| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Tristan nodded glumly, "Yeah, fine. He just got to me is all." He didn't want to go into how he had begged for his wand, even though the person he felt the most comfortable with was Riley; he'd feel weak, a feeling he didn't like at all. |

Kelly hadn't stopped the situation, she couldn't help but see how it evolved. Now she remembered that she was the teacher and was responsible. She gritted her teeth and said loudly, "Julian Kahn," she rechecked her papers to see if the name was right. Which it was. "I do not like offensive spells being used in my class, unless I myself has given rights to it. You are to write a essay on why its wrong to attack your classmates, three peices of parchment. Be happy that I'm nice this time, I normally have much stricter punishments than this." She turned to the Ravenclaw boy, "Now I want you two boys to say sorry to eachother. Mister... Nightshade, is that it? I do not think harrasing nicknames is correct, even though it is often very tempting." Kelly's eyes were strict. |

The sudden voice of the Professor caused his attention to snap up from what he was doing and pierce her eyes with a stare. He considered telling her to go to hell but decided it would only make Julie's victory more complete. "Yeah alright. Sorry Kahn." He meant none of the words he spoke but knew that if he said 'Julian' again he'd be too tempted to repeat his nickname; 'Kahn' was safer in that respect. Pffft, sorry! Good one, Miss! He once again ignored Julian and resumed his practice of the Summoning Charm - he was getting quite good. |

Tristan tried to speak as calmly and sensibly as possible to avoid sending the Professor off her block again, "I'm sorry, Professor, but the reason for it is I am not sorry. I was doing as you asked, practising the charm when he disarmed me with no provocation and then immobolized me. I think I'm entitled to call him 'Julie', a fairly minor insult in the grand scheme of things, since he attacked me and RIley for no reason. That hardly seems fair to me." Tristan did not raise his voice, did not shout, did not rant and rave, but calmly laid bare his opinion, hoping the Professor, despite being a former Slytherin, would understand and react accordingly. The Ravenclaw within strikes again. |

John sat next to Tris and could not believe his ears. Tristan was talking back to the teacher. John was wondering whether it was the same Tristan that had been embarrassed to be seen with John when John spoke back at the teacher. This included his bitter argument with Adelina Belmonte, the old potions mistress. "Tris, it's not worth it mate" John whispered to him. |

OOC: the first paragraph wasn't said out loud. BIC: "Tris, this isn't about right or wrong. It never is, you reckon because you're right it's going to change her mind. Not a chance. It'll just end up with you in more trouble then you started with. Like I said before, it isn't worth it. Teachers are to stubborn" John hissed again glancing back and forth between the teacher and Tristan. |

"I can not say you're wrong, but I do dislike nicknames very much. Remember that Kahn here is getting his punishment, and although it is a very light punishment, you must remember that I keep records on every one of you and for the next thing that is done wrong, I will not be as tolerant. Now, to the point, 'Julie' might seem minor to you, but to one who puts pride highly, and might look at girls as weaker or more infernior," She turned to the girl, "Do not take offence, you're probably much better than most of the boys in many things." She turned back to the boy, "Then it would be a highly insulting remark. I know what I'm talking about." |

He threw his hands in the air, "Fine. You win. Julian I truly am sorry for getting in the way of your practise of the Summoning Charm. I shouldn't have responded." He placed every ounce of sincerity he possessed into it just to be rid of the pointless conversation he could not win. He flashed John a quick glance, muttering out the side of his mouth, a small grin playing his lips, "You were right. First time for everything I suppose." |

Addie had entered the class earlier, setting her things down by Tristan. She'd focused intently on the spell with no success, until the fight broke out, which she paused to watch. Addie visibly looked disgusted at the mention of girls being inferior. "Well he shouldn't think of girls as inferior to begin with, becaused they're not." Addie commented, fuming silently until a paper airplane flew through the door and landed on her desk. She blinked and unfolded it, reading the note. "Er, Professor, I have to go see Professor Tortal." She commented, holding the note out for the professor and packing up her things. "Tris, I need to talk to you about something, make sure you remind me, alright?" She whispered to him before heading out of the classroom. ooc|| Sorry for being a hassle... But no, I still don't see the logic in that. Saying the name of the object would make it easier, because you're specifying the object you want. Frankly, Accio doesn't work like that. Spreading out and finding the closest object you specify? That isn't true. If someone said accio broom, then in theory the closest broom would come to them, generally they mean their own broom, and even if it's further away, that's the broom that will come. You have to specify the object aloud, and in thought. Also, I think channeling magic in a straight line would be harder; more self control needed. Like I said, sorry for being annoying, but I make it known when I disagree. |

Garrett entered the Charms classroom and looked around. He scoffed and took a seat on his own. He flipped his hair and looked at Tristan. He had heard the ruckus from the hall. "You okay?" he said. He then looked at the Slytherin. That guy's crazy, I don't want to upset him. He looked at the board and then at the feather on his desk. He pronounced the spell the way it was supposed to be pronounced, but he did not have his thoughts on the object coming into his hand. "Accio," he said boredly. It didn't move. No surprise. "Accio. Accio." he said it twice more. It budged, but didn't move. Concentrate. Concentrate on the feather. Envision it in your hand. Concentrate. Okay. I can do this. "Accio." he said, a bit louder this time, but not much louder than normal. The feather flew about a half-inch off the ground, but not much higher. He was now frustrated. He looked around the class, seeing the piles of discarded items on Tristan's desk and the smoldering ash on the Slytherins. Garrett was enraged. He should have gotten it by now! He pointed his wand at the feather and said, loud so he could actually hear himself, "Accio." It floated, lingered for a moment, came towards him slowly, and dropped on the desk, a simple quarter-inch from the desk. He pushed it to the far corner and said once more. "Accio." This time it got up to eye-level, but dropped suddenly. I can't get the hang of this! Damn! Garrett began to huff and breathe quick and heavily. Calm, calm. He thought. Just concentrate. Remember the feather, burn it into your mind. "Accio." he said plainly, with the feather deep in his head, the only thing on his mind. The feather floated and landed squarely in the palm of his hand. "I did it!" he whispered to himself. "I did it!" He laughed silently. He pointed at a feather across the room. "Accio." The feather floated to the center of the room and dropped. I guess it only works from a set distance, well, right now, I guess. He pointed his wand at it again, "Accio." he said quietly. It landed again in his palm. He smiled brightly. It only takes a few tries! He looked around the class again.... |

Kelly sighed, "I did not say that girls were inferior, only that they are believed to be so by different people. Mostly the same people who also have racistical meanings against Muggleborns, other skin-tones, and such. I believe that both sexes are equal and that this is a pointless thing to discuss at the moment." Kelly wrote down some more notes and really wanted just to stun the, most probably over-hormonic, lot and go. Still, she couldn't, seeing as that wasn't what a teacher did. Kelly hated that these people were making issuses of her every word. OOC||How can anyone of us be sure? Now... let me show my version in a different way. Think of a person. He/she wants a feather (Unrealistic, I know.) If he/she points at a specific feather and says, "I want that thing." Then one person can easily go get the feather for him/her. Now, if he/she said, "I want a feather." Then more people would be needed to search around the area after the closest possible feather. To go even more in detail, if he/she said, "I want MY feather." Then the people wouldn't know exactly were to go, but have a sort of faint idea. A couple people is needed to get the feather, but not to many. Is that more logical? |

OOC: Honestly, no, I don't think that is more logical. I think that your explanation makes it all the more difficult. And because of the difficulty of the search where more people are needed, than the spell would be much much more complexicated (talking about Accio here) than if normal. E.G. "Accio" and a feather comes. okay, cool. "Accio Feather." and a feather comes. cool. "Accio MY Feather" and another feather comes. not so cool. I think you need to have the image fairly implanted in your head before doing such. Again, my character is not stating as so, but this explanation, in my right, is much easier rather than complex. BIC: Garrett looked at his wand. He then looked at a feather across the room. If I used enough will, I bet I could get that feather with one casting of the spell. He surged all in his being and pointed his wand straight at the feather. "Accio." he said powerfully, and the feather fluttered over, unsteadily, onto his desk. He smiled and pointed his wand at a feather on the desk opposite his. He was going to try to do the spell without saying the incantation. Accio. he thought in his mind. Accio... Accio feather? He stared at the feather and said again, without actually saying the incantation Accio. The feather stayed in place. He thought it had moved for a second, but it was the breeze from the open window. Damn. he thought. He couldn't get it to come over. He looked at the 3 feathers on his desk. He picked them up lazily, after putting his wand in its holster, and stacked them on top of each other. He smiled and blew them and they dropped down to the floor. Wow.... Beautiful. |

Ella rushed into Charms quite late, angry at herself for making a stupid mistake like reading her timetable wrong. She apologized to the new professor-honestly, it was hard to tell who would be teaching any class on any given day- and sat down. She read over the notes hurridly and then pulled out her wand, wanting to make up for the time she had lost while going to the completly wrong class... It took her several tries to get the spare quill her was using to move. This frustrated her immensly-she had never had any problems in this class before. However, after minutes of grumblings and cursing under her breath at every failure, the pen flew, albit a little haltingly, towards her when she cast the charm. Her success drove away all feelings of frustration almost instantly and she began summoning other things from her bag, the objects responding quicker and flying through the air quicker each time. |

Garrett looked at the hassling Slytherin. He chuckled. "Calm down. You aren't that late, I mean I just got here!" He smiled and returned to his work, pulling his wand again from his holster and pointing at his rucksack. "Accio." he said calmly, and the sack jumped into his right hand. He winced at the weight of the sack. Seeing no point in holding it, he placed it on the ground by his seat. He raised his hand solemnly. "Professor Roberts? The board mentions a harder version of the charm. I'd like to know what it is, please!" He smiled. He then looked at his wand and then at his sack. He pulled out a piece of parchment and crumpled it up. He threw it across the room. I hope I can get this to work. "Accio!" he said. He was trying to get it to work by catching the object in the air, and it coming towards him. It drifted towards him and fell to the floor. Gaah.... Garrett walked over to the parchment and picked it up. When he passed Tristan he greeted him with a small "Hello." and went back to his desk with the parchment. He began to mutter the charm a few times, pointing at useless items around the room and bringing them to him as he waited for Professor Roberts' reply. He had collected a wide array of things. From pieces of parchment to wrappers, from feathers to candies, and even the occasional bug. |

Tristan looked curiously at Addie as she left the room, wondering what could be the matter. The thought crossed his mind that maybe she wasn't interested in him anymore; after all they hadn't spent as much time together as they used to. Still, he hoped it was nothing like that. He checked his watch, preying for the lesson to end. |

Garrett looked at the assorted items on his desk. He pointed at them. "Expulso." he said plainly. The items were pushed back in mid-air and scattered. He grinned softly. The items fell on the floor all around the classroom. There was nothing to do now that he had done the spell. He pointed his wand at the teachers chalkboard. "Heh... Accio." he said, trying to get the board to roll to his desk. It didn't move. Thank God! he thought. I definitely did not want that thing to come here! I would have been crushed! He smirked. Putting his wand in its holster, he put his head down on the desk and thought about his mum and dad. Mum. I miss you. Sorry you had to pass. I'm thinking of you constantly. I love you so much, and I didn't want to lose you. And Dad. I love you, I really do. Even though I do not say it much, I really really love you. I don't want to lose you either. Thanks for sending me to Hogwarts, rather, allowing me to come to Hogwarts. I really miss you, and I'm really sorry about Mum. He sighed and coughed. He couldn't get over his mother's death. After all, he hadn't been around death ever in his life. He sniffed and wiped a soft tear from his face. He grinned slightly. Cheer up, Garrett. Its okay. You aren't alone. You've got your friends. Don't be sad! Its alright! He smiled and looked at Tristan and the others. He couldn't help but feel grateful now. He had friends that he could count on. Another small tear dripped down his face, and this time, he let it flow. This wasn't a sad tear. It was a tear of joy. He smiled and closed his eyes, the overflowing bag under his eye pouring out a few more. |

Ben limped into the room on his crutches. After going all the way to Potions akwardly with the crutches, he had relised that for the first time in his student career in the school, he had got his timetable incorrect. He had to use the unsual method again on crutches to get up to charms from the dungeons. Noticing the room's mood was not at it's best he raised an eyebrow before crutching over to Ella and taking a seat beside her. He looked around, Tristan his friend looked unsually distressed by something so he spoke out loud, "Eh whats happened in here?" he asked to anyone whom may be listening. |
