| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. I wanted to point out that people's characters are skipping class... when in the books did anyone skip classes? There is like... never any gryffindors or Ravenclaws on 'cept for like a 3 or 4... Tristan, Addie, occasionally Aubrey and now Angela... where'd everyone go? How do rumors start when no one actually starts it? I mean... people just seem to know stuff... they don't say that a 2nd year student told them so and so did this and that's how they know... So yea, just a couple things bugging me that I'd like answers to if anyone can provide them... I'm not like all upset or anything... I'm just wondering like, if anyone else noticed this and if I'm the only one these things are bugging. Thanks for listening/reading... you know what I mean.

Thing is, this isn't the book. We're not following the book by heart, so obviously things are going to be different, to a certain extent. And I've noticed not a lot of people skip class. They sometimes just choose not to post in them. And people have school, work, that kind of thing. Like Aubrey- she has a job. So they can't be on all the time, you know? And as for the rumors, most things are mentioned a bit too loudly. Like the whole William thing, Professor Aphelion mentioned it. |

Right, actual announcements I get... Alright, I guess we are all just role-playing whatever... why have classes if everyone can skip as they like? I know, cause schools teach classes but it kinda makes it pointless for some... doesn't it? |

People go to classes. They're fun. I go to my classes. Do my best to, that is. Not everyone skips them. And people CAN get caught, you should know since you yourself are a Professor. Though I'm not saying it's right if you go and hunt everyone down who's cutting class. It's not pointless. This is a school roleplay. We're bound to have classes. We get points that way. That's like say "Why even have a roleplay if people are going to be offline for other OOC purposes?" It doesn't make sense. I don't see why that bothers you. It's school. People cut class. It happens. We're not going to be the perfect little school. Hellius: Ahh, edit for misspelling that bothered me.

Well, I know some people don't have time to rp but they could at least post something during their break... right? And I know that they can get caught but there's also seems to be few teachers on available... like they are only available if they are doing a class and hardly then too. I dunno... I'm just gonna shut up now since this seems to have gotten more than I thought it'd get. Geez, I didn't know it was going to upset people. |

Some people like, Aubrey, get caught off guard with work. Other things. They don't have time to even come on and post that they'll be taking a break. That's supposed to be understandable. Right. Well, you weren't expecting to get everyone to agree with you, were you? Obviously, there will always be people who disagree. And who's it upsetting? |

I'd like to say that in the books, I'm sure some people skip class intentionally. In PoA, Hermione fell asleep when she was supposed to be going to Charms with Harry and Ron. Now Hermione freaked out because that's Hermione for you, and ran to apologize to Professor Flitwick. Here, I'd say that if people post skipping your class, the next time they come to your class you can say "I didn't see you in class last time" or whatever. But here people seem to come to class, and cut out early rather than skip class entirely. |

Still... Classes are way too long... Nobody who really wants to get something out of the RP that day stays in the classroom... Almost nobody comes up with cool storylines there, and if they do, it's almost always the same! FANTASY, guys, FANTASY. (I'm no good here myself, but you wait. ;)) |

People probably don't start interesting rps in classrooms, because "interesting" usually means "trouble" in one way or another, right? I mean, who wants to cause mischief with a teacher standing 5 feet away? lol. |

Exactly, that's what I mean with FANTASY. Someone COULD let their spell backfire REALLY, but everybody's mostly walking around being 'perfect.' ps:Can I make you a sig? I lurve making them! Pwetty, pwetty pleaze? PM me details if you wish.

Well, my character is Hermione based, just because she's the character I relate the most to. And I mean that in her intense "mothering" way. That "if you had just listened to me, we wouldn't be in this mess". So until my character makes some friends, she's going to try to do her best all the time in the things she can control. So, that means really bad in Divination, because you can't control the future and that's a very scary concept. |
