Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

If we see a man glorifying his race, gender, or creed, we can understand there is nothing about himself that deserves glorification.

Please refer to the Plotline topic for a main idea behind it all. We're starting from scratch here.

I think we should stick with the general idea of the two groups being resurrected with the students, but make some differentiating changes throughout the entire plot. Instead of the ever present violence, it should only include maybe 2 major battles between them; one half way through the time at the school and then another at the end of 7th year.

As for events throughout the year, I believe that Charles needs to become more active in making them occur. I think they went as follows:

___
4th: The magical wards protecting the school dissipate for a quarter of the year, but then are reestablished. However, it seems to have an effect on the students; they are more rebellious and violent. (Thus even letting the little goody goodies have a chance at attacking someone. :P)

Addie Lumineux is discovered to have the resurrection stone. Charles eventually steals it through the mass confusion of the giant rebellion.

Tristan Nightshade is discovered to have the Invisibility Cloak.
___
5th: (Open for the moment.) I think that this would be a good spot for the two groups to begin to clash more often. If anyone has any ideas, please contribute them.
___
6th: (Open.)
___
7th: End of the year clash. Blah blah blah. Charles escapes. Blah blah blah. (Feel free to make it completely epic.)
___

Ian de Ponte du Lac is the owner of the Elder wand, but it isn't discovered as so until later on when the war is at its pinnacle. Charles tries to get the wand, but is unsuccessful.

It was also mentioned that Charles might look for the gifts of the Beadle and the Bard to make it so he is "Uber Powerful". We need students to hold the gifts if it is to happen; volunteer it you want the part.

I'd love to have a part in this, though I must admit, I'm confused (and a bit out of it). Can we (meaning me, and others who are new-ish) get a synopsis of the plot thus far?

EDIT: And never mind. I miss too much when I skim.

I'd love to hold something. Ian's family still owns their house in France. I had an idea that there could be something hidden there...

Someone suggested way back when that there would be a FOURTH gift of the Beadle and the Bard that would be more powerful than the other three combined. The person also suggested that it would be hidden in the center of Hogwarts and would (probably) be its main source of magical power.

Any ideas on what it could be, please say so. I am clueless to what it could possibly be, but I will brainstorm if no one else has any ideas.

Numberologically, four gifts doesn't make since. Three is a strong number, four is not.

Now, a mirror set of three gifts that are, perhaps, the gifts of life (since the Hallows are the gifts of death, correct?) would be pretty neat, particularly if they were rather gruesome. The Philosopher's Stone could be one, some sort of necromancy power could be another (I'd love to fight Inferi, or whatever they were called), and perhaps an item that transforms its wielder into a lich of sorts (that is, undead, and unable to be killed, though still rational and fully there). Or something of the sort.

I'd rather something like that than a fourth gift.

EDIT: Perhaps the third gift, the lich-one, could be sort of like a Horcrux of sorts, except that it doesn't require death to use?

I would like to be the first to say that I love Peter's idea.

(He'll need a backup plan anyways after he realizes one of the Hallows is a dud...)

Seventh Year. Lori rocks! But srsly, Morgan is the best! I love Malynne! But not as much as I LOVE ANNA AND LORI. BUT MORGAN STILL PWNS THEM ALL, THE END. I love Meg she is so awesome and epic. Did I mention how silly Jess is?

I personally like the lich idea; much like the transformations Voldemort went through.

That's essentially the idea. I'm a bit hazy on my HP7 (I sped through it when it first came out, and haven't really had the time to devote a thorough reading of it), but if memory serves, the Deathly Hallows were (SPOILER!!!!!!) essentially a transcendence of life. These mirror images would be a transcendence of death. Not a fine distinction, by any means, and a lot more evil. I think it would be particularly interesting if these mirror items had some sort of good application as well, such as the "Horcrux" of sorts could neutrally protect life, and the lich item was neutral/stable, in that there had to be an active transfer of life from the individual to the item, so that the husk left behind (the lich, which would include the mind) would be chosen by the individual. In other words, these items should not, at least, be cursed.

Or, perhaps more interesting, they ARE cursed, in that those who do not want their power are doomed to carry it nonetheless, if they are the one to protect it. The lich-thing would need to be reversible in some way, however.

And, of course, the Philosopher's Stone is hardly problematic.

Fourth Year

Again, numerologically speaking, six is not as powerful as seven. Why don't we combine both of your ideas, make a fourth object that pairs life and death... some kind of potion or something. Then we'd have seven objects in all, and a quest of sorts for the one that can tip the scales.

I agree completely...that way, we bring in the whole "seven is the most powerful magical number" thing from the books...i love it XD

and if we do end up having seven or six or four or however many gifts and you need someone else to have one, I'll volunteer Bellatrix...the Blacks obviously would have a lot of dark magic artifacts around, just look at Grimwald Place :/

Ideas for the counterhallows.
The philosophers stone can be made by anyone, who knows how, actually.

-Gift 1: The bringer of life. Use it on anything to make it live, for a short period. Those who have used the gift of life are cursed. They can not feel anything but pain and anger. Bringing something to life this way is plain torture to them, as a life without a soul is not worth it.
Item: A gold coin. A old Norse gold coin, with a faint image of Loki.
Who owns the item: (I'd advise Lola, since she's from Norway.)

-Gift 2. The taker of life. Kill painfully. Steal the life of another for your own good.
Item: The item known as the abominor.
Who owns the item: Mudwin Sinbyte.

-Gift 3. The gift of enternal life. Made of the souls of 7 unwilling people, and 7 willing. The owner of the amulet is granted a cursed, but enternal life.
Item: A silver amulet, with a large red gem in the middle. (Is activated by killing a person.)
Who owns the item: This item lies on the corpse of Yvette Hanberry, will not be affected by the abominor. (It's relatively easy to find, hm?)

At last the last item, or gift. The only half-blessed item. To activate and be able to use this item, one must manage twelve quests. (Like Hercules, but these are not determinded by strenght.) Wearing this item will grant you large magical strength, the sharpest mind, enternal life. You will even be able to truly revive many dead persons, in exchange for your own life. (Up to 1001 people.)
The item: A crown made of thorns. (Jesus was one of few who had managed to use this item.)
Who owns the item: It is in the rocks of the foundation chamber of Hogwarts. To be able to touch the crown, you must know a really long Ode, which is hidden in the 'Book'.

('The Book' is the little purple book who belongs to Annie, but was stolen by Madame Luna, who threw it in the great lake. It's not charmed not to be accio-ed.)

Of course, all of this can be edited or even not added at all. Oh, and the ode is as following: Ego spondeo ut ego nunquam have iuguolo , quod ut ego mos non utor flos of thorns pro quisquam alius quam evinco malum. Ego sudo in meus vita , ego sudo in meus families vita , ego sudo in meus amicitia vita.

Soo... Anyone like?

I like all the ideas Gia :) Perhaps if we did all those items Ben can find the large red gem.

EDIT - Es'pesh the idea of using The Abominor as one, the items we use should be ones in our rp, that would make it more personal to our site and no others :)
