| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. The difference between what's right and wrong - what's moral, and what's not. Sometime you learn what is acceptable by society, and what is not. It is time to take a stand, but on which side? Do you walk against the tides or follow the sweeping crowd, overwhelmed by its urgent pull? This is exactly the problem I face. The problem we all face. Are we like those who stood before us? Are we going to be like those who taught us to be ignorant? Or will we break the mold, break the chains that bind us to our family's past? Life is knocking. I can hear it. I am facing a door, and I hear life knocking. But will I answer the door? ...or will I wait for someone else to open it for me? Violet's hand stopped as her ink jar fell to the floor with a sharp clang. Lost in a haze of thought and imagination, her hands were stained with the black ink oozing from her quill as she quickly muttered, "Scourgify," to clean the mess she had inadvertently made. She was sitting in the corridors just outside the library, sighing as she seemed to be running away from her "special friend" Xander Johnson and the rest of the crushing world. Now, however, she was calm, and reflected over her words with a bored yawn. Didn't think I could get so...emotional. She folded the paper and slipped it into her trusty bag, brushing her velvety black hair out of her face. Only a few hours ago, it had been blond. But why? The information Violet had found in the library was a start, but how did she know she didn't just...have a vivid imagination? This would be easier if I had someone to turn to. The someone she would have liked to depend on was probably pining in a library corner, refusing to make a commitment. Even if we are young...it doesn't matter! Perhaps Mr. Johnson was right. I've been wrong before. Violet paced the corridors alone, trying to figure out her first plan of action...Class is so not important right now... |

James bit his lip as he walked, trying to clear his mind. He wondered if Tinsley or Joss had went to class, really longing to have a bit of companionship at the moment. His whole life had been flipped, and a bit of solace would be nice, although nowhere he turned offered it to him. Yet, as in all circumstances, he knew he was making a bigger deal out of it than he should have been. He stumbled into the corridor leading towards the library and paused, seeing a small dark haired girl nervously pacing as if contemplating something huge and important. James cleared his throat, his eyes wide. "Uhm...hi." |

Violet jumped, her chocolate brown eyes turning on James and staring at him intently, biting her lip to avoid snapping the witty remark she was holding back. Violet did not appreciate being interrupted when she was so deep in thought...but she could use the company. "Hello." She arched an eyebrow and walked towards him, holding her hand out stiffly and speaking to him as she would speak to a possible employer rather than a schoolmate. "My name is Violetta. Violetta Sparks, to be exact. You've probably heard of me." |

James shook her hand and cleared his throat, blushing slightly as the girl shook his hand sternly. She seemed sophisticated and rather stiff, as though she hadn't seen the light of day much. He could teach her a thing or two about life with the simple stroke of a paintbrush. Yet the source of her stiffness became quite clear when James learned who the girl was - the promising journalist who was rather catty around the school, who had lately been talked about for exposing scandal after scandal in the Daily Prophet. James didn't like her type. One. Bit. "Oh, you," said James, trying to still remain polite although he detested the kind of girls who spewed drama and gossiped incessantly. Lately, though, he had been ashamed in the way he was judging his peers and decided to try and give this girl - Violetta - a proper chance at a first impression. "Yes, I've heard a lot about you. Promising young teen on the brink of making history...no pressure, though." James leaned against the wall, glancing at her pale face. She seemed stressed, and he didn't blame her. "You look almost as upset as I do. But, I should remember my manners." I'm so awkward. James chuckled to himself, watching Violet squirm uneasily. "My name is James. James Christie." |

Violet smiled at him after pausing. Her endless worries were getting her nowhere and giving her nothing except more pressure. She didn't need any more of that, which was obvious by the way James obliviously pointed it out. Ugh. Boys. Yet the mention of his name made her eyes sparkle. His name was so familiar, and on the tip of her tongue...but where had she heard it? "Hi, James," smiled Violet, awkwardly running her fingers through her dark black hair. Suddenly, though, she stomped on the floor. "I know your name from somewhere, and I just can't seem to figure it out! James Christie...James Christie. I haven't written anything about you before, have I?" Her concerned facial expression was a bit shocking to James, as was visible on his face as well. Violet clicked her tongue on the roof of her mouth nervously awaiting an answer and readying an apology - the editors did it! Don't attack me! And then it hit her. "Oh! You're Kayden's friend, aren't you?" Violet smacked her forehead as if she should have remembered this fact a long time before. "I'm her sister." Cue the awkward silence... |

...Sister? James choked on a bit of spit as it went down the wrong pipe and he coughed ferociously for a few moments, trying to catch his thoughts. In all of the years he had known Kayden, he had never known her to have a sister. In fact...she had always been quite sad about the fact that she only had a brother and no sister to play dolls with. Kay had Sawyer, of course, but there was nothing like a true blood sister to return home to every night...Kayden had always said that. And now she had a sister?! Time really does pass! James coughed for the last time and massaged his throat, staring at Violetta disbelievingly. "I - I had no idea she even HAD a sister." He looked visibly shocked and rattled as though she had just told him she was pregnant with his child and they had never met before. "That's...just...wow." |

Violet paused for a moment. It was true, the information was still quite new to both the girls. Yet Violetta expected Kayden to at least tell a few of her friends...was she ashamed to have a sister from Gryffindor? Tossing back her black hair, Violet smirked. "Well, yes, believe it or not. Her father and my mother had a past, however brief it may have been. And I am the result." How proud they must be...Even if Dragomir Slayer had yet to realize Violetta even existed... and still, Vi wondered what could possibly run through his mind when he thought of Violet's mother, and if he had somewhere, in the back of his mind, pushed away the dulling memories from that fateful encounter. "Don't be too taken aback by the news - it's very new. Although I'm surprised that the two of you haven't spoken about it. I was under the impression she was on good terms with everyone in her house. Suppose I was...wrong." |

"Too wrong," mumbled James, distinctly thinking of Tinsley again. Lately she had been drifting in and out of his thoughts, for he knew her tough exterior that made many a classmate wince was just that - an exterior. It seemed odd that now she was so harsh and bitter when her early years, she had been quite sweet. Yes, she had always been unusually cunning for her age, always showing signs of being horribly spoiled and haughty - but she had a sweet heart as well. That same heart that had been so caring now seemed blackened with rage, anxiety, and sadistic tendencies. James watched Violet's black hair glint purple in the light, and he longed to paint her, even for a short moment. So, Dragomir Slayer? He always seemed to be a bit too lustful for his own good. Should have known one day it would come back to bite him straight in the baby maker. He was staring at the live consequences. "You do look like her a bit," said James uneasily, watching Violet's intense brown eyes scan his face inquisitively. "You have similar smiles...see, we were childhood friends. But I'd rather not talk about that just now." ...Or at all. "Why were you pacing?" asked James suddenly. "People tend to pace when nervous. Herbology quiz got you down?" James chuckled at what he thought was a witty remark. |

"I'm actually good at Herbology, it's just everything else I seem to suck at," smirked Violet thoughtfully, sounding resolved to the fact that she would inevitably fail at whatever she was trying to accomplish. "There's a lot to deal with being as successful and young as me!" Violet grinned. The sound of her own name was now becoming even more pleasurable than she could ever imagine, to the point where she would autograph spare bits of parchment in her spare time or even during classes when she had run out of motivation. It was conceited, yet Violet was delighted as the opportunities she was coming across...even if they were making everything so complicated. At least she was delighted. Now Vi felt as though she was cracking under the pressure of everything. "Though it's really none of your business...in fact, I think I'd like to talk to my sister a bit," said Violet. "Have you seen here anywhere?" |

James shook his head, glancing down the corridor and half expecting Kayden to be following him. "I haven't seen her, but if you intend to go look for her...I should probably go." Something in James' voice plainly said that the two were not on the best terms anymore. "But, uhm...Violet, right? Yeah. If you ever, you know, need someone to talk to..." It was getting worse by the minute. James was digging himself in a hole. "...I'm a good listener. Uhm...yeah." He grinned awkwardly at her, and left the corridor. |

"Uhm, thanks!" called Violet at James' retreating back, watching him disappear into another room and then returning to her previous, stressed state. Where was her sister, or even Adelle? Violet needed someone that she could trust to tell this secret. She was tired of holding it inside any longer. Ideally, she'd be able to talk to Xander, but they hardly did any of that. With a sigh, Violet decided to leave and head to Gryffindor Tower to begin writing another issue of the Sparks Report. And this time...no unreliable sources. Maybe. |
