| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Fifth Year. This year, Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event, The Triwizard Tournament! However, these are dark times we live in, for the Dark Lord Azariah Amaranth has escaped the bonds which have kept him in Ministry custody, and has destroyed the Ministry in the plain sight of several muggles, effectively placing the Wizarding World under martial law and placing our very way of life in jeopardy. Strict curfews have been placed on all citizens, and now that school has started, no one--not students or staff--are allowed in or out of Hogwarts until further notice. So cancel any trips out you might have, because all students and staff must remain in, and everyone else must stay out. Now the Dark Lord is in preparation to topple the stability of both worlds and all races; to deal the final, shattering blow to the current world order. Why all this madness; this destruction and anarchy? Just what is Amaranth's ultimate goal? The first task has now ended. Christmas is here and we all know what that means: The Yule Ball will commence tonight. If your character is planning on attending and doesn't already have a date, be sure to snag one before all the good ones are gone! Today (Day 5) is Christmas day, so there is no class. We will have morning festivities before moving to lunch and freetime, which will then lead us to the night of the ball. You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. 4th Year Distraught over the death of his house elf, and the maiming of Fera Collis because of his own selfish stupidity, Ian begins to question his status in the world of pureblood fanatics he's fought so hard to get into. He finds himself oftentimes disagreeing with those in his circle, and the fact that he's fallen in love with the half-blood Lola Dior isn't helping. However, he hangs onto his status as a pureblood elitist out of sheer determination not to let his "friends" (i.e.: Julian, Bellatrix, ect.) down. Essentially, he has loyalty to the group, but without any real belief in it. And don't think the knowledge of what became of his victim, Fera Collis, is going to leave him alone. He'll be secretly trying to find some way to reconcile, that is, without Fera knowing it is him trying to help. As for Lola, they'll try to keep their relationship secret from everyone, treating each other acidly in public--they do that anyways, but its still more playful when they're not being watched. The relationship soon fails, however, and Ian is comforted by Constanta Lupei. In a surge of mixed emotions, Ian kisses 'Stanta after Slytherin's first game. Feeling he has quite a connection with Constanta Lupei, and knowing full well what it all entails, Ian begins a relationship (diving quite quickly into seriousness) with the female werewolf. Serious enough for her to take a trip to visit his family over the holidays. Ian will also begin his Animagus training, as well as further mastery of his Water controlling power. He will be trained alongside none other than Fera Collis, the girl he maimed, and thereby included her in his tangled destiny. Their meditations and their linked destinies forge a mental link that allows Ian to hear her thoughts. Consumed by what he learns of Fera, with all her thoughts and emotions inundating his own, Ian begins to make things right with her, forming a bond that will remain until they are both gone from this world. After becoming a fully-fledged animagus, Ian's midnight outings become more frequent as he begins to go on monthly outings with the werewolf Constanta Lupei during the full moon. Ian's best friend had always been his cousin Bellatrix Black but as he continues to distance himself from the pureblood circle, he finds himself becoming more distant with his cousin as well. Eventually, Alphonse will attack Constanta Lupei severely injuring her and possibly traumatizing her. Ian will be present, and a showdown between he and Alphonse will begin. Ian's brother is the more powerful wizard, with several years of experience on him. But Ian is saved by his bravery, his will to protect Constanta, and the connection between their wands. Neither brother can harm the other, so long as they wield twin wands of oak and dragon-heartstring. Summer before Fifth Year The Ponte du Lacs and the Slayers have always been close family friends, and as it often happens between well-acquainted pureblood families, the heads of both seek a unity between the two, to insure that the pureblood line is preserved. With Alphonse much too old, Ian--though his own blood is in question, even Anton assumes he is pureblood--and Kayden Slayer are betrothed to each other in a marriage arranged by their fathers. The arrangement is announced during the two families' trip to the Quidditch World Cup. Though they don't hate each other, the two are disgusted by the idea of being forced into a marriage, and constantly try to think of ways out of it while going on with their lives and dating whom they please. Eventually, however, they will begin to think that being together wouldn't be such a bad thing, and they start dating. However, once Ian's family is murdered, the two are free from the shackles of their betrothal, and decide to go their separate ways. 5th and/or 6th Year Ian eventually realizes that the man who's been rally purebloods to his cause, and the man whom his elder step-brother Alphonse is working for, are the same person. This causes him to become even more disillusioned with the group, and eventually a conflict between him and (perhaps) Julian Kahn arises. Eventually, Ian flees from the group, only to eventually come into conflict with Alphonse, who has gone mad with his obsession with what he has seen in Bannishtar's and now Ian's minds. With Alphonse missing, and his family murdered by Jacob Surla Ian finds himself the sole controller of the de Ponte du Lac fortune. However, having gone temporarily mad, Ian frees the house elves and sets his estate aflame. Upon the destruction of his estate, he'll learn of the hidden chamber beneath. Within this chamber (which has many protections). Constanta Lupei and Tinsley Charmicheal will join him in discovering the secrets of these catacombs, along the way discovering a secret that will change Ian's destiny forever--a secret which also binds Tinsley's fate to his own. Ian will then discover the powerful magical artifact that his step-family has hidden deep beneath the original French estate: the Elder Wand, something that should have never again seen the light of day. Alphonse also shows up, but is defeated in a way that frees Tinsley of Ian's curse. However, he is not free of it, and continues to use Ian as a sort of psuedo-horcrux. Connected now to the "other side" Alphonse discovers what is essentially the origin of all magic--indeed the origin of all consciousness and the origin of everything. Ian's mental wavelength becomes something of an anti-existence for Alphonse, but as long as Ian remains in the physical world, using that power proves dangerous. For a while, Ian believes it is over with his brother, but soon realizes that killing him wasn't that simple. In attempt to break the curse upon his family, Ian tries to make amends with those he has wronged. This leads him away from the pureblood circle, and into Hellius Surla's group, which will eventually merge with the Defense Club. Ian also eventually finds himself assuming a leadership role along with fellow Hallows keepers--Addie Lumineux and Tristan Nightshade--but proves to be a horrible leader, despite his having practically ridden Hellius' ass the whole time he was in command, trying to be something of a moral backbone to the group. Ian aids in effectively running the group into the ground. Amidst all this, Ian and Constanta fall apart, believing that they had grown to be more "friends with benefits" than anything, and so they decided to end it. 7th Year I have no idea for this. Some of the stuff in the last year might go here. Wizarding War and On Ian will probably fight on the good side, but he'll have taken up drinking. Also he is deeply mistrusted by the other goody-two-shoes, having already run the other group into the ground, and being one to use the Dark Arts even for just causes. He's a rather functional, borderline-alcoholic at this point, but he has points where he's just totally drunk and un-approachable. Bitter, sarcastic, but nevertheless wise, Ian shares his opinion and wisdom in the most abrasive ways possible--and usually when people don't want to here it. He will eventually meet up with Fera Collis and aid her in finding an artifact which she believes will make amends for the things she's done. It seems all are on the path to redemption, and none will have a share in Ian's curse. In the final battle, he will fight alongside her as what might be considered a friend, the two of them having reached an understanding of each other. He will die in the coming battles, murdered by his cousin and former friend, Bellatrix Black. He then takes Aunt Julia's place as a spirit guide. If anyone has any idea what his role will be here as a spirit that can guide others, it would be greatly appreciated. However, Ian has yet one more job to finish. Ian's demi-god brother wishes to bring all existence over to the "other side". He claims now to know the truth of existence, and while he may understand something, he has developed an illusion of grandeur, and he's quite insane to boot. Ian obliterates him, thus ending a curse that has spread like a net, catching people and binding their fates for hundreds of years. Now Ian, and those who would die after him, can rest...or not. Ian may just find himself influencing the physical world. With Ian gone, one final tangle of his destiny remains to be undone: Ian left a lot of people depending on him, including the mother of his bastard-child, Tinsley Charmicheal. Later on in the life of this child, Ian will appear to him/her, making no reference as to who he is, but charging him/her with the one final task that remains: aid the world in the coming crisis (which may or may not be a continuation of the same crisis going on now--we're a little fuzzy on that one) and learn the magic of her ancestors, all the while learning how to destroy the dark magic that still exists because of the crimes committed by his family. I need players for these following parts: *Someone to immediately dislike and distrust Ian when he joins the Defense Club with Hellius Surla (this will probably be everyone, but just thought I'd throw that out there). |

You may have a leadership position after Hellzy is shunned from the club. I still have to run this by Addie and Tristan since they are in command of the dueling club, but I say that it would have to be a tri-force leadership since it is Hellzy's organization that is combining with the dueling club. Eventually, the Addie/Tristan/Ian leadership will lead to self destruction... and etc etc. As for the war and so on, I say that when you become the spirit guide, it passes through your bloodline. Possibly have a one night stand one night with a woman and then have the result be pregnancy or something of that sort. That, or the spirit guide could be able to choose who it helps. Something along that.
I volunteer Jacob Surla. |

As for:
Ian helps Fera in secrecy by using magic, due to feeling guilty. Magically 'moving' her foot down to the next step, levitating stuff to where she grabs after it and so on? Not enough to truly pay back, I guess... Ah well. |

We might be able to work something out. Right now, Bellatrix is the only one Ian trusts with the secret to how he sneaks around the castle at night, but perhaps Ian and Precious should meet sometime fourth year and we'll see where that goes. But don't you have a thing with Julian, Precious?
That would be a good idea. Any takers? Preferably female? (Maybe I'm the weird one, but asking someone to have my character's child just feels odd...) Or I could just make a another NPC or another character. But I might just go insane if I make any more characters...
Hm. Might be a good idea. But why would Surla do it? Right now, Ian's step-dad works for Surla as an auror. Any ideas on why he'd want to murder them? |

Well, after Ian's breakup with Lola, and the death of his family, Ian will be looking for ways to cope with it. Drinking will be one, and he'll be a functioning borderline alcoholic at that point. Also, I'd like it if Ian had another girlfriend. He'd probably be real quick to jump into another relationship after Lola--just to get his mind off the old one. Post or PM if interested. |

Alright, if I remember correctly, a while back you said something about how Ian would be one of the first to know when Ella begins "switching sides" or whatever, seeing as he will be in the process of "switching sides" as well. I was wondering if you want to do something with that? I'm not sure what that something would be or anything, I just thought I would throw it out there

flings, you say? Laurel can do flings. It wouldn't really matter to her that you're a Slytherin, if that's not an issue with you. She's very...shallow. narcissistic. but perhaps Ian can get to know her good side. ? |

Hm, shallow and narcissistic you say? Just Ian's type (or the type he wants to stick to in order to not get emotionally involved, though they can do that if you want). I don't know where or how long the thing with Constanta will be, no more than I know exactly when Ian will breakup with Lola, so I'll get back to you when I get a more concrete idea from those two. |

Bastard-child sounds good to me, lol. For some reason I feel as though the adventures with the estate and the several experiences that the two will encounter together would eventually lead to some sort of infatuation on Tinsley's part. I would picture some sort of a Ron/Hermione thing, of course, with Tinsley being supportive of Ian with his flings, and usually reminding herself that she's a friend rather than anything more, but eventually it would be too much to handle. What do you think? ![]() |

Sounds good to me. Feel free to hurt Ian (like with the canaries in the sixth book) when Tinsley finally reaches a breaking point, lol. I think Ian wouldn't want to be with Tinsley at first for the reason that he'd just worked to free her from his own tangled destiny. He wouldn't want to get her involved again. In fact, he may try to avoid Tinsley completely after Alphonse is killed. Also I think (for selfish reasons) he'd just not want to get emotionally involved with anyone (though he knows it would be Tinsley if anyone) after his bad ending of his relationship with Lola (I'm guessing the thing with Constanta won't end well either). Hence why the thing with Laurel will be pretty shallow. BTW, got any good names for the kid. Not sure if it is going to be a boy or a girl... |

On the contrary I do think our bastard is going to be cunning. A bit .. messed up at times .. a bit too proud, having Tinsley as a mother...but it'll be an intelligent child, no doubt. And the canaries part = favorite. So watch out, for when you try to avoid Tinsley after Alphonse's death, you might find some feathered friends .. although in Tinsley's case it'd more likely be a parade of dragons than canaries. ![]() And as for names, I don't usually mind, although I do usually come up with several names randomly and save them for later use - I'll try and come up with something for either gender, though my fingers are crossed for a little girl de Ponte du Lac. lol |

More and more I think it should be a girl (for reasons I'll explain as the plot continues). However, for characterization reasons, I'd like to know a few things: What kind of mother is Tinsley going to be (to help shape the kid's personality)? And also, will Tinsley marry someone else or try to be a single mother (perhaps this is too early to know that, but at some point knowing whether or not she'll have an adopted father--and who that will be--will be important in shaping her character). As for looks, I'm guessing thin body type, dark hair, wavy, blue--almost purple--almond-shaped eyes (Tinsley's traits) with thin lips and eyebrows, aristocratically oval shaped face, high cheekbones, tall, with dark skin (Ian's traits). Sound good? Ian will leave his money with Tinsley (though he won't know anything about her being pregnant) before he dies. He'll have a feeling that he'll be killed before the end of it, but if he had known about the child, he wouldn't have gone (the guardians of his destiny see to it that he never finds out--cruel, but it has to happen). Also, when Tinsley kills Alphonse, she'll be able to claim his wand (which is the brother to Ian's) Ian leaves it with her when he goes off to fight the battle that will claim his life (so that whomever kills him can't go after Tinsley, as the other wand will protect her from Ian's wand's new master). That wand will go to the kid. Sound good? One question though, will Tinsley remain on Julian's side? Ian will eventually go over (to join Hellius' group) after Alphonse is killed by Tinsley, and then he'll eventually join Tristan's. I just want to know what you're going to do. And Ian will never stop calling you Baubles, just thought I'd let you know that. |
