Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? Fifth Year Posts: 181 Group: Slytherin Member #137 Joined: May 19 2007	Jake slid into class Jake sat next to Julian on the other side of Mascacra, who last night proved to be a worthy adversary and would come in handy when coming against Tristan and John and their group of blood traitors and mud bloods. Jake scribbled down the notes and took a green animal. Taking a breathe out Jake aimed his wand at the animal he said "Mutatio green" and watched as the animal turned a nice shade of green. Jake leaned to Julian "this subject is too easy" Jake smiled at his green animal.

Sixth Year Posts: 1,113 Group: Slytherin Member #135 Joined: May 8 2007	Jake raised his eyes in acknowledgment of Jake's arrival and watched with concealed surprise as he successfully cast the color change charm. He had assumed Jake to be muslce only, no brains. Yet he appeared to have as much as talent as himself. Pray he doesn't develop a god complex, he could be trouble. He made sure to keep an eye on Jake, prepared to step in should he get to far out of Julian's grasp. Julian pointed his wand at the lion cub in front of Mascacra, "Mutatio Black." The lion cub changed from an evil looking blood red to jet black, resembling a panther. He smirked at his successful casting of the charm, wishing they could learn something a little more powerful. But, knowing the Professor, he doubted the moron had ever cast an interesting spell in his life.

Looking about the classroom he spotted his school bag and decided to give it a try. "Mutatio Blue.," he said, clearly and with intent. The bag changed from a dull beige colour to a bright, electric blue. He grinned and exclaimed in delight. This is great! He had a question though, "Professor Mac? Can you only change the entire colour of an object, or can you be specific and make patterns and such?"

TBA Posts: 531 Group: External Citizen Member #29 Joined: Jan 9 2007	"Good question, Tristan, it depends, a very powerful wizard can change part of the object, this is where you find charms crosses over with Transfiguration, a good wizard can change the pupil, nose, mouth, eyes or any part of the body without changing the overall colour of the animal but it is very difficult and that sort of magic is well beyond the study done at Hogwarts, and for those interested yes I have completed those studies I don't think I would be teaching at this school if I didn't. However, for inatimate objects colors and paterns can be created on anything with any color. If you have finished with your work you can start on your homework for me which is the importance of incantation and wand movement in charms. Remember in Charms the emphasis is placed on the incantation whereas in Transfiguration the emphasis is placed on the wand movements. Make the essay at least 2 foot long and handed in to me by next lesson, which gives you plenty of time. I wouldn't grumble about it either, this is second year, the amount of essays you will be getting in your subjects is sure to increase" Mac said to his class. "But as you progress magic also gets more fun, until you become advanced enough to create your own spells" Mac said smiling gleefully at his class. He knew the invention of spells always caught the attention of his classes.

Posts: 2,756 Group: Ravenclaw Member #114 Joined: Mar 9 2007	He absorbed the Profess's words with rabid interest and was literally standing off his chair when he mentioned creating spells of his own. Tristan immediately pictured himself raining spell after spell of his own creation at his opponent in the World Championships. He smiled wistfully but the mention of homework placed a slight downer on his mood. Still, the idea of crossovers between Transfiguration and Charms sparked an interest in him and he wasn't dreading the idea of reseraching the topic.

Second Year Posts: 75 Group: Gryffindor Member #115 Joined: Mar 9 2007	Lavender soon realised that the classroom was filling up and after a few moments debate opted for the yellow box, she had always liked yellow: nice, bright, cheerful colour. Opening the lid cautiously, for she'd just seen a slytherin unearth a lion cub, she discovered a sombre looking grey toad which promptly ribbeted to announce it's presence. "Fun Fun" she muttered to herself with quiet sarcasm, then rolling back her sleeves and in a much clearer voice "mutatio blue..ah no yellow!" the result of her blunder was the toad starting to turn mauve, purple, indigo then suddenly spasm and flop onto it's slimy back now a putrid brown. Lavender was deeply embarrassed and determined to rectify her mistake... deep breaths lav "right" she prepared her wand: "mutatio yellow". To her relief the toad moved through colours again: turning from brown to a dark red, burnt orange, growing lighter and lighter till it was a bright sunny yellow albeit a little sick looking.

Julian needs a Devious Buddy (It's a proper noun trust me) BIC: Julian attempted the color change charm again on the lion cub, which surprisingly was quite tame. "Mutatio Red," jabbing his wand at the animal. It began to melt through the various colors, resting on the blood red once again. He nodded, satisfied he had mastered the spell, not that he had any doubts, and chose to sit back and talk with his fellow Slytherins instead.

She heard his question that he had asked her and she answered. "Why thank you....very much. Some people...." She ushered to some of the people around her, whom had trouble with her last year. She remembered all the memories, and chuckled to herself. "Don't appreciate the magic that lies even...beneath the soul for the greater cause, if you catch what I mean." She saw Julian change the colour of her lion to a dark black. Its fur seemed to shimmer from the light from the window to the side and gave a magical effect. She nodded, impressed, and said nothing more. She saw him change it back and looked away, examining her hand, every detail....every print on her finger.

He was curious to learn more about this Slytherin before opening up further; Julian was so used to the blood traitor Slytherin who converted after a few days that he wasn't eager to reveal more of himself to such a person.

She pointed her wand and waited for Tristan to ready himself. "I'll even give you a head start until it's halfway between the colours." The pair of them had done something similar the day they met, each casting a Levitation Charm on a rock and trying to wrench it from the other's grasp.

Her eyes glazed over a Ravenclaw boy whom she hadn't met. Ravenclaws are know-it-alls.....they get what they deserve.....suck-ups.... She covered her wand and hand with her sleeve of her Slytherin robe. She concentrated hard and darted her eyes around to see if anyone was looking. Seeing it was clear, she murmured some words. "Incendio...." She saw the tip of the Ravenclaw Boy's robe go aflame... "I believe his name's Tristan...."

The odd flicker of change could be seen every now and then but for the most part the bird stayed a sort of disgusting brown/ywllow colour. It looked horrible! She grit her teeth and focused all her energy into changing the raven back to black determined to beat her friend.

His mind was chanting inside his head, Blue...Blue...Blue yet he couldn't overpower her. The two struggled for a minute until something caught his attention. He sniffed the air and could smell something burning. And his feet felt a little hot..... He glanced down to his feet and saw the hem of his robes were on fire! He jumped up with a yell, stabbing the bird he was charming in the eye, and looked for soemthing to put it out. It wasn't just a small flicker of fire either; his robes were actually burning, on fire! The entire time he could feel the intense heat against the back of his legs, causing him incredible pain. He ripped his robe off and began to stamp on it frantically, desperately trying to put it out.

She looked at him with curiosity until she saw him frantically stamping on his robes which were ON FIRE! She jumped, wracking her brains for a spell to put them out but nothing came to mind. She decided to help him stamp on them and joined in. After a few minutes the robes lay on the ground in a heap, a smoldering, burnt mess. She looked at Tristan in horror, "If you hadn't been able to get them off, you'd have burns all over your body! Who did this?"

She saw the Ravenclaw boy finally turn around and figure out what was happening. Slow Ravenclaw? Wow.... She simply smirked as the boy was hopping around, trying to get the fire out. She then remembered the voice in her ear and narrowed her eyes, her idea zipping from place to place and finally settling on one. She whispered to herself. "Wingardium Leviosa..." Three text books came from the shelves, zipping right towards Tristan....

And like lightning he realised that someone must have caused this. He spun around the class looking for the culprit and his eyes came to rest on Julian. "You!" As he was about to strike Julian with a spell 3 books came flying into the side of his head. He spun about again, looking for his tatcker as he had been watching Julian when the books hit him. He noticed another Slytherin girl seated beside him, who was struggling to hold in laughter. "You? You attacked me? Who are you anyway?"

I don't know you....I would never attack people I don't know..." She touched her heart on her chest. "And blame me? Why? Now.....what about him?" She gestured to Julian. "What did he do to you? Why do you blame Slytherins for everything that goes wrong. You're prejudice, I tell you....." She was lying through her teeth, but sure didn't act like it. She put on the best act she could put on. Concealing her identiy was one of her pure talents.
