Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

New year at Hogwarts

The new year of Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry has begun. Bidelia Belleford will return as headmistress, Nate Aphelion retaining the position as Deputy. Last year, the school was thrown several times into disarray. With suspicious deaths and a few attacks at the more major end of the scale. Wizarding families are looking more and more into alternative educational facilities and methods. One family, whose child previously attended Hogwarts said that he had been home schooled for the year.

Professor Belleford, formally the schools charms teacher has also had trouble retaining staff members as well as keeping old ones satisfied. For instance, the potions department has had a few teachers leave in the middle. The History of Magic department collapsed last year and loved teacher Professor Mcdonald of the charms was replaced stating that he was recovering from an illness that St. Mungo's was yet to figure out.

Last year, the school was home to something no Head wants in their time, the death of students. A few, including one Slytherin 3rd year, passed away and yet Bidelia was incapable of stopping them or preventing any attacks, continuing the line of thought that she has completely lost it. When asked about the attacks she was not immediately available for a statement, when we did finally manage to catch her Bidelia at her home she stated "what? I don't know what you're talking about".

Even students are beginning to question her ability to retain her position. One student, a Gryffindor by the name Hellius Surla, said "She can't keep herself in line. People have been questioning her position for years. She's going to get what's coming to her". Suggesting that even students realize that Mrs Belleford is incapable of continuing to serve as the head of the fine institution that is responsible for educating the future leaders of the wizarding community. Sam Hindert, father of Slytherin 4th year Precious said that Bidelia's performance "was not up to the standard we have requested and the ministry is looking into it after the events of last year" clearly referring to the Red Cap attack on the school in which many underage students where injured and Bidelia was not scene in the battle.

Muggle Mail-man rocked by flying dustbin

Disturbed Golden Age citizen Myra Fawlks has been in trouble with the departement of mishandling magic after she was caught trying to launch her garbage bins at a muggle mailman. The man, whose memory has since been modified delivers letters to muggle houses, similar to owls in the wizarding world.

Myra Fawlks, 84, or East Kensington is to front the ministry over experimental charms and using muggle objects as a weapon. Fawlks was in the news previously and biting a muggle then flinging saucers at the "please men" when they turned up to follow up the accusations against her. Mrs Fawlks' children have made statements on behalf of their elderly mother saying their mother no longer has control over her actions and has descended into utter madness.

Myra Fawlks, is well known for her days as a diva of the wizarding musical world with several of her classic hits such as, steamy broom ride, red red robes, simmering cauldron (of love) and Charm me tonight. However, since retiring from the public eye Myra has caught the attention of the headlines in all the wrong ways. This is just the latest incident in a long line of mishaps.

Quidditch World Cup Hosts Announced

The International Quidditch Federation has announced that Bulgaria will host this years Quidditch World Cup, amongst a heap of controversy from the foundation for it's choice.

The International Quidditch Federation announced this morning that the board had decided that Bulgaria would be the host of the Quidditch world cup ahead of Holland, Italy, France and Belgium. Percy Weaselman, chairman of the I.Q.F, said in a statement this morning that Bulgaria was "the most suited country and had the strongest big, despite tough competition". This comes after the Bulgarian Ministry of Magic has been pouring Galleons into developing quidditch both locally and on a world wide level.

"Ze whole thing smells like a dozen dung-bombs" Said Pirus, head of the French Delegation. "Ze I.Q.F is clearly rotten to ze core wiz corruption. Ze French demand an inquiry into ze decision. Until such time, zere vill be no French team competing in this years World Cup", these sentiments were repeated in different accents from Pirus' counterparts from Italy and Belgium. "It is a disgrace" Pirus finished.

Percy replied to these comments saying that he was concerned with the French statements but would be talking to them in a meeting with the delegations from France, Italy and Belgium to sort out any issues they have with Bulgaria. He also made a statement about Bulgaria and some of the reasons as to why they were chosen to host the world cup "Well, it is clear to see that the Bulgarian Ministry is committed to Quidditch and they have helped develop competitive quidditch leagues around the world. Such as the leagues in Serbia, Yugoslavia, New Zealand, The Soloman Islands, Thailand, Malaysia, Bolivia, Peru, Algeria and Nigeria, just to name a few. All of whom will be sending teams to this years world cup for the first time in their countries history, we are looking forward to the new teams providing some added spice in the competition.

In similar news, the New Zealand national team played the Irish quidditch team who are one of the front runners in a friendly preparation match in the lead up to the New Zealanders first entry into the world cup. The Irish held the Kiwi's scoreless while the three chasers all scored ten goals a piece before the Irish seeker caught the snitch and brought the massacre to a close with the Irish winning 450 to 0.

Quidditch Weekly Wrap-Up

In a round that saw a potential finals draw up between the top 8 some unexpected results came out suggesting the competition is as tight as it's ever been. In some amazing spectacles the game of the round had to be split a two ways. Firstly the Wanderer's versus Magpies game. The Magpies wanted to win to jump ahead of the Wanderer's while the Wanderer's win would ensure a buffer zone between them and the team bellow. The game was set to be a big one, however, it didn't last that long as Magpies Italian Import, Roberto Rawicky, caught the snitch after only two goals had been scored, ensuring the Magpies jump clear of the Wanderer's.

Another game that went well on the weekend went completely the opposite way to the Magpies [versus] Wanderer's game. The Ballycastle Bats and the Appleby Arrows, who ended with the score of 560 points each. It was the Ballycastle Bats attacking chasers that started the ball rolling. As they jumped away to an incredible 500 point lead, with the Arrows chasers only managing to score 10 goals as they watched the Bats chasers pile on 60 goals. Chaser Tim Minchin, scored 45 of the goals continuing his hot streak from last week. However, with Minchin's 45th goal and the 500 point lead the turning point began as the Arrows swung into action with Fevola and Casper leading the charge piling on the next 80 goals, scoring a massive 35 each during that period taking the score to 900 – 600 the Arrows way, the Bats fought back again, through Minchin while Fevola and Casper applied another nine goals before Casper was put out of the game. With the score 990 to 850 the finish was always going to be a close one. With Casper out of the game the Arrows struggled to get the quaffle forward In the dying seconds, Fevola was fouled just before the Bat's seeker, Ronald Molehill, caught the snitch. The referee decided that the snitch was caught before the foul was called but after the foul had been committed, awarding a penalty shot to Fevola. The whole crowd was on the edge of their seats as Fevola steamed in to take the penalty, executing a brilliant fake to throw off the Bats keeper he slotted it through the center hoop to end the game in a tie at 1,000 a piece.

The other games this round ended with the Cannon's being upset by the Falcons, Bangers holding it over the Tornadoes, Harpies going down to the Catapults, Wasps pipping the Kestrals and bottom place Portree beating Puddlemere United
