Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

If we see a man glorifying his race, gender, or creed, we can understand there is nothing about himself that deserves glorification.

Hellius swept through the Forbidden Forest in a rather happy mood. The night was beginning to fall, the sun drifting over the horizon, and the creatures of the forest were unaware of what was to happen to the night surrounding them.

Taking in the fresh forest air, Hellius placed his hands behind his head and spun around, laughing at the thought of his teeth sinking into the neck of a red cap. Staring at the stars, the Gryffindor fell to his back and laid on the foliage below him; becoming one with the darkness surrounding him. Although he couldn't see the moon and the darkness hadn't crowded the night, Hellius could already feel the effects. His teeth were tingling and his mouth was beginning to throb.

As soon as he saw the moon, he would change - the night was cloudy, the air was refreshing, and the atmosphere was calm. To those who were calm about the attack on the Ministry at Hogwarts, they were about to be unpleasantly surprised.

It's cute that everyone thinks they can be a queen, but remember who came FIRST.

Through the sea of people returning to their dorms, Tinsley grabbed several arms. "Where's Hellius Surla?" No one seemed to know. Infuriated, Tinsley sighed just outside the Great Hall. She strayed from the pack, and found herself in the Entry Hall...the same Entry Hall she had threatened Summer...

Something wasn't right. Someone was just ahead of her - leaving, going outside.

And that person was Hellius Surla.

So, there must be a God. And he's rather sadistic if this is truly, truly happening... Tinsley giggled to herself and followed him stealthily, furtively watching where he ended up. He's going into the Forbidden Forest... She herself had never actually been in the forest for very long. It didn't even occur to Tinsley that, perhaps, following him was an extremely dangerous idea. All Tinsley knew is that she wanted to see Hellius squirm like a coward. To her, him setting out on his own voyage was like...like a message from God.

Follow him. Tinsley giggled to herself again and entered the Forbidden Forest after pausing for a few moments. Quickly, however, Tinsley knew she had waited too long. She had lost Hellius in the thick brush, through the branches and leaves. Complete blackness surrounded Tinsley as soon as she stepped foot into the maze of trees and silent life. She gave a start as an owl hooted behind her. Tinsley's heart was beating irregularly fast, and soon Tinsley couldn't recall where she had entered.

If Hellius finds me first, I'm dead.

One thing, however, was certain. Tinsley felt a paranoid tingle in the back of her neck. As wind swept past her, ruffling leaves against her exposed ankles, Tinsley could have sworn that she wasn't alone.

Veronique found it a pass time to spend time in the Forbidden Forest, awaiting anyone dull enough to unwittingly cross her path. Veronique now blew smoke into the air, a cigarette sitting in between her blood red lips. She sighed. With the school being inevitable lockdown, perhaps tonight would be an uneventful night. Veronique smirked, tossing her cigarette onto the ground. She crushed it beneath her heel and then paused.

Something had made a noise. Veronique closed her eyes and focused - footsteps. Yes, the definite sound of feet rushing, snapping twigs - Veronique's smile was a cruel and vile one when she followed the distinct sound of hurried footsteps. "Someone's out when they shouldn't be!" giggled Veronique.

Veronique paused, grabbed her wand, and waited. She paused and extended her arm.

"...3...2..."

A young brunette girl ran into Veronique's outstretched arm and fell backwards.

ooc: I'm just posting as both so I don't have to go back and forth. I really have no patience for that, lol.

Tinsley had tasted fear very few times in her life. Now as her head hit the floor of the forest and Tinsley tasted blood in her mouth from when she had bit down on her tongue, she knew the taste very well. Anxiety, mortification - most of all, desperation.

Tinsley, with her bare hands, began to claw and drag herself away from the siren. The siren bent down low and grabbed Tinsley's ankle, and Tinsley desperately tried to shake it free. "Get off of me!" Veronique still had a firm grip of one ankle, but left the other attended - with that leg, Tinsley rolled onto her side and kicked Veronique in the face.

Hopping to her feet, Tinsley grabbed her wand and narrowed her eyes at the young woman. She'd seen her at the wedding. The siren seemed to remember the youngest Carmicheal as well, for her icy eyes widened. Tinsley licked her lips, not noticing a thin trail of blood running down her lips. "You. What are you doing here, hmm? Waiting for a naive young girl to cross your path?" Tinsley stepped forward brazenly. "That's not me."

Tinsley pressed her wand into the siren's neck. Veronique paused and narrowed her eyes, wondering if she should decidedly admit that the youngest Carmicheal was a force to be reckoned with, or if she was horribly foolish...

"Potential," was the only word Veronique could choke out. Tinsley was digging her wand deep into Veronique's neck...to the point where it actually hurt. Veronique edged away from the young girl slowly, also withdrawing her wand. "There's no reason to be so vile, Tinsley. And yes -" Veronique put her hand up to avoid being interrupted. "I know you. I know you well. Tell me, Tinsley...does evil run in your family?"

Tinsley was silent, watching Veronique intently. "Look at you. You remind me so much of your mother...so much." Veronique giggled wildly. "And so, so much of myself. I watched you at the Ponte du Lac wedding...Look at you. You even made me feel pain for a moment. Not fear, no, because I fear nothing. Would you like to know why, Tinsley?"

Tinsley was, again, unresponsive. "...Because, my darling, I've found a way. I've found the voice of reason...you, my little puppet...you'd fit right in." Veronique held her breath, stepped forward and unusually close to Tinsley, and wiped the blood away from Tinsley's face. "Don't be scared," she said softly.

"Don't be scared,"

Tinsley's pulse raced as the siren's skin met hers. She tried to smack her hand away from her face, but missed. Suddenly, however, Tinsley was distracted. She was distracted from the eerie sounds of the forest, distracted from Veronique's hands now grasping Tinsley's wrists, and distracted from the serious panic seizing her heart at that time. She saw a bright light beginning to pulsate from behind the siren. Dull at first, it brightened gradually. Tinsley gasped and yanked her arms away from Veronique, stepping away as stealthily she could...

Azariah Amaranth
The Dark Lord
[ * ]
The sound of a man exhaling exhumed the silence, followed by a dull breath which passed through the trees. The wind changed, the air shifted, a man exited from the light. This man was dressed in a dark robe, fashioned extravagantly from the time of old. His face was rotten, his hair was cruel. The entire aura released from the man deepened the intensity of the forest - a suitable, but not preferred location to express Azariah Amaranth's sheer power.

The light from behind the man darkened and dulled, making only enough to light the area as if a sanctuary - an unholy sanction to baptize the young and fearful in blood.

Azariah breathed out again, closing his eyes. He was at peace, calm, almost welcoming. After a moment of silence, the Dark Lord's eyes fluttered open, revealing a pale blue in one eye and a disgustingly corrupted white iris in the other. The man smirked.

"Good evening, Tinsley Charmicheal. I know you, I know your family. I have been observing... you, especially, for quite a long time. Your mother and I have some history, as I'm sure my lovely siren has already informed you."

He stepped forward, his feet almost hovering off of the ground. "You may... be curious as to who I am, dear child. There is no simple explanation to answer this... natural curiosity," Azariah's voice was alluring and suggestive. "However, there is an easier answer to a different question, and to fully understand what I am, you will need to understand what I represent."

Stepping in front of Tinsley, he gently pressed Veronique behind him. His leathery hand slowly wrapped around Tinsley's delicate neck, his long, pointed nails pressing against her skin. Azariah peered into the girl's eyes, his own turning a deep purple, his mind entering hers. "I shall show you."

Tinsley's thoughts began to race. There was no way what she was seeing was real - disbelievingly she tried to grasp for a word, any word, but nothing came. Before her stood the cruelest man she had ever seen. At once Tinsley's face grew pale, her eyes looking into his. Her body language was stiff - not as petrified as she truly felt, for she was good at putting on a show, but considerably scared. Anyone could see through the front she was putting up.

"Good evening, Tinsley Carmicheal. I know you, I know your family. I have been observing... you, especially, for quite a long time. Your mother and I have some history, as I'm sure my lovely siren has already informed you."

The mention of her mother caught Tinsley's attention more than anything. Who was this man, who claimed to know her so well? She was being followed? Instantly a cold shiver ran down Tinsley's spine. She could hear her racing heartbeat in her ears - bum. bum. bum. bum.

"However, there is an easier answer to a different question, and to fully understand what I am, you will need to understand what I represent..." Tinsley tried her hardest not to pull away as the man's hands circumvented her neck. She instead chose to look up boldly into his face - into his corrupted, emotionless eyes...that were quickly turning a shade to match hers. "I shall show you."

Tinsley let out a gasp. She didn't know where she was anymore. The scenes around her melted and the darkness subsided...and she was in an amazingly awe-inspiring room that she had never before seen. There was an extremely long table, decorated with opulent and golden accessories which Tinsley took to signify wealth..."But where am I?" whispered Tinsley. She looked around the room still. Her eyes peered at the food which sat on either end of the long table and the simple, yet absolute, extravagance of it all. "Where am I?" she pleaded, still louder.

At the opposite end of the table, as if a bad dream, Azariah appeared, flickering in like a dying lightbulb before finally settling upon staying. The man didn't appear as he did before. Instead, he was replaced with a younger version of himself; his skin was brighter, his face was more inviting, and his eyes were both the same color - a luscious blue. He was a handsome man and he did, in fact, appear as if he were only about 20 years old. Taking a drink of his wine, Azariah peered across the table at Tinsley Charmicheal, his lips curled into an inviting smile.

"This was my home, so many years ago. I do not remember how long it has been since I have seen it like this, but the memory is quite clear. It will be something I will never forget," the man explained, his voice booming. He took a bite of pork from his plate, "you are safe here, dearest Miss Charmicheal. I'm not here to hurt you. I am just here to extend you an invitation to follow in the steps of your mother and to pick off where she left off."

Placing his silverware onto the table, he leaned back into his chair, relaxing. "You see, a long time ago, with the parents of Emma Gray, Hellius Surla, and your own, I founded an organization. This organization has had many names, but has never been organized directly until I decided to make its age old concept my own. " Azariah paused, examining Tinsley's face for any form of emotion. Closing his eyes and smiling, he continued.

"When humans are born, they are given fundamental rights, fundamental instincts to pursue what they want and to do what they dream. This has been called many things: fun, freedom, chaos, to name a few. However, there are people out there who believe that this fundamental right will always have disastrous results, and because of this, they create a mass power, a hivemind of people that think the same. These people that think the same force their ideas into your own brain and influence you. If you reject that influence, what do they do?

"They punish you."

Azariah snapped his fingers and everything in the room around them faded, but the table and the chairs they sat upon remained. The walls and floor faded, being replaced with images of all the worlds governments that have ever been created. The United States, the Ministry of Magic, the United Nations, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia. Every government across the world was shown at that one moment, showing the punishments that those who broke the rules received. Shootings in Russia, prisons in the United States, hanging in Germany.

"This established rule, this fascist establishment, has put your potential behind bars. It has pinned you to the ground. It has spat in your face and has taken away your fundamental right for freedom. The organization I have created," Azariah paused as a man's throat was ripped out with a searing iron, "is that of which restores the human right for freedom in an organized package."

The vision faded away and they both were returned to reality. Azariah's face was sour and cruel, the pure opposite of what he was in the vision. Retrieving his hand from the girl's neck, he smirked.

"We are the Knights of Walpurgis."

A chill crawled up Tinsley's spine - doubt manifested itself in her thoughts. For a moment, Tinsley could have sworn that she had lost her mind completely. But what she saw before her was more real than anything. The words coming from the young man's mouth, the bright blue eyes of his searing her own violet ones. She blinked and shook slightly, losing her grip between reality and what was going on in her mind. She took a deep breath -

"They punish you."

Tinsley tried to close her eyes and block the images - but even as she did so the scene still played through her mind like a horrible nightmare, bounding her with chains before she had even agreed to anything. She was caught. Soon the walls around her faded into nothing until she could hear the gentle sounds of the forest again. The man before her let go of her neck and, at once, Tinsley's hands reached for it. She wasn't sure whether to be scared or...

"We are the Knights of Walpurgis."

...Definitely scared. "K-Knights...of Walpurgis," she repeated quietly. Tinsley looked to the man, her violet eyes narrowed slightly. Something about him made Tinsley want to impress him. Need to impress him. She bit her lip, unsure of everything. This organization that he seemed so fond of might be her one way ticket.

Her one way ticket to success. To happiness. To power...to domination.

Briskly, Tinsley cleared her throat. "Absolutely lovely," she said, her words suddenly dripping with impudence. "But, sir, I must ask. What is it that you require of me?" Tinsley quickly added, "Sir, I know what you must have thought of my mother - she was lovely. But..."

Her voice, as well as her sudden confidence, trailed off into nothing at the mere presence of the man. He instilled such an irreparable and inexplicable fear in her that Tinsley Carmicheal was actually rendered speechless for once.

Azariah turned around, walking back towards Veronique. He ran his hand along her shoulder and then stopped right in front of the light. "Hellius Surla... is in this forest tonight. He awaits his latest werewolf transformation," Azariah turned back towards Tinsley. His hands draped around his neck, the bony, flesh-ridden appendages running across his skin, "I want you to kill him."

The Dark Lord was lying through his teeth. He had no intention of having his puppet die so easily.

"My beautiful siren has convinced me that he needs to die, I'm afraid. They had a confrontation in my old base of operations a month ago on the full moon - just like tonight. He played with her like a toy."

Sighing, Azariah reached out into the darkness, the shadows wrapped around his feet stretching and materializing. There was a slight disturbance in his controlling, and it was coming from off to the west.

"He is a half a mile to the west of our exact position. Veronique will accompany you and will make the load easier to handle."

The Dark Lord leaned back into the air, appearing to be sitting on something despite nothing being there. "Kill him, bring me back his ring," Azariah dismissed, waving his hand westward, "be forewarned: do not, under any circumstances, underestimate him."

Once again, Tinsley questioned the presence of a God. Someone was asking her - ordering her, even, to kill her most loathed enemy. Tinsley wondered, for a second so brief it was almost non existent, if she was looking into the face of God right then and there. But that's silly... Silently Tinsley watched him, her curiosity as well as excitement peaking. ...Isn't it?

Tinsley turned to face Veronique. Veronique smirked at Tinsley, and Tinsley smirked back. "Well, this should be fun." Tinsley turned back to Azariah, thinking before speaking. She had no intentions of appearing like an inexperienced child. "I'll do my best, sir," said Tinsley quietly. "It's what I found myself here to do. And I'm going to do it."

There's no turning back now... Whatever Tinsley had gotten herself into...there was no getting out of it unscathed. And if she was going down, she was certainly taking as many people as she could with her.

"I'm going to do it," repeated Tinsley.

Veronique sighed. She had been watching Tinsley silently for quite some time, and saw herself but a few years earlier. Everything about the girl's brazen attitude and ready willingness to please was perfect. There would never be a siren as stunning as Veronique - but the youngest Carmicheal could come close.

"He is a half a mile to the west of our exact position. Veronique will accompany you and will make the load easier to handle." Veronique smiled to herself. She had quite the bone to pick with the Surla boy. The scar which Veronique boasted from her encounter with him still infuriated Veronique. Veronique simply mad was something. But enraged? So enthralled and furious that she could hardly stand to feel it, lest she set her insides on fire?

That was something else entirely.

"I'm going to do it," repeated Tinsley for about the four hundredth time.

"You're going to do it," snorted Veronique, glancing at Tinsley sympathetically. Her icy eyes penetrated Tinsley's soft violet ones and she smirked. "And I'll be by your side. This will be fun, Miss Carmicheal. You'll see...fun." Veronique licked her blood red lips and stared at Tinsley hungrily. Sensing Tinsley's discomfort, Veronique chuckled and looked towards her master once more. "My Lord, is that all?"

In the presence of a God, there were so many things that you could do wrong. You could make him angry, upset, frustrated, infuriated, disgusted, and so much more. There were so many things that you could take for granted... and so many points which would end up saving your life.

"Just kill him. There's nothing more that I can tell you," when, in reality, Azariah could write an entire book on the boy. The Dark Lord had the boy's personality in wraps; he knew everything that made him tick - including the many aspects of his person that even Hellius himself did not know about. Azariah knew about the parasite for he was the one that implanted it within the boy to begin with.

"You are dismissed. Get out of my sight."

The light from behind the Dark Lord dimmed, leaving the darkness surrounding them. The black was absolute, no stars in heaven brightened forest around them - it was a perfect dark. Azariah's silver eye broke the darkness, appearing as the single light illuminating on that night.

His toy soldiers marched off towards his puppet, awaiting his hand to command him.

...when in the presence of a God, never take anything he says for word value.

You may find yourself dead.

Veronique kept Tinsley close as she illuminated the tip of her wand, keeping her eyes ahead of her, concentrating. She continued to walk, every so often casting a sideways glance in Tinsley's direction. The young girl stared ahead, her gaze unwavering and her body language strong and determined. Veronique was nothing short of impressed.

Though she knew it was mere foolishness that kept Tinsley walking with her head high.

"You know," said Tinsley, "These Knights of Walpurgis...they wouldn't have anything to do with the explosion at the Ministry, would they, Veronique?"

"Well, you are smarter than you look," said Veronique with a sadistic chuckle. "You know, Tinsley - if I told you, then I'd have to kill you."

Tinsley didn't doubt this. The thought of her looming death seemed imminent. Whether it be at the hands of Hellius or Veronique, or even...that man...she shuddered and, for the first time, Veronique saw a glimpse into the girl hiding beneath her facade. "I told you not to be scared," she said in an accusatory tone.

"But I -"

"Shush," said Veronique fiercely, her arm swiftly yet silently moving across Tinsley's abdomen. Tinsley stopped in her tracks and looked to Veronique for an explanation. "The boy's nearby."

Tinsley inhaled shakily. This is it.

Hellius' eyes flew open and he breathed deeply, struggling to regain his composure away from his nightmare. His voice sounded scared, his existence haunted by the simplicity of his dreams. He sat up, pressing the blunt of his hands against his eyes. Again his dreams haunted him of his past and there was nothing he could do about it. Hissing, jumping to his feet, Hellius stomped over to a tree and yelled, hitting it repetitively with his fist.

Veronique giggled to herself, watching Hellius in the distance with a look of pure joy on her face. She got nothing more than sick pleasure out of watching him struggle. She put a cold hand on Tinsley's shoulder and turned her to face her. "You go and confront him. I'll be waiting here for you when you need me."

Tinsley's eyes widened. She had imagined Hellius maybe...sleeping, or relaxing, or thinking of sweet little Emma and not expecting an attack. The more Hellius punched the poor tree, the more Tinsley winced and imagined that tree being her skull.

"Don't be scared," hissed Veronique. "You have no idea what you're going up against. You're going up against the world which has held you back - fear has held you back. Release that fear...

...and kill him."

Tinsley wasn't sure if she should cry or not. Looking up into Veronique's icy eyes, she saw a glimmer of hope. Tinsley saw someone who could go through life unscathed - powerful. Power was what Tinsley needed.

Power was what Tinsley wanted. She nodded briskly, inhaling deeply and then smirking. She had been wearing a thick wool sweater to brave the moderate cold - she tossed it aside, wearing only the skimpiest of black ensembles. She sighed, unaware that blood was still running down her chin because of her lip. Veronique didn't wipe it away this time, but instead pushed her forward into Hellius' line of sight.

Tinsley smirked, her eyes flashing dangerously. Her bloodstained lips were curved into a wicked smile and Tinsley walked very slowly...stealthily, taking an annoyingly long time to move forward. She came around from behind the tree he punched and pressed her body up against it, grinning evilly. "Hellllll boyyyy," she teased. "Don't make it bad. Turn a sad song..." She continued singing with a cruel smile on her face. She seemed to be garnering a sick, sadistic pleasure from teasing him. "...and make it better."

Her song ended with silence. She sighed, all thought of only one thing. Hurt. "Come on, Hell boy, lighten up." Her tongue ran across her lips, collecting blood. "You might as well." You don't have much time left.

Hellius would have lost himself in pure rage - an uncontrolled anguish if it weren't for Tinsley rupturing his view. At first, he thought he was imagining things, and that's how he continued to view it for several minutes. He ignored her, trying not to believe that she was actually there. He had seen things like this before - a mirage, a lie. But until right at that point, Hellius decided to stop taking his anger out on the tree.

Glancing over his shoulder, making sure that no one else was in the area, he looked back to Tinsley, slapped his lips twice, and then lunged forward, striking her across the face with his knuckles with entire body weight.

Hellius simply wanted to test his theory - to prove to himself that it was just an illusion. However, at that moment when his fist collided with the girl's forehead, he was taken back; surprised.

Blinking at Tinsley, he shook his head and walked in the opposite direction.

"My eyes have been fooled before," he said after a moment of silence, "I'm surprised that you found me out here. Do you want to take me up on my offer?"

Tinsley had been bracing herself to be Hellius' punching bag. It would have been foolish of her not to. When Hellius' fist collided with her skull, she actually laughed, even through the pain she felt. It was a cold and mirthless laugh which left her bleeding lips, but it was still a laugh nonetheless.

She hit the ground hard and looked up at him from the floor, now bleeding from the back of her head. She felt the blood trickle down her neck, but picked herself up anyway, dusting her body off silently before her eyes flicked up to his face. They were piercing in the darkness engulfing the two teenagers, burning holes into Hellius. "How did you know I like to play rough?" After several prolonged moments of holding his eyes in hers, she ripped her eyes away his face to look at the sky overhead. She saw nothing - no moon yet. Just Hellius, walking away from her. Tinsley opened her mouth to hiss at him -

"My eyes have been fooled before," he said after a moment of silence, "I'm surprised that you found me out here. Do you want to take me up on my offer?"

With a sigh she tilted her head to the side and stepped forward, edging closer and closer to Hellius until her body was pressed into his.

"Why are you surprised that I found you?" said Tinsley, smiling while ignoring his proposition. "I'm a bit more clever than you might think." She paused. "But still you doubt me. Why?" Tinsley bit her lip and moved away from Hellius furtively, distracting him while taking great care to never turn her back on him.

"Hellius, you see, I'm frankly surprised we never got along. You, and me. We're more alike than when you just scratch the surface, aren't we? Even though you've probably denied that many times. You and me, you see...we're not that different." Tinsley paused again, enjoying the heavy silence between them. She stepped forward and, grinning wickedly, slipped her hand into Hellius' pocket to find a carton of cigarettes. Gently slipping one cigarette out, she slipped the carton back where she found it and ignited the cigarette with the tip of her wand in one swift motion. "You'd be rather surprised what I'm capable of," she said, blowing smoke into the air.

From behind the dark bushes, Veronique Duchense nodded approvingly, waiting to strike.
I'm the BO$$.
