| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Nate stepped within the dark confines of the Forbidden Forest. He paused to allow the others to catch up, lighting his wand tip with a flick. He held it high and scanned the surrounding area, seeing only trees, darkness and that uncomfortable feeling that something or someone lurked just behind the closest shadow. It unsettled him. |

Banni followed behind Nate only taking the lead when he stopped, for Banni knew best where the herd might be. Banni could see well enough in the dark, his eyes now shining as if they emitted their own light, though this was only his night-vision, similar to a dog or owl's. ((OOC: I don't know if centaurs have this, but I would suppose since it is so dark in the forest)) BIC: "I will lead from here," he said, "The grounds were funeral pyres are lit are this way," and he began to move further in into the |

He made to join him, following beside Bannishtar. "Is it a possibility that your herd will see it as disrespectful to arrive unannounced on such an occasion as a funeral?" Nate knew that so many things could and likely would go wrong with this expedition. In all likelihood wands would be used, he only hoped that Charles would restrain himself and that no one would be hurt. |

"Perhaps," said Banni as he lead on through the dark forest, inwardly savoring the familiar scents and sounds, "but as of right now, they'd think it disrespectful to have seen us at all, given their warning about none of us ever returning to the forest. Given that, I'd think it best we present ourselves when they will be least likely to want a fight: after having already fought and suffered casualties." There was, of course, another reason: Banni did, in the back of his mind, harbor a desire to see the body of Magorian before he is sent off. |

"I suppose your right." He continued to follow the centaur, occasionally glancing back at the other members of their party. Friendly, smiling Matthew; young, pretty, Taylor; and sneering, calculating Charles. Combined with himself and Bannishtar they compiled a formidable force of talent and ability. Nate still felt somewhat guilty of his earlier comment, deciding that now was as good a time as any to rectify his mistake. "Bannishtar," leaping over a fallen tree to join him, "About before, I'm sorry if I offended you with my comments about centaurs. Charles..." he glanced back at the man, his sunglasses still perched atop his face despite the overwhelming darkness. Nate lowered his voice so the man couldn't overhear, "He gets to me. I don't trust him and was just trying to get him in line. I have no doubt that your kind can defend themselves more than adequately, even against magic. Or how else would you have survived for as long as we have? Again, I apologise." |

Banni slowed his pace, noting that he could move faster than the his four human companions, and that he ought not lose them in this forest. "It is all right, Nate Aphelion," he said, "Perhaps it is I that should learn a bit about humility..." Though he would not say anything with Tortal so close, Banni shared Nate's suspicions about Charles. "And it is not much further now" Deeper they traveled into the dark forest, every once in a while hearing the odd noise or howl that made even Banni reach for an arrow, but they managed to move without incident as they neared the clearing where he knew a funeral pyre had by now been built. |

Julian and Addie entered the Forest. He drew his wand and lit the end, "Lumos," before setting off towards the place where he had witnessed Hellius kill Abaddon. It would take several minutes to reach the place, and Julian hoped they wouldn't encounter the Professors he had seen enter or they'd be lucky not to be expelled. The Forest was as dark and creepy as he had remembered but for the most part, Julian liked it. It made him feel alive! His heart pounding faster and harder than usual. After nearly ten minutes of walking they had neared the place. "Now, go look behind that tree. I'll wait here. Remember my promise." |

Addie scowled, trying to pull her hand out of the Slytherin boy's grasp as they entered the Forbiddon Forest. "You can't just drag me around with you, you know!" She commented, somewhat annoyed, glancing around warily. The Forest never gave her a good feeling. As they continued she lit her wand as well, gazing around and glancing to him every once in a while. What's he planning? He could do anything out here... No one would know... Stop it! Stop thinking like that.. Nothing's gonna happen... The girl bit down on her lip lightly, casting one last glance at Julian before tentatively making her way towards the tree... |

I really don't have a good feeling about this... She thought fearfully, slowly stepping around the tree and looking around. The sight that met her gaze was something she could have never expected. The girl stumbled backwards, quickly trying to get away from the sight. She bit back a scream, clamping her hands over her mouth quickly. Her heart was pounding, stomach churning. Fear and disgust were written all over her face, it was all she could feel at the moment. Fear so strong she felt sick. Addie continued backwards, shaking her head, trembling slightly, tears welling in her eyes. Abaddon. It can't... What happened... Dead, he's dead! She thought, walking straight back into Julian, trying to stop the tremors running through her body. "Wh-why did you show me that?" She asked, trying to steady her voice. |

His face was deadly serious, all trace of his pleasantness now vanished, "Just wanted to show how serious I am with the offer I made the other day. Either join me or I get the personw ho did this to perhaps do the same to Tristan. You don't want that to happen, do you?" He knew this time he would have her, and he was fully prepared to rub it in Tristan's smug face! |

Addie raised her hands to her face, wiping the tears away quickly, before turning to face him. "I despise you, Julian Kahn." She stated, trembling ever so slightly, taking a deep breath. "But.. I won't let that happen to Tristan... Fine. I'll agree to your stupid offer." I hate him! I hate him so much! He's making me hurt Tristan...And there's nothing, nothing I can do about it! |

Oh, what a genius he was! He had succeeded in removing one of Tristan's key players. Oh this victory was oh so sweet! "That a girl, now come with me! There are a few lovely people I'd like you to meet." He took her hand and led her back towards Hogwarts, eager to see the looks on all their faces when he walked in with Addie in tow. "But remember: one word of this to Tristan or anyone else and they get what is coming to them. You've been warned." Your move, Nightshade. Julian, and his lovely girlfriend Addie Lumineux, have left for Hogwarts to show everyone their intense desire for one another. |

Here came the hard part. She knew what was coming next. Julian was going to make her face Tristan, face all of her friends, and tell them she'd picked him. They'd all hate her, especially Tristan, after all, this was probably the cruelest thing she could do to him... Side with his enemy. Maybe Tris would realize the truth? That's what I desperately want to believe... But at the same time... I can't let him, because then he'd confront Julian, I know he would... I don't want Tris to die, I won't let that happen! Maybe this is better...? He'll probably go back to Riley now.. Yeah, maybe that's for the best... It's all for your sake Tristan, please, don't hate me... Addie glared down at the ground in defeat, trailing after Julian as he towed her from the Forest. |

Charles followed the other professors in tow through the forest. Through the darkness, the lit end of his cigar still pierced through the night-like atmosphere. Sighing and throwing the cigar to the ground, he tightened his fist and filtered the heat out of the the cigar so it went out. Having impulses to take his wand out for good measure, his hand danced back in forth as if he was twitching. Maybe it was from pure boredom, but as the wind brushed against the flesh of his hand, he was given nostalgic memories from earlier in his life that were either bad, or good. He wasn't sure. He yawned. Are we there yet? I find the forest boring... He had ignored the conspicuous chatting between Bannishtar and Nate. He didn't care what it was they were talking about... |

"We'd best stand here," said Banni, holding out his arm in front of his human companions, "They will have become aware of our presence by now, and it would be best if we allowed them to seek us out." They only had to wait a few moments, for soon there was a rustling of leaves and the thump of hooves, and out of the darkness came the blond palomino centaur, Firenze. Banni felt a bit of relief that it was he who had come to greet them (and not Bane or Ronin). He armed as Banni was. "You should not have come," he said, "But I understand why you have." He smiled a knowing smile. "We've known you were coming for a while now. That foul burning stick in the wizard's mouth is so pungent it gave away your position. We could have shot you all down from a mile away." And he moved towards the clearing, beckoning them. Banni followed, motioning for his companions to follow. When they reached the clearing, they were greeted by at least fifty centaurs, all were armed with bows and arrows. A centaur never goes anywhere unarmed. They all stood watching the group of humans and a lone centaur--some were curious, others furious, and still others were mourning for the lost. In the middle of the clearing was a great wooden funeral pyre, with the bodies of fallen comrades placed upon it, all with their bows at their sides. Magorian's body was clearly visible: He was at the head of the group of dead warriors. Banni's expression now matched that of the other mourners. But he was shaken from this state by the angry voice of the stony-faced Ronin: "So," snarled Ronin, "You return with yet MORE humans." Firenze spoke: "They just wish to speak to you, Ronin. That is--" "I know what they want. And the answer is NO," said Ronin, "I thought I made myself clear the last time." |

Charles followed after Bannishtar until they stopped in the clearing. Finally taking his sunglasses from his eyes and slipping them into his coat pocket, Charles looked with a gaze of endearment at this "Ronin" that was in charge of the centaurs. He was, as Charles saw it, completely ignorant and juvenile as a leader in all aspects. Dismissive, rules through tyranny, hot-tempered, .....annoying. Charles sighed, brought his right hand in front of his face, and began to snap his fingers absently. He focussed heat around that area and with the extra friction of the snap, the tip of his thumb ignited, showing a bright orange flame. He sighed and soon put it out, noting the reaction of the centaurs that could turn nasty. Dropping his hands to his sides and noting the cold air that increased the tenseness of his muscles, he blinked at Ronin and refused to take his eyes off him. Ronin, Charles spoke up in his deep voice that boomed. What makes you hate humans? What about our... culture or mindset do you find displeasing? We, at the school, have lived in harmony for ages with the centaurs of this forest generally without any sort of conflicts until now. Hogwarts... has nothing to do with the Ministry; not yet, anyways. Just because the idiots in our government find it necessary to do the most... retarded things doesn't mean that we're all going to follow their lead. Charles hid a smirk that was to edge across his face. He didn't care what the reaction of the centaur leader would be, but peaceful or not, he hoped it to be entertaining |

All the eyes of the herd were now on Ronin and his human challenger, Charles Tortal. There was, within that group, a murmur, though of agreement or disdain Banni could not tell. Perhaps there were mixed feelings withing the herd? Ronin's eyes narrowed at the calm, calculating Professor. The stone-faced centaur opened his mouth to speak. "That is exactly what I said more than ten years ago, Ronin," Banni interjected, stepping forward before Ronin could make another dismissive remark, "Not all of them wish us harm, it those few--" "Those few given power by the rest, you mean," said Ronin disdainfully as he took an authoritative step towards Banni, "Don't think us the unintelligent mules your kind often takes us for; we know how your Ministry works. Those in power are chosen by the rest of you. It isn't all that much different than the way the hierarchy of our herd works. That is, perhaps above all else, why we hate your kind: You hid behind the decisions of the powerful, you claim to hate what your leaders do, yet you do NOTHING about it, all the while you reap the benefits of what your kind has stolen from other races." He was practically preaching now, as if trying to convince even those of his own herd that what he said was right, "The wizard race is, as a whole, a race of liars and thieves--and those who are NOT liars are hypocrites and thieves!" Murmurs of agreement withing the herd seemed to overtake those of the skeptics. Banni shrank back slightly. Ronin was so much larger and more powerful than the exiled centaur. He was, indeed, one of the most powerfully built of his herd. In a time when his former herd seemed so angry, Banni could now see why Ronin had so much support now as leader--for that was how one became leader: support. It really wasn't all that much different from the ministry when one thinks about it. Suddenly, breaking the tension between the two, Bane, Banni's bearded cousin--who perhaps had as much dislike of humans as Ronin did--spoke softly, almost pleadingly: "We want no war with your kind," he said as he moved forward into the light cast by Banni's human companions, "We've only declared this land as our own; as we should have the right. Only leave us be, and there should be no cause for conflict." It was strange, as Banni looked directly into his cousin's dark eyes, that Bane seemed to harbor all the hate of humans that his friend Ronin did; and yet, he still seemed to have his wits about him, calmly stating his reasoning--whereas Ronin seemed almost childishly dismissive of anything said in humankind's defense. |
