Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Banni's eyes narrowed when he spotted the Ministry man stepping out of the light that had appeared. Why was here now? But this time, Banni kept his cool. The lives of the students were more important. He turned back towards the forest, raising his sword and charging. He slashed away to the left and right of him, and soon he was flanked on all sides by spellcasting seventh-year students. He passed several of his own kind along the way. All of them were fighting valiantly. Fighting hard to clear their way as they went, Banni and several students crossed the threshold into the Forbidden Forest.

"EXPULSIO!" Aubrey yelled, as loud as she could. She didn't know if the volume she spoke at had any effect on the outcome of the spell, but it made her feel a little better. She swallowed, trying to calm herself down. The ditch formed, getting larger and slowly filling with Red Caps.

"That was a really good idea." She said to John.

John blushed at Aubrey's compliment, the parts of his face that weren't bruised flushed a deep crimson. The ditch gave them breathing room. John decided that now was the perfect time to act. The next thing would be easy with the help of others but it was another one of his own inventions and explaining it would take too much time.

John stepped forward, wand raise. "Vallum". From the edge of the ditch a wall grew."Lapis Pugil" John said, his wand slicing the air downwards. A giant stone fist came and splattered a few red caps. Then swiping his wand and repeated the process, the stone hand slapped the Red Caps. "Fimus Consirgo" John said, small piles of dirt rose and swallowed some of the Red Caps. It wasn't enough. John slumped onto the ground, he was exhausted. He wanted to sleep, for it to be over and to be safe.

Aubrey bit at her lip, watching John. He was talented with magic. And brave, as well. No wonder he was in Gryffindor. She sat next to him, so she wouldn't have to raise her voice too much around all the commotion. "Are you alright?" She whispered into his ear, laying her head on his shoulder. "I'm really sorry about what I said earlier, in the corridor."

John watched the devistation his spells had done. John was still scared of Red Caps when Aubrey came and sat next to him. Making him jump a bit. She lay her head on his shoulder and whispered in his ear. "I'm fine" John said his mind slowly drifting off Red Caps and onto Aubrey. He slung his good arm around her and held her tightly. "I'll be better when this is over and me and you are safe" he said, slightly contradicting himself.

"As I was saying before" John started, but again he was interupted. A loud band and the schools fortifications had been broken. (OOC: I hope I'm allowed to say that) "Come on, Hogwarts needs us" John said, turning to the ditch. "Incendio" John said, burning the Red Caps. Before turning back to the others and taking Aubrey's hand in his as they marched towards the breach.

Mascacra saw the Hufflepuff girl help her by getting the hideous midget off her. She gritted her teeth, eyes full of fiery jealously. But then her expression turned into that of a calm individual. On the outside, she looked composed, but the inside remained nothing but a hellhole. The next redcap that tried to attack her was graced with her shoe. She kicked so hard that she felt her sock rip. Still, she held the stone cold face as the sound of a rustle far away came to her ears.

Screw Him. Screw Her. Screw Them. I'm not taking this crap anymore.

That was what Mascacra told herself, trying to convince her mind that she did not have a weak spot. She was going to go back to the castle and a thought came to her head. She was reminded of Harmony, and immediately made her way over to the couple, incendio-ing the redcaps in her way. She was soon hidden behind a nearby tree and peeked behind the peeling bark

"You know, I don't really pay tribute to people I hate, but that's what's gonna make you so special in the future, Miss Hufflepuff..."

She whispered to herself, an insane smile tugging at her lips. She pointed her wand.

Eructo sceleratus....

She saw the beam of light come out of her wand and Ran back to the castle, laughing as she went.

"I just hope everything goes back to normal after this. I'm looking forward to term ending at this rate." She hadn't though about it until then, but she'd go the entire summer without seeing John. She bit at her lip again but tried to shake the thought.

"Incendio! Petrificus Totalus! Impedimenta!" Aubrey pointed her wand at a group of advancing Red Caps. "Incendio!"

"STUPEFY!"

Another Red Cap fell in a flash of red light. Alphonse was growing tired of this.

"Alphonse!" called his father, "I'm going to contact the others. Cover me!"

"Yes, father!" said Alphonse, running over to his father while he secretly wished he'd come up with a less-messy plan.

As Alphonse repelled the creatures he'd helped to create and set loose (he never thought they would breed so fast, and attack so viciously) Anton had pulled from his pocket an ordinary-looking mirror.

Anton called out the name, "Sellers." a voice answered him, issuing from the mirror.

"Sir!"

Through the looking-glass, Anton was able to see the action behind him, multicolored flashes of light, chaos--enough to give an epileptic a seizure. Suddenly it seemed as though Sellers had dropped his mirror, but a flash or red light told Anton that he'd just put his hand down to blast away another of the foul things. With the magic looking-glass upside down--though it was a bit shaky with all of Sellers' movements--Alphonse could see the lake ahead, and was only momentarily shocked to see the Merpeople coming up to the shallows to aid the effort by harpooning Red Caps, or otherwise appearing to drag them into the water, kicking and screaming, in order to drown them. Just then, the picture moved in a blur. When it stopped Sellers' face reappeared.

"Sorry about that," said Sellers.

"What's the situation?" asked Anton.

"It's madness out here! There are thousands, not hundreds! It doesn't matter how weak they are compared to us, they've got us by shear numbers! The centaurs haven't been holding out well these past few minutes. They were overwhelmed, and a number of them were injured before we got there. There are at least two that are dead. We won't hold out this long. We've got to do something fa--GAAAAH!"

Sellers must have dropped the mirror, because the one in Anton's hand went blank.

"Sellers? Sellers? DAMN! Malakai!"

Now it was Malakai's face which appeared in the mirror.

"Sir?"

"How's work going on strengthening the barrier?" asked Anton.

"We're having trouble because all the combined dark energies of these creatures really put a strain on creating an antithesis-barrier to repel them. It's like a magical game of tug-of-war. We had an entire barrier crash a moment ago, but we got the barrier back up and some Hogwarts students took out the creatures that got through."

"All right," answered Anton, "I need you to work on strengthening the barrier. I don't think we have much choice but to scorch the place."

The look on Malakai's face seemed to suggest that he didn't like the sound of that.

"Y-yes sir!"

And the mirror went blank again.

"What about you, Thaddius?" Anton spoke into the mirror yet again. Another voice issued from it.

"We've got a good strong barrier around Hogsmeade. A few Red Caps got into the town earlier, but the the owner of the Hog's Head dispatched them before we even got here. No harm will come to Hogsmeade if your planning on doing...that..."

"Good. Keep it up." said Alphonse, putting the mirror back into his robe pocket.

All throughout this, Alphonse was blasting Red Caps and forming protection spells with an air of boredom. He really didn't like the idea of scorching the area, but he figured it would at least help to cover his tracks even a bit more.

He looked around. In addition to the Merpeople now attempting to drown and of the creatures stupid enough to get close to the shore, Hippogryffs--including the one that had mauled Hans to death--flew overhead, attacking Red Caps any way they could. Centaurs ran around firing their arrows; useless compared to magic, and--Alphonse was nearly startled to see when he glanced back a the lake--several long tentacles with suction cups had risen out of the water, swatting at any Red Cap within their range; grabbing them, throwing them, or pulling them under. Alphonse smirked. This had turned into a regular freak-show.

In all honesty, he'd never meant for the creatures to breed so much and attack like this. He only needed a small disturbance. It was a grave miscalculation on his part. He'd at least hoped Charles had done what he'd set out to do. Alphonse couldn't believe all this had happened just for that one purpose...well, two, if all goes right from here. So he had to improvise. Big deal.

He looked over at his father, just the auror raised his wand to his throat and yelled, "Sonorous!"

Anton spoke in deep, commanding tones, his voice amplified so that it sounded over all the other cacophonous noise of battle; so that everyone could here it, even in the forest:

"ATTENTION ALL: THIS IS A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE AUROR OFFICE. I WOULD FIRST LIKE TO SAY TO ALL OF YOU--MAN, WOMAN, CENTAUR--THAT I APPLAUD YOUR COURAGE AND DETERMINATION IN BATTLE. HOWEVER, OUR ENEMY GREATLY OUTNUMBERS US. THAT IS WHY THE MEMBERS OF THE AUROR OFFICE WILL BE SCORCHING THE AREA WITH FIENDFIRE. IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT ALL OF YOU MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE BARRIER BEING CONSTRUCTED AROUND THE CASTLE. WE DO NOT HAVE MUCH TIME. PLEASE EVACUATE THE GROUNDS AND HEAD FOR THE CASTLE, AND IF YOU ARE ABLE, AID IN STRENGTHENING THE BARRIER. I REPEAT: MEMBERS OF THE AUROR OFFICE WILL BE SCORCHING THE AREA WITH FIENDFIRE. PLEASE MAKE YOUR WAY BEHIND THE BARRIER. FIENDFIRE WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING IT ITS PATH!"

Anton removed his wand--which was identical to his son's--from his throat. He knew it would take a lot of time to evacuate everyone, especially with many of them having entered the forest for whatever Merlin-forsaken reason.

John heard the announcement, he was still holding the Aubrey's hand. John didn't know what FiendFyre was but it didn't sound good. "Wow, come on lets get out of here" John said, he checked over his shoulder for Lola and Edward.

"Come on guys" John called back. "Lets get out of here" John said.

"Fiendfyre?" All Beau had ever heard about fiendfyre was from the rumors about Fera, It doesn't sound good... she thought warily as she made her way back to the castle. She looked back for a last time to see overy creature on the Hogwarts grounds fighting the Red Caps. What's wrong with them? she thought, What made the Red Caps act this way in the first place? Shaking her head, she returned to the castle.

OOC: I'm meant to get trapped outside the barrier for plot purposes. So please, no one try to save me. Don't kill me either :P

BIC: Lola's head was spinning. She grasped her wand and looked aronud. She kept dodging spells. She got hit with "Reducto!" and fell back and landed near the Forbidden Forest. She looked over at the lot of her friends.

"Go on! I'm going just you guys go now!" she yelled, as her eyes began to tear up as she had fallen on her broken arm. She was laying on the ground, trying to get up and walk but couldn't. She flopped her broken, useless arm onto her stomach as she raised her head to make sure there weren't going to be any surprise attacks.

Fiendfire.

She could die from all this if she didn't hurry. She could die.

She pointed her shaky wand at a RedCap and yelled "STUPEFY!" she'd be fine, she hoped.

She continued to try and get up.

Lola watched as John ran with Aubrey. She grinned to herself, he really did care for her. That made Lola happy. She was still on the ground, though. Her bleeding leg had a twig stuck in it, now. She put her wand on her lap and quickly grasped the twig and pulled it out. She screamed bloody murder. The pain was horrible. She quickly grasped her wand again and looked around.

She saw John and Aubrey now safe. "Don't wait for me..." she mumbled, looking at them hoping they'd understand that she wouldn't be joining them anytime soon. She was probably going to die out here. She crawled backwards a bit, in an attempt to stand up. She couldn't. She had her wand in her right hand, her right leg was in pain, and her left arm broken. Useless.

She layed still on the ground, groaning out of frustration. She was out of view from nearly everyone.

She had no idea how, and if she could be saved.

Professor McKenna looked up as the announcement from the auror's voice sounded over the Hogwarts grounds.

"Fiendfyre?" she yelled. "Are they completely insane? There's no way to ensure the safety of all the students when fiendfyre is being used, even with the barriers." Gritting her teeth, Professor McKenna continued swinging her wand, leading the chain of fire around and around, burning and searing everything it came into contact with. With a bit of acrobatics, she forced a path to Professor Sneckenberg, standing beside her with her wand outstretched.

"How's the barrier coming?" Professor McKenna asked. "We need to be sure to cover the whole of the grounds, including the forest, so we don't lose anything to that God-forsaken fire; any redcaps caught inside should be easy enough to deal with."

fiendfyre?are they completly insane? Edward thought skeptically. He then heard what Lola had said. He hoped she would be safe, he took one last look at her, and then dashed off behind John and Aurbery, who were by the entrance of the casle.

Karolina nodded, her face sweaty.

"Even that horrid Whomping Willow will be safe from the FiendFrye, McKenna." Karolina quipped.

She kept adding more barrier, checking and double checking the perimeter that she could try and save what she could of the grounds. There would be devastation, obviously, but the ministry officials were making sure the barrier would hold. The Forbidden Forest was their main concern. The countless creatures and wildlife that resided in there should be able to keep their homes, unscathed by this unholy battle of wizards and Redcaps.

She gnashed her teeth together and grunted as magic and energy continued to pore out of her. When she felt herself begin to falter, she remembered those behind the barrier, and she prayed to Merlin that it would save them.

With help from a Ravenclaw girl, Ian made it back onto the grounds. Everywhere people were abandoning their stations, turning tail and fleeing. It was clouded over now, the grounds were soaked with bodies and blood. The smell of death was nauseating and there were large blast-holes where something big--a powerful spell, Ian assumed--had hit the ground. Ian surveyed his surroundings for a moment as the Ravenclaw seventh-year helped him walk. He was shocked to see his step-father and step-brother standing yards away, talking to each other. They didn't seem to notice him, and they continued to discuss whatever it is they were discussing.

Has Anton really come out of retirement? He's to old for this stuff.

He had a theory for why Anton was here, but why Alphonse? Ian had known his step-brother long enough to know that he was up to something.

Going up hill, the ground was slippery with blood, and Ian slipped, the Ravenclaw girl with the pigtails managing to hold him steady, however, Ian had caught sight of the mutilated body of a student in Gryffindor robes. He looked away quickly as he was lifted back upright.

As they moved on, a group of Hyppogryffs raced overhead, flying swiftly for safety behind the school's barrier, which would provide the only haven from the flaming deathtrap which the Ministry seems to see fit to end this battle. Over at the lake, the merpeople ducked deep below the water for cover, and Ian caught sight of the ends of the giant squid's tentacles as they sunk below.

They'd made it just up the hill when Ian heard a another familiar voice:

"Go on! I'm going just you guys go now!"

Looking in the direction from which Ian thought he'd heard from, he spotted the small frame of a girl on the ground. And yet another of those foul creatures was already making a beeline for her, smelling her blood.

"Lola!" Ian called out. Seeing as he was already a Slytherin in bloody Gryffindor's robes--which were too big for him--and having a broken arm and no wand and being lead around like a child by a Ravenclaw girl, Ian cared not for appearances right now. Calling out to the girl he fancied didn't seem that big a deal right now.

"Stupefy!"

A jet of red light shot forth from the pigtailed Ravenclaw girl's wand, hitting the Red Cap that was fast approaching Lola, and sending it flying backwards.

Ian used the girl's momentary distraction as a chance to break free from her and run over to Lola.

"Wha--HEY!"

He slipped a few times on the way--mostly due to the Gryffindor robes that were much too big for him--but he made it quickly to her side.

"Where are those morons you call 'friends'?" he asked, trying to lift her up. It was difficult, seeing as his own right arm was broken, but she seemed in much worse shape.

"Hey!" called the Ravenclaw girl, "You two! Let's get out of here!"

Forcing herself in between the two, the Ravenclaw girl supported them both, trying to get them to move faster.

Julian had watched for the most part as those around him fought frantically, all the while screaming in horror and anguish as blood flowed freely about the Grounds. The sounds and smells made Julian giddy with sick pleasure and he now wanted to add his own brand of chaos to the mix. He had long lost sight of little Kane and so decided he could perhaps attack another student he disliked.

He spotted John, a wickied grin lined his face; he had found his target. Wanting to make it seem as real as possible, he yelled suddenly, "Look out! More Redcaps!" pointing frantically near John. "Reducto!" Yet his wand was pointed squarely at John.

Supported by Ronin, Banni made it out of the forest. The entirety of their forces were now retreating. Several wizards could be seen in front of the castle, casting enchantments to strengthen the barriers that would save them from being burned up by the flames.

Ahead of them were the Ministry officials Delores Umbridge, the auror Banni had never seen before, and--Banni's eyes narrowed again--Alphonse de Ponte du Lac.

It was then that the young Ministry official's blue eyes met Banni's. The man's expression was blank. Banni stopped. Ronin, realizing he was now dragging Banni without any help, stopped as well, and asked, "What? What's wrong?"

And Ronin, too, saw the man who had caused them both so much trouble; the man whom Ronin could expose for the monster he was.

"You..." growled Ronin.

"AVADA KEDAVRA!" came a hight-pitched, woman's voice. There was a rushing sound, and a flash of green light, and Banni was suddenly pushed aside by Ronin. There was a loud sound of impact. When Banni looked up, Ronin was on the ground, his arms and legs at an odd angle, not moving.

"Ronin!"

Banni looked towards the group of Ministry wizards. There was Delores, the squatty old toad of a woman, standing with her wand raised. A look of deep and utter shock and dismay on the faces of her fellow public servants. Banni stared, dumbfounded, his lower jaw limp.

She couldn't have...
