Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Deputy Headmaster & Transfiguration Professor Posts: 768 Group: Ravenclaw Head of House Member #122 Joined: Mar 20 2007	Nate walked through the door and into the unusual classroom, taking in the entire room. He had been called upon to teach Charms as Professor MacDonald, or Mac as he knew him, was feeling ill. He stared around the room and considered how totally how different the room felt to his own classroom. Perhaps it's due to the substantial difference in magic cast within the room. He knew magic left it's own traces and Transfiguration was very different to Charms. That just be it, he decided. He pulled ouyt his wand and the notes his colleague had given him and began to write: Welcome class! Today you will be learning about the Sonorus Charm and the Quietus Charm. You will have noticed that the room has been soundproofed, this is becuase these spells are designed to drastically louden and quieten your voice. You may have noticed these spells used during in Quidditch and other important events. The incantations for these spells are 'Sonorus' and 'Quietus' respectively. Feel free to practice these spells on your own as you do not require a partner. Please take a pair of headphones to protect your ears.. Nate set a box of fluffy pink headphones down on the desk nearest the door. He knew the color and nature of the headphones would get a reaction from the students. He checked his watch and saw he was quite early and so settled in to wait.

He knew it was unreasonable to be mad at him because he was trying to discipline the aggressive idiot but it still was maddening to think that becuase of someone else they were now in last place. Coming from the previous years win it was quite the depressing thought. He ground his teeth together and took out his books, reading the board as he did so. At least the class sounds like fun. he thought bitterly.

The blood had dried on the back of his neck yet he could feel some moisture emanating from a point on the back of his head; similar to the point of where John had made him bleed a year earlier. Shaking his head in shameful disgrace, Hellius took a seat next to Tristan. Noting the anger that was probably emitting from his being, he tried a careful approach. "It's too bad I didn't kill him, huh? Gryffindor would've probably suffered instead," he murmured. Reading the board for a moment, he soon nodded to himself and pulled out his wand carefully. "But then again, we can always get him later."

The pair had hardly ever spoken and he was unsure of how to respond. Inside he was nearly as annoyed with him as he was with the moron Abaddon, yet it hadn't been Hellius fault that he'd been attacked without cause. Tristan made a non-committal noise; he had his own reasons for wanting to get back at Abaddon but he would do so alone and with careful planning so as to not get Ravenclaw into trouble again. "Why did he attack you?" Tristan was trying to understand what had gone down, if only to understand what made the boy tick. For no reason at all Abaddon Delitrous had attacked two people, seemingly for the simple pleasure of causing pain.

I'm sure the most likely one was because I did something to him over the summer. I'm not sure why it was all my fault that he had to stay in my neighborhood for a month... but he holds it against me for it, I guess," Hellius tried to explain. He remembered the smartass mouth that Abaddon did have towards the neighbor kids. That wasn't the smartest move ever. Leaning back in his seat, Hellius put his right hand on the back of his head to attempt to stop what was left of the bleeding. "And bad mouthing chavs' mothers in the suburbs doesn't help either..."

From what he had heard about the firey Gryffindor this was something of the norm when it came to him. At least your attack had just cause. I was attack purely because I was found unconscious. He flicked through the pages of his textbook and stopped at the pages on the Sonorus and Quietus Charms. He began to skim through the paragraphs before getting started.

He watched as he was soon joined by Mr Surla and the two began to talk intently to one another. He considered letting the matter drop but decided that it had to be explained if the boy was to understand the broader issue. He walked through the desks and stopped in front of the two boys seated, "Mr Nightshade, is anything the matter?"

This wouldn't have anything to do with my taking points from Ravenclaw, would it? Because I'll have you know, Mr Nightshade, that it is my duty as a Professor of this school to discipline students in any way I see fit. And if I feel that taking points from a house, including my own, will be the best course of action, you will certainly believe that I will do it. Do I make myself clear?" Nate very rarely raised his voice with students, even with disciplining them, but this time he felt it necessary. He wanted it made clear that it was his perogative to do so if he wished.

He listened to the situation with his eyes closed and his arms crossed and his head hunched over. Most of this whole thing reminded him of himself last year when he was rather homicidal. Sighing, he decided to speak up. "Abaddon isn't well in the mind, Professor. I doubt that he completely has control over his actions," he hissed calmly.

"Now I hope I never have to speak like that to you ever again because I didn't enjoy that either." He tilted his head slightly as he listened to Mr Surla speak up about young Abaddon Delitrous, "I will keep a much closer eye on him from now on, don't you worry about that." He stood up and let his arms fall casually to his side, "Perhaps you can win some of the points back in class." He gave the boy a brief smile before resuming his spot up front. "Let me see what you can do now, boys."

He picked up one of the many pink, fluffy pairs of headphones and gave the Professor another dirty look before signing and placing them over his head. He didn't bear try and catch his reflection in the mirror but he accidentally spotted himself in the nearby window and immediately ripped the silly things from his ears. He stared dismally down at them when an idea occurred to him. Pulling out his wand and tapping the hideous things, he cast the colour change charm, "Mutatio Black." The pink immediately morphed into jet black and looked considerably less ridiculous. He mentally flipped through his Transfiguration notes and and remembered the Switching Spell. Vitudo he recalled. He tapped his now black earphones and spoke clearly and with intent, "Vitudo." He focused on switching the fluffy feathers with the smooth velvet of his favourite chair in the Ravenclaw common room. He pictured the headphones looking as if they were made from the same fabric and he grinned broadly as they took the same appearance. He now had an entirely normal looking pair of headphones with which to practice the new Charms. He raised them to the Professor, "Cheers on the headphones. They look great!" He knew this would get a chuckle from him and possibly even a few points for application of knowledge. Placing them snugly around his ears he consulted his textbook again: When performing the Sonorus or Quietus Charms you must ensure you point your wand at the throat. Males find this charm easier to cast as their Adam's Apple makes it considerably easier to locate the correct spot. Females must estimate roughly the correct area. He grinned, Riley will love that! He pointed his wand at his Adam's Apple and spoke the spell, "Sonorus." He felt no visible effect take place but he could hear himself breathing considerably clearer. He looked about the room and spotted Hellius still seated at the table. He made sure not to talk too loudly, but loud enough to give him a scare, "Hellius!" His voice exploded about the room and he hoped he didn't cause him or the Professor any damage.

He saw him cast the Sonorus Charm on himself and casually cast a Deafening Charm on himself and Mr Surla who hadn't moved from his seat. When the boy spoke it magically dampened to sound far less impacting than it would otherwise be. He pushed himself off from the desk, "Excellent, excellent, Mr Nightshade. 5 points to Ravenclaw for your successful Charm, Transfiguration and for cheek." He turned to young Hellius, "Let me see you try, Mr Surla."

The volume of Tristan's voice was dramatically increased and he wasn't prepared for it. Losing his balance, Hellius tipped over, feel to the ground, and then released a grown as his made an impact with the floor. His face making small quirks, he pushed himself back up slowly and then into his seat. "Thanks for that...." Looking at the teacher from the corner of his eye, Hellius nodded and raised his wand in the direction of the box of headphones. "Accio - headphones," Hellius hissed scornfully. As a pair of the pink headsets lifted out of the box and soon dropped right in front of him, his eye twitched in surprise. "...Are you kidding me?" Setting down his wand, Hellius plucked at the pink shag part of the earplugs and smirked slightly; twas fluffy, but bothersome. He examined it and figured that the pink could burned off, or it could be, as Tristan demonstrated, changed color. Hellius admired the sight of fire, but he figured that the Professor would deduct points for "arson". Rolling his eyes, he picked up his wand and pointed it at the earplugs. "Mutatio - maroon," he hissed. The headphones changed from a hideous pink, to a dark red; Hellius smiled in delight. He took the headset and then placed them over his head. Taking his wand, attempting to adjust to the feeling, and pointing the wand at his Adam's apple, he opened his mouth again and muttered the required incantation. "Did it work?" Hellius boomed.

The girl entered the classroom with her hands over her ears, shutting the door behind her. She glanced to the board, reading the note over quickly, before plucking a pair of fluffy pink earmuffs from the box, slapping them over her ears with a grin. It was obvious she didn't exactly care how ridiculous they looked. Addie sat down beside Tristan and took her book out, setting it on the desk and reading it over quickly. She brought out her wand, glancing to the two boys to get an approximate area to point her wand. Addie raised her wand to her throat. Sonorus, sonorus, sonorus, it seems fairly straight forward. Right then, I'm pretty sure I'm pointing at the right spot. Addie focused on the spell, saying the incantation in a clear voice. It wasn't as though it was really that hard to find the right spot to point. Knowing where ones vocal cords are isn't a mighty feat. "There." She said simply, voice ringing throughout the room.

Fourth Year Posts: 711 Group: Ravenclaw Member #119 Joined: Mar 16 2007	Riley slid through the door, flashing her spirit fingers as she did so. She was in a rather cheerful mood for some unknown reason and felt this entrance was called for. Smirking as she straightened her robes and hair, she read the board as she tossed her things in front of Addie and Tristan. She grabbed herself a pair of headphones and donned them, making sure to fluff out the feathers for added effect. Riley slipped her wand from her robes and watched Addie cast the charm on herself. Imitating her, she pointed her wand to the middle of her throat, "Sonorus," before giggling at an insanely loud volume. "This is rather fun," she laughed. "Professor, is it possible to shatter something because we're so loud? If so, can I try?"

Taking out his time table. He saw he had charms. He rubbed his eyes. Yet still it was the Transfiguration teacher standing at the front of the class. He looked around and saw the other second years there. All with their wands to their throats. He heard raised voices but had no idea what was going on. He looked at the board, Sonorus, it read. John flicked open his charms book and saw that it was a charm that raised the volume of your voice. John wiped his brow and resumed his seat next to Addie. Removing his wand and pointing it at his throat he said "Sonorus" and waited to see if he could feel anything. "I'M NOT SURE IF THIS SPELL WORKED OR NOT" John tried to say to Addie, unfortunately it was louder then usual. "Quietus" John said, once again. "Sorry" John said turning again to Addie. "Still, at least we know the spell works" John said, smiling weakly.
