Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

With the increase of members lately I can't help but notice an overall DECREASE in writing quality. It seems like everyone has been posting nothing but constant drama since the end of last year.

Constant, lugubrious drama in writing sucks. I don't care how many lame romance novels you've read, or how many episodes of Guiding Light you've seen, it still sucks. It offers nothing but a skewered view of the world, and is just annoying. But most of all, it makes it hard for there to be ANYTHING ELSE in the RP. My writing style has absolutely NO PLACE in all this drama. I try to be a bit satirical with many of my characters, witty, but nevertheless without some kind of human heart to it all. You don't have to do the same thing, but please stop making your characters seem like they've got nothing better to do but go around stirring up ****, because it really stinks.

If we see a man glorifying his race, gender, or creed, we can understand there is nothing about himself that deserves glorification.

I tend to agree...

Careful. You might be accused of starting a shitstorm with members.

I agree fully, though.

I truly do agree with Ian. Posting quality has fallen, since everybody is surrounded in "drama". And to add to it, people are doing things that a lot of people wouldn't dare do in their lives, e.g. attacks, mauls, etc. Not everybody would attempt that in their "dizziest daydreams" as Rita Skeeter puts it. Even Slytherins. I mean, they embrace the typical Slytherin way too much. Not all Slyth's are evil and deceiving. Sure, they can be mischiveous, (I don't care about the spelling.) but they do not have to be the worst people on earth.

And, yeah, with all the drama, it's becoming less of a school and more of a soap opera. I think I speak for the majority of people when I say that this isn't some cliché roleplay where we just do whatever comes to mind, just to make something interesting; I think that we should just, you know, go with the curriculum. Like, in classes, you don't always have to be in a fight. In a lot of classes I've been in, as both Kane and Wynn, I've seen that somebody or somebodies always start a fight or argument. That's not what classes are for.

EDIT: And I for one do not decrease quality simply by stirring up trouble; I keep my eyes focused on classwork. Leave the drama for after class.

Remember, your characters are Fourteen/Fifteen. They don't want to go to Azkaban for being caught breaking the rules repeatedly.

I agree with you about fifty fifty. I do see quality sort of decreasing, but what else do fourteen year-olds do but stirr up drama? ...That's what they're good at, generally. Middle school and high school are big drama cesspools. But some of it is a little, extreme, and like I said, quality...ehh. I mean, I haven't been on the site for this long amount of time, but I have noticed a bit.
