Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? Deputy Headmaster & Transfiguration Professor Posts: 768 Group: Ravenclaw Head of House Member #122 Joined: Mar 20 2007	Nate unlocked the classroom and walked quickly to the front, anxious to get back to more urgent matters. At present Professor Roberts was MIA and he would just have to put up something on the board to keep the students busy until she showed up. HE whipped out his wand nad began to hastily write on the board, his hurry showing in his writing: Welcome 3rd years! Today you will be learning a charm to calm or soothe an agitated target, a useful spell when one encounters an aggressive creature or even another wizard. The incantation is 'Placate', easy enough to remember as the word actually means to calm or soothe. The charm works by releasing endorphins in the target and causing a feeling of contentment and peace. However, a particularly fired up target will still be angry enough to continue their attack. So don't assume it will save you from everything that may attack. Given the present situation about the school I would rate this as highly important to master. Off you go. Happy with the quick lesson he figured the spell was appropriate to help students protect themselves. He raced from the classroom, leaving the door open to encourage students in. He hoped the alck of supervision wouldn't bite him in the arse.

Not only Addie and Julian, but also the deaths of two housemates. He took a seat near the front and read the board, finding the spell quite interesting. Yet there was no Professor present and if he wasn't mistaken the handwriting was that of his Transfiguration Professor. Substitute teachers was nothing new in Charms so he wasn't surprised. Yet with nobody else present he couldn't practice the spell.

She took a seat near Tristan, read the board and got out her wand. She waited for Beau to come in after her so she can practice the spell on her.

"Who should go first as target, I'm sure we could both use some endorphins at this point." She giggled playfully, hoping to inspire the same thing in Arthwen.

He slid from his seat and approahced the pair, "Did you want to practice with me? I don't mind being the 'aggressor' if you want." His silly grin and playful attitude he hoped would take her mind off her brother, if only for a short while.

Unregistered	Ben entered the classroom, to see no teacher at the front, however, this was no surprise to him as they had not had a set charms teacher since Professor McDonald had left for now. He heard the tail end of Tristan's sentence, before remembering this was rarity for the two of them being in a lesson together. "You can practice with me Tris, If Arthwen and Beau are together on this one, But yes, you can be the aggressor," He smiled, before pulling out his own wand, holding it by the handle, he awaited Tristan's reply.

You should have known better than to say that! You're not helping at all, in fact you're just making everything worse! She took a desk on the far side of the room, drawing attention away from herself, and began to twirl her wand absent-mindedly. It's probably best just to leave her alone...
