Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Natalie entered the room and propped herself down next to Tris and Leslie. She overheard the end of their conversation and guessed it was about the Slytherins.

"Well thanks Tris, for including me in the list of non-crazy Slytherins. That's an honor that is."

She took out her wand pointed it at Tris and said "locomoter chair." The chair he was sitting on slid away from the table carrying a surprised Tristan.

She gave him a naughty grin and turned towards Leslie. "That's bollocks what you said about being afraid of Julian and his lot. You wouldn't be in Slytherin if you're as spineless as you say. So what's the deal?"

OOC: *sigh* Nat highlight your entry. Don't make me send you a strongly worded PM like I had to someone else today. :)

BIC: Tristan sat looking surprised as his chair hovered above the ground and slowly drifted away from the desk he was seated at in what must have looked extremely funny from an external point of view. After a few seconds he landed back to the ground with a bump. He considered resuming his place in the conversation but thought better of it when he spotted Nat talking seriously with her. Maybe she'll have better luck at getting answers from her. Instead he continued what Nat had started, hovering the chair he was on about the room, feeling very weird indeed.

"Coming through! Out of the way people!"

Annie couldn't help but laugh a bit for herself when Tristan started zooming around the classroom on his chair. She wondered how to practice the other charm, she couldn't just knock someone out to practice a spell... Or? No... bad idea.

Annie knew she probably could do the spell but wanted to practice none the less. But since she didn't manage to find out how to practice it, she settled on the hovering charm instead. "Locomotor Table!" The table sounded like it whinced while slowly flying up. It shook like crazy and some of Annies stuff fell on the floor. The whole thing was also required her full attention, and she had to take care not to move it to much as it would crash into their head, At least I can practice Enervate then.

Since the whole thing was quite hard to hold up and gave her a head ache she tried to put it down smoothly, she was happy when it landed completly normal with a "dunk."

Julian swaggered into the room, taking a seat in the midst of the people he hated, knowing his presence was a deterrant to their happiness. Enjoying the feeling, he set to work feeling fulfilled and pleased with himself. After several minutes of practice he found he could successfully cast the Locomotor Charm and set about using it for surreptitous mischief. Whispering the spell repeatedly, he shifted the bags of Dave, Genevieve, Tristan, Nat, Leslie and the Ravenclaw he had argued with in History of Magic so each person now had a different bag at their feet other than the one they were supposed to. Smirking to no one, he casually leaned back in his chair, looking out the window wistfully.
Are you my next victim? Are you my next prey?

Annie put away her wand and wrote some more notes, now the parchment's every inch was filled with ink. She needed some more parchment and struck out after her bag, it wasn't there, she looked around and noticed it was a bit further forward. She shrugged, she had probably kicked it or something. She was about to take it when she suddenly remembered that the used sheet was her last bit of paper.

She took her parchment and wondered how to make it possible to use a piece of paper twice, without ruining the already written. No concealment charms would work, as when she wrote over that she would only get a inky, unreadable mess

ooc: Tris, I don't think that Leslie has technically found out about the Defence Club yet... :)

ic:
Glancing around when she heard someone else approach the table, she was once again surprised at Ian's bold words. He hadn't seemed very self-confident when she first met him, but he was proving to be more so than she had originally thought.

Looking back to Tristan and seeing a bit of doubt in his eyes at her previous words, she was about to say something about how it was 'just so hard to avoid people like them when they make up half of Slytherin's population', but stopped to listen to Natalie when the girl joined them. Having noticed Julian enter the room, Leslie lowered her voice before answering so that only Nat could hear her, "I didn't say I was afraid of them, I only said they intimidate me," she said this with an air of pride, despite the fact that she was whispering, "Besides that, Gryffindors are supposed to be the brave ones."

Quickly glancing around the room again to be sure that no one was listening, she continued, her voice adopting an almost pleading quality now, "Come on, Nat. Can you seriously tell me that you've never been the teeniest bit worried that Jordanna or someone is going to jinx you in your sleep, just for being who you are? I mean, I knew that there were people like that, but I never thought it would be this bad at a school..." she trailed off and looked away, willing her eyes to glisten with the hint of a tear. Looking back to her fellow Slytherin, her voice changed again, now taking on a tone that suggested self-frustration, "I'm... I'm sorry, Nat, I'm just being stupid. I know. I'm just not sure what else to do," she dabbed furiously at her eyes for a moment, and then stared down at her desk in a thoroughly ashamed manner.

Now, does she believe me? Come on Nat, you can do it...

Ian turned around to return to his desk. "Locomotor chair," he said, his wand pointed at his overturned chair, willing it to right itself.

"I should return to my reading on the proper use of the Revival Charm," he said to Leslie and Tristan (who were now joined by the decidedly un-Slytherin Slytherin girl, Natalie) "see you later...'Twitchy'," he said with a smirk, directed at Tristan.

He returned to his seat, his Standard Book of Spells still open on the page regarding Calming Charms. He sat down and began pretending to read the book. All the while wondering, Perhaps I'm overplaying the Slytherin bit a little.... He silently waited for the bell to ring.

Kidnapped!

Tristan watched the unusual Slytherin (Ian) from his vantage point atop his floating chair fortress, still directing the pedestal with his wand, yet his eyes were narrowed at the boy in question. Something about his personality didn't feel right to him; he was not a Julian yet he was also not a Nat. Tristan had never known so much confusion associated with a house before than the Slytherins. It seemed if you weren't a clear cut Gryffindor, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, you were placed in Slytherin and forced to battle it out.

Dave, Nat, Ella, Julian, Mascacra, Jordanna and now this new one, each were fundamentally different to one another. Yes, the first three shared some qualities as did the latter three, yet there were still some obvious differences. It was in such contrast to the other house: Ben and Genevieve were both very similar personality types, himself and Riley were the same, even Addie, V and John were fairly similar. Yet those Slytherins...so weird! he mused to himself, before refocusing his efforts on his floating chair as his momentary distraction had caused the chair to skim across the ground.

If we see a man glorifying his race, gender, or creed, we can understand there is nothing about himself that deserves glorification.

Entering the classroom slowly, Hellius yawned with a noticeable bored interpretation. Not caring that he was late, he took a seat in the nearest chair that was open and then looked up at the board. Taking out a quill and a piece of parchment, the boy took the notes and listened to the happenings around the class.

Boring...

In all, he was sick of school despite the break that was given awhile ago. It was just the same thing over and over again with different things being taught. The boring subjects were still the same, and it was almost as if the teachers didn't even attempt to spice up the school life.

Enervate would be useful before you're knocked unconscious... Adrenaline is always helpful for a little boost...

Pondering the second spell, he yawned once again.

Locomotor is great for lazyasses.

Smirking, he pulled out another piece of parchment and wrote down the answers.

1. Wingardium Leviosa and Occaeco.
2. Finite
3. It's great for lazy people who can't get off their arses to do daily chores.

Taking a breath and leaning back in his chair, Hellius looked around mindlessly at the other attendees of the class. There was Tristan who seemed at bit distraught, Julian being himself, Leslie being a baby, and the rest of them practicing with the spells. Laughing gently, he couldn't shake off his asshole attitude at that current moment. It was either that he was tired or completely... annoyed. Hellius couldn't pick.

Tristan directed his hover chair over to where Hellius was now seated; he was not exactly good friends with him but felt that he needed to offer his gratitude for earlier.

"Hey mate. I just wanted to say thanks for sticking up for Riley in Transfiguration. That was good of you. Not to mention nearly killing Julian, can't thank you enough for that!" He chuckled for a moment before resuming his seriousness, "But seriously, thanks mate."

He gave the boy a nod before resuming his journey about the room, enjoying the experience immensely.

Nodding to Tristan after hearing his thanks, Hellius pondered over the act that was committed in Transfiguration. It lost Gryffindor the lead, but after History of Magic, it seemed as if Addie regained the lead. So, in all, the boy had shown Julian's weak point and the immortality that he didn't possess without getting any sort of punishment... besides the detention. Chuckling lightly, he watched as Tristan zoomed around the classroom on the chair.

Crazy...

Shrugging it off and looking to the professor who was lacking any sort of activity, Hellius murmured something about uselessness under his breath before taking his wand from his pocket. Tapping the piece of wood against the table, thoughts of torment and murderous gore entered his mind from nowhere. It was random and he hadn't recalled summoning the thoughts. Apparitions that he recalled were being brought up in his mind, and yet he couldn't completely remember them. His father's face appeared, soon followed by a flash of light and an unrecognizable corpse. Growling and slamming his elbows onto his desk, Hellius tilted his head towards the door and awaited the slightest bit of a sound of a bell.

Tristan, startled by the ringing bell, crashed heavily to the ground, the chair breaking one of its leg in the process. He roared with laughter at the occurance, pushing himself off the ground and repairig the chair with a wave of his wand. He shook his head in amusement before collecting his books and heading for Herbology.

Smirking at the sound of a bell, Hellius collected the papers and quills and shoved them into his bag. Taking his wand, he shot it up his sleeve for possible use later. Slinging his bag over his shoulder, he quickly walked towards the door and left the class.

Geneviéve wrapped up her notes, passed in a paper with the answers to the professor, then glanced at Dave in a 'see you soon' way. She swung her bag over her shoulder and walked out of the classroom.

As the others packed away their things for their next class, Ian did the same. He absentmindedly grabbed his bag with his right hand and winced. That burn he got trying to destroy that dark object. What the hell was he supposed to do with that thing. He ruled out going to a teacher with it, that might be enough to get him expelled--which might have been his stepbrother's intent on sending it to him; oh how he would love to see Ian return home, banned from Hogwarts forever.

Ian quickly switched the bag over to his left hand and quickly walked out the door.

Addie entered the classroom. She scanned the room before sitting with Tristan, occasionally pitching into the conversation, but mainly focusing on the work.

1. Wingardium Leviosa, and Mobilicorpus.
2. Finite.
3. For moving objects too heavy to be moved by hand, or wingardium leviosa.

She thought, folding her parchment into an airplane, before flying it around the room with the first spell. After having some fun with the plane; mainly crashing it into her friends heads, she packed up, leaving as the class ended.

Natalie looked at Leslie with pity in her eyes. "I can't say they do scare me. Why should they? We're all Slytherins, and we're all pure bloods so there's nothing to fear."

"Dunno, I just didn't think you were the type to be intimidated. Guess I was wrong."

Natalie turned away to pack up her things, but then sat up again as a thought came to her.

"Yeah, I guess courage is a Gryffindor quality. But you know what Slytherins are renowned for? Lying."

I know you're not telling me something Nat thought, Why don't you trust me

With a very Slytherin-esque smirk, Nat picked up her things and left the classroom

Leslie looked at Nat again as she started to speak. Keeping an unhappy look plastered across her face, she remained silent while the other girl spoke. She made sure to keep 'in character' until Nat left the room, then breathed a heavy sigh of relief, glad that her story had been sufficient. Well, I pulled it off - for now anyway... I'll have to be careful though, they barely believe me... After picking up the bag that was beside her on the table and realizing that it was not her own, she followed the rest of her classmates out of the room intending to figure out who had her bag.
