Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Constanta stared at the Ravenclaw girl strangely for a few seconds, perplexed by her calm exterior, before shaking her head at Precious. She obviously wasn't going to get any help, so she turned from the group and ran toward the castle to find someone.

Suddenly a atomic bomb of comotion seemed to explode. Vi this, Vi that. Melanie took a glance , though, she couldn't see anything but group of people panicing. Though she did over hear something of a hand? Burn? Hellius? What?
She was puzzled. "What a nice time to hurt someone ,and start a comotion in the middle of the night" she muttered under her breath. Whoever got hurt , she felt sorry for ,and for whoever hurt her , she seemed to guess that that person had a good reason to why he/she had hurt them . Unless that person was evil enough to just injure that person for their own enjoyment, but that was impossible....maybe. She stood up, but didn't head to where everyone was standing at , she headed towards the castle. -What an awesome night. she thought sarcasticly.

Jay couldn't believe his ears. Hellius? But why? He didn't know Violet that well but knew she had a certain reputation. That didn't give just cause to brutally attack her though. As she stood up and her legs seemed to not hold her. He caught her around the waist and stood up to steady her balance.

"Vi, do you need me to carry you? Or would you rather your friend just came with you?" He didn't want to force anything on the girl but knew she wouldn't walk to the hospital wing without some assistance. He was thankful for Jamie going to the castle. He had no idea why Chelsea and she had fallen out but whatever the reasons, Jamie still seemed nice. He looked at the girl's hands and shuddered with shock. What was Hellius thinking? He glanced around the group of girls and smiled weakly.

"Violet, I can carry you, or you can wait until a professor or the nurse arrives but you've had a huge shock," His voice was tentative, not patronising, and he was concerned about the girl. she looked whiter than the castle's ghosts.

"He didn't shatter my feet, I can fucking walk," spat Violet, now increasingly more dizzy as people seemed to run around like lost animals trying to figure out what to do with her. Contessa seemed to be refusing to take Violet because she hadn't said anything and the only people that were trying to help were treating this as if they had personally been hurt. As if they hadn't seen anyone attacked before - at least they didn't have to feel the horrible waves of deep, burning pain across her body. At least they didn't have the disturbing image of Hellius Surla forever ingrained into their minds.

Her pale cheeks were suddenly flushed with anger that no one seemed to be doing anything. And if they were, it was simply walking away without her. Violet screamed into the night air, and yelled, "I'm going, and if you want to come with me, then follow. We don't need me PASSING OUT in the corridors because, oh...hmmm." Vi tried to move her hand yet it only flopped around. She winced and a tear rolled down her cheek which she tried to wipe away, yet it felt like mere dough was passing her cheek. Her hands had been shattered and were shapeless - and the pain grew more and more as time passed. "MY BONES ARE SHATTERED."

Vi turned away from them. "Whatever." Vi's voice was a little shaky as she started walking back up to the castle by herself, her knees wobbly, her hands aching, feeling more alone than ever.

...Maybe I'm stronger than I thought.

Violetta's reaction was not one Jay had expected. He watched as she weakly walked toward the castle. Glancing around at the girls apologetically, feeling like, his male gene had once again failed him, he sheepishly walked a few steps. Glancing at summer and smiling, he struggled to find his voice. Why had Hellius shattered the girl's hands? What had she done so badly to warrant such cruel actions?

"Erm, I'm, erm," he began walking, putting his wand dumbly away and feeling like he'd failed as a guy. He knew it was his male pride thinking; he hardly knew Violetta, so why would he need to feel so bad? He had no duty to her or anyone else, but yet he still felt like he'd put his huge size nine feet into it.

"I'm gonna go and take my foot out of my mouth," he chuckled weakly, trying desperately to get the bravado he knew so well back again. The worst of this was that a perfect night had once again been shattered by an attack.

What is going on at Hogwarts? he wondered viciously an looked at Summer.

"Do you wanna come and see if Violettas OK? I know she's in your house," he trailed off, uncertain that anything he said at that moment would be good enough for anyone.

Constanta and Addie entered the grounds and skidded down the hill to where the group still stood minus Violetta. Stanta looked around for Hellius and thought she could see a figure about ten yards away, but it was hard to tell in the darkness. "Come on," she said to Addie, "I think he's over there." She began walking cautiously toward the figure.

Addie frowned and nodded slightly, feeling her stomach turn nervously. If Hellius was still in a bad mood, he could turn on her. That much was obvious, but she left her wand in her pocket. She would try this peacefully first.

"Hellius? Can I talk to you please?"

Hellius casually walked through the darkness, the only light coming from his direction emitting from the tip of his freshly lit cigarette. He swayed back and forth for no apparent reason and hummed more muggle songs. Destroying Violetta's hands made him happy both because of what she had done and what she could've done. Though she hadn't written absolutely horrible things about people in her paper before, Hellius hit her before she could; a hopeful warning.

With a smirk on his face, Addie's voice rang to his ears - it was a displeasing to him. His mood dampening a bit, he turned around as if a ballerina, still with a sarcastic grin.

"Yes, love?" He took a drag of his cigarette and cackled under his breath.

"I just want to talk to you, that's all. Would you tell me why you did that to Violetta?" Addie frowned slightly gazing at him. He was humming, clearly he was in a good mood. The sarcasm clear on his face didn't make her very confident either.

She was debating with herself. Yes, Hellius was dangerous, out of line... But at the same time, he generally had a reason for his actions, one he didn't tell others. She didn't want to fight him.

I don't know what to do if it comes to that...

"The little shithead was being her usual, nosy self. Essentially, she was writing lies and slander about me and everyone else that happened to be in my company," Hellius smiled a sarcastic grin again and took a deep drag of his already half depleted cancer stick. "I burned her notebook, but she was holding it too dear to her own body." Frowning as if in the moment and actually caring, he slumped his shoulders. "She told me to bite her," he whined, stomping his left foot. "But I couldn't do that.... because then she'd become one of us! So, instead, I did something even better. I destroyed her pretty little hands so she wouldn't spread lies to the magical community anymore."

Addie's eyes widened slightly. What was he talking about?

But she's always been so nice...

"Hellius, what do you mean by that? Write lies to the magical community?" Could Violetta possibly be the reason information was being leaked to the prophet?

"You shouldn't have done that regardless! Why not just tell the Headmistress?"

"Haven't you read her section in the newspaper? The Sparks Report? She works for the Prophet," Hellius sighed. He didn't believe himself when he actually said that he read that **** pile of a newspaper. "If you haven't noticed, the Headmistress didn't exactly get back until the night of Halloween. And then, I wasn't exactly protected under her. I'm a werewolf now, m'kay? That isn't exactly the best shit EVER."

Addie frowned, gazing at him. "I guess I see your point... Still, shattering her hands isn't exactly the best way of dealing with it... Though she really shouldn't be betraying our school like that." The girl commented, glancing around.

What were people expecting? Her to bring Hellius to his knees and make him repent? Not likely. Sure, he'd gone too far, though, it wasn't exactly unwarranted...

Sawyer turned her head slightly, her eyes narrowing as they surveyed the chaos that was occurring. She shoke her head and focused her attention back to Joeclyn.
"It seems like a walk in the park, better than being a badass all the time," She snorted viciously, not angry with Jocelyn, but angry at herself.
"Forget it..." Sawyer shrugged. Shaking her head and pulling out another cigarette. She lit up and slowly inhaled.
Suddenly she stode up, "I'll see you in the common room," She promised, as she began to walking away.
She didn't look back as she walked up the lawn and entered the castle.

Summer arched her eyebrows at Violetta, but didn't say anything. She felt a twinge of pity for the poor girl, but other than that, she rolled her eyes at Vi's horrible attitude. She watched as both Constanta and Jamie rushed back into the castle, Violet following them shortly by herself, before turning to Jayceon and giving him a wary smile.

"Wow. What the hell is happening to this school?" Summer asked, although it was a rhetorical question. She shook her head in disbelief. "I mean, first Tinsley and now Vi. It all seems to involve Hellius attacking someone. I wonder what's going on in that guy's head." Summer rolled her eyes and smiled at Jay, half in amazement and half in amusement.

Hellius threw his cigarette to the ground, unknowingly setting it in a pile of dry grass. A tiny flicker echoed in the grass and very subtly a flame started to grow. Shrugging to himself, he grew bored with his little sarcastic quirks and his attitude went plain. Taking a deep breath, he folded his hands behind his back. "And?" Hellius asked darkly. "I don't plan on turning myself in or getting caught, despite the witnesses."

Addie frowned, nodding slightly. "Should have seen that coming I guess. I haven't even looked at the prophet this past week. What has she written?" Addie asked, curiosity getting the better of her.

The girl glanced down to the small fire, watching it absently while waiting for his response.

"She wrote about Halloween and what happened during the dance. Plainly said: she's a gossip column. She writes about anything and everything people do," Hellius frowned, glancing around at the other parts of the grounds, expecting something to hit him.

He felt that way for no apparent reason lately. The Gryffindor felt as if everyone was out to get him, which they essentially were. "So what now, Addie? Will you turn me in? Let me go? Hell, I'm sure half the castle already knows that I fucked up someone else's life so there's no getting away, but really, what do you want to do?"

She bit down on her lip sharply, glancing away. She couldn't help feeling almost as though she were being scolded.

"I...I'm not sure. I mean, I don't think it was right of you, to do what you did... Then again, I don't support her gossip either." Addie frowned and shook her head. "Hellius, just try and stop hurting people, please?"

!Xabbu walked out onto the grounds. It was quite cold, but not nearly so as night in the desert back home. !Xabbu's breath was visible as a white mist. For a little while, !Xabbu meandered a bit towards the direction of the lake. The night was peaceful and quiet, save for the sound of upraised voices which drew !Xabbu from his calm. Not far from him, two of his housemates were arguing.

"Haven't you read her section in the newspaper? The Sparks Report? She works for the Prophet?" Demanded the larger form, clearly masculine. !Xabbu focused his attention on the distant forms, recognizing the first as the strong and imposing Hellius Surla. It was no secret that Hellius had proven himself to be a cruel and unapologetic person. !Xabbu had never met someone so callous and unkind towards his fellow man.

"I guess I see your point... Still, shattering her hands isn't exactly the best way of dealing with it... Though she really shouldn't be betraying our school like that."

The second voice, feminine and filled with an unwavering strength, belonged to Addison Lumineux, who stood in front of Hellius as if to act as some sort of poetic contrast to his own cruelty, for she herself seemed one of the kindest souls !Xabbu had ever known.

So...Hellius had harmed another one of his classmates. What self-righteous reason did he have this time to excuse his crimes? !Xabbu rarely regarded anyone with such scorn, but Hellius had given him good reason to for quite some time.

"And?" Hellius asked darkly. "I don't plan on turning myself in or getting caught, despite the witnesses."

"Should have seen that coming I guess. I haven't even looked at the prophet this past week. What has she written?"

!Xabbu could not help but admire Addison, for she looked Hellius in the eye even as the overbearing and--!Xabbu feared--somewhat unhinged Surla continued to glower at her. She was like the woman in one of !Xabbu's people's stories, who had been chased by Hyena. The woman, along with her husband and young child, had gone out into the desert alone. It was foolish, for all knew that Hyena still lurked there, the embodiment of death, the creatures anger having festered over the centuries after being punished by Grandfather Mantis for trying to impersonate his wife, Lynx.

Hyena had already killed the woman's husband, and had cornered her near the base of a great cliff as she carried her small babe. And in that moment of certain doom did she falter? Did she cower or plead? No. She stared down the great beast. She cared more for her child than herself. And it was in that moment, that a voice rang from above her, the voice of a baboon, who had always been Grandfather Mantis's enemies, calling her to their side. She made her way to the top, and together, they tricked Hyena into eating a hot stone (which they had told him was the woman's child, after agreeing that Hyena would have the child and leave them be). Hyena cried out in pain, his insides on fire from the hot stone. It was not long before the massive beast toppled over, and died.

To this day, !Xabbu's people referred to the baboons as "The People Who Sit on Their Heels" and whenever one his people are in great peril, the prayer that is often invoked is as thus: "I wish that The People Who Sit on Their Heels are sitting upon the hills." Would !Xabbu need to interfere? Surely he could suffice in the place of one of the people who sit on their heels. Still, !Xabbu watched and waited. If Addison managed to rouse Hellius' darker side, then !Xabbu would interfere for her sake, but she might take offense if he were to stick his nose in where it didn't belong.

((OOC: Hellius, feel free to do something that would make !Xabbu interfere if you wish.))
