Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

The Grounds; Day 5, During Ravenclaw VS Gryffindor

Ian flew out onto the grounds, the cold air biting his cheeks as he flew above the lawn. Though he could have been watching the game, Ian decided his time was better spent practicing flying. Plus, it was better for his racing thoughts that he keep his mind on something active, rather than passively watching a game whose outcome didn't matter much to him. (Ian only worried about the other teams' scores when it came close to the end of the season, when he would need to know how many points Slytherin would need in order to win the cup). Besides, as Ian practiced hairpin turns and loop-de-loops and the "sloth-grip roll" (a kind of maneuver that allowed the chaser to do a number of things such as quickly recover from being unseated from their broom and catch a Quaffle that flies under them, and is done by hanging off the broom-handle by one arm like a sloth and then rolling), Ian could hear Morgan Black commentating on the match. From what Ian could hear, so far, the score was Ravenclaw: twenty; and Gryffindor: zero. Apparently Summer Neilson, one of Gryffindor's chasers, had been injured, and Hellius Surla--a beater for Gryffindor--had committed a foul (not that Ian was surprised--it was Hellius they were talking about), earning Ravenclaw a free shot as a penalty. Overall, things were not looking good for Slytherin's rivals, which was all good and fine for Slytherin.

Ian continued flying, though as the time went by he began to grow bored of the repetition, and his mind began to wander to the things he sought not to think of.

Constanta strolled through the grounds briskly, intending at first to maybe see how the Quidditch match was going but saw off to the side a lone figure racing about on a broom on his own, apart from the game. She crossed her arms and moved closer, and soon she saw that it was Ian. She figured he would be more interesting than the game, considering it was just Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw. If Hufflepuff had been playing, that would have been entertaining. Watching them fall flat on their faces was something she wouldn't want to miss.

She approached Ian when he was flying lower to the ground. "Hey, Quidditch champion," she shouted above the wind.

Ian made his broom halt just in front of 'Stanta.

"Hey 'Stanta!" Ian meant to jump the distance to the ground and land on his feet, but he stumbled a bit coming off his broom and feel to his knees at 'Stanta's feet. "Woah--oof!"

"Forget you saw that, love." he said, smirking as he got up. There was a definite night and day difference between how he had been during breakfast, and now. In fact, he was acting much the way he used to before he'd met Lola. Of course, Stanta hadn't known him, then.

"So," he said, finding himself remembering breakfast early in the year, before he and Lola had officially been together, when he and Constanta had been all but flirting, "On your way to the game? Or does the prospect of hearing Morgan Black screech into a microphone for an hour or more turn you off? Can't say I blame you, really. From here it only sounds half as unbearable." Now that he and Lola were through, regardless of how it affected him inside or out, he could not help but notice just why he had been flirting with her in the first place.

Constanta laughed at Ian's not-too-graceful landing but mimed zipping her mouth shut with a chuckle. Even with the fall he seemed more confident suddenly, and she wondered why. She liked this side of him, though; he was easy to talk to.

"I was going to drag myself there, but," she shrugged, "His obnoxious prattling would have put me off before I ever heard it. Besides, even you falling off of your broom is more fun than seeing Gryffindor lose miserably as per usual," she added with a playful smirk. She noticed, for some reason, the way his hair was ruffled from flying around, the flush in his cheeks from the exercise, and she liked them.

"Well, then," he said with a mischievous grin, reaching out for his Nimbus 2001 as it flew down into his grip, "If you are entertained," he mounted the broom and hovered a bit above Constanta, "by me falling off my broom," Ian rose high into the air and called out from above, "then try to knock me off. I need to practice anyhow. You know the banishing spell, right? Send that stone over there flying at me, will you?"

Constanta grinned and stepped back a few feet as she pulled her wand from her pocket. "If you're sure. But if you're put in the Hospital Wing for this, the rock flew through the air of its own accord." She hoped that his coordination would be better this time around, because she really didn't want to injure him. Especially before the big match; her housemates would never forgive her.

Pointing her wand at the rock, she said, "Depulso!" and sent it soaring toward Ian in the sky.

Chelsea zoomed onto the lawns on her nimbus and loved the feeling of the air whoosh past her. It whipped her robes into a frenzy and slapped her dark braids against her coco coloured skin. Her eyes were fixed on her path. She was doing a few laps around the lawns and hearing the commentating from the stadium.
Good! ravenclaw are winning! she thought happily as she zoomed from one direction to another, trying to get her turn around quick and so as not to unbalance herself from the broom. She spotted two figures, one with a wand out and the other on a broom. Peering at them she realised they were Constanta and Ian from Slytherin.

"Ready to lose?" She cat called quite confidently. Something she had never even thought she would be able to say. But it seemed Chelsea's encounter the previous night and the plan she and Jamie had concocted had given her a spur of confidence. Not usually the competative type, Chelsea felt an unusual flair of defiance she could not explain. Hovering quite close to them, she grinned cunningly.

"We might look like a team of girls, but never heard of the saying, a woman scorn?" She laughed mockingly. "Seven women on the rampage, we'll wipe the floor with you Slyvvies!" She used Jay's favourite term for the Slytherins and she suspected they hated it. Turning on her broom, she made to do another lap around the lawns.
The stars may shine for you,
But the darkness falls on me!

Ian deftly dodged the rock with a leftward spin, and righted himself.

"Slyvvies?" Ian asked, "Oh that's cute. You're a master linguist, you are! See you on the pitch!" Ian retorted sarcastically, yelling out to her as the Hufflepuff sped off.

Ian landed--more gracefully this time--on the lawn in front of Constanta.

"See? I don't need to worry about bludgers," he said, "And if Miss Hubbard's quidditch-playing is as good as her wit, then we've got this in the bag."

Ian could not, at that point, help but notice her eyes. They were so large. Constanta's brown eyes caught the light of the sun. Ian had always thought that those with large eyes were blessed. Then he realized that he was staring, and snapped out of it.

"So...you want to test me again?" he asked, a bit awkwardly, "If you want I could show you how deftly I can dodge the Whomping Willow's branches." Before Ian had known what had gotten into him, he had the strong urge to show off in front of Constanta.

((OOC: I HAD to mention her big...eyes, lol.))

OOC; xD Nice, real nice. At least he actually means her eyes.
BIC;

Constanta laughed and nodded. "If she thinks a woman's scorn can win the game, she should be glad I'm not on the team," she said a bit haughtily. She felt comfortable talking to him, like they were friends who went way back.

After a moment she noticed he was staring intensely into her eyes; the realisation gave her a fluttery feeling in her stomach. She blinked quickly a few times to bring herself back, and he seemed abashed as well.

"Yeah, I'd love to see that. If you can fly through the branches without getting hit, we'll have no problem at all with the match."

Ian arched his eyebrow, having expected her to tell him he would be stupid to try it.

"Okay then," he said, no realizing that if she had told him he would be stupid to try it, she would be right, "I'll just--"

Just then, he heard Morgan Black's voice coming down from the Quidditch pitch, punctuated by loud cheers:

''Fantastic game! Diana Crawford, Gryffindor Sneeker has caught the Golden Snitch! Overall, that gives us 115-30 to Gryffindor. Automatically winning the Gryffindor Team the game. Hope you enjoy the next match, folks."

"What the--Gryffindor won!?" he exclaimed aloud, his head snapping back towards the direction of the pitch. He had been sure Ravenclaw had it in the bag! Then he realized that the next match would start soon, and that Ella would take the mickey out of him if he was late.

"I'd best go," he said, "I don't want to miss Collins' motivational speech," he said sarcastically. Then, acting on impulse, Ian closed his arms around her and hugged her like he had the night before. He released her when he realized he ought not be doing that. They were friends. And he was supposed to be coming out of a bad breakup--a breakup he'd not told anyone about. Ian backed away a bit and started running towards the pitch, calling back with a smile:

"Cheer for me!"

Broom over his shoulder, Ian fought against the flow of the crowds of returning students and to the Slytherin locker room.

Constanta's heart sank a little when Ian began to rush off to the game, but lifted again when he turned back and hugged her tightly. She was surprised but she hugged him back, feeling as though her stomach was twisting around itself. She blinked in confusion and let go when he did.

"Kick some Puff ass!" she called as he hurried toward the field and followed after him at a jog, wondering when she had suddenly become interested in Ian de Ponte du Lac.
