Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Kidnapped!

Hey guys,

I think now we have enough members to consider reigniting the Quidditch system without people having characters on more than 1 team. However, we need a decent system to make it fun and manageable. Any suggestions on how we can run it please post them here. If you are going to make a suggestion please make its detailed and mention how the entire game would be played, not just "we should do this". Come up with a full game system.

Captains it is up to you to now fill the positions in your team. The exact numbers and positions aren't decided yet as we are still considering a system but its safe to assume you'll need at least 2 Chasers, a Keeper and a Seeker. More may arise.

So I really encourage anyone with ideas to get thinking on how we can run Quidditch.

Anyone interested in applying please PM your captain withy an application and they can decide who gets what.

Gryffindors I will email Addie Lumineux (your captain) to see if she's about. If not we'll give it to someone else.

Rule #76: No Excuses. Play Like a champion!

We also need a Puff captian, as Vieve has left, unless someone already has been made captian (?)

Personally, I think that we don't need a new system as much as just players who realize that this is a RP, not a video game or something. What fun is it to have a player who saves everything, dodges every bludger, or makes every goal? There isn't much. I think that, if possible, we should just have a system where someone should just be able to post normally, and then the other players respond to it, kind of like a duel or with spell casting. That way, we can establish weaknesses and strengths in our characters-take Ella for example. Maybe I could say that she's a great keeper, but on windy days she tends to get blown off course. Or, that she's distracted easily, so she's easy to sneak up on and make a goal-that kind of thing. As for the snitch, I like the idea of there being a special signal to when it can be caught like we had before...

But, since there's going to always be that guy who will take advantage of that (because if you lose a RP Quidditch match, there's apparently some horrible thing that happens...lol), maybe things like Goals and whether or not a bludger hits can be decided by a trivia question, or some kind of competition between the beater and bludger-ee? One site that i used to be on used the quidditch games on harrypotter.com or whatever the new WB site is, and whoever got the highest screenshot-score won. So something like...

***
Hufflepuff_Beater soared around the pitch, her eyes peeled for the bludger. She spotted it near the Slytherin goals and shot forward, swinging at it once she got near enough, aiming for Slytherin_Chaser

***

Then, a PM is sent to Hufflepuff_Beater and Slytherin_Chaser by the reff or someone, with however it will be decided. suppose that the s_chaser lost.

***
SLytherin_Chaser flew towards the goal when he saw a Hufflepuff take the quaffle. Determined to intercept the next pass, he watched the three yellow-clad figures intently, not even noticing a fourth shoot under him-untill, of course, a bludger hit him blah blah blah...
***

THe same type of thing would be held for goals between the chasers and Keepers. this way, people aren't posting two-word posts, trying to post before the other person :/

As for the snitchthe same kind of thing would happen, and the Reff wou.d just PM the two seekers at a random time whenever they chose. Then, the first person to PM the Reff back will get a PM saying that they have the right to "catch" the snitch.

Alright, so there's my idea...and please, anyone wanting the Slytherin team, don't hesitate...most people on the team have quit or i'm not sure if there still playing. So if you are already on the team, or were at anytime and don't want to be anymore, please PM me just so I know :/

I think Ben is deserving of the Hufflepuff captaincy.

If you need a beater/chaser for Gryffingdor, I'm pretty sure I can be on Fera for a while for that. :P Hopefully beater, most like Fera to swing a bat at flying, 'deadly' balls... (I'm putting this here and not in pm form as I only wish to do so if there is noone else who can.)

This is going to take a lot of work. To make sure that all the kinks are straightened out. 1 kink will destroy this whole concept.

Take time before restoring this. It is hard to run the concept because people get involved in the games personally and it's easy to assume a player is cheating, especially when in a position of responsibility or is playing unfairly, or baised to a particular side. It happened last time and unless it's not worked on, it will happen again.

Seventh Year. Lori rocks! But srsly, Morgan is the best! I love Malynne! But not as much as I LOVE ANNA AND LORI. BUT MORGAN STILL PWNS THEM ALL, THE END. I love Meg she is so awesome and epic. Did I mention how silly Jess is?

I'd really like to just RP quidditch and people not be stupid about things, but we know that's not going to happen.

Plot with Dave here! Updated for Sixth Year!
Plot with my female Slytherin Jordanna here!
Plot with my Gryffindor Jack here!

I actually like the idea of coin-flipping. The ref (somebody we KNOW will be fair) will flip a coin to decide successful passes, goals, interseptions, ect. and they'll send a PM to the players, who will then RP based on what the coin toss was. Also, we should try and make sure that mostly members we're at least PRETTY sure will be fair (i.e.: good RPers) join the teams, and make sure there is some accountability for being unfair (mark it as real cheating and remove house-points or give the other team penalty shots). I don't care about winning, so I would do things just to make it interesting, not to win.

I think we should start thinking more about this because teams are getting filled up quickly. I could ref but only if it's a non-hufflepuff match. I'd be fair. Just putting it out there for when we have all the kinks worked out.
