Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Jay smirked and flew steadily beside her, maintaining a good speed but not a crazy one so he'd overtake her again.
"I don't think Xander Johnson would like me joining any team where his precious Ravenclaw were concerned," He smiled broadly. "I can't blame the guy, he has a competitive nature just like me. So who am I to stand in his way. I just fly for fun now. And maybe one day I can return to Kenya and play quidditch again," He sighed deeply, feeling a tad home sick for his mother land. He'd loved their house, amongst a safari of animals. Elephants, lions, tigers, snakes and that was the non magical creatures. He looked at Summer warmly then. "You ever been to Kenya, Summer?"

Summer grinned and nodded. "Yep, the guy sure is competitive. But who ever said that's a bad thing?" She chuckled, highly amused with herself. She maintained the steady speed Jayceon was keeping, wondering if they ever would find out who was the fastest between them. Just then, Jay startled Summer and snapped her back to reality with a question.

"No, I've never been there. I'm from Italy, actually." Summer smiled at the mention of her old home. She had loved everything about Italy and sometimes she regretted ever even moving away from there. But it wasn't like she had a choice - her mother would have never allowed it.

"But I'd love to visit. Maybe we could go sometime?" she asked, although she knew that probably wasn't possible. Summer noticed the abrupt sadness in Jay's voice and frowned. "You must really miss it there. I know exactly how you feel..." Summer's voice trailed off and she looked down at the handle of her broomstick.

Jayceon smiled at Summer and nodded, shielding his eyes with one hand from the wind and the tears brimming there.

"I do miss it a great deal," He said gently. "Italy's a beautiful country. I spent a whole summer there with my mother and sister, Bella, the year before she died. I loved Rome!" He looked at Summer now, keeping one eye on where he was heading. They seemed to be circling around the lake. "I always knew you were a choubella!" he laughed at his appalling Italian accent. The smoothness of the Italian language and his own deep Kenyon Accent collided dramatically. His eyes sharpened at the mention of them visiting Kenya together.

"I'd love for you to come and visit," His eyes sparkled with a renewed joy as he spoke. "My sister still lives there with my grandmother. Father thought I'd improve with school by coming to Hogwarts. I guess he didn't bank on the problems following us to England. Chellie says that father can't deal with me because I remind him so much of her," His smile faded a second as he thought sorrowfully of his beautiful mother but then he grinned again, urging the broom forward and flattening himself to the handle. He zoomed ahead and then did a 180 degree turn, looping and then coming to ride back along side her again. By distracting himself, he may be able to forget that the next day was the anniversary of her death!

Sawyer walked briskly out onto the grounds, making her way towards the black lake. She breathed heavily as she reached the banks, sitting on a moldy looking log close to the edge of the water she took out her package of cigarettes and lit one up; she inhaled slowly.
She gazed aross the lake, the sun was starting its slow decent behind the mountains and she felt free, uncharacteristically liberated - out here, alone by the lake Sawyer didn't feel the need to act tough, or angry, or misunderstood; she could just be Sawyer.
But who is the real Sawyer?, she asked herself thoughtfully, taking another drag from her burning cigarette and ashing in the pebbles near her feet.
She sighed dramatically, she didn't want to go to the great hall - didn't want to have to act tough as nails as she normally would have around Kayden and especially around Tinsley.
She took another drag, exhaled and began humming to herself.
Your losing it Sawyer, she warned herself.

"You can't lose what you never had," She responed out loud as she threw her head back, laughing heartily as her whole bony frame shook.

Summer laughed at his imitation of an Italian accent. "Hahaa, grazie," she replied heartily, beaming with enthusiasm. Her olive green eyes lit up when Jay told her he would love for her to visit. Summer's smile grew wider and she shoved a strand of dark hair out of her eyes.

"Really? I'd love that, too." Summer peered at Jayceon out of the corner of her eye and smiled gratefully at him. Yeah, more like I'd love to get away from annoying little Taylor for a while... she thought and then immediately felt a bit ashamed. It wasn't her mum's fault that she had to spend her whole day working, making Summer responsible for babysitting. Still, she retorted angrily to herself, I shouldn't have to do the same damn thing whenever I come home for summer vacation.

Snapping back to reality, Summer turned again to Jay. She rolled her eyes when he did a 180 in midair. Show-off, she thought to herself, although she was grinning widely, her eyes wide with enthusiasm. Suddenly, her stomach growled, so loudly that she was sure somebody in Alaska had heard her. Summer flushed tomato red in embarrassment.

"Yikes, I was having so much fun, I forgot how hungry I am," she chuckled, patting her as good as empty stomach. Sometimes, she really hated how often she got hungry. "And tomorrow morning's the match," she thought, biting her bottom lip. Her stomach did a small flip at the reminder. "Addie will kill me if I don't eat anything." Summer turned apologetically to Jayceon and pressed her lips together. "I guess we never will know who's the fastest," she added with a small chuckle, although she was really sorry that the day had to end so soon. This was probably the most fun she had ever had in a long, long time.

"What? Are you going to curse me or not?" Jocelyn asked harshly, a bit angry now at his reluctance. She crossed her arms and rolled her eyes, then smirked.

"Fine, whatever. I knew you wouldn't have it in you," hissed Jocelyn, the smirk pasted on her lips growing ever so wider. "The thing that pranksters like you don't understand is that life isn't all fun and games. You can't just curse people and think you'll get away with it if you just laugh it off. You have to pay the price. But I guess that's something you'll never understand. Mudblood," she added again in a whisper. She shook her head and turned on her heels before strutting away.

At the last minute, Jocelyn changed her mind and turned on her heels, heading back onto the grounds, but this time towards the lake. Her cold blue eyes scanned the banks of the water and landed on a familiar figure sitting on a log near the edge. Jocelyn's eyebrows rose as the figure began laughing and suppressed a smile. She approached the figure and folded her arms.

"Um, are you alright?" Jocelyn asked Sawyer, her eyebrows still arched and her arms still crossed. At last, she couldn't restrain anymore; she began laughing softly, but heartily and took a seat on the log besides her.

"So, shouldn't you be in the Great Hall, planning with Tinsley and Kayden on how to ruin someone else's life?" she asked, her voice blank and her face impassive. She looked out onto the lake and restrained herself from sighing. Shouldn't you be the person I was a few days ago?

Sawyer smiled warmly at Jocelyn, "No, I'm not alright," She giggled, flicking her cigarette onto the ground where it disappeared in the stones.

"So, shouldn't you be in the Great Hall, planning with Tinsley and Kayden on how to ruin someone else's life?"

Saywer thought for a moment, she didn't really know Jocelyn, and the only thing Jocelyn knew about her was that she was tough. Sawyer snorted, "You know, I'm not feeling very vindictive today..." She continued, speaking softly and in a genuinely nice voice, "What about you?"
Sawyer had enjoyed being alone out on the lake, but with Jocelyn here, she felt real, like she didn't have to pretend anymore.

Jay watched her with warmth soaring in his heart.
"I guess we won't," He responded, pulling his broom into a downward descent.

"You want some snacks?" He pointed to his robes. "I have pumpkin pasties, cauldron cakes and chocolate frogs, not to mention the sandwiches the house elves made for me." He indicated his robes where a small bag sat with the food inside it. He loved this and dreaded the bell ringing for the return to classes.

Jocelyn nodded and shrugged, bending over to make a pathetic circle with the pebbles that were laid out on the ground. "Same with me, really," she replied, sitting up straight and turning to face Sawyer. She smiled warily up at her.

"I guess it's just that people have changed," continued Jocelyn, still maintaining the same impassive expression. "Besides, I don't think Tinsley likes me very much at the moment, so I'd rather stay away from her." Jocelyn laughed softly and smiled warmly at Sawyer. Jocelyn knew that Sawyer was tough, probably tougher than any other Slytherin. But did that mean she could trust her? Or was she just another one of those Slytherins; one of those girls Jocelyn had tried so hard to be and had finally even become. That is, until it had all just fell apart...

Summer's eyes lit up when Jayceon mentioned food. This meant that she could stay out on the grounds, flying around the lake, and most importantly, stay with Jay. She was having so much fun, she dreaded the moment when they would have to return to the castle. She nodded eagerly. "Yes, please."

"Of course," He smiled broadly at Summer. "Shall we take a spot over there?" He pointed toward the edge of the lake and some trees where they could sit. He pulled his broom into a landing and lay his broom on the grass. Pulling his wand from his sleeve he conjured a blanket.

"Accio blanket," He called and a blue blanket fell at his feet. He set to work straightening the blanket, quite unsuccessfully. He laughed at himself and his pathetic attempt to straighten the blankets. He often didn't bother to make his bed because of this exact reason. He looked to Summer for some help.

"Could you...?" he trailed off hoping she wouldn't think he was assuming just because she was a girl, she knew what to do. His hands hung at his sides uselessly.

Summer bit her lower lip and nodded eagerly, not saying anything. She seemed to be getting used to the thrill she always felt when she was around him. She landed smoothly on the grass near the edge of the lake where he had landed before her. Summer laid her broom down on the sea of grass besides them and walked over to where Jay was standing.

"Could you...?"

Summer rolled her eyes at his pathetic attempt to straighten the blankets, yet her eyes were smiling enthusiastically. She picked up the blanket from the ground and shook it off slightly. Then, she slowly laid it back down onto the grass, now perfectly smooth. Summer smiled broadly up at Jay and collapsed onto her knees on the blanket.

He dropped down beside her, grinning appreciatively.
"Thanks," he said with a shameful look upon his dark face as his eyes sparkled brilliantly with joy. He pulled a tiny bag from his robes and reached inside it. Out of the blue bag he pulled a box of an assortment of sandwiches from the kitchens, a couple of pumpkin pasties and several cauldron cakes, all boxed up. He smiled with great surprise as he pulled four bottles of butterbeer and two boxes of chocolate frogs from the depths of the bag. It was only a small, string bag but it was magically designed to hold many things. He grinned as he placed the food out in front of them.

"I know it isn't a feast, but here we go, dig in!" He watched Summer happily as he opened the big cardboard box to reveal many different sandwiches. "If there's one thing I know how to do, it's how to get food," he informed her without prompting.

Summer's eyebrows rose at the sight of food. How he could fit so much food in such a little space, she didn't have the slightest clue. Magic, probably. Duh, she reminded herself silently, rolling her eyes at her own dumbfounded state.

Summer sat down on the blanket, cross-legged, and next to Jay. She grabbed a random sandwich, not caring what kind it was in her severe hunger, and started eating. With a mouthful of food she commented, "You're right. Whenever I'm with you, we always seem to be eating."

She chuckled softly and the gentle breeze flew a strand of hair out of place. Summer couldn't help but smile as she took another bite of her sandwich; she wished this evening, this moment, this feeling of unreasonable joy, would never end. But soon, she realized with a sigh, the bell would ring and she would be forced to go back inside.

Sawyer nodded her head in agreement and with a small smile replied, "Tinsley doesn't like me that much either...but we've made amends," She paused, debating whether or to continue.
"For now..." She added bitterly.
She kicked her foot, sending dozens of tiny rocks flying forward, some landing in the lake with the tiniest of plops.
She hesitated, looking at Joeclyn critically, "To be completely honest, you don't really look like the cruel, vengeful type..." Sawyer shrugged, raising one of her eyebrows and waiting for her reaction.

Jocelyn nodded as well, agreeing with Sawyer. "Yeah. I guess with Tinsley, you never know what she'll do..." Her voice trailed off and she was quiet for a moment, until Sawyer surprised her with a comment. Jocelyn's eyebrows rose and a grin slowly crept onto her mouth.

"Really? I guess I've never done anything cruel or vengeful. Who knows. Maybe I'm not the type, actually," she replied. Her voice was calm, but there was a clear hint of shock in it. "Or maybe it's just Tinsley who brings out the sweeter part in me." She chuckled softly when she used the words Tinsley and sweeter in one sentence. "But if you're going to say that, don't say it now. Like you, I'm not feeling very vindictive today either..."

"I guess we all just have our off days," Sawyer suggested, repressing a laugh.
When wasn't she having an off day, like really? She thought, pressing her thin fingers to her temples and closing her eyes tightly.
She grunted, "Do you ever feel like everything is just...too much?"
...because thats how I feel, all the time she whispered to herself.

Jocelyn shrugged. Off in what way? she asked herself bitterly. Sawyer's next question, however, caught Jocelyn off guard. She turned to glance at Sawyer with her ice blue eyes and arched an eyebrow. "Too much? What do you mean?" she asked, biting her lower lip and puckering her eyebrows. Uh-oh...

"Too much? What do you mean?"
Sawyer sighed, her head in her palms.
"I don't even know..." She paused, snapped her head up as she began explaining, "Like...you know, you can't handle anything? That feeling you get when everything is wrong and nothing you do can set it right? Like an out of body experience only worst...as if the whole world is in the great hall...and you're outside, looking in. Its like nothing I do is ever good enough so I have to fake being...whatever. Nothing seems real anymore." She breathed deeply, "Like you can't escape anything you've done, or anything that you've been through...I know I don't make any sense but...do you get what I mean?" Her breathing was rapid as she pulled out another cigarette and lit it; she inhaled quickly.

After a moment of silence, "Don't even listen to me, I'm extremely mellodramatic today," She said, bursting into laughter and making her air pour out of her mouth in a thick cloud of smoke.

She was going crazy, literally.
