Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Kidnapped!

Tristan straight away felt the pencil being poked through his hand and looked down to spot Ben trying to secretly do so. He gave the boy a confused look before offering the pencil back, not quite sure what he was trying to do but failing to see the point where it would result in something humourous. He shook his head sadly, "Ben I think you've got some issues," Tristan said with mock pity.

OOC - Yeah that was kinda pointless..... :)

Damien swaggered into the classroom, not letting his surprise show as he found himself in what appeared to be the Forest. Taking a seat on the grassy ground, he leaned back against a tree and just observed the sky, not bothering to get out parchment or textbooks. At least I can get some thinking done here. Divination...what a joke! His father had consistently ridiculed the subject when he was growing up, belieivng it to be a waste of time. Damien tended to agree.

Julian followed after Damien and sat beside him, casting a dismissive sneer about the 'classroom'. "I can't believe they make us take this useless class. What a waste of time," he muttered to Damien under his breath. He didn't care whether the so-called Professor heard him; the thing couldn't even do magic so what sort of threat did it pose?

Damien nodded slightly in agreement, hoping nobody saw him do so. He had always felt that he was in control of his own destiny and to believe that it was predetermined was just stupid! Nobody, not any living person nor any higher power, knew whether he was going to suddenly strike down a classmate, nor whether he would suddenly scream expletives at someone. Damien Letoya controlled his own life and nobody knew what he would do next.

Julian considered starting something purely to piss everyone off but he just didn't have the energy after the little saga in Charms. He decided to take a different tact in this class by raising his hand, "Excuse me, Professor," the heavy sarcasm was obvious on the word 'Professor', "But why are we learning these pointless methods that don't even work? And aren't they supposed to be sacred to centaur-kind? Won't you be even more hated by them by teaching us all this crap?" Julian savored the fact that he would receive shocked looks from his classmates and hopefully make the centaur feel even worse about his situation. All things exist to be ridiculed and demeaned by me.

Riley had arrived in time to hear Julian's snide comments to their Professor, surprising herself by agreeing slightly! Though of course she didn't let it show, not enjoying the idea that she and Julian agreed on anything. Still, she couldn't deny she thought he was cute whatever she thought of his personality and morals, a constant cause for teenage angst. ( :) hehe 'teenage angst!')

She sat down beside Ella, mouthing 'Hi' and pulling out her books in an attempt to appear interested. Though for the most part she believed it all to be a bunch of tripe; Riley was far too mundane and grounded to ever believe this sort of thing possible. She noticed with a grin that Tristan was surrounded by girls and he seemed to be trying to simultaneously flirt with everyone of them. He hoped though that he wouldn't do anything stupid to jeopardize Addie and him. Riley made a mental note to remind of that later.

Garrett looked at Ben, amused at his silliness. He shook his head and looked at those entering. Lot more now.... He coughed and looked at them. There was a Ravenclaw, who looked like she was actually really smart, two Slytherins, both seeming rude and malicious. He had seen one of them before, and heard him in Charms. He didn't say anything to him, though. A Gryffindor, who right now, Garrett had no idea about her whatsoever.

It was still early, and Garrett was still tired. He couldn't come up with anything to do because he had finished his work. He didn't want to show off either, because he didn't want to seem eager. He quietly and laxly sat back and pulled out a book. Dracula by Bram Stoker. Amusing book. It had things that were completely untrue about Vampires. In any sense, though, it was a good book.

Tales of vampires have long haunted folklore and literature, but none has had the same impact as Bram Stoker's 'Dracula'. Since the book's publication in the late 19th century, the blood-sucking Count has been seized on as the ultimate vampire, encountered by children of all ages in innumerable books, films, and television shows. He looked at the review on the back.

Hmmm... interesting... Garrett thought.

Fera Collis

Fera, who had never seen the solar system or anything just drew the skies above, with her quill. She used her thumb to measure exact and she was proud of the outcome. She turned to Julian, "Honestly, Centaurs are proud but they don't worship these methods. How do you know that the metods don't work anyway?" Fera continued on her drawing.

Natalie, lost in her own world, had progressed far beyond drawing the planets and was now doodling little caricatures of her classmates.

When Julian came in and spoke rudely to the professor she grinned to herself and drew a picture of Julian being kicked in his..... well, you know, by the centaur. She passed the sketch to Ella and gestured for her to pass it around the room.

Then, the new girl Fera spoke up and confronted Julian. To be honest, she felt a little bit indignant on Julian's behalf. Who was this new girl, a Gryffindor, to butt in on a conversation he was having with their professor.

"Listen, small fry" she said to the girl, "Leave this between Jules and the horse okay?"

She said it in her usual joking manner, but with a hint of a warning in her voice.

"Fought have you? Alright then shrimp, its your funeral. Literally."

Nat shrugged; if the girl was going to talk back, she would get into trouble for it eventually.

"Funeral? I'm going to die am I? Same for me, no-one will miss me." Fera turned away and finished her drawing. She had to control herself better. God, why need these Hormones. I'm moody today, I should lock myself up in the Towers so I don't hurt anyone.

After being handed back the pencils, Ben's brain had switched back onto serious mode. He watched as Julian and his now obvious new friend, whom had acted nice to Ben and his friends at breakfast, Damien entered the room and insulted Banni's teachings.

A few moments later, Fera the girl he had caused to go mental in the previous lesson, Charms, have a nag back at his long time Slytherin nemesis, causing Julian's fellow Slytherin Nat, who seemed to be nice...then nasty, to start a small argument between the two.

"Here we go again" he muttered.

((OOC: Ben - I love your posts - when I'm in a hurry, I just have to read yours to get a quick sum up :P))

Savannah was supprised someone would have the nerve to insult the professor - someone with such high authority. She waited, wondering what his response would be.

Fera decided to try not to respond in a rude way for the rest of the day, or at least ignore every remark that normally would tick her off. She turned to Savannah, "Savannah, I'll recommend that you don't see this way, I have to change the robe thing so the blood doesn't go all hard and sticks it to my arm. I hope it's okay Banni, but I have to change it here and now." She then took a deep breath and tied up the ripped off piece of cloth rapped around her arm.

She gave a yelp of pain but bit her tongue to stop the sound. She pressed her arm against the sore and went over to the pond and dipped the cloth quickly in it. Being careful not to spill any blood on the ground or in the pond, Fera twisted the cloth over her own robes to get rid of most moisture and started washing the sore a bit.

When she was done washing away the blood, she noticed that it had stopped bleeding. One could clearly see the sharp, jagged bitemarks from yesterday. Fera retied the cloth over her arm only to be sure.

OOC: If anyone wonders Fera's right-handed when writing, left-handed when drawing and doing magic.

"I dont know," Callie said, in reply to Ben. "I was never told anything about my family. All I know about my parents is that they have work to do... and I dont know their names. Ive never even seen them. I suppose I shouldnt be suprised to find out that theres other things that Ive been lied to about, and things that have been kept from me." she found it strange that Bens parents had kept things from him too.. did they have a reason? Or was it just that they hadnt thought to tell him?

Callie noticed an argument starting between a Slytherin girl, and a Griffindor she recodnised as the girl who had stormed out of charms. She frowned slightly as she watched them; it looked like they were going to start something, but right now all the bad smack talk was just plain annoying... but then the red head turned away, and Callie smiled as she realised she wasnt going to continue it. She raised her eyebrow slightly as she ripped off a bandage. Could it not have waited? She shrugged slightly to herself, and went back to her drawing.

"That is alright, Miss Collis," said Banni, waving his hand as if to halt Fera, "There is no need for you to entangle yourself in this altercation--I daresay you've done that enough for now" he said to her with a slight smile. Outwardly, the centaur was unfazed by the Slytherin named Julian's remarks--however, his insides were burning with the old centaur pride.

The usual self-serving vanity of wizards, he thought.

"And there is no need to call me 'Professor'," he said to Julian with a bit of cheek, "We centaur do not believe in given titles. You may call me by my given name." Banni chose not to address the boy's comments, for he was sure he'd just dismiss whatever the proud centaur had to say on the matter, and that any argument would only further agitate the boy. Perhaps he shouldn't judge so quickly, but it was what he had heard from the elders of his herd all his life: Wizards are obstinate and vain. They care little for the fortune of other races.

Banni, however, did not believe this for the most part. Certainly Fera, Ben, and Ella were examples of decent wizards. He liked them. However, this Julian Kahn seemed to embody the very view of wizards Banni's kind had held for centuries.

As he smiled at the Slytherin boy, he noticed out of the corner of his eye another Slytherin girl passing a piece of paper to Ella. He moved over to where they were sitting and said calmly, "I am very permissive and as you can see I have allowed you all to talk freely to one another. SO," he said as he snatched up the parchment. "I can only assume that what is written here is something you do not wish to be HEARD freely."

Banni examined the parchment. A half-finished star-chart accompanied by all sorts of drawings. He noticed the one of himself apparently kicking the boy he'd just had an 'argument' with.

"Did you do this?" he asked sternly of the Slytherin girl who had passed the note. Banni could not help but look at her in a deploring manner for the fact that she had very finely made clothing; in fact, there was a noticeable difference between those who were more fortunate than others: The Slytherin boy in the cast, Julian, a couple of Ravenclaws, and this girl all had on finely made robes, while many of the others' clothing seemed like rags in comparison. Banni thought this alone to be a disgrace, for centaurs had no distinction between rich and poor. In the forest, there was only strength. He noted also that this girl considered her clothing a top priority not to be soiled. Oh to put so much stock in what is merely material! Is this why these humans thought themselves a race above all others? Deplorable!

"Yeah" said Nat with a cheeky smile.

"It's just a picture of you kicking ass professor. Its a compliment honestly."

She gave him her most winning grin and changed the subject, hoping he'd forget the whole episode.

" While we're chatting, may I ask you a question? I read in the daily prophet that two of Saturn's moons are in danger of hitting one another. Does that have any implications in Astrology?"

Banni's stern disposition did not waver. However, when she seemed to actually take an interest in his subject, Banni answered calmly and informatively, "Well," he said, "It could mean many things. Saturn is an embodiment of Time and the brining of order from chaos, so such a chaotic event seems very curious, does it not? It could mean something as dreadful as the breaking down of order in the world, or it could mean perhaps--because the moons merely follow a course determined by the pull of other bodies--that," and he said this with a knowing undertone, thinking of the centaurs now revolting against the wizards, "that the order which has been imposed on the world is about to reach its natural, chaotic end," the centaur smiled and said:

"But then again it takes years for a centaur to understand what he has seen in the stars. We will learn how to add clarification to our stargazing through the art of "scrying" tomorrow. For now, finish up your star-charts and lay them on the stump over there for me to look at later."

"And Miss...McIntire, is it?" he said, reverting to his stern tone as he let her have her parchment back, "should you, or anyone," he began to say aloud so the class could hear, "show such disrespect again to me, or to any of your classmates in my classroom," he warned with regards to the drawing of him kicking Julian, "they will most undoubtedly find themselves out on the grounds helping me to treat the school's hippogriff herd for chizpurfle infestations. And I warn you," he now said with a wry smile, "they take worse to disrespect than I do."

"Now everyone," he began, changing the subject, "We've got quite a bit more time together, so I want you to keep working on your charts and be sure to ask me if you have any questions. You've all done wonderfully today,"--mostly he thought with regards to Julian and Natalie--"And it is my hope that we can continue this smoothly tomorrow."

Ben sent Banni a smile as he correctly delt with Julian, he always liked it when a Professor, or in this case a teacher as he would now refer to him as, easily replied to stupid insults and accusations.

He turned his attention back to Callie, "Nope, I never got told anything, maybe the whole squib thing has something to do with it, but anyway, So you have no idea whom your parents may be?"

But before Callie could answer Banni had joined the group of him and his friends, which still included Nat, which Ben was still not sure on himself, whether she was a good or bad Slytherin, the other seemed to like her, so he followed along with that.

"Ah, Banni, I need to ask you something, It's about the forest" he said quietly to the centaur.
