Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Christmas takes early festive toll

London, A muggle man has been killed after a wizard thought he was an dark wizard trying to break into the wizards home. Neighbours, wizards, have told the Daily Prophet that the muggle man was very drunk and making quiet a racket when the wizard arrived home. The site of the man drove the wizard into taking action to protect his property. The wizard then hit the man with a stunning spell which tipped him over the railing of the second story balcony and the man plummeted to his death.

The wizard, set to defend himself in front of the wizengamot declined to make a statement to the Daily Prophet, ranting about how he wants a fair trial. The clearly distraught and insane man was detained by the magical law enforcement squad and arrested him under the charges of using magic in the presence of a muggle, killing and aiming to injure a muggle.

Attempted Robbery at Gringotts

Three wizards tried to break into Gringotts, a Goblin himself says with his own words,
"I heard some noise down in the dungeons, and went to check. There I saw three wizards trying to open velvet."

When we ask the Goblin what was in the velvet, he answers brutally, "Hm, you look mighty like one of ‘em. Anyway, I'm not telling, bank Security ya know. But it was valuable, that's sure."

The three wizards were taken and sent to Azkaban, were they will stay for three months.

Hogwarts off to Another Great Start

The beginning of this week saw Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry once again full of eager students. The returning headmistress, Bidelia Belleford, started the new year with the traditional first-year sorting ceremony, and start-of-term feast. There are hundreds of returning students to Hogwarts this year – no doubt happy to be back. Additionally, I think it's safe to say that by looking into the excited faces of first years, one can conclude that a dream has come true for them.

No Hogwarts year would be complete without an early start to the quidditch schedule. As a result, house teams have already been selected, captains are as follows: Gryffindor – Addie Lumineux, Ravenclaw – Tristan Nightshade, Slytherin – Eleonore Collins and Hufflepuff – Geneviéve Raine. The match schedule for this year provides a total of twelve games, and the teams are already promising an exhilarating race for the Quidditch Cup.

Along with Headmistress Belleford, there are a number of names that deserve mentioning. Each and every one of the Hogwarts professors bring a vast amount of talent to share with students. Teaching classes this year will be Professor Edgar MacDonald (Charms), Professor Carmella DeMedardo (Herbology), Professor Nate Aphelion (Transfiguration and Astronomy), Professor Adelina Belmonte (Potions), Professor Jack Owen (Defense Against the Dark Arts), Professor Jacob Honsely (Divination), Professor Isolde Mahoney (History of Magic), Professor Justine Kelly (Flying), and Professor Chuck Tortal (Substitute). Madame Emeline Johnson will be the school's returning healer, while Professor Kelly will again hold the position of Deputy Headmistress.

I would like to – on behalf of everyone here at the Daily Prophet – thank all the Hogwarts staff members who dedicate so much of their lives to providing a good education for the children of our future. Also, best wishes for a fun-filled year of learning to all students!

Sports Update

The Continued their stellar season in round 4 as they took on the Magpies and proceeded to crush them. It was only when Cannons seeker, Julian Smith, caught the Snitch to end the game did the goal scoring madness stop and it was all one sided. The game ended at 510 to 40 after the Magpies scored the last two before Smith caught the Snitch. It was the Magpies who drew first blood with two quick goals before the Cannons hit back hard scoring all of their 36 goals in a row. 25 of them coming from inform Chaser, Vladamir Putinsky. Though a congratulations is also in order for both goal keepers who managed to perform some remarkable saves for their respective sides. Magpies keeper, Jack Garland, stopped the score from being worse then it was by performing countless fingertip saves, meanwhile at the other end of the pitch, Cannons keeper, Oliver Ryan, was allowed many breaks as his team pulled away, however, he too managed to perform saves.

In other matches, the Wasps beat the Bangers, Puddlemore over came the Wanderers the Harpies beat the Arrows, the Kestrals where pipped by the undefeated Tornadoes the Falcons overcame the Pride of Portree and in a short game it was the Catapults who beat the Bats in a low scoring contest.
