| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. OOC: I've posted this here early for two reasons: 1.) Banni will be late arriving, and 2.) In the event that I cannot be here, students can still post coming in and wait for me, or another Professor can take my place. The room on the ground floor, classroom eleven, was all dark and quiet--save for the sound of crickets. The stone floor was covered in foliage, tree roots snaked in and out of cracks in the stone, and the trees themselves stretched to the heavens--or at least the ceiling looked as if it were speckled with millions of lights that twinkled, large round bodies moved slowly along predetermined paths--an enchanted ceiling much like the one in the Great Hall. The room, part indoor atrium, part planetarium, was the classroom the school's resident centaur, Bannishtar. But he is not here now, as the students begin to file in. The centaur is perhaps one of the hardest-working staff members in the school, as he tries hard to both teach students, and keep the grounds safe and beautiful--which entails that he make sure certain creatures never again threaten the safety of the school. Right now, he working with members of his former herd, but something has come up, and that has made him quite late. |

Emma walked towards class, still contemplating her hair color. Perhaps she needed Lola's opinion - suddenly, however, as she entered classroom eleven she realized that it was empty – there was no Bannishtar, just the sound of crickets echoing through the empty classroom. Sitting beside a heavy tree, using the enormous trunk to lean her back on, she enjoyed the peace and quiet. Glancing up at the ceiling, where millions of sparkling glints were glowing, Em allowed her eyes to move across the ceiling, her attention slowly fading as she sat alone. Where is Bannishtar? |

The bottom of Millie's shoes made soft clicking sounds as she walked across the cold stone floor of the corridors and into the Divination classroom. Her stomach growled, she was aching for food. Unfortunately, she would have to wait through another long class until she could finally get a bite to eat, as lunch had been rather awkward, causing her to lose her appetite. But first things come first, where was Bannishtar? The only one in the classroom was a solemn-looking Emma Gray, and a few crickets. |

Summer entered the Divination classroom, thinking about how poorly her day was going so far. She hoped that Divination would be much better, as the beautifully arranged classroom always brought Summer happiness, but she knew that she was horrible at Divination, no matter how hard she tried. Summer was surprised to see that only two students were sitting in the classroom, along with several crickets. Summer smiled politely to Emma, a girl Summer didn't know very well, and nodded in the direction of a Slytherin girl called Millie. Summer found a tall tree near the center of the classroom and placed her book bag on the floor near it. It wasn't until she had sat down with her back against the tree when Summer noticed that Bannishtar wasn't in the classroom. Since she had nothing better to do, Summer pondered on the thought of where the centaur could possibly be while hoping more students would file into the classroom soon. |

Rosalind walked into Divination class. Surprisingly, it appeared that she was one of the first few in the room - that never happened! Looking around at the sparsely populated room, she spotted Summer, and smiled. "Hey!" Rosalind exclaimed, taking a seat next to her friend, who it felt like she hadn't seen in forever, even though it hadn't been. It was right about then that she realized the teacher was, well, absent. It made her a tad worried, but you know, Rosalind got worried about a lot of things all of the time, and tried to quietly assure herself that nothing was wrong, which was most likely the case. |

Tinsley marched onto the Divination classroom, coming straight from the Hospital Wing. Glancing around the room, her eyes met several other girls - and only one Slytherin, Millie. With a roll of her eyes, she caught eyes with Summer, suddenly feeling quite revolted at being stuck in a room with such an assortment of people - excluding, Mille, of course, who was rather pretty and, of course, Slytherin. Divination, thought Tinsley suddenly. This should prove to be interesting. I highly doubt any of this should really even be considered an actual subject - and taught by a half-breed, no less? But I'll hold my tongue. Certainly he demands respect, or else he'll stomp my face in with his hooves... Smirking, she glanced at the ceiling, observing the stars. Leaning against a tree trunk for support, she stood, examining her nails, straining her ears to listen to Rosalind and Summer. |

Emma felt a sudden punch in her stomach when Tinsley walked in - an ominous cloud hung in the air. Suddenly the air could be cut with a knife. Watching her with wide eyes filled with apprehension, Emma felt a sudden breeze unrelated to the weather and chills shook her spine. I don't want to sit here alone. She, however, wasn't really friends with any of the other girls...but why not? Summer seemed polite enough. Picking up her things, she took a seat beside Summer and Rosalind, who had also just arrived. "Hi, I'm Emma. I hope you don't mind if I just sit here," she giggled nervously, a sweet smile on her lips. |

Summer beamed as Rosalind took a seat besides her. She was happy to see a familiar face in the dark, forest-like classroom. "Hey Rosalind! Gosh, how have you been?" she inquired, even though it was only last night when Summer had last talked to Rosalind. It was just then that Summer noticed an unfriendly Slytherin walk into the classroom. Sure enough, it was Tinsley Carmichael, the one girl Summer didn't dare cross paths with. Even though Tinsley was standing quite a good distance away from them, Summer couldn't help but feel a little awkward being in her presence with only a few students and no teacher. "Oh, hi!" she exclaimed as the Ravenclaw girl sat down next to her and Rosalind. Summer had never talked to Emma before, but she knew that she was a pretty nice girl, unlike the Slytherin standing near them. "I"m Summer and this is my friend, Rosalind. Nice to meet you," she said, smiling, although her eyes darted quickly to Tinsley. Summer had a strange feeling about her. |

Kiki flounced in, dressed to the nines in yellow. Her long blonde hair, was held on opposite sides of her head and raised into two ponytails. Her yellow ribbon held back her sidebangs. Her yellow polo was, immaculate, and her school skirt was still the same size it had been in COMC. A cleaning spell gone awry had shrunken Kiki's skirt so that it stopped at her mid-thigh. All in all, she was having a day, even if her cleaning charms needed work. She flounced over to where Emma and Rozza and Summer were sitting and took a seat. "Bon jour, mes amis!" She chirped gaily. Hopefully Divination would have less...action...than COMC had. |

Summer smiled as a yellow ray of sunshine entered the room. Of course it was Kiki, the friendly Hufflepuff from France. "Hé Kiki! Comment allez-vous?" Summer questioned, hoping that her French was accurate. Summer didn't know much French and her accent was horrible, but her grandmother had taught her some French on Summer's visits to her house. Of course, that was before her father moved out and ever since then Summer rarely saw her paternal grandmother anymore. Again, Summer had a strange feeling as Tinsley examined her nails near them. |

Diana shuffled in, her Doc Martens clunking slightly as she walked. She spied Summer and went and sat in the desk behind hers. "Hey girls," Diana greeted, pulling out her parchment and inkwell. She pulled out her long quill and laid it on her desk, so she'd be ready when the lesson started. Diana wasn't much for Divination, but it did hold the tiniest bit of interest to her. |

Once again, Summer smiled as another familiar face walked into the classroom. Only two evil Slytherins in the room against five friendly Gryffindors/Ravenclaws/Hufflepuffs. So far, so good. "Hey Di. 'Sup?" Summer asked, stretching her arms out. Her stomach growled and suddenly she wished the teacher would hurry up and trot into the classroom. She wanted to get to dinner and fill her stomach with some delicious food cooked by the house elves in the kitchens. If those elves ran a restaurant, they would be rich, Summer thought to herself. But this was no time to be thinking of inequality. |

Kiki smiled brightly as Summer greeted her. "I am fine, thank you!" She chirped again. When Diana sat with them she greeted her as well. "Hey Dee!" she chirped once more. Summer and Diana were Kiki's favorite Gryffindors. "How are you guys doing?" she asked to the whole group. She giggled softly, They all looked like a red, yellow and blue rainbow. Although Emma was the only blue. |

"Oh, you know, same old, same old," she replied to her friend when a Ravenclaw girl who introduced herself as Emma sat down next to them. Smiling at the girl, she hoped she was making her feel welcome. Suddenly a rush of people walked into the classroom, Kiki and another Gryffindor girl that Summer seemed to know included, who sat down at their table. "Hello," Rosalind grinned, and then turned to Kiki. "Oh, you know, thinking up ways to pass Divination through pure bs." |

Xander walked in and took a seat in the back, feeling a bit annoyed about having to take the subject of Divination. The subject to him was more about trying to imagine things in a cloudy smoke and hope the teacher would approve of your prediction. All the things that had been predicted about him never happened and he doubt they would ever. He leaned back, noticing that there were mostly Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors in the room. He spotted Emma, but closed his eyes, hoping he wouldn't make eye contact. He hated the awkwardness between the two of them, and he knew she still probably hated him for dumping her. Xander wasn't worried about that. He was worried about Tinsley, who was shooting looks at her. He predicted a scuffle between them. Tinsley..she was gained a bit of his trust, but nothing more above the level of slight suspicison. He rested his head on his hands behind him and hummed quietly. |

Diana yawned slightly. "Hey, Sum. I'm a bit sleepy to tell you the truth, Kiki. I'm glad it's the last class of the day." She wished that the class would begin already. Pointless and Useless class that it was. Di remembered back in primary school, which she had to attend on account of her being a muggle, when they had maths. This was exactly like Maths in the muggle world. Pointless and Useless. |

Summer sighed as the door opened but, to her disappointment, it wasn't the school's resident centaur. "I wish Bannishtar would hurry up," Summer complained to the group. "I'm famished. Turns out a salad and some mashed potatoes aren't enough for me," she said with a shrug. Summer wanted nothing more than to go into the Great Hall, eat another amazing dinner, and then walk up to the Gryffindor Tower where her lovely four-poster bed awaited her. However, class hadn't even started, so Summer attempted to start a conversation to get her mind off of her stomach. "So, what are you guys looking forward to this school year?" she questioned. Summer knew it was lame, but it was the first thing that came into her mind. |

Kiki giggled behind her hand at Rozza's joke. "SO true, Rozza. I'm looking forward to EVERYTHING, Summer! I'm just glad I'm here and not at home." She tossed her hair, getting it off her chest. The paperboy had delivered the paper thrice when she was sunbating on the lawn during break. It was nice to get away from the staring. She HATED being stared at. She got out her yellow-stained parchment. She lifted it to her nose, sniffing it. It smelled like the scent she was wearing. |

"I'm just looking forward to everything, as well, I suppose," Rosalind answered Summer's question, and then turned and just laughed at the way Kiki simply sniffed her parchment. "You look positively ridiculous," she told her friend, her laughter having calmed down. Rosalind was getting hungry. She hadn't really eaten anything at all at lunch -- she hadn't been hungry at the time -- and now she felt extremely embarassed as it seemed her stomach was loud enough to be heard in like...China or something. |

Fera stumbled within the door, her one arm hitting the door. A new bruise to add to Fera's collection. Looking around, she knew something was missing. Perhaps was it Bannishtar who stood so still, and looked like he had gained weight. Fera shook her head, and noticed that it was just a twisted tree. Giving a growl, Fera hissed, "Where is Banni?" |
