Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? Substitute Professor Posts: 23 Group: Professor Member #227 Joined: Nov 25 2007	Erin entered the class Erin walked in through the teacher's entrance to the class room before fixing her hair. Mac had taken her around the castle and they amazingly ended up in Hogsmeade and the Three Broomsticks, where they mulled over some mead, flirted over fire whiskey and finished the night with a butter beer, or two. Erin certainly had a big night. She woke up and her hair was messy. Straightening it out and relieved as the water washed away the remnants of the big night before. A fresh Erin readied to take another class. This time out of a favor to Mac, who had come off second best after last night and ended up ill again from what he told Erin. Erin shook off the memories last night and found herself in the middle of the charms class room spacing off and looking out the window towards the fields. Star-Gazing was not something that was describes as Erin-ish. Pointing at the board she quickly wrote the lesson's instructions before taking the seat at the desk. As your final lesson before examinations we shall be doing two spells. Petrificus Totalus This spell, when done correctly "freezes" the intended the intended target. This is known as a defensive jinx and is used in duel or battle situations. While it does not kill the opponent it freezes them and makes their limbs snap to the sides of the persons body. The wand movement, found in your books, is a simple stabbing motion and the incantation is "Petrificus Totalus". Engorgio and Reducio Engorgio is the growth spell and Reducio is the shrinking spell. These like many charms, get more difficult depending on the complexity of the target. For instance, turning a worm green is easier then turning a bird blue. Due to the fact that one has a spine and the other doesn't. The same wand movement consists of a simple flick wand movement. Once the notes have been taken down, decide whether you would like to be doing petrificus totalus, or grabbing an apple for engorgio and reducio. However, due to the size only two pairs can do petrificus totalus at a time and you must have your notes check by me before you can start on spell work. Erin looked at the notes on the board and nodded her head. Very impressive Erin thought. She took a seat at the desk and waited for the students to enter.

Having slept in, and then simply not bothered to go to Defence, she was slightly surprised to realize that examinations were starting so soon. Well, of course they are...that's what happens when the year's almost over, dolt she thought to herself, smirking ever-so-slightly as she walked over to a seat, smack in the middle of the room. For good measure, Bella wrote down a few notes- something she never got, as she found simply studying from the book much easier- and then, as she didn't have a partner, practiced the second spell on her quill.

Unregistered	Ben entered the room with a smile on his face because of the previous lesson. On entry he noticed a Slytherin girl, he decided that because of not previously noticing her. "Hey, I'm Ben, Who are you?"

However, she doubted seriously that he was worth her time- Mudbloods and Muggles may not be the hideous beings she imagined, but you could usually tell simply by the way they acted. "What?" she asked harshly, completely ignoring his question.

Unregistered	August entered the classroom and was feeling particularly good today. She had awoken and when applying her usual makeup had decided that she looked as good as she could recall. This feeling had buoyed her spirits and given her a sense of immunity. Perhaps it's time to let some of the boys know this. she mused. Taking a seat beside Ben, a boy she considered cute in an unusual way, she decided to openly flirt with him, just to see if she could win him over. She knew many would see her as a flirt and possibly more, yet she didn't care. She was done caring. A small part of her warned that she was biting off more than she could chew, also that Clifton would be devastated, yet she pushed this from her mind. August flicked her hair casually, "Hi Ben, how are you?" being overtly friendly, battering her eyelids at him.

Unregistered	Ben noticed August, whom he had not spoken with in a while sit beside him. The last time he remembered talking to her was on the Hogwarts express, although there may of been a time which he did not remember, knowing his memory. He also decided to ignore the Slytherin who had ignored his question, he couldn't be bothered to repeat himself, so he decided to turn his attention to August who was looking very glam and good looking today. "Hey, Long time no see, I'm good aswell thanks" he said smiling.

Unregistered	"I'm great! Just great!" She leaned back momentarily and stared Ben up and down, "Have you done something different with your hair? It looks really cute. Although it might be better..." she reached over and brushed his hair back off his face," there! Much hotter! She laughed at her own behavior and began to jot the notes down, stealing glances at the Hufflepuff beside her to see if she was having any effect.

Unregistered	Ben turned a bit red as the girl complimented him, although he was happy to have recieved it. "Yeah I have changed it, and thanks" He said with another smile, trying to hide the blushing. Trying to think of what to say back he said what came into his mind earlier, "Your looking very pretty today".

Unregistered	She slapped him gently on the arm, "Oh your so sweet!" She made herself blush ever so slightly, "What do you think of my new eye color? My mum gave me a kit over Christmas that allows you to change them." She leaned as close to Ben as comfort would allow, inches only separating them, under the guise of showing him her eye color. She allowed her right hand to support herself on his knee, knowing her touch would cause the boy further blushings.

Unregistered	As the girl got closer to him he allowed her to, but he had Jodi on his mind during it, but he would allow it for now as she was not in the room and officially he was doing no harm with August the one doing all the actions. "It's very nice, suits you" he replied, noticing the girl had placed her hand on his knee, causing him to blush a bit more.

Unregistered	Giggling as she pulled back, she shot a hand to her mouth in fake horror, "Oh I totally forgot, your with Jodi now, aren't you? That was so out of line, touching your leg like that! I'm sorry, Ben! However..." she leaned in once more to whisper in his ear, her hand held up to shield her voice from listeners in, "I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it." Giving him a cheeky smile, she winked flirtatiously and once again flicked her hair back over her shoulder, deciding that she toyed with the boy enough for the time being. She withdrew her wand and set to work reading the instructions from the textbook on how to cast the Body Bind Charm.

"And I won't pretend I didn't" he replied before pulling back and returning her wink, although he did not though where that comment would lead to.

Unregistered	Success! she exclaimed to herself. I knew I could get him! This thought only heightened her sense of ability and worth, rallying her to do more with her charms. Checking to see whether anyone else had entered the classroom or whether the other girl could overhear, she whispered once more in his ear as flirtatiously as she could muster, "Then perhaps I can show you more. What would you say to a little meeting later tonight? Just you and me." She knew this ultimatum was the big test for her charms. Pull this off and the school is your oyster. Once again her conscience spoke up, warning her that this was not at all like her to toy with somebody in this way. Don't you remember the warning on that makeup kit? May result in uncharacteristic behavior? She ignored this, too caught up in her own moment. ooc| This is not at all in her character and I've decided that it's been caused by the makeup kit she received for Christmas. But that doesn't mean it can't go anywhere.

Unregistered	Ben smiled, her charms were too much for him, so he replied to her offer. "That sounds good, Where do you suggest we meet" he whispered back, although he still had doubts in his mind but he could tell that it would probably go no further then a meeting later. "I'll look forward to it", he said smiling to the girl. OOC - We could see what this "meeting" turns into later, It could carry on in some way because of the kit.

Second Year Posts: 177 Group: Gryffindor Member #184 Joined: Aug 27 2007	Jodi strode into the classroom eager to learn all she could before the upcoming exams. Upon entering, she noticed a Slytherin girl that she couldn't recall seeing before. Unsure of what the girl was like (by now she knew that she had to be pretty careful around certain Slytherins) she simply gave her a friendly smile before joining Ben and August. She pulled out her things, completely oblivious to what had been going on only moments before, and began writing down the information that was on the board. When she had finished, she finally looked up to greet her friends, noticing their red-tinged faces as she did so, "Hey guys... what's up with you two?" she asked with a laugh.

Fifth Year Posts: 10 Group: Ravenclaw Member #220 Joined: Nov 20 2007 Age 16 Location I dunno lolz	Julianne entered the classroom, her hair looking as messy as usual; she had been up really late the previous night revising her study notes in preparation for exams, so she'd slept in and had very little time to prepare for the day that morning. Avoiding eye contact with anyone as usual, Julianne took a seat alone. She removed her textbook and some parchment from her bag and began copying the note.

As she sat down with her friends, Ella's mood was improved even more when she read the board. During her short time at Hogwarts the previous year, Ella had attended this very class, and it was then that she discovered her talent for Charms. To this day, she still considered the body-bind a specialty of hers. And so, she began working on engorgio, using a quill from her bag. As she expected, the charm worked at the first try, and after several attempts she was even starting to be able to control how big it grew! Grinning as she rerely did, Ella continued practicing.

This also soon bored her, and as she had managed the engorgio spell, began looking around for someone to be her partner.

"The last thing I need right now is that Collins girl ruining my day!" Roxy's mom never understood why they didn't get along ,and forcing her to spend every minute with her at ministery events wasn't helping either. But, to her disaponitment Collins was there. Roxy choose the seat right in front of her hoping to drive her crazy with her evil plan, "OPERATION COLLINS MUST PAY." Sometimes Roxy wonders why shes in Ravenclaw......
