| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. "Hi, Professor. I've been...good" she replied, almost automatically before he moved onto scold the very students she had noticed arguing before. She turned back to her pillow, her eyebrows furrowed slightly, as if trying to figure something out. After a few moments, she pointed her wand at it and gave a sharp flick with her wrist. "Depulso!" The pillow instantly shot backwards and hit the wall over the basket, causing it to land on the floor a foot or so from the target. She let her wand fall to her side, cocking her head slightly to the side. better than nothing, I guess.... |

"We should see, I mean, how me and you work. Give it a shot. What bad could it do?" Summer gulped as John uttered those words. What bad could it do? It could do a lot of bad... Summer thought nervously. Summer wanted more than anything to be able to agree with him at that moment and say yes. Yes, yes, yes and nothing else. But Summer couldn't. She didn't care much about her friendship with Aubrey, in fact the two never really were that close. But still, Aubrey was a person and a person with feelings. She would no doubt be hurt if she found out about the two of them. "John...you know it would be wrong to do something like that. What about Aubrey? She would be hurt, no doubt about it." Summer said sadly before turning to John and looking at him. His eyes were an olive green color, much like her own, and they were telling her to say yes. Do it. Say yes. Don't neglect your feelings. What Aubrey doesn't know won't hurt her. Summer's own thoughts were her encouragement. She gulped and bit her lip before uttering out, "But...I guess we could give it a go." Summer looked away and turned back to her pillow. "Depulso pillow!" she murmured and, to her excitement, the pillow floated into one of the wick baskets. She smiled and knew that her old talent in charms had come back. |

Mac watched Eleonore try and banish her pillow. "Nice try, this time just relax a little" Mac said, chucking Ella her pillow back to her. "Miss Lupei, very good for a first effort. Try concentrating harder. You might find the results better if your mind is fully focused on the job at hand" Mac said, throwing Constanta her pillow back towards her. "Has anyone got an answer for the last question?" Mac said, looking around the class. |

Constanta nodded at the professor's suggestion and focused on the pillow again. She willed it to fly a few feet above the ground this time, to glide smoothly to the other side of the room at her command. She said the incantation again, this time with more force, and the pillow flew to the other end of the room, hitting the wall with a soft thump. She smiled triumphantly. |

"Better Miss Lupei, you are getting there. Have another shot. I'm sure you'll get it soon. Very good" Mac said. He looked around the room. Very satisfied with the results. However, still no one had answered of even attempted an answer at the third question. "Okay guys, I'll tell you what. Obviously this third question is proving to be a difficult one. So how about I up the stakes. Each option is worth five house points, each. You can say one, two or three. You can list as many as you feel comfortable. For everyone you get. 5 house points" Mac said, hoping the upped stakes would make the students more enthused to have a shot at the question on the board. |

Precious mocked the professor behind his back. She wanted to get Summer and John after class...but, she'll let them live. She then grabbed her wand, and stood up, looking at the side of the room with the pillows. She focused on nearest pillow, concentrating her willpower on it. "Depulso pillow!" She said, and waved her wand, and the pillow slid off of the pile and barely moved. Precious cleared her throat, and focused on it again. She willed it to fly a few feet above the ground this time, to glide to probably hit Summer on the head at her command. But, she decided Summer wasn't worth her time. So she decided to command it to fly to the front of the room. Once again, she said the incantation again, this time with more force in her voice, and the pillow flew to the front of the room, hitting the wall with a soft thump. She smiled, satisfied with her work, and sat back down again, placing her wand back in her pocket. |

Ray had entered the class with her year and was also excited for the lesson. She pulled out her wand eagerly and practised the flicking motion. Ray watched as her commrads began moving pillows all over the place. Happy that John had won her house some points; she felt pretty confident to start working with a pillow. Ray stood up and flicked her wand, "Depulso!" she said with force, but her quil ended up shooting across the room - sticking straight out like a dart on the wall. Discouraged, Ray sat down and tried to think of what went wrong. Thinking about the question on the board, Ray got creative and raised her hand, "Well.. it could be usefull to move toxic or dangerous things instead of carrying them?" She suggested. |

Aubrey slipped into the room, a little late, but still here nonetheless. Summer and John were close and the only other people in the room were people Aubrey never talked to. She found an empty seat, grabbed a pillow, focusing on what she needed to do. Charms was easy for her. "Depulso!" She focused on the pillow flying away, landing safely in a wicker basket behind her. She didn't look to see where it landed, but instead grabbed another pillow and put her head down. |

John saw Aubrey in the enter the charms class. He would speak to her after suggesting that they have a break from seeing each other for a bit. John took a stack of heavy books and sat next to Summer, he waved at Aubrey but was mindful not to get caught by the professor. He didn't want anymore detentions. The Professor seemed to prawl across the class. John enjoyed watching him for a bit before he tried to concentrate on the books infront of him. "You can do this" John said outloud to himself. |

"You certainly could, 5 points to Miss Garner, you could also use the hover charm, locomotor" Mac said, awarding another 5 points to Gryffindor. "Miss Hindert, you have not completed your task. I see no reason to put your wand away" Mac said throwing the pillow back to the closed off Slytherin girl. "You can do this!" Mac said urging his class on. "Still another ten house points up for grabs for answers to the third questions. I haven't heard any responses from Slytherin's yet. Miss Collins, I'm sure you can give me something here" Mac said, looking over at Ella. |

Fera entered the room, her breath heavy, twisted and exhausted. Resting her head towards the wall, her knees started giving signs that they would give after. (All this was due to the fact that Fera had lost her bottle of ink on the top stairs, and had to 'run' after them down the stairs. Then walk all the way up again.) Stumbling over to a desk, she half fell, half sat down on the stool. Resting her head against the pillow infront of her, Fera gave a big groan. She was so tired, so imersely tired. A tiny voice inside her urged her to leave at least try the spell written on the board, but Fera knew she couldn't do it, especcially when she had to use her left hand. She gritted her teeth underneath the bandages, and groaned again of exhaustment. |

Summer heard the door open twice more as two other Gryffindors entered the classroom. One of them was Fera, the girl Summer had met in COMC, the other one was Aubrey herself. Summer smiled at Aubrey, but didn't do anything else. Instead she followed John to receive a stack of heavy books. Summer looked up at the board at the third question. Dangerous or toxic things? Nice answer... Summer thought wryly, but couldn't think of anything else. Her brain was as good as dead ((OOC: as is mine right now, sorry BIC:)) so she decided to concentrate on the stack of books in front of her. Her green eyes closed shut, Summer pointed her wand at one of the books and muttered, "Depulso book." Summer opened her eyes a peek and, to her disappointment, the books were still sitting on her desk. It's OK, just try again, Summer thought to herself. She focused more on the books and drowned out all the chatter going on around her. "Depulso book," Summer murmured and when she opened her eyes she instantly ducked as the book was, instead of gliding forwards and towards one of the wicker baskets, was flying backwards and straight at her. Summer sighed as the book hit the wall behind her. Muttering to herself, she grumpily walked towards the back wall to retrieve it. |

John watched Summer try and Banish the books. He grinned at her inability to do it. "Depulso" John said, trying to concentrate really hard. He opened his eyes but the books hadn't moved. He blinked, still they were there. He rubbed his eyes but nothing changed. John decided to try again. Focusing as much as he could he completely put everything out of his mind. He went through it step by step and saw how it went. "Depulso" John thought. He didn't want to open his eyes but then came the sound of something loud hitting the wall. John's books crashed onto the ground with a large bang that shoot the classroom. "Sorry" John said, mainly to the professor in a wry grin. |

Ella had been working on perfecting the Charm (so far the pillow had either flown away from her much too fast, or had not moved at all) when she suddenly heard the Professor say her name. "Hmm? Oh...well, I guess if you were good enough at it, you could use it in duels...you know, and it would just throw the person you're dueling across the room..." she said, saying the first thing that came to her head. |

((OOC: I have no desire for Ian to be late again, so he was here the entire time, okay?)) Ian took to Charms more readily than Transfiguration. He sat closer to the front than he would have normally today (though he hated the charms professor, whom he was glad to have not seen since his second year, he did enjoy charms class). Ian saw Precious get into an argument with John and decided that if that tosspot John decided to get violent, than he would step in for a fellow Slytherin. However, the Professor had broken them up, and so there was no need for Ian to get involved. 'Course, if it was Ian who'd been involved in even a verbal altercation, he'd have lost house points. This was one of the reasons he hated Professor McDonald: he played favorites--there was no doubt about that. "Depulso!" Ian's pillow flew straight into the basket, as steadily through the air as if an invisible hand had moved it there. Lying around the basket were the pillows of other students' failed attempts This is easy, he thought after his third time doing it. The long-haired Slytherin boy raised his wand at the basket, intending to summon his pillow back to him when the sight of a large rectangular object hurdling towards his head caused him to have to duck. The book hit the wall with a THUD, and then dropped to the floor. Ian looked back at it, momentarily stunned, then just plain annoyed. He looked forward again as Summer Neilson begrudgingly went over to retrieve her leather-bound projectile. However, Ian didn't feel the need to call her out, much less retaliate. Neilson's blunder had given him an idea. Ian raised his hand. "Professor," said Ian, "As a use of the banishing charm: Couldn't it be used as a weapon in duels to send objects flying at your opponent?" |

Aubrey ignored John and Summer, trading her pillow into the pile. She was angry. She looked at the books and absentmindedly muttered depulso under her breath, imagining the books to fly not at the wicker baskets but close to John and Summer. She giggled at the image in her head, opening her eyes to focus again on the task at hand. She was amazed to find her books missing, soon to hear a loud banging noice behind her. ((OOC: Bit of fun, yeah? :P)) |

"Yes, very good Miss Collins and Mr De Ponte Du Lac. You have earned Slytherin 5 points Each. Certainly, this spell can be used in a duel, to handle toxic materials and you could use it to send objects flying at an opponent. Another few ways is to clear a patch. You may banish rocks across a distance as banishing objects is a lot more simple then blowing them up. Very good" Mac said he watched his students try. "Very good, now just concentrate hard on banishing your objects. Focus on the object. Focus on the destination and focus on the process, then say the incantation" Mac said. |

Concentration, that's all it takes. You just have to focus, Summer thought after retrieving her book and begrudgingly walking over to her desk. She closed her eyes shut once again, tightened the grip on her wand, focused on the object and the destination, then took a deep breath and muttered, "Depulso." To Summer's immense frustration, the book shot across the room about a meter from the wicker baskets. Summer cursed under her breath before, once again, reluctantly walking towards the other side of the classroom to retrieve her book. Summer sat down at her desk and slammed the book on top of the wooden surface. She shut her eyes once again, but quickly opened them when she heard a loud bang! In front of her lay an extra book that appeared to have been banished towards her. It didn't take Summer long to figure out that the book must have been banished by Aubrey. Summer bit her lower lip in anticipation. She hesitated for a moment before making up her mind and walking over to Aubrey. Summer held out the book and said, "Er...I think this is yours." |
