Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

RP Location I hate updating this thing	Rosalind Barlow! CHARACTER PAGE personality Rosalind Barlow is, generally, a very pleasant person to be around. She's fairly outgoing and pretty friendly. With a great sense of humor, she's really fun to hang around. Sure, she likes to talk quite a bit, but most people can get over that. Regardless of Hogwarts house or other designation, she's willing to give anyone a chance. What's not immediately clear, however, is that this girl holds a grudge like no one's business. Despite her willingness to give everyone a chance, unless a person is very, very special, they only get one. If someone does something to get on her bad side, she won't soon forget it. And if she forgets, she certainly doesn't forgive. But for those who become her closest friends, Rosalind will stand by them. Her friends know that although she's fiery, it's just because she's passionate. Never afraid to share her opinion, she's also never afraid to defend it. When something is important to her, it's everything, and most things are either/or. A hard worker, she's not afraid to devote herself to something; as her mother says, she never does anything halfway. She's a bit scatterbrained, or as some have put it, "a nut case who means well," but she still manages to do okay in school. Her true love is Ancient Runes, and everything else is just details. history Rosalind's mother was a young pureblood witch by the name Sonya Kettering. Having grown up being given anything she ever wanted, she couldn't shake a restless feeling -- the feeling of an unlived life. After Hogwarts, she ran away and found herself in the Muggle world. This was where she met Henry Barlow, a nice young grad student. They weren't together for very long time, but it was memorable and they could have very well fallen in love. But after three months, Sonya mysteriously disappeared and Henry had to move on with his life. What he didn't know was Sonya hadn't left willingly; instead, she was whisked away by her family back to the cushy yet prison-like lifestyle she originally fled. About a year after Sonya disappeared, suddenly she reappeared on Henry's doorstep, except this time, with an infant. Taking a chance, she told him what she was, who her family was, and explained that under no circumstances did she want that for their daughter. Sonya begged Henry to take her. When he asked what the girl's name was, Sonya replied with anything you like. Henry, now an English teacher, named her Rosalind, after one of Shakespeare's heroine's. Sonya, before leaving, explained the letter which would come on Rosalind's 11th birthday, but asked Henry not to speak a word to her about being a witch. She wanted her daughter to live a nice, normal life, And so Henry, now a father, never saw Sonya Kettering again. It was almost as if she'd never existed, the only proof being the child she dropped at his home. But he did what she asked -- raised Rosalind as if magic weren't real. He went on a few years later to marry a woman who would become the mother Rosalind would know and love. They had two sons together, both embarrassingly named Othello and Orlando. And when Rosalind turned 11 and she thought someone was pulling a prank on her by sending her a letter from some crackpot school called "Hogwarts," he assured her it was real and watched her go off to join to world he couldn't be a part of and that had taken her mother from him. When Rosalind first started at Hogwarts, she was really shy. She made friends, but she was quiet, kept her feelings to herself, and didn't really take chances. People outside of Hufflepuff didn't really know her, minus a few people. But as the Knights of Walpurgis have risen to power, Rosalind realized life is simply too short to be afraid of who you are or what people will think. She has a temper and it's not hard to push her too far. She's opinionated and not afraid to voice her thoughts even if people don't like them. Rosalind's birth mother gets in contact with her. chaos ensues. mostly the year sucks. She and Kevin realize they actually care about each other, as crazy as they are. post hogwarts? - no epic plans so I'm not totally sure what I want Rosalind to do with herself -- I see her as intested and talented with Ancient Runes, translating, yada yada so eventual career as curse breaker, researcher, etc. LALALA props to asofterworld and everyone on tumblr who loves private practice and supplied me with tons of pictures of caterina scorsone. this is mainly so I remember stuff that I've talked about on different plot pages. nothing's in stone just because it's on the page I am totally open to anything! Third Year Posts: 135 Group: Hufflepuff Member #329 Joined: Mar 3 2008	Plot? Gia's kittens constantly sleep on Rosa's bed, and Sniff steals Rosa's jewellery. Course Rosa doesn't like it, no matter how nice Gia is else. The line is crossed when Rosa sees Sniff steal her favourite piece of jewellery. (Although Gia always gave it back as soon as she found it.) Rosa goes to Gia and yells, telling her to keep control of her animals, telling her to stop being so stupid and much more. Gia starts crying and runs off, sick of being yelled at, and doesn't return to the common room for a good while. (Making excuses to sleep in the HW all the time. Going far just to not sleep in the common room.) Eventually Gia has to sleep in the common room, and Rosa feels abit bad for being nasty, although she did have reasons.

Hey Rozzie! :lol: Two options for a plot w/ Jocelyn, choose your pick. --Jocelyn isn't really the studious type, but she is intelligent and does well in school. Possibly she notices the potential Rosalind has to do well in school and gets jealous, thus making her more care more about her studies and put forth more effort. Therefore, she could become the academic rival you're looking for in fifth year. --Jocelyn is also pretty defiant, so she'll probably get detention a lot. She and Rosalind could meet in detention and even though Jocelyn firmly believes anyone outside Slytherin is a worthless piece of trash (bla bla bla) she'll find something in Rosalind that she likes and they could become friends. Jocelyn won't tell any of her Slythie friends she's pals with Rosalind since they won't approve of the friendship, but they'll be secretive buddies. So, tell me which one you like best and if you don't like either one, that's cool too.

RP Location Wandering	Natalie Johnson- Probably friends since they are in the same house. She's going through a rough time right now since Noah was killed and is trying to help Jules through it. I think Rosa would be a good influence on Nat. She forgives and forgets, because she'd rather just move on and gets taken advantage of because of it. Maybe Rosa could teach her to stand up for herself more. Jarrette Loeffler- Jarrette is really laid back and likes pretty much everyone unless you really cross his friends. Then there's a rift at least. If you have any ideas with him, let me know? Royce Merlotte- He's got a lot coming up, but he's generally a likeable person. Maybe friends or exes, or a crush? He's gonna be in a relationship after the ball with Leighton, so let me know what you think of any of those suggestions. Jaimie-Duke Attson- Slytherin... probably not very friendly with each other, but I am trying to find someone to settle him down. Right now he is very much after any girl that plays hard to get, and he is going to be tied up with the plot with Aislinn and Jarrette until about halfway through 7th year. I may be able to bend things a bit if you want Rosa or even Elaine to be a part of that or a final girl. Let me know, i might have an idea. Emma Carter- She's a pretty air headed Gryff. Idk if you can use her for anything? She believes everything people do and say, and lived a very sheltered life, really. Walter Beck- Smart, loud, outgoing. He's extremely friendly and just loves to party and have a good time. If she's cool with that, they could be friends, maybe more? I don't have a final for him if you are looking for one.
