| Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice |
| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. "Lola!" Lola was breathing heavily as she tried to get up, still clasping her wand in her right hand. She couldn't do it. She heard soemone call out her name. The voice sounded familiar. Soothing, even. She screamed as she saw a Red Cap coming towards her, but it was blasted away. She looked at the direction from where the spell was shot and she saw someone familiar. ...Ian. He was running towards her. She noticed a Ravenclaw girl, seemed she sent the spell. Lola cringed as Ian spoke to her. "They're not morons. I told them to go on without- OW IAN. My left arm's broken..." she said as he tried to lift her up. She coughed and hissed at the pain from her leg. She noticed he was in Gryffindor robes. She couldn't help but laugh. "Nice robes, there." she mumbled, but right after she spoke the Ravenclaw girl came over to them and tried to lift them both up. Luckily, she had Lola by her right side. Lola began to whimper. "I can't! I can't! It... It hurts!" she yelled as she tried to make the girl stop. "What are you doing?! No, I'm taking you!" said the Ravenclaw girl as she tried to tighten her grasp around Lola, but Lola wriggled herself out of the Ravenclaw girl's grasp and let herself fall, she fell on her broken arm. "FUCK! Just... take him... I can't... It hurts to try to... walk... just go..." she said as she began to cry. She felt this was where the Lola Dior story would end. She looked up at Ian and the girl with tears in her eyes. She didn't feel the poor Ravenclaw girl should handle two kids with broken arms. Lola sat there breathing heavily. She saw another Red Cap approaching Ian. "STUPEFY!" she yelled, and blasted it away from Ian. She began to sob uncontrollably. She wanted to go with the Ravenclaw girl and Ian, especially Ian- but the pain was horrid. "Go..." she said, again. |

"WHAT?" Taylor exclaimed, looking incredulously at the aurrors. "They can't be serious...they're going to destroy half the grounds..." she shook her head disbelievingly for a moment before coming back to Earth. Taylor looked around widely for any students, trying to clear a path for them to get back to the castle. Finally, when she felt that she couldn't wait anymore, Taylor sprinted towards the castle until, finally, she was beyond the barrier that several people were working on building. She made to go and help but, suddenly, she was hit by an overwhelming wave of exhaustion and naseua, and was suddenly more aware of the hundreds of cuts and bruises all over her body and she all but collapsed on the ground. She sat there-she didn't know how long-breathing heavily and shaking, half-formed thoughts filling her head. There were still students out there....oh, but that smell....she should help these people, she was the DADA...those students, the fiendfyre....Merlin, I've never seen so much... |

Nate burst through the edge of trees and back onto the Grounds just in time to see a flash of green light and one of the centaurs fall down dead. He raced over to where several Ministry wizards were gathered and amongst them was a short, evil looking woman he recognised as Delores Umbridge. He and she had never seen eye to eye, having met several times throughout his life. Not to mention all her crusading recently in the Daily Prophet which Nate was completely opposed to. "Delores! What the hell did you attack the centaur for? He's been protecting our students from..." but nobody got to hear from what Ronin had been protecting them because Delores suddenly wielded on her fellow officials and began firing off Killing Curses, the surrounding area now lighting up the eerie green many associated with death. "Avada Kedavra! Avada Kdavra!" Nate whipped out his wand and fired off a Stunner, hoping to subdue her but not kill her as that wasn't his way. Yet the witch saw his movement and dove from its path. He allowed himself a quick glance back at the centaurs and realised that Banni was still standing and it must be Ronin who had been killed. Nate hoped Banni would take care of the body as Ronin, though previously wanting to kill them all, had redeemed himself by shielding the students who had been trapped inside the Forest. Unsure of whether Delores' officials would join her in attacking them he kept his distance, wary of getting attacked whilst his back was turned. All Nate could do was hope that they woudn't blindly follow her lead and use some sense to help him stop her before she hurt any more innocents. "Delores! What are you doing? This is madness!" |

Professor McKenna stood hard, channelling the full brunt of her concentration into powering the creation of Hogwarts' new barriers, but her concentration was soon interrupted. Professor McKenna's ears perked up and her eyes moved around wildly, looking for the source of the multiple killing curses being fired across the grounds. Flashes of green light soared in multiple directions, the first of which making contact with the centaur chieftain, Ronin. Professor McKenna cried out as she saw his life fade from him, unable to help herself from tracing the spell's path back to the source: Delores Umbridge. Delores? There's no way? Why... why would she kill him, in cold blood. The filthy xenophobe... she'll pay for her crimes! "Keep the barriers strong Karolina! I must help Nate with Umbridge before she does even more damage!" She gulped. "Hold strong!" Professor McKenna, her path clear of redcaps, sped to Professor Aphelion's side. "This can't be happening; just WHAT is she doing?" Professor McKenna asked, her eyes teary and her voice cracking. |

Alphonse made good to look shocked when Delores killed Ronin. As an added touch, he had Delores fire a few killing curses in his direction, just to make her look crazed and keep him from being suspected. "Delores, what the hell!?" Anton called out, having had to dive into a small crater to avoid being killed. Not that the spell would have hit him. Alphonse would have made sure of that. As one of Hogwarts' professors entered the scene, he forced away a smirk. All right, my puppet. Dance! ((OOC: Cheesey and unoriginal line, but you can't say that I ever made Alphonse with the pretense of him being original)) |

Nate spotted Stephanie moving in from the side to join him and it had now been almost a minute and Delores' sidekicks hadn't joined her. He figured it was safe to assume they were just as shocked as he was and now he only had her to deal with. "Delores I have no desire to kill you. Frankly I think it's too kind for a monster such as yourself. But if you think it necessary to attack innocent creatures and your fellow staff then I think it's time you were taken down. What's it going to be?" Nate was never one to just kill without seeking an alternate option first. Yet from the crazed look in her eyes he doubted she would even hear him, let alone comply. "Hahahahehehe! Why Nathaniel, it has been too long since last we crossed paths. And still an insufferable goody-two-shoes I see, how predictable. Don't you have even a slight bone of non-kiss-arse in you? As for me I really don't think I'm going to come quietly and why should I? I am a Ministry official and can do whatever I want. And if that includes killing filthy half breeds or removing useless warts from my side (the staff) then I will do so without fear of reprisal." Nate was waiting for the right moment to strike, "What you call 'goody-two-shoes' I call decency and humanity. But agree to disagree. So you are not going to stop your power trip?" Again she cackled, "What you call a power trip, I call the divine right to exercise my position," imitating him rudely. A genuine sigh escaped his lips, "Then so it must be. Incarcerous." thinking his spell rather than shouting it aloud, hoping to catch her by surprise, yet deep down he knew it couldn't be that easy. |

Jordanna turned and watched as Julian launched a spell pretending to aim at a redcap, but clearly aiming at John. She beamed with excitement as the announcement of fiendfyre being used on the grounds rumbled over the terrain. Time for a little fun... I'm sure Julian will like this "Exurohostes!" Jordanna cried as she flicked her wand in an intricate series of directions. As she finished the final syllable, a lustrous beam of fire erupted from the tip of her wand, shooting into a pack of redcaps. The fire roared with vigor, as if forcing itself into existence through a dimensional gate that was too small to allow it passage. In an instant, the fire collected itself into a single mass, growing and shaping itself into the outline of a fierce tigress. With a roar, the fiendfyre began burning the ground and devouring the redcaps, their horrid screams echoing off of the stone walls of the castle exterior as their flesh was burned off the bone. "Come on, Julian, let's get inside the barrier; it has begun." |

Julian had been watching to see if John had been struck by his curse yet the sudden voice beside him uttering a spell he did not know caused him to turn and look. Jordanna, the only true beauty in the school, had cast a devastating curse of fire towards the nearest Redcaps, the spell scorching EVERYTHING it touched. He stepped back instinctively, not wanting to get too close before he heard Jordanna speak again. "Come on, Julian, let's get inside the barrier; it has begun." He grinned at her audacity and laughed crudely before spinning on the spot and racing back towards the castle and the magical protection. ooc| Perhaps you and I should post in the Entry Hall Courtyard. "They're going to scorch this place, you stupid girl!" Ian yelled. He hated this kind of self-sacrificial martyrdom bullshit. She could be saved if she'd just stop being a damned wimp. "LOOK!" cried the Ravenclaw girl, pointing ahead of them. Ian's eyes widened, and he could already feel the heat of a great fiery beast! The roar of the flames that comprised it seemed more like the roar of an animal as it charged around, pouncing and incinerating anything in sight. "They're insane!" yelled Ian over the chaos. Everywhere people and centaur alike were booking it to the safety of the barrier, "We're not anywhere NEAR evacuated! Hey! HEY! You we're still here you Ministry bastards!!" With his left arm waving in the air, he called for someone, anyone to call of the fiery demon. But it was to no avail. They couldn't hear him from here. "We have to run!" cried the Ravenclaw. "Lola!" And with all his might, with great pain--and perhaps the risk of further damage to--his broken arm, he lifted Lola with both his arms, his broken arm barely managing to support her back. "Go!" Commanded the Ravenclaw girl, running ahead of them, blasting Red Caps out of their way with amazingly quick spellwork. Ian, beaten and weakened, could not run very fast, even though Lola practically weighed nothing at all, he winced with ever step putting the pressure of Lola's body on his broken arm. |

Lola was about to ask Ian questions, and maybe yell at him for the way he spoke to her, but she suddenly felt heat coming at them. She screamed bloody murder. She sobbed as Ian lifted her into both his arms. And with all her might she placed her her left, broken arm around Ian's neck to not fall. She grasped her wand tighter than before and watched as the Ravenclaw girl ran off. "Ian!" she yelled helplessly. She wriggled herself out of his grasp and stood next to him. "Just... let's run!" she said, as she grabbed his left arm with her right. She ignored the sharp pain and bleeding from her leg. She began to try and run, but her leg was too weak. She tried to pull Ian alnog with her, urging him to run. She then stopped. The fire was quicker than them, and seemed to leave them only a small path. She looked at Ian with a helpless look in her eyes. "Ian! I don't think we'll make it!" she said as she continued to sob, even harder now. She tightened her grasp around Ian's arm and continued to pull him along with her faulty right leg. |

Professor McKenna raised her wand and took an offensive stance, concentrating on Delores Umbridge, who still stood with her wand raised. She lazily deflected Professor Apehlion's incarcerous spell, riposting with a sudden barrage of killing curses aimed at the pair. Professor McKenna shoved Nate out of the path of the spells and disapparated with a crack. With another loud crack, Professor McKenna apparated behind Delores, aiming her wand at the back of her neck. "I demand that you stop this madness, right NOW, Delores! Bella was running as fact as she could towards the castle, her pale face even whiter as she tried to ignore the pain in her left ankle-she didn't think it was broken, but she had sprained it at the very least. Just as she was emerging from the forest, Bella saw it-they had set the grounds on fire! "No....stop" she breathed, as if that might make the roaring flames recede. "Just wait...almost there..." Bella looked around as she heard someone scream and saw Ian, apparently trying to carry a Hufflepuff to safety. "Ian! What the Hell are you doing" she called incredulously. "Just leave her! The whole forest is going to-" But before she could finish, Bella saw what she assumed to be the fiendfyre coming right at them...she had to get to the castle. With a final glance at Ian, muttering to herself about how much of an idiot he was being, she raced into the castle. |

Nate was shoved roughly, albeit necessarily, out of the way of a Killing Curse by Stephanie who disapparated out of harms way and appeared behind Delores. With the pair of them on different sides, now was the time to strike where she could only hope to defend one of their attacks. He caught Stephenie's attention and nodded, Stupefy and she in kind reciprocated with another Stunner. With dual spells shooting toward her she tried anxiously to defend against both but ultimately was not quick enough. She had wheeled around to keep an eye on Stephanie who had apparated behind her, leaving her back exposed to Nate. She parried the witch's Stunner but Nate's landed squarely in her back. Delores teetered uncertainly for a moment before collapsing to the ground unconscious. |

Alphonse was enjoying the show. He knew that if he kept Delores fighting, she'd eventually have to die--by magic or magical flame, whichever it be. And if she killed a few of these annoying fools? Then better yet. It would mean fewer weak-minded fools to deal with in the future. Oh what a future it will be. The memory of that place still lingered in his head. He would not kill Bannishtar, he was certain of that. He needed to know more about what he'd seen, and he'd felt Bannishtar could help him understand. A great deal of commotion shook him from his thoughts--and it wasn't the little skirmish his puppet was in: A tigress, composed entirely of flame, was now pouncing around the field, burning everything in it's path. Anton had noticed it as well. "Who--" said the auror, "I didn't order that yet! Who summoned that?" Alphonse's father was clearly pissed. His expression was that of someone out for blood. The auror raised his wand to his throat yet again, clearly annoyed that he could not help the Professors with Delores. "Everyone please evacuate NOW--WITH HASTE!" He commanded, his voice sounding above the roaring flames, "There is not time left, RUN NOW!" He dropped his wand arm to his side. "Has everyone lost their mind!?" exclaimed the auror. "Father?" asked Alphonse. Anton sighed. "Well," he said, "What shall we do?" Alphonse looked over just in time to see Umbridge fall. Well, that was that. "We might as well cast the curse. We're near the barrier now." "Right. One, two..." the two men raised their identical wands, "THREE" "Exurohostes!" Long jets of flames erupted from both wands, shooting forth towards the forest, spiraling around each other high in the air. Beginning to shoot upwards, the flames began to take shape: long, serpent-like heads formed, and claws, and fiery wings. The roar of these flaming beasts was the roar of two mighty dragons! They landed, spreading flames in all directions. Everywhere, Red Caps burst into flames, continuing what the first fiendfyre curse had begun. Anton called out to everyone in the vicinity: "Alright everyone, RUN!" The Ministry wizards ran for the barrier, making it there long before the flames got to them. |

Nate watched with Ravenclaw interest at the fiendfyre as it tore up the area outside the barrier. He had only witnessed it once before in his life and he couldn't help but be amazed at the ability of magic. Yet it was getting closer and they had to move. With a wave of his wand he levitated Delores' body from where she had collapsed and began to race up towards the castle, yelling at anyone he spotted who wasn't yet running. |

Karolina could see some bright lights coming from a distance. She couldn't tell who had cast it, only that there were a few straggling people running for their lives to get behind the barrier. She was throwing everything she had into the barrier now, from protective spells to perimeter strengtheners. She was casting wards, curses, jinxes--anything that would keep undesirables from entering Hogwarts. Some of the Ministry officials were muttering prayers along with ward-strengtheners. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. Karolina's head turned, her hair, dirty and sweaty, swished as slow as a snail, as she turned her head towards those huddled behind the barrier. She turned her head again slowly, seeing the beast already happening upon some screaming RedCaps. The stench of burning flesh came to her nostrils. She ignored her gag reflex, her blue eyes electrically flashing as she raised her wand once more. "This is it, Comrades," she yelled. "The fuse has been lit, so let's snuff it once it reaches this barrier! Merlin save Hogwarts, and may whatever God you believe in save your soul." She screamed, her voice hoarse and waning as she kept waving her wand, leaving no holes in the protective barriers and wards around the barrier. This was one time being anal-retentive came in handy. |

Professor McKenna, after watching Professor Aphelion take Umbridge inside the barrier, turned on the spot and disapparated with a loud crack. Instantaneously, she apparated with the same crack right beside Professor Sneckenberg. She outstretched her wand, forcing all of her willpower into it. "This is it," Professor McKenna said to herself, putting all of her remaining energy into strengthening the wards around the school. After a few more crucial minutes, the barriers were re-strengthened. Professor McKenna lowered her wand. "Inside the school, now!" she commanded, directing her voice at an area where a few stragglers were still trying to make their way inside. With one last look at the grounds, which were now being completely devoured by fiendfyre, Professor McKenna took off towards the school. |

OOC: Sorry for not posting for a while. BIC: Kane noticed that his robe caught on fire, and he'd heard somebody murmur Incendio. He was in the middle of apprehending a Redcap when he pointed his wand at it and yelled. "Sectumsempra!" He looked at his robes after the Redcap had been cut open. Damn. He pointed his wand at it after cursing another Redcap and whispered a charm. "Aguamenti." He grunted as the water doused the fire. He then turned his attention to the Professors and Ministry Officials speaking. He thought about their words inside his head. "This is it, Comrades, The fuse has been lit, so let's snuff it once it reaches this barrier! Merlin save Hogwarts, and may whatever God you believe in save your soul." He looked around and groaned. He didn't want to go back in, he wanted to fight! He wanted to defend his home-away-from-home! He knew he would be powerless against Professors and a handful of Ministry Officials, so he decided not to turn his back on them and be an ignorant prick. He pulled himself together and headed for the Hogwarts Castle. As he ran, he repeated their words under his breath. "Everyone please evacuate NOW--WITH HASTE! There is not time left, RUN NOW!" Kane continued to run. He did not stop to cast spells, he did not stop to help people. He ran until he couldn't run anymore. Being so deep into the grounds, it would have taken him a full hour to get out with all of those people surrounding him. He'd had no idea that Hogwarts was this full of a school. He stared straight at a Redcap as it ran past him, brandishing its crudely made scimitar. He screamed a spell at it. "PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!" Kane saw the Redcap freeze in its spot, and he continued to run towards the castle, which lay uphill. He ran until he ran out of breath, once more, and suddenly he couldn't move! He'd heard a multitude of spells cast, but one rang out as he was hit. A student had misfired. "Petrificus Totalus!" Kane fell to the ground with a thud, and the area where the spell had hit, his right eye, began to bleed. Kane could do nothing but lay there, his eye bleeding, his complete body paralyzed. He lay there, hoping that someone would come to his rescue. All this had happened because he was a proud idiot. He couldn't move, couldn't do anything. All he could do was wait. |

The flames surrounded the pair on all sides. There was no way out, and the heat was unbearable. Ian's long hair was stuck to his face with sweat. "HELP!" Ian called out desperately, "HEEEELP!" But it was to no avail. The roaring of the flames drowned out all other noise so that Ian could not even hear his own voice. Ian tried to take in a breath so he could yell some more, but the air was too hot to breath. He choked. Just when Ian couldn't thought it could get any worse, there was a sound--the sound of crackling flame, almost like a growl. And out of the flames leaped a ferocious beast of flame: a tiger, ready to pounce. Ian froze. Unable to do a thing now. He had no wand, and even if he did, there was no spell he knew that could save them now. In an act of desperation, Ian made sure the fiendfyre beast's attention was on him and not Lola. "Hey! HEY! Over here!" The creature turned on him, and charged, roaring. Ian ducked, pointlessly shielding himself with his good arm. He screamed. He was not calm about facing death. You trust the white-man's magic too much came the old, wizened voice of Aunt Julia, Your ancestors never used sticks to do THIS! Water from the lake suddenly poured into the small area where Ian and Lola still had ground to stand on. Ian felt a pull of his magical energies. He understood: This was his power. Concentrating, Ian forced the liquid to assume a shape, holding it together through sheer force of will. The water took the form of a giant coiled serpent. The two creatures, one of fire, and one of water, stared each other down. The flaming tigress roared. The serpent, opened its great jaw, but instead of hissing, made some kind of gurguling sound. The tiger suddenly made a break for it, attempting to run around the water-serpent, only to be stopped dead in it's tracts as the snake brought down its tail. The fiery beast dare not touch it. It backed off, or tried to... Get it! thought Ian. The snake obliged, sweeping its gargantuan watery tail across the ground, hitting the beast. There was a great hissing noise, as if the snake was threatening, accompanied by steam where the two creatures had touched. The beast got up, and let out another roar, but the serpent had already coiled around it. There was another hissing sound, and a lot of steam. Ian could barely see the serpent as its head dove down with its jaws wide open. Its entire body lost its form, engulfing the beast, and causing a huge wave rise under Ian and Lola's feet. I'm guiding you through this, said Aunt Julia in Ian's head, You aren't yet able to have such control on your own yet. Wha? What? You thought it was all you? Ian could have sworn he heard a chuckle. The pair were suddenly picked up by a great wave, which split the sea of flames ahead of them like Moses split the sea. Walls of flames rose on either side of them, but the water propelled the through.
