Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? Today you are to learn the Summoning Spell. The word(s) used are Accio ([Pronounced A-see-oh]). Accio~The Summoning Charm. Latin for Summon/Send to. Can be used in two ways, one easy one and one harder way. The easy one is done by pointing your wand at the item wished and saying the charms. (The hard one will be taught later.) Please note down. Do not be scared to ask questions. She read over her notes to check if they were okay. Seeing no mistakes, Kelly sat down at her desk and waited calmly for the students to arrive.

A number of Slytherins and Hellius seemed to be involved in a standoff of sorts and it was only with tremendous nerve that he made himself walk through the middle of it. Shaking his head in wry amusement, Tristan took out his textbook and some parchment before looking up at the board expectantly. The Summoning Charm......Accio......pointing your wand.....sounds like fun! He raised his hand, "Professor? What can we practice it on?"

Kelly opened her shelf and took out a large number feathers, raised herself up and levitated two to each desk. "There you go. Thank you for reminding me."

Posts: 2,756 Group: Ravenclaw Member #114 Joined: Mar 9 2007	Picking up one of the feathers now on his desk, Tristan held it up to his eye, catching glimpses of the light from outside streaming in through the gaps in the feathers. He placed it down on the centre of his desk and flicked his hand, his wand ejecting from its holster and nestling in his palm. He pointed his wand at his target, picturing it flying through the air to land in his waiting hand. "Accio," yet the feather remained resolutely still. Once again he raised his hand, "Professor, is there something I should be picturing when I say the spell? Or is the word enough?"

Kelly thought over it, trying to remember what her Charms Professor had said when they had learnt Accio. "Also try doing a small tap, it isn't essential, but might help you concentrate or help the magic flow out, if you get what I mean."

Third Year Posts: 19 Group: Slytherin Member #320 Joined: Feb 26 2008	Damien sat at a desk not too close to his friend's most hated rival, leaving enough space so the pair wouldn't jump down each others throats immediately; Hopefully they could leave that until later in the lesson. Damien took out his wand and read through the board. He cleared his throat, "Accio," pronouncing it incorrectly. "Stupid spell, what was wrong with that?!"

He mouthed the spell several times to himself to make sure he had it correctly before resuming his mental picture of the feather flying towards him. Finally, he added a small flick into this complicated process, putting all the pieces together and trying again. "Accio!" saying the word with extra vigour and determination. And to his joy, the feather jiggled ever so slightly, but enough to let him know that he was on the right track. "OK, let's do this." He spotted that the Slytherin who had joined them earlier at Breakfast had also arrived in class. He recalled seeing the Slytherin outside in the hallway as he walked past but couldn't remember if he had been with Julian or not. I really need to start paying more attention to these things, he thought to himself.

"It is pronouced A-SEE-oh, not AK-ee-o, as most people think. And it is not a stupid spell. Accio can very well save your life!" OOC||I hope that that would not count as godmoding, I added the A-kee-o thing because thats how most people actually do pronounce it.

Still, perhaps it had failed because he had simply said it wrong. Again he pointed his wand, "Accio," making certain to say it as the Professor had. Yet again the feather remained still. He cast the feather a look of deepest loathing and tried again. OOC|| That's how I had intended him to say it incorrectly.

Besides, it was not his way of behaving. A petulant child was far less likely to get what he wanted than the manipulative "well-behaved" one. Damien understood people; he knew how to play them. He nodded solemnly, "I'm sorry, Professor. Your right. You were a Slytherin when you were here? What was your best subject?" By directing the attention back onto her he successfully avoided any possibility of getting punished. He laughed to himself yet his face showed nothing but polite interest.

A sly smirk still playing across his lips, he took a seat beside his housemate Damien, "Hellius and Ian just wounded each other with Dark Magic. You should have seen it! What's the spell like?" He skimmed the notes before attempting it on his own feather though failed to perform it successfully.

"Accio," he cried with pure hatred at the feather that refused to move, and it did! The feather zoomed pleasantly into his hand as if asking him 'what did you expect me to do?' The shock of the sudden success caused him to exclaim loudly, "It worked!" he cried loudly, "Awesome! Accio! Accio! Accio!" He then proceeded to point at anything and everything, summoning each object to his hand. It seemed once he had succeeded he couldn't stop. Before long, Tristan had a large pile of assorted objects piled on his desk that he had summoned using magic. Easily one of the most useful spells I've learned, he thought happily to himself. He cast a glance at Julian, noting with dismay that Damien was seated beside him, but was still pleased to see that the Slytherin had yet to master it.

Kelly watched as her own quill was summoned and sighed before re-summoning it back. She wrote down some notes of the students behaviour, no bad things to say yet... but that would most probably come sooner or later. Kelly let her eyes waver over the room, untill they fell apon the other Slytherin, perhaps he was more sucsessfull than the other.

"I missed much?" John whispered to Tristan. Looking around he noticed the professor finally. Once again it was not Mac but to John's surprise it wasn't Erin, the substitute, either. John was so used to having different teacher it didn't put him off for long. "Accio" John said and the object flew to him, he caught it but only after fumbling it the first time.

I do not want to end up as my father. Kelly gritted her teeth at the thought of the magicless, fat and hating man, but quickly retained herself.
