and mouth grew longer to form a snout and her ears grew into sharp points. A tail sprouted from her behind and she sighed as the pain finally subsided. Thanks to her regular doses of wolfsbane, she was still in her own mind. Now at least she could just find some place quiet in the forest to sleep for the night... |

Alphonse was there, in the forest, hidden amongst the darkness of the trees. He saw the whole thing. Constanta, Ian's little girlfriend, had transformed by the moonlight into that...thing. So...Azariah had been right about her. Strange how he knew of her secret. To think that it had been in his own house the day of his wedding...Ian would pay for this. Still, the Knights needed Ian. It all made sense now. The voice Alphonse had heard inside the centuar's memory, the destruction of the Ministry, all of those muggle machines going haywire in their world. Ian was the Knights' link to that power. Azariah wanted that power. And so did Alphonse. The pale masked man stepped out of the darkness, directly into the werewolf's line of sight. The man chuckled. "A werewolf," he said with malice as he raised his wand, "I never thought my little brother would stoop so low...crucio!" |

Constanta had been glancing around for a soft patch of grass to rest her head in when a slight movement caught her eye. She raised her snout and sniffed the air on instinct. It was filled with a scent that made her flatten her ears against her head: pure evil. She only got a moment's look at him: a pale man wearing a mask and a dark cloak, unrecognisable in the disguise and this dim light. Then he said, "A werewolf. I never thought my little brother would stoop so low...crucio!" Little brother...? Her mind barely framed the question before pain took over and her entire body was seized in a whole new kind of pain. This was worse than the pain of transforming; this pain didn't serve any purpose other than to hurt and break and tear and cut. Knives stabbed every inch of her skin; her mind screamed in agony. She could only think one word as she howled aloud in pain. Please. Edited by Constanta Lupei, Jan 29 2009, 09:25:42 PM.

Alphonse stood over his prey. "Don't fright," he said, "it will be over soon. I'm not going to kill you. If Ian does what he is told he'll be able to save you. If not...lacerasempra!" An invisible knife cut gashes on the werewolf's body. To Alphonse, she was just an animal for the slaughter, a lower lifeform that could be sacrificed for the betterment of his own kind. Her pain meant nothing to him. |

The pain ceased for a short moment and Constanta breathed in short gasps, her lungs contracting painfully fast as she tried to regain her bearings. But he didn't allow her enough time. She heard Ian's name again and then knives cut into her in earnest; she could feel her own blood gushing from the wounds and collecting in her fur. Once again only one thought persisted through the anguish, but this time it was a different one. Ian. Ian. Help me. She whimpered and curled into a ball. |

Ian walked into the forest, the tip of his wand illuminated for light, almost unaware of any of the others that now followed him. He was told to come alone, true enough, but perhaps that was just Alphonse's plan (if it was Alphonse, and who else could it be? The only question was why). Perhaps it was better that he didn't comply with the demands to a T. In any case, he'd not told a Professor, and Ian was sure that Alphonse wouldn't like it if he had brought an adult wizard into the dark depths of the forest. Suddenly there was a howl, and Ian froze. Could it be Constanta? Was her kidnapper not far away? Was it a howl of pain? Ian's insides were on fire. He clenched his wand. What was he doing to her? Then Ian realized that it was not a wolfish howl, nor was it only one. There was rumbling sound accompanying the battle cry, and out of the darkness there came a group of twenty-or-so centaurs--the last thing (other than perhaps Alphonse) that Ian wanted to encounter in the forest. Immediately, Ian lowered his illuminated wand. He was smart enough to know not to have his wand raised when in the presence of a herd of several magic-hating centaurs. The herd stopped, encircling Ian and anyone who had been foolish enough to follow him. Ian's eyes darted around at the them. This was not good. "Humans," growled one. He had black fur and a beard. "Have you perchance seen the traitors of our herd?" Ian had heard this one's voice before. Earlier in the year. He was arguing with Bannishtar outside in the hall while Banni's class, including Ian, waited inside the Divination classroom. In fact, he'd seen a number of them before as well. The centaurs had aided Hogwarts last year against the red cap horde. They'd taken shelter behind the barrier over the castle from the feindfyre used to purge the grounds of those awful creatures. "One of them I know you know," the bearded centaur continued, "He is a teacher at your school. He and a centaur named Firenze have caused a split amongst our herd. Do you know where he is?" Ian shook his head. He could have suggested that Bannishtar was in the castle, but he didn't want to lead them there. |

Tinsley, behind Ian the whole time, felt increasingly uncomfortable in the woods. She knew every turn in the dark, yet each twig beneath her Mary Jane's cracking reminded her of the paralyzing fear she had felt while running as fast as she could. She had never ran so fast in her life, bolting away in a flash, twigs tearing at her arms, leaving cuts - she spilled blood on the ground of the forest, gasping for air, wondering who that man was and who exactly were the Knights of Walpurgis. Had they always been watching Tinsley, one step behind her always, waiting for the right time to unleash the truth on her? A particularly loud twig snapping under the weight of her right food startled her and ripped her from her thoughts. She cleared her throat, remaining quiet. She'd meant to tell Ian about her so-called adventures eventually, but everything was happening much too fast. What if the Knights took Constanta? I can't let them hurt her. I can't. Tinsley couldn't even find the strength to say anything in the deafening silence of the forest. Ian froze and Tinsley's eyes widened. A howl echoed through the forest previously occupied by only silence and branches rattling in the soft wind. She stopped dead in her tracks, her heart beat quickening drastically. Adrenaline pulsed through her veins. "Cent - cent," she stammered. "Humans. Have you perchance seen the traitors of our herd? He is a teacher at your school. He and a centaur named Firenze have caused a split amongst our herd. Do you know where he is?" "Centaurs," said Tinsley weakly, relieved now that Ian had lowered his wand. She didn't want them to see the look of sheer terror on her face as she was spoken to. |

Tristan breached the borderline of trees that was the edge of the Forbidden Forest to find Ian, Tinsley and Kayden surrounded by a number of riled looking centaurs. His wand still gripped by his side he made certain to leave it there or risk appearing aggressive. He was a little curious as to what the Slytherins would say when they realised they were being followed by the liked of himself and his friends. Yet her remained silent until the centaurs had moved on. |

Emma followed Tristan into the woods, instantly becoming unnerved by the darkness. Something grazed the back of her neck and she yelped, clapping her hands over her mouth. Her sparkling eyes widened and she was about to say something when she saw the Slytherins in the distance, surrounded by centaurs. For a moment, Emma felt tempted to snicker. However, quickly she realized she was not only in the Forbidden Forest with a few of the least predictable students she'd ever come across (well...really only Tinsley) but a herd of centaurs who probably didn't appreciate intruders. Emma had to remind herself to breathe. "Tristan," said Emma through gritted teeth, "If we die for Tinsley Carmicheal, I swear to God..." Edited by Emma Gray, Feb 2 2009, 07:06:38 PM.

The centaur with the beard snorted. "Well," he said, "if you do, you need not warn them of our coming. They know we're after them." Another centaur with reddish brown fur spoke, "Oh come on, Bane," he said, "Just tell them about what we saw. I think it might be of importance to them." Ban snorted again. "Hmph. Fine." He looked Ian straight in the eye, "we saw one of your kind going into the forest. We were about to kill her, you see, because as it turned out she was the very beast that slew one of our own not long ago. She goes into the forest once a month it seems. She was under that nag, Bannishtar's protection, but he has betrayed us this night, and so she is no longer off limits as far as we are concerned." Ian clenched his teeth. He knew they were talking about Constanta. Those horse-bastards were going to shoot her. But what stopped them? His mental question was immediately answered by Bane. "But another of your own, an adult, showed up and took care of her," he said, "his presence will not be tolerated either, but we plan on dealing with our own problems first. I am sure, however, that by now that beast of a human is dead." Ian's heart sank. No... "Why..." he said, "Why didn't you take care of him when you had the chance...?" Constanta's not dead...she can't be... Ian pleaded mentally. Bane stared at the boy, then spoke: "As I've said, he will get his in due time, as will you if you do not leave now," the bearded centaur threatened. The centaurs behind the three Slytherins moved, allowing them passage back out of the forest if they would take it. But Ian wasn't going anywhere. "You're afraid..." he said accusingly, "Admit it. You're afraid of that wizard." Bane growled and stamped his front hoof after stepping closer towards Ian. "Do NOT accuse me of cowardice, human." "Let me guess," said Ian, standing fast against the centaur's intimidation, "Blonde hair. Blue eyes. Pale skin. His name is Alphonse de Ponte du Lac, Senior Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic." Banni stepped back, his face a mask of shock. "We...could not see his face, for he was cloaked and masked, but he had pale skin sure enough," said Bane, "and we knew who he was by his voice. We'd met him before. Indeed, he is the man you have described. He is the reason for our trouble. It all started with him and his despicable schemes. All of your kind scheme, but he is by far the worst schemer of them all." The bearded centaur clenched his fist around his bow. Ian understood. It was Alphonse, Ian's stepbrother, who had been the architect of the decree which had limited the lands in which the centaurs could hunt, thus provoking them to rebellion. At least part of what had happened that year was Alphonse's fault. And was he punished? No. He was made senior undersecretary. What a government! "But you're too afraid to engage him," said Ian, "because he know what he's capable of." Then, the slight Slytherin boy with everything he could ever want that money could buy--the boy who often tripped over his own shoelaces, who had taken the coward's walk through life by always following, unconditionally, those strong leaders such as Julian Kahn because he himself feared for his own well being--stepped forward. He stood as tall as he could, shoulders back, chest out, and made eye contact as best he could with the ten-foot centaur. In their culture, as well as human culture, that was considered a direct challenge. "I know what he's capable of as well," he said in an even toned sort of voice. Anyone listening who had ever met Ian's stepfather would at that moment be sure that Ian was truly Anton de Ponte du Lac's son, "but I'm not afraid. If what you say is true...then I've lost something to him as well, and I need my vengence as much as you do. And I'm not afraid to take it." The centaurs murmered amongst themselves. Bane laughed, a cold, mirthless laugh. "You are a fool, little foal," he paused, "very well. All of you may pass. That goes for the ones behind us as well!" he called out. Ian looked back. Who had Bane just called out to? None other than Tristan Nightshade and his posse of prissy little twits. Ian sighed and shook his head. "Besides," said Bane, "it isn't our way to kill foals. However, don't let us catch you out here again, in such numbers in any case...not that I believe you will survive the night." "You're just going to run away and leave us kids to face him?" asked Ian. The bearded centaur gave a "hmph" before calling his heard to move out. With the thunderous beats of many hooves, the other centaurs obeyed. Soon, the fourth years were left alone in the forest. "Cowards..." Ian said. He turned to Tristan and the others, "You guys can stop trying to follow us now. If you're coming, then get over here." |

Diana wasn't really sure why she was here. They could get in a lot of trouble over this. Then again, Belleford probably wouldn't mind if she knew the reason. Diana tried to keep up with the rest of the group and her dimly lit wand. She'd heard rumors about the Forbidden Forest, and...had decided that she should see it for herself. She was already regretting the decision. Hopefully they could get to wherever Constanta, help her out, and get the hell out of there. |

Tinsley was stricken with panic as Ian confronted the centaurs. "I am sure, however, that by now that beast of a human is dead." No! He has no idea what he's talking about, he's a filthy half breed - Now, Tinsley only half listened to the conversation at hand, dealing mostly with the sudden panic that she had lost her best friend to those she had now signed her very soul to. "But you're too afraid to engage him," said Ian, "because he know what he's capable of." GOOD JOB, IAN, GET US KILLED. Tinsley rolled her eyes and covered her face with her hands, breathing uneasily. Nothing was making sense anymore. How had her life turned out like this? "Besides," said Bane, "it isn't our way to kill foals. However, don't let us catch you out here again, in such numbers in any case...not that I believe you will survive the night." Tinsley's smug exterior returned as she turned to see none other than The Thunder From Down Under with his gal pal Miss Perfect. Tinsley rolled her eyes. Emma, Tristan, !Xabbu, Diana - none of them knew Constanta. Why they were willing to risk everything for a Slytherin no less was lost upon Tinsley, who until then had assumed that no one in their year, or the world, for that matter, was capable of a sweet thought except her. ...Uhh, right. "Well, I always knew I attracted a following everywhere I went, but this is ridiculous." Tinsley sighed. "Whatever. More people to run in front of me in case of emergency. I nominate Emma to be my personal shield." Smirking, Tinsley looked up at the sky again. "We need to find Constanta," said Tinsley suddenly. "This isn't a game. This is LIFE and death! This is MY best friend. I NEED to find her." Tinsley's desperation was finally showing. Ashamed at bursting out in front of Tristan of all people, Julian's worst enemy, Tinsley shook her head. |

"If you guys are coming," Ian said, "the let's go." Ian began walking again. It was getting darker and darker by the minute, "If anything, you guys could at least provide us more light," he said as he continued to walk on. He decided to go in the direction the centaurs had come. That's where he was sure to find him, and hopefully, Constanta was still alive. |

Emma snorted and rolled her eyes at Tinsley. "No offense, Tinsley, but I'd rather be a shield for Sneckzilla." Smirking, Emma winked at Tristan and kept her head up high. She illuminated the tip of her wand, and kept up with Ian, bravely heading into the woods. Something told Emma that she was going to be okay. Perhaps it was because she was surrounded by nature, the very thing which kept her calm at all times, or perhaps it was because, deep down, Emma knew she was safe and with some of the best students in her year. "Consider me your light, then." She kept walking, humming to herself, a little too cheery. |

Addie had entered the Forest behind Tristan and Emma, pausing in wonder to watch the Centaur disappearing into the thick of the trees. Wand already lit, Addie stepped forward, merging with the Slytherin group. She fell in step beside, Ian, whom she felt the closest to. "You said it yourself, this is serious. Now shut up and stop being so condescending Tinsley, or we could easily leave you to fend for yourselves. Frankly, we're here to help Ian and Constanta." Addie commented, thoroughly annoyed with the self centered girl. She sighed and shook her head. "Sorry, fighting isn't helping, let's just all work together and find Constanta before it's too late." She commented softly, forcing a smile and glancing around the dark trees. |
