| Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice |
| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. ![]() Banni entered the room, savoring the change of the sound of his footsteps as he stepped on to what appeared to be earth and foliage. Above him trees towered to the high ceiling, and covered the vast majority of the classroom except for a small clearing, at the edge of which was a charming pond. It was dark for the most part, as it was made to simulate the forbidden forest, his long forsaken home. The only light came from what seemed to be billions and billions of twinkling lights overhead, along with which were many large round bodies moving throughout the dark space. The ceiling had an enchantment similar to the one on the ceiling in the Great Hall, only this one showed not the sky outside, but the stars and planets of the heavens. The centaur beckoned his students towards the clearing. "Sit down over here please," he said, "and we will begin our lesson." |

Garrett entered what seemed to be the Divination classroom and took a seat with his books and sack on the floor next to him. He looked at the Professor, eager for the lesson to start. |

Fera entered and sat down. She didn't sit for long as her eyes caught the skies. She laid herself on her back and let her eyes twinkle along with the stars. "I can see mars!" Fera loved this classroom. If only there was a wolf she could pet there... |

Ella walked into the classroom, her eyes wide as she looked around. She thought for a moment that she had somehow ended up in the forrest-not a comforting thought, all things considered- but realized after a moment that it must be some sort of spell. After the announcent at breakfast and everything that she had heard about or seen yesterday, Ella doubted that the professors would allow students within twenty feet of the trees... She sat down and set her bag on the ground beside her, all the while looking around the strange classroom. |

Savannah marvelled at the sight of the new class room. It was so enchanting. She stopped to listen to the soft chirping of crickets and the calls of some distant birds. She made a mental note, to ask the professor if she could study here on her free time - the room was so peaceful! Quietly and quickly, Savannah made her way over to the pond and took a seat near it for the lesson. |

As his class settled themselves on the magically created forest floor, Banni began to speak. "Welcome to Divination," said Banni calmly, "My name is Bannishtar and I am centaur formerly of the herd which currently resides withing the forest you know as 'The Forbidden Forest', and I am glad to share the knowledge of my people with those of another race. Perhaps, if you are to learn anything from my lessons, then it will be a greater understanding and tolerance for other races. That is my wish. "Now as we begin your lessons in Divination, I would like to point out that this is nothing like that which any human seer might have taught you. What has become to be known by your race as Mundane Astrology seeks not to 'pierce the veil of the mundane', and many human seers would tell you, but to look AT the mundane, at the stars and the heavenly bodies--at that which is REAL; for all is connected, and the even the most seemingly minor occurances in the world tell part of the story of the fortune of both our races. "Now," said the centaur, raising his hand to the sky, "You have learned in Astronomy how to map the movements of the heavenly bodies. This will serve you well here. Can anyone tell me what this planet is and its moons, if any?" he asked, pointing to a small red planet, "And this one and its moons--again, if any?" now pointing to a small blue one at the edge of the solar system model, "And...this one?" he now pointed towards the planet closest to sun. "Bonus points if you can correctly guess what these planetary bodies mean to mundane astrology." |

Garrett raised his hand. "The one closest to the sun is Mercury, and it has no moons, known currently. The blue planet is Pluto, and its moon is Charon!" He smiled. |

Fera's hand shot into the air, "The red planet is Mars, it stands for war. It has two moons, Phobos, fright and Deimos, Terror. The day my parents died, the same day as I was found and accepted into the Closter of Lupus. I was found under Mars and Phobos and Deimos were overlapping eachother. Which I think might mean that it was a day of War, Fright and Terror. It was for me." |

Garrett looked at the planet pointed to again. "That could also be Neptune, and its moons, 13 of them, are Naiad, Thalassa, Despina, Galatea, Larissa, Proteus, Triton, Nereid, S/2002's 1, 2, 3, and 4, and S/2003 1!" He said, exhausted. "Oh, and sorry about that, Fera. I didn't know...." he bowed his head and sighed. |

Ben crept into the classroom he was shocked to see it was like a replica of the forest he and Ella had encountered trouble in the day before. He sat down in the clearing towards the back and began to listen to the conversation which was already going on, it seemed to be about Muggle planets, which being Muggle-born could help him on. He also awaited for Callie, whom he was still shocked over as they had found them to be cousins. |

"Sorry? For what? You didn't kill them, they died in a fire. I survived. Sometimes, I wish I didn't." Fera looked straight forward, at Banni. "How were your parents Banni? |

"I'm just saying, Fera. I'm sorry that they died. It seems like my fault, somehow...." Garrett said quietly. He looked around the classroom and then at the "sky". There was so much in here, and he couldn't believe they could bewitch the room to stay like this. It was amazing. |

Callie walked in quietly after Ben, as class had already started. She smiled nervously at him, before turning her attention to the class. The teacher was a centaur... this suprised her slightly, but then again who could be a better Divination teacher? She sat down on the ground, which suprised her much more then the teacher did. The ground was grassy and covered in leaves... though she knew they were inside, it could have fooled her. It looked like they were in the middle of the forest. She looked up, at where everyone else in the class was looking, and saw stars and planets... it really was beautiful. |

Beau hurried into the room, confused both by the schedule and having woken up late. She muttered a hurried apology and took a seat. Hopefully I can copy someone's notes. she said as she realized that the classroom was decorated like a forest, thus, not having a chalkboard. |

"We'll talk more about the whole family thing later" Ben wispered to Callie as she joined him, "We can't afford to miss more" he joked before turning his attention back to the front. To his shock, he saw Banni teaching the lesson, the centaur whom had saved him and Ella from the threat of a Gytrash. But his presence was a great joy to Ben, as he had a great opinion of him from that. |

"Everybody dies, so you shouldn't be sorry. How the heck can you have the fault? Unless you know how to throw Fiendfyre and is a hidden Pyroman?" Fera stopped slightly. She couldn't remind hearing the word Fiendfyre before. A mans yell filled her head, 'Fiendfyre!' Thats were she had it from... The mans voice... |

Callie nodded, "Yeh, this sounds interesting," she wispered back. When she tuned in to the talk going on around her she realised the girl who had stormed past her on her way out of charms was talking... apparently about her parents who had died in a fire. She frowned slightly; a girl she hardly knew talking about her parents deaths made her uncomfortable, not least because it wasnt really the time. For once, she focused intently on the teacher. |

He turned to to the Ravenclaw boy that had so eagerly answered the questions, "Yes. That is correct. Mercury is the bringer of fortune, and Pluto is sign of, ironically, both death and abundance. Is it not true that when one has much, the other suffers? "Well, in any case, Ten points to Ravenclaw. And though I WAS referring to Pluto, regardless of what modern human stargazers have concluded, I will award you another 3 points for your information about Neptune being correct, I suppose. Though most of its moons are unknown to my kind, and are insignificant to divination, Neptune is associated with deception and illusion." To Fera he said, "That is also correct. Mars is the bringer of war, which is always accompanied by fright and terror. It is perhaps one of the most significant of the heavenly bodies to discovering the future of our world, for war is a constant occourance in the history of all races. Seven points to Gryffindor. When Fera asked of Banni's parents, the centaur spoke calmly and plainly, "My mother and father, like the rest of my herd, wants nothing to do with me at the moment," his calm demeanor, however, faltered for a moment. The sadness in his voice managing to peak through, "I do not fault them, however, for I had been the one to forsake what was taught to me, and if they did not shun me as the other do they too would be shunned." The centaur straightened up. "For many years now," said Banni, "Mars has been growing steadily brighter. War may once again dawn on the world. How long until this happens I do not know. It takes even centaurs many years to truly understand what they are reading in the heavens. It is through the burning of sage and mallowseet that we scry a better understanding of our predictions, but I'm afraid we would not have the time to go into a deep discussion of that process today. What I would like you all to do is what you've all had experience doing in Astronomy class: and that is to draw and label the planets and their moons. It is alright if you do not finish, just draw what you see. If there is anything you would like to ask me concerning the lesson, feel free to discuss it with myself and the rest of the class as you work." |

Beau grumbled, I hate drawing, maybe because I'm so friggin bad at it! But nvertheless, she took out a piece of parchment, and began to draw. Fed up with imperfect circles, she took to doodling absent-mindedly. |
