Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Yawning as she exited out onto the grounds, Selene was dressed in perky, bright colored trench coat and a variety of different layers of clothing. She, in aspect, wanted to look her best as she was taught in so many different circumstances by her mother and grandmother. However, she also did this for her own personal benefit; wanting to impress others and bring out the possiblity of making them jealous.

Walking out to the lake, she sat on the ground and looked out onto the magnificent, black-like water that edged the coast below. Selene took a deep breath and then collapsed onto the ground behind her, taking in the atmosphere around her. Completely relaxing, she closed her eyes and drifted off.

The odor of fresh blood loomed through the air. Ever so slowly with each step, a drop of blood would flow down his arm, down the flesh of his hand, and then fall to the ground below; making a small, yet steady trail of red liquid that followed Hellius to where ever he was to go. By this time, he had become light headed, but he didn't care; the demon needed him. The demon needed his host to breathe, and despite the blood that was ever so steadily flowing out the wound, he wouldn't die. Flauros wouldn't let him despite obvious efforts, so he kept going. The leech itself was a blessing and a curse all in one little package.

He finally felt weak to the point of where he almost stumbled, but as that occurred, Hellius felt a burning sensation from where the wound in his arm was. Looking down at it, a scab had appeared in the place of the puncture wound and the blood stopped flowing down his arm. Stepping out onto the grounds, an unusual chill shot through his spine, but he was unaware of why.

Are you always this persistent in life?

I go without regrets. Dunno when or how life will end, so I'm playing it how I want. You're just a... minor inconvenience that I can live with.

Of course... of course. But I wonder, despite knowing the answer already: What just makes you act as you do? Despite injury, or pain, or danger, you still go without a care in the world. It is almost as if you are suicidal.

I do what I can when I feel an impulse to do so. If someone I hate happens to be involved, so be it. It's not my problem what happens to them, so whatever.

You speak as if you don't care for other life... A great trait...

Quite.

Looking out onto the grounds, he saw a single body off in the distance near the lake. It was wearing light colored clothing that was quite familiar to him; an odd characteristic that wasn't something to be used often. Smirking and walking over to the body, he tiptoed quietly before hovering over the girl that he did recognize. Bending down and wiping his bloody sleeve all over her forehead, he smirked and awaited the young girl's reaction.

A very unfamiliar smell drifted into Selene's nose which was soon followed by the feeling of a wet cloth upon her forehead. Eyes flying open, the first thing she saw was the smirking maniacle face of her older second cousin, Hellius Surla. He had always been the odd one in the family. While her mother was in fact Hellius' cousin, she had always been the one to idolize the boy. He was everything that she was not.

However, in this particular situation, she could not be happy to see him. Jumping to her feet, she turned back to the boy and then slapped him.

What did you wipe onto my head?!

As a palm was swiftly and quickly brought to his cheek, Hellius' head flew with the blow. Smirking even wider with the act of violence from his usually easy tempered cousin, he returned the favor and shoved the girl's shoulder quite forcefully. Lifting his arm to show the dried blood that had formed a layer across his flesh, his smirk turned into a full on grin.

"Oh, dear Selene, it was blood; my blood. Our blood - our families' blood. But your filthy body can barely even be considered apart of the Surla's. Kim is pathetic to have married a mudblood."

Crossing his arms and staring intently at the blond that was ever so... pathetic in her own right, Hellius awaited the next act against him.

Selene fell to the ground after being shoved by his stronger, older, and bigger cousin. She didn't want to fight back at this point simply because it was a battle she could not win. Laying there in a defensive stance, she looked up at Hellius.

Great Grandma has gotten to you, hasn't she?

Hellius' wand flew from his sleeve once more and was turned upon the girl that was now below him. His grin faded into a smirk and his eyebrows curled into a sadistic frown. A chuckle emitted from his nose that he preformed earlier in DADA, but was more... enjoyable to him to release.

"As always, dear Selene. If you weren't so pathetic in all aspects, maybe you would be more worthy of the family name. But... for now, you're not," Hellius smirked, moving the wand towards the girl's arm.

"Diffindo."

Addie had been heading down the corridor when she caught sight of Hellius; and his trail of blood.

Where's he going? Shouldn't he be in the hospital wing? What if he faints or something? I suppose I should make sure he's alright. The girl thought absently, following her fellow Gryffindor out of the school.

Addie frowned faintly, trailing after the boy, stopping a little ways off as he reached his cousin. It looked like innocent teasing, trying to gross her out with blood... However, that was only at first.

"Protego!" Addie shouted, casting the barrier successfully. She only hoped that she cast it in time.

"Hellius, this is a bit far from hospital wing, don't you think?" She commented, gazing at him intently.

As a shield was emitted from somewhere behind him, Hellius blinked in casual dissatisfaction as the spell was deflected and then looked to see where it had come from. Raising a brow and all hints of amusement fading from his face, he turned towards his newest enemy, and a possible threat. Looking around in a sarcastic manner, he shrugged and took a few steps towards the girl.

"Gee, I dunno, Addie. I really thought that the healer had made a change of scenery inside his wing," Hellius hissed, lowering his guard for a lack of worry. He stopped about a meter away from Addie and then quirked an eyebrow. "But... isn't this a little far away from Defense Against the Dark Arts? I thought that someone like you, especially one that is so afraid of so many things, would at least try to do something that would make up for the lack of bravery that is so evident."

He gradually began to circle around where she stood. "Besides... There are plenty of other people to defend."

Addie swallowed, nervously biting down on her lower lip, following him with her eyes as he began to circle her.

"I'm here now, aren't I? Certainly that says something about my bravery. I'm not here to pick a fight with you Hellius, just to stop you from hurting people. Why wouldn't I defend her, when she has you attcking her?" She commented, holding her wand at the ready, getting into a defensive stance.

"Just go back to the castle Hellius, this is stupid."

"Then why is it that you are here right now? If it's stupid, why are you taking your bravery and putting it into a cause that... really isn't worth your time?" Hellius scoffed, a smirk returning to his face once more. He studied the way she was standing and her posture that was present at that current moment. A mocking laugh exited his nose and he continued to circle her, yet slowing his pace. "And if you didn't want to fight... just why are you preparing yourself? Do I look like I'm preparing myself?" He shrugged. "But... I suppose I do have to give you the benefit of the doubt. After all... my past does have a knack for shit like this."

"Defending someone is worth my time. And yes, you do have a history, I thought we were beyond all that? You were good for a while, now back to this? What happened to you?" She shook her head slightly, watching him carefully still.

"Can't hurt to be prepared. Now then, originally I was worried you were going to pass out or something, not so much anymore though. Either way, what'll it be Hellius? Going back to the school yet?"

Hellius shook his head in sight disbelief. He stopped to gather his composure and then turned towards Addie with a quirked brow. It was confusion that grabbed him, but it was the concern that she 'said' she had that made him delirious.

"What happened to me? It would be none of your concern, but even so, I am not going back. There is nothing to do now that the boggart has been disintegrated... and I wanted something to... have fun with. Perhaps this is for you, hm?" He chuckled, looking back at his cousin for a short moment. She was so pathetic and helpless that it was actually amusing. "Oh well." He concluded, looking back to Addie. "But what happened to me is old news in my family. While I am a special case, all males have been put through the same bullshit I have. Not a big deal..."

"Well, whatever you're going through, maybe you shouldn't take it out on the people around, hm, Hellius?" She paused, frowning slightly, gazing at him.

"In class, before the boggart got to you, I saw the look on your face. What's so funny about my boggart, hm?"

A full on grin stretched across Hellius' face before he turned away and released a chorus of laughter to ridicule the girl. Taking a few steps towards his cousin, he felt a feeling of amusement run through his veins. He wanted it to last longer.... Something else needed to happen.

"Your greatest fear simply concerns the well being of others! Pathetic!" He egged on, beginning to twirl his wand around his finger tips. "The strongest people in this world are the ones that will fight to survive. In the words of a... certain relative of mine, those who show no resistance in the world are those who are weak inside," he continued, turning back towards Addie with a smirk on his face. "Those that follow the rules, and the regulations, and don't attempt to put themselves in front of anyone else, are the ones that will be... killed in the end."

He paused and tilted his head, still showing a satisfied look upon his face.

"But with all these fears, are you one that will listen to everything she's told? Are you a person that will just... go with the flow instead of actually making a point, or a difference?"

"I make a difference simply by stopping you." She stated, taking a few steps towards him. "Which means, I am showing resistance, I'm resisting your psychotic ways."

"Frankly speaking, Hellius, I don't care what your relative said, because they're wrong. No one can make it alone, the strong ones are the ones who can take care of themselves and others while they're at it. Not just selfishly ensuring their own survival, because, one day, you'll end up alone. No one else to taunt and torture, no wife, no kids. All alone." Addie commented, gazing at him intently. "I'm not picking a fight with you Hellius. I'm trying to warn you."

"You're making a difference by stopping me? How, in your right mind, do you think you're doing that, hm? By stopping me from attacking one person... ha, that won't do anything at all. You stopped me from attacking a useless waste of life, but that just focuses my attention to someone else. You, for instance," Hellius retorted, beginning to glare daggers at Addie. He about to pull the first move; he learned something from his lessons with his grandmother, that was for sure. The young man looked at Addie and raised a brow, waiting for a hint to happen that he could make remarks on. It wasn't coming... for the moment.

"You can't trust anyone, Addie. Everyone, when it comes to a situation when themselves are on the line, will go with their own lives. Even if their closest friend was there with them, someone would choose to leave with their lives if that was the only option. I don't give a shit about this goodie-goodie savior crap, because it won't happen. This is the real world! Not some stupid story!"

"I don't know about your world Hellius, but I couldn't live with myself if I left someone behind so I could save my own skin." She commented, staring at him.

"Fine, focus your attention on me. Better than on her. She's no waste of life, anyone can make a difference. For all you know, she's the next minister for magic. You never know how much potential someone has." Addie commented indignantly, scowling faintly at him.

"I'll trust who ever I want, even you could change I'm sure."

Hellius chuckled and tilted his head to the side again. "Are you actually serious? Hahaha." He stared deep into Addie's eyes and didn't move his gaze off of them. His deep blue eyes that were slowly growing tiny trickles of red throughout them stayed focussed on that one area. "If that's what you want to believe, it's your own funeral. Whatever you have read... or seen... or heard will not come true in the real world. The filthy stories of your childhood about the beanstalk, and all those other good guys always win shit farms will not happen. Those that fight for their beliefs will manage to pull them off and be remembered. Those that fight for others will always manage to be erased and forgotten."

He smirked and returned his wand to his sleeve. Cutting his gaze away, he started forward and soon passed by Addie until he was back near the castle once more.

He left the grounds.

"I am fighting for my beliefs." She commented simply, pocketing her wand and walking over to the girl on the ground.

He's impossible, I'm not weak for fighting for others... right? I know I'm not...

Addie sighed and crouched down beside Selene. "You alright? He didn't hurt you or anything, did he?"

Not at all, thanks to you, Selene smiled and looked down at her trench coat. I have to apologize for his behavior; his grandmother is still stuck in the old ways when mudbloods were descriminated even more than now. He spent the entire summer vacation with her... and our family's ways back then were a bit... troublesome.
