Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Banni awoke to the sound of birds chirping. It was still dark though, but no sooner had this thought run through Banni's head then did he remember that it was always dark in the forest. He groaned. The centaur was now even sorer than he was before. He was thankful that it was the weekend, or else he'd have a class that he needed to get to. But he was also worried: He the pain was going to get gradually worse over the next few days before it got any better. He couldn't just lie here for days. He needed to get back.

"So your still alive, Bannishtar?" asked the voice of Gregori. Banni kept his eyes closed, so that he could see the Elder no better than the Elder could see him.

"Unfortunately," Banni said, breathing heavily.

"Only hurts when you stop, eh?" he asked.

"I suppose that's some kind of metaphor?" Banni asked, somewhat irritated that the old centaur would not let him sleep.

"Hm. I suppose it can be," the old centaur mused, "But then again I suppose a lot of things can have different meanings, depending on the listener. Like Prophecies, for instance."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean," said Gregori, "That Prophecies happen because someone makes them so. Without someone acting on them, they have no meaning. I'm saying that whatever Ronin, or whatever is now behind Ronin, was planning to do, he succeeded. For all points and purposes, the Prophecy I spoke of is now on the road to being fulfilled."

None of this really reached Banni, for he was in so much pain that everything the old man said seem to go in one ear and out the other.

"Now there is the issue of our new leader," Gregori went on, "Now as you did defeat him in battle, you are entitled to a leadership position. But I suppose you'll be wanting to return to your new life. In fact, I have a feeling that's where you ought to be. What I'm saying is you can't just lie around here like a beaten horse, you've got to go! You've cast your lot in with the wizards, now you must go and be part of their tribulations to come. Go on! As I recall, you were banished!"

"So your kicking me out?" Banni opened his eyes and shot daggers at the old centaur, "After I risked life and limb, after I got beaten into a bloody pulp?"

"That's the spirit! Use that anger! You'll need every powerful emotion you can muster to get off that ground and back to what you are supposed to do."

"Whatever," Banni replied pittifully, closing his eyes again, "I want to rest. I'm in so much pain. Don't I at least deserve to rest..."

Right now, Banni didn't give a damn about prophecies, about the herd, about anything he supposedly had to do. He didn't give a damn about anything but his own pain, and how to escape it through sleep.

"Perhaps," Gregori said, as if knowing something Banni did not, "But sometimes, we are called to do things, important things, even when we've been so blugeoned by the obstacles in our way. Sometimes you've got to act. There are people waiting for you. Your new herd needs you. They need you right now."

Banni merely grunted in indifference.

"Fine then," he said, a bit peeved by the sound of his voice, "I suppose it will take real need of you to get you to stop being such a stubborn mule! Always the same with you foals, you just don't want to do anything about anything until it's a problem."

And then, as if on cue, Banni heard a scream in the distance, an animal-like growling. A voice called out. He heard a loud, echoing BANG, and then an animal-like screech. Banni shot up to his feet in a way he had felt he'd never do again, eyes narrowed, searching for the source of the noise.

"What was that?" he demanded.

"Sounded like it came from the direction of the school," said Gregori matter-of-fact-ly.

Could it have been Ronin, could whatever is behind him be compelling him to harm others? What if a student was hurt? What if one of his friends--or worse. Banni instinctively began running, completely unaware of the pain it caused him.

"That's it!" Gregori called after him in a jovial manner as the exiled centaur ran through the trees towards his true home.

"That's it! Go on now, shoo! Your exile is still in effect! You've go no place here, go on! AHAHAAHAHAHA!" Gregori's mad cackling seemed to follow Banni all the way out of the forest, back towards the light; back towards the place where now belonged: His new herd.
