| Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice |
| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Hellius floated into Professor Tortal's office, soon being followed by the professor himself. The room molded into a peaceful setting that had a look of the lake quite a distance away through a window and several different places to sit; including a recliner a shrink would use with his patients. Hellius was placed down onto the recliner and Charles sat in a chair across from him. He observed the boy with a great deal of interest... Amazing that he has the ability... Especially that one in particular. That just makes everything much better... |

"Hellius, in here, I am God. I control the weather. I control the mortality of people that enter this realm. In here, I am master - that includes you. Whether or not you choose to believe it, I can do anything." Hellius hissed and began to circle Flauros, wand drawn and ready to strike. The demon chuckled at him and waved his hand at the young man; his wand flew from his hand in an instant and landed far behind him. His eyes widening, Hellius scrambled backwards in attempt to reclaim his wand, but the distance away grew larger and larger as if he were in a bad dream. He never got any closer to his wand and the distance just grew further away. He gave up and fell to his stomach. "You see, you will be visiting my realm far more often now that I see you can take unmeasurable amounts of pain. You will need that ability to withstand the... things I will be doing to you for your own personal gain." "Lies!" A scorching pain grew across Hellius' left cheek and he released a groan. "You are weak! For me to save you at every little instant wastes my time!" Flauros yelled at him. "You will need to defend yourself, Hellius! I won't protect you every time you need protection!" The leech finished at that, and everything began to fade away slowly; Hellius was returned to reality. Waking up at last, Hellius sat up in a rush and released a yell of surprise. Looking around, he found himself in an unfamiliar room. Blinking in confusion, he looked and saw Professor Tortal just sitting there watching him. "Um... where am I?" |

My office, Mr. Surla. There are a few things I need to talk to you about, Charles hissed, judging whether between to tell him now, or save it for later. He personally wanted to tell Hellius while the girl with him was also present, but he had no idea where she was. Standing from his seat and turning to his desk, he started towards it and leaned over the surface while grabbing a piece of parchment and a quill. Writing down on the paper, he soon finished his writing and put away the quill. Retrieving his wand, Charles pointed it at the parchment and then watched as it folded up into a paper airplane and flew away. |

Nate was on the prowl in search of Charles Tortal, hoping that he could shed some light on the alarming news of the centaurs and red caps. Approaching his Office door, Nate stopped and knocked smartly three time. He hadn't had much interaction with Charles so far but the impression he had made of the man was that though extremely talented magically, there was a darker side than the one he presented. |

Come in! Charles called at the door as he rummaged through some loose papers all over his desk. Placing a few into envelopes, he looked to his wand and nodded with a bit of thought. Picking up the piece of wood, Professor Tortal conjured a tray with iced tea and 3 cups on it, and then swished and flicked his wand at it once again. The tea began to float, and then almost immediately, it hovered over to the area where the recliner and his chair was. Turning back to his chair, Charles walked over to it and then took a seat where he just was before getting up. There was an incident in the forest, was there not? He asked Hellius, smirking at him. |

Hellius raised his brow and finally remembered his cut. His eyes widening, he scrambled to look at it and noted that it was sealed by means of burns; as they were the night before. Falling back against the recliner, he recalled the words of the leech through his mind over and over. Flauros was right, but Hellius wouldn't be the one to admit his own faults; that would hurt his pride, and his pride was one of the few things that the young man had intact. Looking at Professor Tortal, he saw something in the man that impressed him past what other professors where capable of. He seemed dark and intelligent and released an aura that suggested wisdom beyond his years. Smirking, Hellius sat up and then glanced at the door as a knock was emitted from the hard surface. Shrugging, he dismissed it for a lack of interest. As Charles finally sat down, Hellius looked at him with interest; just to see what he had to say. As he heard his next words, the Gryffindor was a little taken back. How does he know? "I suppose. Red Caps are a bit... Ornery." |

Addie finally managed to find her way to professor Tortal's office, knocking on the door before peeking her head in. "You wanted to see me professor?" She asked, glancing to Hellius and the Professor, shutting the door behind her once more. |

Charles looked at Addie and nodded, making a motion to the recliner which Hellius was sitting upon. Quite, he sighed. Leaning back further into the seat, he took a deep breath. There is something I wanted to talk to you both about. Have a cup of tea if you wish, but there is an important matter to attend to. |

The girl nodded slighty, glancing to Hellius in confusion before having a seat and focusing on the professor. "Is it about the forest last night?" She asked hesitantly, hoping they weren't getting in trouble for going into the forest. |

Partially. While Hellius was knocked unconscious, I did some... searching through his mind, Charles said, glancing at him. I hope you don't mind, but it's beside the point. There was something that I saw that wasn't natural when it came right down to it. Addie - when your wand lit up to ward away the demon, and Hellius - when the red caps that attacked you were flung back by a dark entity. He paused and looked towards the door again. Shrugging, he continued. Do you remember my lesson in Element Controlling? |

There were 3 other elements that weren't demonstrated inside the room because I didn't believe that anyone would be capable of controlling them, Charles hissed, beginning to twirl his thumbs. Those three were molecules, light, and shadows. He glanced between the two and nodded blankly. What I saw in Hellius' mind suggested that both of you could control... one of those elements. |

Hearing Charles call him in, Nate turned the knob gently, pushing open the door and stepping inside. Casting his eyes about the transformed office, Nate got the distinct impression of being inside a muggle psychiatrist's office, a deeply disconcerting feeling. He also noticed young Mr Surla and Ms Lumineux, two Gryffindors he knew whose names would long be remembered by wizard kind in some capacity or other. Giving the pair a nod of recognition, he locked eyes with Charles. There was something about the man that reminded Nate very much of himself, yet slightly warped. Charles Tortal had secrets, that much he knew. "I'm sorry to disturb you Charles, but we need to talk. Professor Concordus made an announcement at Breakfast to which I was unaware of. I was hoping you could fill me in on the latest." Nate used the Professor's proper title since students were present, not feeling it appropriate to call him 'Matthew'. |

Charles nodded and made a motion to the floating tray with iced tea. Knowing that Nate probably wasn't here for simple chitchat, he took advantage of the few moments that he was able to be patronizing. Of course, he agreed, pushing himself out of his seat. Glancing at the two students, he dismissed them for the moment and turned his entire attention to Professor Aphelion. Apparently, there is something troubling the red cap populous in the forest. As I learned from dear Mr. Surla, Charles glanced at him. There was a massive stampede last night, and the boy had a run in with a couple of them; so explains his wounds. He knew that dark magic had been used recently by the boy, and by another student his age. Charles tried to hide this at all costs... for the moment. |

The fact that Mr Surla was in the Forest when he shouldn't have been was the least of his concerns at present; Mr Surla had shown himself to often be adverse to following the rules and now was not the time to bother with that particular issue. The Red Caps was, however, quite serious. How many red caps are we talking about? And why would they suddenly revolt? They have been held in check for centuries - why now? Red Caps were not particularly dangerous by themselves, but large numbers could overwhelm a wizard with simple numbers. |

"Addie and I hid away before the red caps actually got to us. From what we heard and felt, there was at least... a hundred. There was so much noise that we couldn't hear anything besides the footsteps of the damned beasts," Hellius spoke up, trading glances between the two professors. "Five of them stayed behind... and I dealt with them." Rubbing at the back of his head, the Gryffindor felt a slight bead of sweat begin to drip down his neck. |

Nate listened intently, a grave expression on his face. If what you say is true, Mr Surla, you are very lucky to be alive. There would have been no chance of you defeating over one hundred of the creatures, despite your level of skill. Nate began to pace, pondering the situation. Don't the centaurs usually keep the Red Cap population in check? Why did they allow this herd to move so close to the Grounds? |

"Right before the stampede happened, there was some sort of giant screech that broke through the night. We're not sure what it was, but it could've been possible that the red caps were fleeing whatever it was," Hellius added, leaning back and against his arms. |

Nodding in agreement, Nate pointed his wand at the closed office door, picturing that perfect day he had shared with Adelina the previous year. His Patronus burst from the tip of his wand, shooting through the solid wood and seeking out Matthew to join them. He should be here momentarily, striding over to the window in a vain attempt to escape the confines of the room. Perhaps it was traces of Charles' magic, but the room had a distinctly unsettling feeling to it. As if hoping to extinguish the vibe, Nate shot Charles a piercing stare, What are you hiding? |
