Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Jay picked up a cheese sandwich and began to nibble on it contentedly.
"Yeah, we always seem to be eating, eh?" he laughed and put the rest of the sandwich into his mouth. "My grandmother is a fantastic cook, I miss her cooking. Auntie Anna is good too but nothing like my grandmother. She can make the most simplest meals taste the best," He looked around them and realised the air was chilling fast. He smiled and conjured a fire jar.

"At least we can stay warm. Can you imagine not having magic?" He wondered this to himself all of the time. His cousin's Grandmother was a muggle, or was it her grandfather? That wasn't important but he knew Chelsea found it as strange as he did.

Summer nodded intently. "Totally. I could never live without magic. " she agreed with a mouthful of food. Then, she shrugged and added, "Well, I guess that's because I grew up in the wizarding world. I can't imagine life without magic. If I were forced to live a muggle life..." Her voice trailed off and she shuddered a bit at the mere thought.

"My whole family's full of pure-bloods, actually," Summer continued. The warmth of the fire made it feel as if they were inside in the common rooms. "Except me, of course. My dad was muggle-born, but after he left, I've grown up in a pure-blood family, you could say," she chuckled softly.

Jocelyn laughed along with Sawyer, but the sound was humorous. The truth was, Jocelyn did know what Sawyer was saying, probably better than anyone else thought. She would admit it too, but that wasn't the problem. Maybe the problem was that she didn't know how to explain it. How could she explain how, for her entire life - ever since the day she was born - all she had been trying to do was just fit in? That was all she had ever wanted, just to be like everyone else. Just to feel happy about herself, for once in her life. And to get that, she had become someone else .. someone she had wanted to be, but now that she was, she wasn't so sure anymore.

But how can I explain that? she thought to herself bitterly.

"I guess I actually do know what you mean. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but I think I get it," Jocelyn began, the smile fading off of her mouth and being replaced by a different expression, an expression that had never before been seen on Jocelyn's face. Well, maybe that's because I've never felt like this before ... Or maybe I have, but I never realized it.

"Yeah, I know exactly what you mean," added Jocelyn, more confidently this time. "It's like you've tried so hard. But it's never been good enough. It's like ... no matter what I do, I can't be someone else. I can fake it, but I can't be it. And, even though it's all I've ever wanted, I'm beginning to regret it because I've just … lost myself trying to do it, I guess." Jocelyn sighed and, slowly, a grin crept onto her lips. "I guess it doesn't make a lot of sense, even to me. I just ... can't explain it." She rolled her eyes at her own pathetic words, hoping - praying - that Sawyer would be the one person who understood.

Sawyer fiddled with the zipper on her jacket, letting her Winston dangle from her lower lip haphazardly. She breathed a sigh of relief, taking another extensive drag off her cigarette. Her lungs burned, wheezing for nicotine-free air but Sawyer denied them.
"I know" She began chuckling, "You can't describe it...but its deffinitely there. You know what it is, but its impossible to share with someone else because you can't find the right words to characterize it..." She pulled on her cigarette again, holding in her breath for as long as she could without coughing. Coughing smokers are weak smokers she had constantly reminded herself. She hoped she wasn't sounding too psychopathic, she was grateful for Jocelyn's company.
"You know, I wasn't always this..." She struggled to find the right word, "...this hardened" She confided in a whisper. Her breathing was calm yet her pulse was still pounding annoyingly on the right side of her neck. Suddenly she snorted, hardened! She repeated to herself, "HARDENED!" She gasped as she gulped for air. Her voice cracked, which made her giggle uncontrollably.
She froze after a few seconds, or was it mintues, of insanity and avoided Jocelyn's gaze, "Get a grip, Sawyer!" She demanded of herself. She straightened, inhale her cigarette that was almost just a nub and flicked into the stones where it dissappeared.
"I was actually kinda like..." She paused with uncertainty. What have I got to lose? Sawyer asked herself before advancing, "Well, a bit like you actually..." Sawyer grinned sheepishly hoping that Jocelyn didn't take offensive to the comparison.

He stuffed another sandwich into his mouth before responding.

"I know what you mean. My father and mother were both from pure blooded families," He wiped his mouth before picking up a pumpkin pasty. "I didn't even realise how muggles did things until I met chelsea's grandparents. Chellie hates it when they visited because she's forbidden to do magic in front of her. I love magic and would never want to live without it," He chuckled and took a bite of the pumpkin. "Do you like playing wizarding chess, Summer?" He smiled warmly, his competitive side showing again.

James tried to ignore the fact that Sawyer and Joss were outside as he led Precious onto the grounds and towards a secluded area, farther away from the girls. The two Slytherins were mere dots in the distance, and he couldn't hear what they were up to even if he strained. He felt happy because it meant that they wouldn't be able to tell what he and Precious were up to, either, but still. The two girls could be up to nothing but trouble...he knew Sawyer better than anyone.

Regardless, James held Precious' hand as he brought her to the edge of the Forbidden Forest. He peeked his head in and brought Precious down a small trail, never going deep in the forest. Light still flooded in where they were standing on the outskirts of the massive trees. James finally found a familiar stream and he breathed a sigh of relief when he saw nothing had been touched.

Just on the other side of the shallow stream was a small clearing. There, the grass was as soft as a blanket and sprinkled with dew. Elegant trees wound up to the sky, sprinkled here and there with exotic flowers. The evening brought a setting sun, fading into the darkness. The sky was as though it were a painting, with brilliant, vibrant pinks and oranges.

In the middle of this clearing among flowers was an easel, with paint, and a chair a few feet away from it facing the setting sun. James smiled awkwardly at Precious. "I-I'd like to paint you." He bit his lip. She probably thinks I'm such a creeper! But James went to his easel anyway, taking a paint brush from his back pocket and licking it before opening up a tray of Muggle paints.

"Have a seat," he said with a friendly smile.

Precious ignored the fact that Sawyer and Jocelyn were here, and followed James. She was careful not to step in the small river-just to be sure it didn't happen again. Not in front of James. Not yet. The scenery was beautiful though. Precious was amazed at how beautiful mother nature could be. She sat down on the blanket, but fidgeted uncomfortable because of the dew. But she tried to show no signs of discomfort-for James. James had asked if he could paint her. Precious raised her eyebrows but smiled. She didn't want to say something stupid like: "Oh yes I knew you would. I'm so beautiful!" or: "This will cost a trillion dollars because it's so valuable!" but instead she shut the bitch away and simply said:
"Go ahead, dear." Precious said with a smile.

James would occasionally smile at Precious from behind his easel - a man with a plan. He'd look at her and examine her, taking this time to stare into her eyes for prolonged amounts of time without having to feel so awkward about it. The setting sun behind her seemed so match the pink of her hair a bit, but James decided to do something different.

He wanted to paint Precious without any color. Without any of the color linked to her hair - basically, her personality. He wanted to peel away at the many layers of Precious Hindert and find her core, because he knew under it all there was a girl. The pink hair, the makeup, the attitude...it was a mask. And he wanted to get to know the girl she used to be.

He sighed and began to sketch with only a pencil. Smudges soon accumulated on his hands and on his face, yet he kept on, humming at times as he did so. He didn't want Precious to be uncomfortable, but he became so engrossed in his art work she soon melted away, and he only saw the piece in front of him.

James sighed. By the time he was content with his work, the sun setting behind Precious had almost faded, leaving the sky a mix of navy blues and purples. He sighed at his work...it was missing something.

And then he laughed openly, looking at Precious. It was missing life.

It was missing pink.

He mixed red paint with a bit of water he conjured from the tip of his wand and splashed the pink in the background, with the black and white Precious in the foreground. His painting had a deeper meaning than he had intended it to have. He nervously brought it over to Precious and held it out in front of her.

"W-What do you think?" he said quietly.

Precious stared at the picture. It-it was a masterpiece! It was something even Precious couldn't explain. It was just simply beautiful. She smiled. Her fingers ran across James face, and Precious had to giggle. She noticed the pencil smudges on his face and smirked. She quietly got up and ran to the river, but suddenly tripped on a rock. She fell into the river, screaming. James couldn't-wouldn't find out. Not yet.
"HELP ME!" Precious screamed, struggling to get up. She couldn't get up, her ankle was caught in a hole. Yikes.

James' heart stopped for a split second and he rushed to Precious' side. "Here, I've got you," James leaned over and yanked on her ankle, easing it out of the hole. With his other hand he pulled her up by her arm roughly, as it was his first instinct.

"I'm sorry if I hurt you," said James quickly, retrieving a leaf from Precious' hair.

Precious backed away from the river. But it also meant backing away from James.
"I-I'm sorry James. It's not you, it's me. I've got this weird thing...listen, let's head up to the castle, it's getting cold-and I want the painting by the way." Precious said, trying to change the subject. Precious had blown it. The romantic scene-gone. Zero. Zip.
"I'm sorry." she said with an honest tone. Precious was never honest. Was James going to bring out the real Precious? She had to wonder.

"Don't be sorry, silly," smiled James, taking Precious' hand and walking her back up to the castle. He shivered in the cold night air and said as they walked, "You know, you looked very pretty tonight."

At the entrance to reenter the school, James stopped. He handed Precious her painting and leaned forward to kiss her forehead. "I hope you like it."

James yawned. "So...I'll see you in the common room?" He let go of her hand hesitantly and smiled awkwardly, entering the school and leaving Precious behind.

Precious blushed. James had treated her right, and she knew it. She could feel her face burning as he kissed her forehead. She sighed.
"Oh James" Precious said to herself. James was perfect for her-for now. Precious walked up to the castle, with her arms wrapped tight around the lovely painting .

Contessa walked along the lake whistling, with her hands in her pockets as she did so. Sitting alone at lunch wasn't too bad, so sitting outside, in her favorite weather could be much better.

Finding a large rock to perch herself on, Tessa slowly made her way over and sat down on it. She nodded at the two Slytherin girls, who were still a distance away, and turned her head back to focus on the lake. Contessa ran a hand through her auburn hair, letting the breeze take the rest of it, as she watched the ripples in the lake flow lazily.

Constanta left the castle and walked along the grounds to the lake, a place she found herself going back to again and again. It was a calm place, though often there were already others there trying to get away from it all. That seemed to be the case now, as she could see a girl, Gryffindor by the looks of it, sitting on a rock.

She sighed and took a seat a few feet from the girl, murmuring a quiet greeting as she pulled her legs up to her chest. She could see that below, Jocelyn and Sawyer were talking.

If we see a man glorifying his race, gender, or creed, we can understand there is nothing about himself that deserves glorification.

There was always an old willow tree out by the lake which caught Hellius' attention, yet he always took into consideration that it was too old to actually support his body weight. The bark was black and crusty - he figured that what laid below was thin and flaky. At this point, the Gryffindor had decided that he didn't give a shit if the tree broke beneath his weight and impaled him in the stomach or actually held him up. There wasn't much that he actually wanted to deal with in the world, and while he wasn't suicidal, he wasn't particularly motivated by anything; save for a few exceptions.

From the edge of the lake, the stench from Hellius' cigarettes could be smelt and traced back to the willow tree which sat daintily for all to see. Hellius was perched comfortably between two forking trunks where he had been for about an hour.

Precious quietly sauntered onto the grounds. The girl was quiet, amazed that someone had actually liked her. Weird. Her eyes wondered to the lake area and Constanta caught Precious' eye-but the familiar stench of cigarette also caught her attention. The Slytherin made her way to Constanta, with a smile growing onto her face. Finally, she had reached her, only yet to realize there was was a Gryffindor sitting a few feet away from her. Precious sat down next to Constanta, sitting Indian-style.
"Good evening, Constanta." Precious chirped, eying the nearby Gryffindor and watching her every move.

OOC: sorry it took a such a long time, but my computer was effed up. Hopefully, this time it will behave.

Before Jocelyn could answer Sawyer, two familiar figures walked out onto the grounds. Jocelyn could tell who they were - mainly by the girl's vibrant pink hair - and ignored them completely. Besides, she was two far away from where them to even see what they were doing.

Jocelyn turned back to Sawyer, only after James and Precious had both went back to the castle. "Um, so what were you saying?" she asked apprehensively, shifting uncomfortably on the log and trying to silently clear her throat. What she didn't notice was that Constanta and Precious were both just a few feet behind her.

Summer chuckled, taking another bite of the sandwich. She leaned her back against the bark of a large tree and grinned. "Yeah, I don't think I could survive without magic," she commented with a giggle. Her eyes were slowly drooping, but she stifled a yawn. She couldn't - wouldn't - let sleep come to her now, when she was having such an amazing time. It wasn't even that late, anyways. The sun was still pretty high up in the horizon.

"Do you like playing wizarding chess, Summer?"

Summer's eyebrows rose at the question and she couldn't help but blush. Another thing she sucked horribly at. "Well, I've played a few times with my sister, but I'm not very good," Sum informed him with a shy smile. "I'm not very good, though. Taylor's only eight and she's beaten me every time so far."

Jamie casually strolled out onto the grounds, a sigh escaping her lips. She approached the edge of the lake, nodding politely at the two Gryffindors already there, but ignoring the two groups of Slytherin girls. Her stomach grumbled hungrily, which was strange considering that she had only just eaten dinner. Jamie sighed and frowned again, her eyebrows puckering. She collapsed onto the ground, still at the very edge of the lake, and sat cross-legged.

Jamie couldn't help but yawn, although she wasn't the slightest bit tired. She stretched out her arms and gently picked up a few pebbles from the ground. She had a sudden urge to throw the pebble into the lake and watch the water splash delicately, but restrained herself. She placed the pebbles back down onto the ground and sighed again.
