Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Banni awaited the students patiently in his classroom. Today was a day that the humans called "All Hallow's Eve" and was supposed to be an important day for the honoring of the dead, and yet, in his nine years living amongst humans, the centaur had yet to see much about the holiday that seemed to have anything to do with honoring one's deceased grandmother. Instead it seemed like an excuse for their women to run around in revealing clothing and for their men to frighten the magic out of children. Humans still puzzled the centaur sometimes.

However, for Banni's classroom it was business as usual, and so he would not tolerate any foolishness this or any day. As he waited in the dark calm of the indoor forest, he prepared mentally for what he was going to have to struggle hard to hammer into the heads of his human pupils.

((OOC: In the interest of not having to repeat lessons, please pretend as though the last lesson--with Gryffindor and Ravenclaw--has already been covered with Hufflepuff and Slytherin. You can find that lesson here: http://z8.invisionfree.com/Hogwarts_RP_Boa...?showtopic=1771. Incidentally, all Gryffindors and Ravenclaws should do well to check into this lesson, treat it as though they've also been over it in their class, and note the information within for reference on the exams.))

Fera Collis
Fifth Year

Fera entered the classroom, not sure where she was supposed to go. "Hi Banni." She winced at the petty sounds, more croaks than works. She took up her schedule to double-check, Damn it, wrong class. Fera didn't want any Defense against The Dark Arts. She'd prefer Divination.

So Fera raised her voice and asked, as clearly as she could. "Wrong classroom. But... Can I please stay, I don't think I can handle anything with..." Her voice dissapeared. A begging eye rested on Bannishtar.

When Ella walked into the Divination Classroom, noone was more suprised that she to see that she was one of the first to arrive-only the maimed figure that she had come to recognize as Fera Collis was there, although she wasn't sure why, being a Gryffindor. Normally, Ella was one of the last to slip into her seat for class. Well, I guess odd things are supposed to happen on Halloween.... she mused to herself.

Halloween...Ella still hadn't decided whether or not she was going to the party yet. She supposed that she could put a costume together (you don't grow up with a robe-maker for a mother without aquiring a vast number of clothing, nor a certian skill with needle and thread)...and the fact that she didn't have a date didn't really matter all that much, she could always just hang out with her friends...

The Slytherin sighed and opened her book. Really, she didn't know why she was trying to talk herself out of going. It would probally be fun...in anycase, being Hogwarts, the food was sure to be wonderful...

Banni was surprised to see that the first person to enter his classroom was Fera Collis, who, upon checking her schedule, was disappointed to find she had entered the wrong class. She was still heavily bandaged. Banni remembered having been in a fury when he'd found out that not only had several third years gone out into the grounds to fight last year, not only had many been injured, but that the worst of the injuries had been dealt to one of his favorite students: Fera Collis. He hated what had been done to her. So much of her life, or what he knew of it, had gone wrong. She was an orphan, an outcast, much like himself. Of all the students in the school, Banni felt her to be they one who was most like a centaur: bravery, intelligence, a sense of morality--all of which masked by the usual hot-headedness and willingness to jump into battle. Banni found himself not surprised, angry, but not surprised, that Fera had been out there in the chaos.

Banni's stern expression sank like a rock in water when she croaked her garbled greeting--this should never have happened.

The centaur was about to ask her where she was supposed to be when she pleaded with him, raising her voice and asking, as clearly as she could:

"Wrong classroom. But... Can I please stay, I don't think I can handle anything with..." Her voice dissapeared. A begging eye rested on Bannishtar. Banni's heart sank.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw Eleonore Collins--another of his favorite students (even though her marks weren't great, he still liked her). Banni nodded to her as she entered and sat down. He turned back to Fera.

"Very well," he said, "But I'm afraid I'll have to take twenty points from Gryffindor, as I'm sure that's what Professor Stuart would have done if she'd found you to be absent without proper cause. You may sit at the edge of the clearing, but try not to draw attention to yourself."

Banni felt the pang of his words as he spoke them--he knew that such a thing would be difficult for the girl in her present state. He pointed the girl in the direction of where she may sit. Then he tried his best to get back to his normally strict composure within the classroom.

Honestly, he thought to himself, a bit disappointed, what's the use of all their magic if they can't even help this girl?

"Thank you." croak She sat down, far in the back. She knew she could not handle D.A.D.A, she wasn't sure how to do magic without her arm. I wish I could redo everything. That I could erase what I've become. The monster I am. It's too late. I could be the heroine, I became the villain. Fera had been thinking over it, she had been doubting on herself. She had more controll than before, but with all the anger bottled up inside her... Not even the strongest person in the world would manage to stand against it. Fera was certain that noone would want to be her.

She rested her head against a fake tree. She detested this room, she decided. Because it was a copy. Fera wanted to run on real grass, and climb real trees. When she died, Fera promised herself, she'd be buried in a forest.

Rosalind walked into the Divination classroom, and saw a Gryffinor girl -- that was odd -- and Ella. With a smile, she walked over to the Slytherin that she had sort of gotten to know over the summer.

"Hi," she greeted. "Any chance I can sit here?"

Houses weren't a real big real for Rosalind -- she actually didn't agree as to having them at all. They segregated people from one another and it caused a lot of unneeded tension and drama.

"Are you any good at this class? I'm not. My attention span is crap," she lamented to Ella. At least today was about Halloween. Perhaps she'd be interested enough to pay attention...not that she didn't try anyway.

Ella snorted. "Nah, I've got the same problem...complete spacecase. Not to mention the fact that the whole subject seems kind of useless unless you're born a seeker..." she said, smiling at Rosalind.

"So...how have you been? I havn't really spoken to you since last summer...been doing anything interesting?"

With a smile, Rosalind took a seat next to Ella. They hadn't really seen or talked to each other since the summer, but now was as good a time as any, right? The two girls had seemed to get along well on the occasions where they were presented with each other. In fact, she really liked Ella. It was also nice to know that she wasn't the only spacecase around Hogwarts!

"I've been just swell, I guess," Rosalind said with a shrug. "Nothing particularly exciting, how about you?"

It'd been pretty ordinary as of late. But then again, her life was always pretty ordinary (if you count out the whole witch thing, of course) most of the time. One of the downsides of being a boring person. Rosalind wished she was more exciting, but she was pretty much hopeless on that front. She wasn't outspoken, definitely
not adventurous, and wasn't one for drama. Where did that leave her in the scheme of things? Nowhere interesting, that was for sure.

"Are you excited for that whole Halloween thing tonight?" she asked curiously.

Constanta found her way to Divination from the dungeons, still mulling over the previous events in her mind. Lola didn't seem to mind Constanta's defending her against Ian's rants, though their arguing seemed almost like the teasing of friends, if it hadn't been for the nasty words accompanying each of them. She wondered if she would have a chance to speak with Lola again, but pushed it to the back of her mind as she settled in for class.

"OH, I don't know, not much...studying, getting ready for Quidditch, trying not to get hexed or resist hexing someone else everytime I set foot in the common room..." She said, laughing. "Can't complain, I guess."

"Are you excited for that whole Halloween thing tonight?"

The Slytherin shrugged. "Oh, I guess so...I mean, it sounds like fun and all, but since I'm willing to bet that most everyone there will have a date, I'll end up getting bored and leaving early...see, again with the whole short attention-span thing" Ella said, glancing at Rosalind with a small smile playing on her lips.

"What about you? Looking forward to it?"

Ian entered the classroom and sat down against a tree without paying anyone any mind. Somehow his encounter with Lola had put him in slightly ill frame of mind, and his mood only soured on the way to Divination. Perhaps it was the fact that he had to keep it a secret, or it was just that Constanta had nearly caught them in the act, and he'd somehow managed to piss off both girls at once.

Ian simply sat there with a face that dared anyone to try and mess with him as his vision slowly adjusted to the relative darkness of the room. When it had, he'd seen something that did nothing to help his mood:

Fera Collis.

Ian felt a drop in the pit of his stomach, and it had nothing to do with the fact that his encounter with Lola had caused him to miss breakfast. There she was, the victim of his own fear, there, wrapped in bandages still. Ian looked down, as if the grassy floor had somehow become very interesting. He suddenly hated himself again. The words of Aunt Julia ran in his head, words of the promise of redemption, but Ian didn't have any idea how.

How do you fix something like that? he thought with a sickening feeling of shame.

"Are you excited for that whole Halloween thing tonight?" Fera didn't mean to overhear. She didn't want to. The night of the dead. The night of my parents, Brother Billings, Father Lupin and all the monks. The night of the wolves, with flies around their corpses. The night of all I cared for. Tears fell under Fera's bandages. Each and every single tear was to honour them.

She looked around, and noticed de Ponte du Lac looking at her, before he stared down in the grass. Of course, go ahead and stare. At the monster. Go back to the common room later, laugh about it. You know you want to, hm? She looked another way, from the disgusting slytherin. All Hallows eve. Eve... Eve... The word summed around in her head. It's even a full moon tonight. Perhaps... The full moon has a million bi-effects, strengthening magic, bringing out the beasts inside us, some more affected than others. And on all Hallows eve, night of the dead? Maybe... Maybe it is possible to summon them, for a while. To say goodbye. They wouldn't mind a small awakening, I think... It would help. It was farfetched, Fera knew that. But, it was worth a try. Disturbing the dead just once, so she would be better.

It was worth a try.

Tucker walked into the Divination classroom and joined the clump of students already present. There weren't many, and Tucker rather wished that the were in the group who had declined to attend. Who cares about the future? Why spend hours trying to scry for it if you can just wait and see with so much less effort? He layed down, looking up at the leaves overhead. It was always a little creepy in this room. It felt like it was outdoors...but it's totally a lie.

Can't complain...what an excellent way to answer such a question. She'd probably heard someone say it before, but Rosalind was just randomly struck with the brilliance of such a statement. That is, unless, one actually did have something to complain about. But in the case that they didn't...she had to start saying that more often; it was a very accurate depiction of her life.

"Even when you have a date, I think it might get boring," she said in response to Ella's comments. Like seriously, there was only so long that someone could put up with dancing or whatever. Sometimes you just needed some air, or something fresh to do.

"What about you? Looking forward to it?"

"Yeah, I am," Rosalind smiled. "I'm always up for a good time."

Jenny entered the classroom unenthusiastically. She was horrible at Divination - well...what wasn't she horrible at? She didn't look much at the people she was passing on her way into the classroom as she sat beneath a tree and pressed her back against the thick trunk. She wasn't too excited about being in a class with the Slytherin's, either. She had heard about Tinsley's attack, and who knew if her little puppets were going to lose their minds without their Queen Bee?

Jenny sat up. She felt so jumpy that she couldn't sit still for one moment - she began to pace, frowning, and her eyes landed on a boy's. His robes were that of Hufflepuff...hmm, a boy...the thought would make Justin cringe. Jenny was his older sister, but he still treated her as the baby...when he wasn't belittling her. Jenny made her way over to Tucker Conti, which she found easy, because her restless mind would not let her stop moving.

"Have we met? You look familiar," said Jenny thoughtfully, approaching him with a shy smile. "My name's Jenny."

Tucker suddenly found his vision of the trees blocked by the face of a blond girl he knew vaguely. She introduced herself, and he smiled wanly, his head resting on his hands with his arms bent out to the sides. He shrugged as much as was possible from his current position. "I'm a puff, you're a puff, I've seen you around. I'm Tucker." He had an interesting view from the ground. This girl was very, very skinny - something Tucker didn't adore, but didn't hate either. As long as she's got boobs and something in back... He made these observations in his head, revealing nothing on his face but mild good will.

Jenny raised her perfect eyebrow, smirking, and put her hands on her hips. Something about her usual ditsy demeanor had changed, and as of late, she'd been slightly more self satisfied than usual. Perhaps it was because she didn't want to be like June, or Justin? Regardless, Jenny smiled at Tucker, her eyebrow still raised. She joined him on the ground, resting her head on her shoulder. "Tucker, hmm?" She crossed her legs. Something about sitting was making her feel even more restless than before. She began to pat the ground with her hands nervously, her thin wrists barely making any movement, but it was enough to calm Jenny. "Yes, I guess it sounds familiar. Excited for tonight?"

Tucker sat up as Jenny sat down. He brought his knees to his chest and leaned back on his arms. Jenny asked about the party, and Tucker shrugged. "Sure," he responded. He noticed the girl was twitching - her hands beat the ground just noticeably. Am I making her nervous? he smirked to himself. This could be fun.

"All I need is a costume, I guess." His mind, however, was not on his own costume. He was imagining this girl in costume...and not the grade-school kind. It was satisfying. Most enjoyable divination class yet.

"I need a costume too," sighed Jenny for a moment, biting her lip. "All of my sisters and brothers are going as members from this Muggle story, Alice in Wonderland. But I was thinking something..." She hadn't actually given it much thought, but as Tucker looked at her with interest, she felt the need to say something - anything. "A little different."

She couldn't help but draw a blank when it came to the costumes. She might as well go dressed up with her siblings, but she couldn't stand the thought of being second best to Jamie or June...even though June would probably too busy beating herself up.

Jenny's eyes narrowed and she focused her mind on Tucker - suddenly like an explosion, her head was filled with a boy's voice, narrating his own thoughts...She winced. He was imagining this girl in costume... The sensation quickly stopped - Jenny could never hold her concentration long enough to use her telepathy powers for any real good, which is why she rarely used them. She couldn't even quite understand how to work her powers, another reason she was jealous of June - everything seemed to come so...easy for her. Ugh. Regardless, she couldn't help but want to know what Tucker was really thinking, even if it was just a small glimpse that basically led her to no conclusions other than he was a normal boy.

"Hmm..maybe a naughty school girl." Jenny said, shrugging, her vapid eyes gazing at him curiously. "Any suggestions?"

Alice in wonderland... Tucker's mind flipped through Jenny as Alice, as the Mad Hatter, as the White Rabbit...well, that's just cliched...not that i have a problem with that... he had just gotten to her and one of her sisters as Tweedledee and Tweedledum when she spoke up again. Naughty schoolgirl? "That has potential," he said, nodding approvingly. "In my experience, most girls can make just about anything..." How to put this? "...work for them."

And so can most guys, if they don't go too over the top or blase. What I'm going to do...I still don't know.
