Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Banni entered his classroom, carrying of large sack that was much lighter than its bulk suggested, still weary and tired from all the events of the past few days. His arm had been healed and his his teeth re-grown by the healer ((hope you don't mind the slight godmode there, Ben)) but much of the physical bruising and mental wounds remained. His last class of sixth years had been awfully wary of him throughout the entire period, for some of them had seen him walk in with the body of a student, and those that had not seen it themselves had heard it from others--and those that had gotten their news from the account of another were perhaps the most irritating. Banni expected nothing different from his third years, particularly because the boy had been in their year.

As he crossed through the trees of his dark room, his hooves making soft plodding noises on the foliage-covered floor, he still mentally cursed himself for having been so wrapped up in his own personal quest for answers about his herd's behavior. He'd even been told by both Firenze and Gregori that his responsibilities now lie with the world he had chosen; his 'new herd', and he'd turned his back on his old one and failed the new one in the same turn! Had hen not had such a personal stake in the matter, he'd seen the bigger picture of the true dangers of the forest, and would have been patrolling for such creatures that would harm the students...surely he would have.

And then there was the Ministry: What would they do now that two murders had been found in the forest--and with no as of yet determined cause--when all of his kind would certainly be the first to be suspected of something like this? Bannishtar didn't need his powers of divination to know what the future may hold, it was easy enough to riddle out on his own. Humans are a predictable race.

Angrily, he kicked a stone into the small pond of the clearing, and sighed. He sat the bag down on the magical forest floor and decided to wait for his class to arrive, ever agitating second seeming like hours as he continually cursed his own existence.

Annie entered the Divination classroom, smiling, when turning to see if Angela followed. She turned to the centaur, who seemed sad, Annie didn't blame him, everyone seemed to be so at the moment.

When Angela also arrived, Annie sat down, and said, "Times are changing, only those who let go of their past are to keep strong." She had no idea where that came from, but it seemed right. Dwelling over the past never got anyone far.

She took up her bag, and slapped herself in the forehead, "OH MAN! That's typical!" Annie had forgotten her divination book.

OOC: I was allowed to godmode her inside.

Angela entered the divination classroom right behind Annie, still slightly dizzy and feeling more than a little confused at the change from the stone corridors to this. "Did I miss the part where we went outside?"

Angela took a seat, happy to sit down, and pulled out her battered Divination book.

Banni stared at the Ravenclaw girl--who he now believed to be possessed of the sight--not really knowing how he should react to her words. Instead, he gave a slight, meaningless nod and set himself to work, extracting handfuls of foliage from the sack and placing them down on the floor--sage and mallowsweet, which they are to be burning. He'd wait for more students to arrive, however, before asking questions.

As he passed Annie and a Gryffindor she didn't recognize, he locked his dark eyes with her green, and said, "I'd like to speak with you privately after the lesson about..." he looked to the Gryffindor girl. Banni didn't know if Annie wanted her friends to know about her power of if she'd told any of them. His eyes once again locked on Annie's.

"...about what you inquired of me weeks ago."

And he immediately returned to laying out piles of foliage. Hopefully todays lesson will help her understand her powers, as it dealt with summoning visions--in a sense.

((OOC: Since I think Tristan and Addie once made a reference in day 4 about several weeks having passed, I honor that here as well in saying that "the Prophecy" topic happened more than a few days ago. That...and I always assumed that multiple days actually passed between one day...seems more real.))

Annie raised her eyebrow, "Huh?" She wasn't stupid, and she believed this had something with the repeated times of Ben calling her a seer. Was that what she had removed from her head? There had to be something at least, Annie remembered reading tons of books and something about Ragnarok...

She took up her sketchbook, and went through it, noticing soon the sketch of a large battle. I can't remember this, still I do... Why did I erase my memory?!

OOC:Her eyes are green. Not blue. And feel free to see the battle scene drawn...

Tristan entered Divination and took a seat against a tree, closing his eyes as he struggled to calm his thoughts. The school was literally buzzing even now weeks later about the deaths of two students, and what bothered him more so was that everyone had assumed it was definitely at the hands of the centaurs. Increasingly the Prophert had featured aeticles calling for considerably tighter control over the herds, some even suggesting execution of the entire population. It bothered Tristan that, thought disgruntled, they mightn't actually be behind the attacks.

Ella walked into the divination room, half wanting to simply skip the class. WHat's the point of having classes today? Noone is paying attention... She thought bitterly, completly lost in thought and ignoring everyone around her as she plopped down on the floor. and why is divination required, if you're not a seer, what the point? And... she continued on complaining in her head, quite enjoying herself after a while

Ian irritably threw open the door to divination and entered, perhaps more pissed off than the last time he'd entered that horse's 'class'. It really was a useless subject, but that isn't why Ian is pissed: He'd just dueled Fera Collis in charms, after the two traded a few insults, and had effectively been handed his first loss (even against Hellius it was decidedly a draw). It was those strange powers over fire she had, Ian was sure that if she hadn't had an unfair advantage that he would have wiped the floor with that filth--only the likes Julian, Hellius, and (though he'd not be admitting it aloud any time soon) Tristan were at (or above) his level.

It was true she had saved him by dousing him with water, but it still came down to it that he'd been unfairly defeated in battle. She would pay, Ian just had to figure out how to do it without her knowing it was him: This was his chance to fulfill Julian's task.

The Slytherin had considered simply skipping this pathetic excuse for a subject as he changed his tattered and burnt clothing. He still had a painful burn mark on his forehead, it was shaped like Fera's two fingers.

Ian sat down hard against a tree, away from the others, as he wouldn't be caught dead with any of them. He stared in contempt at the 'Professor' as he began to speak. Regardless of Ian's complete indifference to the matter, he knew the Bannishtar may not remain a Hogwarts Professor for very much longer, given the situation.

Lola loudly groaned in pain as she entered the Divination Classroom with a bit of a limp.

She had kicked the side wall outside the Great Hall out of frustration from Jordan, Ian- everything. She was feeling a bit tired, but seeing Aubrey had cheered her up quite nicely. She bit her lip as she looked around, trying to find someone to speak to momentarily. She saw Ella, but she thought it best to leave her alone for today. She saw Annie, Angela, Tristan, and then she saw Ian, who had a burn mark on his forehead. Lola tilted her head and looked at him in amusement, raising an eyebrow for effect. Even with the burn mark on his forehead, he looked rather handsome, always having that angry look on his face. Lola shook her head and looked in the direction opposite Ian trying to not make it so obvious that she had been looking at him. It's not like I... fancy him, or something. She thought, as she let out a "Psh."

She sighed as she leaned against one of the trees, the one furthest from Ian. As much as she enjoyed bickering at him: today just was not the day for her to deal with it. Anyways, if he tried to start something, she'd make a comment about the burn mark on him, though she had an idea of where it came from, and from who. She smirked to herself as she wondered what could have possibly brought Fera to do such a thing, then she recalled it was Ian whom bared the burn mark, so that question answered itself. Lola placed her bag on the floor and let her body slide down onto it. She ran a hand through her long hair and gathered it in her hand, swinging it to the left side of her body. She brushed her robes off and rubbed her eyes lightly, being careful not to wipe off her make up.

She inhaled deeply, held it, and then exhaled once more. She had been so stressed today, she was surprised she was making it through the day. The nightmare, the bickering with Beau, the kiss with Ben... the kiss with Ben. That had left her cheery, but it was quickly ruined by Jordan coming up to her and acting as if she was going to run back in to his arms as if he was the only boy that could ever love a girl like her. Even if he was, she wouldn't dare. Not Jordan, not again.

She rested her head on the tree and waited for Ben, Aubrey, or Azura to enter.

Lola heard someone walk in. She saw it was Jordan. She glared at him as he smirked at her. Jerkface. She sighed and turned the opposite way, not caring that she was facing where Ian was. Better him than Jordan.

She prayed Aubrey, Benny, or Azura would walk in, soon.

Savannah entered the enchanted class for her second time and looked around to decide with whom she'd sit with in class.

She spotted Lola and smiled at her... hmmmmmm no Savannah thought as she spied her options. About to pick the boring choice of sitting with her housemates - Savannah spotted a girl whom she had not met, but recognized from lunch.

Shrugging, Savannah made her way to the ginger-head and took a seat.

"Hi." She said friendly and prepared herself for the lesson.

Annie watched as many people "Sir..." Annie hesitated a bit, she didn't want the whole class to know, "Is it possible to regain deleted memory? My sister got someone to peform it on my owl, so he's acting so silly." Annie told a white lie, but it didn't matter at the time present.

John entered the class

Having struggles to attend most of John's classes these days as John found himself searching defensive magic and reading about the power of charms and transfiguration during the class time of his "non-wand" subject, as he liked to refer to them now. These where usualy the classes John disliked the most, and also seemed to do the worst in.

Of them, Divination was the least painful of the lot and due to the fact that his attendance to classes was dropping John decided he would attend Divination but make it extreemly clear that he did not want to be, nor would he be concentrating on the lesson. Instead he would take out a book and continue his reading on one of his prefered subjects in the corner. Every so often, he would see something worth while and join the class.

This week John was not in the mood for divination. He struggled in the library over lunch to learn his newest defensive spell Cannonius, which he had found in an old defense against the dark arts book. He had also been reading about non-verbal spells. He quickly realized that it was much to difficult for him yet, but he read about it out of interest. The idea seemed highly advantageos in duels and fights. Your opponent would not know what they were facing giving an advantage to the spell caster. However, despite spending most of his lunch in the library, he felt no closer to performing either the cannon spell or the non-verbal magic. Despite one attempt towards the end in which no cannon appeared but there was a thud on the wall followed by a dent.

The cannon spell, could form a cannon ball and fire it across the room at an opponent. However, it was extreemly difficult to master even the most basic of cannon balls due to the fact that you were producing a cannon ball out of nothing rather then transfiguring something into a cannon ball or commanding a cannon ball to fire at someone. It combined both Charms and Transfiguration with defense. The cannon ball, due to it's inventiveness, would take the form of the cannon in the spell casters head. This could mean that the cannon ball could be on fire or several pellets rather then a full sized cannon ball, or it could be invisible. However, John was just trying to get the basic cannon ball before he tried any of the other types of cannon balls.

He took a seat next to Tristan, whom had earlier entered the class. He took out his book and continued from where he was at the end of lunch.

Aubrey entered the classroom.
She saw that Lola was already here and she came and sat next to her. Lunch had ended too quickly for her liking and she hadn't had the time to properly talk to her cousin. Aubrey's eyes flickered to Jordan then to Ian - too alike for her liking.
Luckily Lola was no where near them. Aubrey hated Divination - it was a pointless class to her and she made her opinions known. Today, however, she wasn't feeling up to it.

John saw Audrey enter the class room. His eyes followed her across the class room. Hmmm, interesting. Haven't seen her around? John said. He looked around the class. The Centaur who took the class was flustered by one of the Ravenclaws. He wandered over to the girl.

"Hey, my name's John. What's yours?" John says, very boldly.

As the rest of the class entered, Banni composed himself somewhat, determined not to allow any of his anger or worry to show, for he--like the rest of the staff--did not want the students to see him lacking in spirits, for it could it cause the children to lose faith in the staff. Still, he was concerned for his kind, yet more concerned for the children: He had defeated Ronin, but the stone-faced centaur was still out there and obviously not in control of his own mind. Also, though he was now gone, Banni hadn't ruled out the possibility that there were still many of his supporters within the herd, though he knew they would have remained silent after Banni had beaten their leader, but what about now that he had gone? The danger was still there.

With all his will, Banni had managed an expression that echoed the passive, indifferent look of a mystic or fortune teller about to reveal someone's gruesome fate while keeping a straight face through all the nasty details--of course, that was how many of the humans here saw the centaur, anyways.

When Annie asked him a question, he answered:

"I do not know," he said, "You forget I am no wizard, so you're better of asking one of the other staff."

The centaur turned and picked up a piece of parchment that had been lying on the stump he used to put things--his "desk"--and said again to Annie:

"However," he said with a knowing smile, "I am not one to believe that memories can be so easily eradicated, for they create something was not there before, and I do believe that they can be called back, if forgotten or lost."

Reading off the parchment, the centaur began to call names, making sure everyone was here. When he was finished he said:

"Hm. Yvette Hanberry and Ben Thomas are missing." He scanned the group of students, making sure the did not accidentally pass them over, "Does anyone know if they have an excuse?" he asked the class. If they were tardy for class today, then he would have to dock house points, and there would be a detention if they didn't show without an excuse.

"Now we are about to begin--Ian Ponte du Lac, wipe that scowl off your face," he said, as stern as any human Professor should be--he'd become good at this, "And John Holland, put that book down. This is not the place for that. I will take points away if I find you are not paying attention--or showing outward signs of disrespect." He glanced passively at Ian again.

In all actuality, Banni did not value much the system of taking house points, he supposed it did create a sense of responsibility, as your entire house pays the price for your misdeeds, but Banni preferred more immediate forms of punishment, like helping him spread dragon manure over the gardens. Banni did not tolerate insolence, for no one tolerated it where he came from (look what happened to Banni himself--exiled) where insolence often got you killed--and not always as a punishment, but as a direct consequence of your actions. However, Professor Belleford and the other staff say it is good to take or award points--and to save caring for dangerous Hippogryffs for more grave offenses--so Banni will play along.

"As I was saying," he began, "The last time we met, we had learned of the stars and planets, and of their significance to Divination. Today, we will be learning the art of scrying from fume and flame in order to better understand the signs in the stars."

Banni raised his hand to ceiling, and the solar system model overhead disappeared, and was replaced by a strange symbol:

Posted Image

"This symbol is known to my people as The Golden Spiral," Banni explained, "It is a symbol for the balance of nature, and of life, and is one of many 'archetypes' we will be covering today. Now, can anyone tell me what an archetype is? Can anyone tell me what other name there is for the Golden Spiral or its mathematical representation as a ratio? How is it a symbol of balance in nature?"

((OOC: Lame, easy question I know, but just see where I'm going with this. Hell, if you've read the Da Vince Code, then you should be able to answer those questions...or you could look in the Divination Lore section of this forum.))

Savannah abanndoned her attempt to get to know the new girl and allowed her attention to be averted to the sky.

She knew what an archetype was in the grammatical sense - but she was pretty sure Bannishtar didn't want a vocabulary lesson...
