Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Belladonna's red lips formed a pout, at being admonished by the Minister.

"She hasn't got my respect." she muttered under her breath, so that no one would hear her.

As Jacob appeared reeking of tobacco as usual, Belladonna wrinkled her nose, turning so that he wouldn't see her do so.

She pulled out a little red spritz bottle and sprayed something tantalizing on her left side, right side, above her head, then down by the hem of her knee-length pencil skirt. She breathed in and released a breath, and turned back around, with a grin plastered on her face.

"Evening, Mr. Surla." she said sweetly. "How goes the manhunt for the degenerate who blew my office to smithereens?"

As usual, Belladonna cared for herself above all others.

OOC: Talking about the deranged degenerate, when is the ministry thread going to move somewhere?

BIC: "Regardless of who respects who Belladonna, we must show some courtesy. It will not do our image any good" Hugh said quickly to Belladonna while Jacob tugged away at his ciggarette.

"I keep telling you those are killing you Jacob, but you never listen" Hugh said, "Yes, is there any news about that?" Hugh said, anxious to hear that the Auror departement had caught the criminal and everything was back to normal so that Hugh could have his smiling face in all the news papers.

"Aghhh, Belladonna, I've been meaning to ask" Hugh said, pulling the senior aide, aside and away from Jacob. "How are things at home? are you alright to be by yourself? Would you like some ministry protection" Hugh said, the idea of him moving to Belladonna's was riddiculous. He was asking as a concerned boss, nothing more. Or so he though.

Belladonna looked at Hugh with disbelief.

"Excuse me?" she asked, both eyebrows raised.

"I am doing just fine alone at my estate, I'll thank you." she said, bristling like a hissing cat.

The audacity of men. They think they solve any problem.

"I'll have you know I'm not as weak as my physical state depicts. I have no need for Ministry protection--I've never needed a man, and anyone who wants to test my abilities with a wand can see me. Any. Time." she whispered dangerously.

"So to answer your question, Minister--it's a generous offer, and I am deeply touched that you'd think of me, but I'll decline at this time. I usually have a Ministry official side-along-apparate home with me every evening anyway, ever since the explosion of the Ministry."

The question was why that ministry official didn't arrive back to headquarters until many hours hence.

Hugh's smile broadend, he liked his woman feisty, and Belladonna had a lot of fight in her. It was almost as if she was berating him. Hugh knew his smile seemed out of place, he quickly switched it for a more serious and suitable face.

"I am just concerned for the security, I'm sure you can handle yourself in all situations. Well, in that case, I'm satisfied with your level of security and have no need to worry.

I'm simply pointing out that it would be a shame if this deranged lunatic attacked you, he is clearly capable of anything and I wouldn't like such a devoted member of the party hurt, even slightly" Hugh said, growling slightly.

"I would go inside, Minister, but what sort of host would I be? Surely I should be here to meet the ministry officials whom you've summoned?" She commented, eyes twinkling.

Bidelia frowned faintly as Jacob showed up, nodding to him briefly. "I left the responsibility of taking care of herself up to Miss Lupei, and she has been handling it fine these previous years. It seems the excitement of the ball made her forget her responsibility. I'll take greater watch over her, so it does not happen again. As you know, Jacob, I do not like to confine my students."

It troubled Bidelia, seeing how some of her students had grown up. Considering every Ministry official present, had been at Hogwarts while she was either a professor or the headmistress. She'd been around a very long time. Jacob Surla, had turned out fine, the minister and his aide however...

"Jacob, if you could step off to the side with me? I need to speak with you privately."

While Stanley tended to Constanta, Taylor hurried over towards where Banni was on the ground. She knelt down beside him, cringing at the sight of the wounds on his chest and arms. Obviously, there was no way he would be able to get to the Hospital Wing even if he was unharmed, so Taylor sent message via patronous to Professor Miller* and the school nurse, pausing briefly to watch her large silvery macaw soar off towards the castle.

"Are you alright? That was a stupid question, sorry...I'm not sure how the bites are going to affect you, being a centaur, but normally as werewolf wounds are so hard to heal anyway..." she bit her lip. "I can try and clean you up a bit but, really, you'll have to wait until Teralynne or Dinah get here with, as I don't think "episky" is going to do much..." Taylor said, smiling sadly at Banni.

"I will live, Taylor," said Banni slowly, his breathing laboriously measured, "Thank you." Banni looked up at Stanley as he helped the werewolf, whom Banni now knew was Miss Constanta Lupei, to her feet. Through her bestial features, Miss Lupei seemed both frightened and ashamed. The centaur focused on the costumed visage of the Minister.

"I think..." Banni began, still having trouble breathing and speaking for the wounds to his chest. He spoke softly, "Hugh Logan," Banni spoke without the use of a title, for centaurs did not use titles when they did not recognize the person as such, "that I shall remain for some time. As you can see I am in no shape to move, and even if I were, I would not leave until I know my student has been taken somewhere safe. Even then, I believe I must return to my herd, in the forest, for one of my kind was..." Banni closed his eyes, he did not want to speak it in front of Miss Lupei--she herself was not responsible for what she had done. "Killed," he said at last, "There are arrangements that will have to be made for his mate and son."

Normally, a male provides for his mate and young, going hunting for meat and protecting his family is the main purpose in a male centaur's life, but what are Orrin's mate and son to do without him? They would have to live off the charity of others in the herd, until such a time that the foal could go out and hunt, and be strong enough to protect his mother--it was a terrible thing to be a beggar in a centaur herd.

Also, within the back of his mind, Banni feared that Orrin's wife and child, or even other members of the herd, may want to seek retribution. A blood price to be paid. Such was the way of Banni's kind in such cases as murder. Banni needed to get to the herd as quickly as possible, in order to deter them from seeking vengeance--for their sake as well as Miss Lupei's. He would talk with Professor Belleford as soon as he could be out of earshot of the Ministry, to take her up on her offer to speak with the herd, for he feared we would need her aid, much as he did not want her to discover the other sources of turmoil within his herd, though perhaps that was inevitable.

"In any case," Banni continued. He could not help the indignant tone in his voice, "You have no jurisdiction over me, I'm afraid, Hugh Logan."

Constanta's eyes widened when Banni said the word killed, and got wider still when he mentioned that the centaur had a wife and son. She had killed a centaur. Who had a family. She had broken up a family, widowed a woman and left the boy without a father. Oh, god, she was horrible. She was an awful, awful person.

It shouldn't have been that hard to keep her mind during the transformation. She was just too weak to control herself. She had failed tonight, failed absolutely, and now others were paying the price for her stupidity. She should have been counting the days until the next full moon, but no, she had been too caught up in Slytherin gossip and her friends to know what was coming.

It was all her fault.

Jacob ran his hand along the fuzz upon his face before throwing his cigarette to the ground and glancing at the Headmistress as she beckoned for him. His loyalty was neither to Hugh nor the Headmistress and more than often, he chose to do whatever he wanted to do. At this point in time, the minister wasn't the most pleasing person in the parimeter, so, he decided to speak to the headmistress regardless of what his other officials said or did.

Stepping up to the headmistress and flipping his hair out of his eyes, he looked her directly in the pupil. "Yes?"

Professor Miller followed the Patronus onto the Grounds and saw the scene before her eyes. She was taken aback by the student and the ministry officials and then she saw Bani. She ran over to him, magical creatures being her specialty. "Bani? Are you alright?" Blood hit her nose and she took a sharp breath in. It was different when the injured was a co-worker of yours.

"I'm sorry it took me so to get here. I was checking on the student in the Hospital Wing when the macaw lured me out here. Though I cannot give you a healing time, you at least won't become a werewolf, that much I am certain. The wounds will hurt and will take time to heal, but that is true of many things." The latter part was more to herself, memories surfacing against her will.

"We can bandage and clean you, unless you'd rather have the school nurse tend to you." She felt confident doing it herself, though not certain how Bani would react to such a young professor tending to his wounds. "There will be some contamination, due to the-" she almost said werewolf before realizing Ms. Lupei was still here. "Nature of the injuries. I cannot say I've seen this happen before, though."

A blinding blue light appeared, shattering the night, when it faded, Anton de Ponte du Lac, and his son Alphonse, stood but fifteen feet away from the others on the grounds. Anton pocketed the tin can he'd used as a portkey and strode over to them with Alphonse behind him. Both of them wore long black cloaks with the jade and silver Dragon de Toussaint de Ponte du Lac embroidered on them, and large Coalition buttons pinned to their fronts. Normally, not one to play the political game himself, Anton would not have complied to such a request by the Minister, but as it was, the attack on the Ministry had killed many, and many more had resigned--for their health, of course--leaving many seats in the wizengamot open, pending an election to be held in a few weeks' time. And so, the circumstances saw it that Anton was now running for the empty seat in his district, facing rather meager opposition from various smaller parties, but being that as it was, he knew he needed support from his son's party to get elected.

Anton wanted only to put himself in a better position to aid in the recovery of the Ministry, but he knew that Hugh would like nothing better than to have more members of his party in the Wizengamot. As party leader, it benefited Hugh to tip the scale in his favor.

"We received your message, Minister," he said, looking around. His eyes rested upon the hulking form of a relatively small werewolf. However, he did not react. He'd already been briefed via a patronus message, and he and Alphonse had purged themselves of their shock and outrage before they'd left. "What are your orders?" he asked, not of Jacob, but of the Minister himself--an unintentional sign of his lack of respect for his superior.

Stanley glared at all of the Ministry Officials. They had always been the ones to asunder the staff and students, tear them apart, at least that it was in his opinion. He turned to Terralynne and looked her in the eye. "What is the condition of Mr. Surla?" he asked her softly. After asking, he looked at Constanta, who, standing, stood a bit shorter than he. He still held her by the shoulder, and he had a tight grip on her shoulder so that she could not go out and attack one of the Ministry Officials should she go rabid. He fiddled with his wand in his pocket, ready to countercurse should anything happen. He was sure nothing would, but he needed to take precautions. He then walked turned to Bannishtar. "Are the injuries serious?" he asked.

"Mr. Surla is doing well, last I checked. Dinah gave him Wolfsbane, though once an attack has been made.." she let her voice trail off, feeling bad for the boy. "The injuries are not fatal, but should be taken care of. He will heal, though slower than normal because of the venom."

"I believe you are perfectly capable of aiding me, Terralynne," Banni was generally very good with names, so though he was not really on even familiar terms with this new Professor, he could act like it. That, and she certainly seemed to know what she was talking about, "I don't think I can wait for the nurse. Besides, you are much more learned concerning my kind's anatomy."

Banni wished that Matthew was still here, as he trusted his old friend more, but personal problems had summoned him away. Still, he trusted Terralynne as knowledgeable in her field.

The news that there could be some side-effects to his injuries disheartened, but not surprised him. In fact, the knowledge was last on his list of concerns at the moment. There would be plenty of time to worry for his own future after the future of Orrin's family, and of Miss Lupei were taken care of.

Clenching his teeth and screwing his eyes shut against the searing pain in his flesh, Banni raised his arms to give Terralynne access to his bleeding wounds.

A a flash of blue light, visible even through his closed eyelids, caused Banni to open his eyes. His expression turned into that of a snarl as he saw Alphonse de Ponte du Lac--the one whom he knew had caused much of the trouble last year--as well as another, older, man who looked a lot like the younger. Here was the man responsible for Ronin's actions, and for his death as far as the centaur was concerned. Here was the cause for the current disarray within his herd. If only he could prove it...if only those at the ministry would even care.

Banni's breathing became labored with suppressed rage, causing his damaged muscles to object painfully, and Banni doubled over, clutching his sides, crying out in pain for the first time that night, after much time spent suppressing it.

"Jacob, you won't be happy, I'll warn you of that. The student who was bitten... It was Hellius. I have faith that he will recover, and move past this, though that does not change the fact he was bitten." She paused, casting a brief glance to the minister, before continuing.

"I do not wish to leave the grounds, as there are several members of the ministry I do not trust. Jacob, if you like though, I will accompany you to Hospital Wing; or if you prefer, you may go on your own."

Jacob, I trust you, don't let me down. She thought, her thoughts clear in her expression.

"Also," said Alphonse, "The entire Dangerous Beasts section of my department quit after the...incident...so I'm the only one. No one else is coming, Sir," he informed the Minister as if it was nothing at all.

Alphonse glanced back at Bannishtar as the horse began huffing like the animal he was in a fashion Alphonse supposed was meant to be intimidating. The young Ministry wizard eyed him as if he were merely insignificant, though in his mind the very vague memories of what he'd experienced in the centaur's mind still haunted him. He wanted to find out--no, not here. Not with so many watching.

Besides, he'd already committed one murder in his quest to understand what continuously eluded his grasp. He would probably commit more.

Jacob pressed his left hand over his mouth and dragged down his chin, making numerous dissatisfied faces before settling on a blank one again. Trying to completely gather the information of which he was just told, he tried to decide whether or not to be happy, or sad, or whether or not to throw a fit. His younger cousin was bit by a werewolf... yet he really didn't feel any definite emotion about it.

"Georgia isn't going to be pleased by this..." he referred to his grandmother. Closing his eyes for a brief second, he released a relaxing breath to compose himself. "Alright... no problem. Considering him, he won't want to see me, and in his current state, I don't think that making him angry would be the best idea. What's going to be his prohibition?"

She frowned faintly, shaking her head and glancing up at the castle absently. "With Hellius it's difficult to say. He'll have to take the wolf's bane of course, and avoid others during the full moon... Though I won't pretend to know exactly how it will effect him. After all, he is somewhat...different, as you know."

The old woman frowned, gazing at Jacob silently for a moment. "You should go back to them. The longer you stay talking to me, the less they'll trust you, and I need someone I can trust from the ministry."

Jacob glanced back at the other officials subtly before turning back to the headmistress fully. There was an urge that he wanted to do, but it was risky.

"I'll be talking to them about something. I honestly think that you need a member of the ministry on the grounds at all times. Excuse me," Jacob said, turning away from the woman to head back to the other members.
