| Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice |
| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Daily Prophet Exam Pressure Affects Families Examinations for all students of Hogwarts and those schooled at home are placing added pressure on families as they attempt to prepare their sons and daughters for what can adequately be described as rigorous magical testing. The exams are designed to test students' abilities, sort out those who are performing well and those who aren't. However, some families are reporting that the stress is causing serious psychological trauma. "My daughter collapsed in tears whilst studying for her exams and threatened to leave home if we made her sit them. We had to take her to St Mungo's for a Calming Draught and, for added insurance, a series of Memory Charms to make her forget the stress. Unfortunately she also forgot most of what we had taught." Terrence Briggs (53) of London is quoted as saying. St Mungo's supports the claims by reporting a huge increase in stress related injuries. A member of staff released the following to the public: "St Mungo's has been inundated with students needing stress related treatment which we are happy to provide. However, any more requests for performance enhancing charms and we will close up for good!" Following these figures some are asking whether the current testing methods ought not to be changed to save families from falling apart and save students from worrying themselves into an early grave. Hogwarts Headmistress Bidelia Belleford was unavailable for comment. Jocasta Nu Ministry Release Details of Newly Discovered Spell The Ministry has released the details of a spell which has been in development for decades. The spell, called the Dark Detection Charm, is used to determine whether a wand has ever performed Dark Magic. Developer of the spell, Jerome Twiddle of the Department of Experimental Charms, explains the usefulness of the spell. "Current methods only determine whether the last spell performed was Dark or not. This spell will tell you whether Dark Magic has EVER been performed by the wand in question. Hopefully this will allow us to catch Dark Wizards and casual users of the Unforgiveables." The charm has been well received by the wizarding community, with families saying they now feel safer knowing people are more accountable for their actions, past and present. The incantation for the Dark Detection charm is ‘Sceleris' and is cast by tapping the target wand with one's own. "Simple, yet very effective." Twiddle states. Ricardo Enclave Sports Update Round three started with a bang as the winless Wasps and Puddlemore United squared off in the first match of the round. It was the wasps who came out on top in this encounter after seeker Albert Pemberton caught the snitch when the Wasps where 30 points up. For the Wasps, Brown had a stellar game scoring 8 of the 15 goals with Drummond getting 4 and Pettigrew scoring 3. While for the still winless Puddlemore, Melbart scored 6 out of 12 while Argog and O' Reilly scored 3 a piece. In what was an exciting game with lots of mistakes and turn overs, in what was a clash for the bottom of the table turned out just what the fans expected, a ugly, closely fought slog and at least it managed to bring temporary joy to one of the teams. In other games, the Bangers went down to the Cannons, who continue their winning run hammering the Bangers 400 to 220, Putinsky scoring a marvellous 15 of the 25 goals. Harpies also continued their winning run over the Wanderers, despite the brilliant keeping of Alexi Klinch whom kept all the Harpies shots on goals out but the Wanderers only managed to score 12 goals before Harpies seeker, Penelope Wright caught the snitch ending the game. The Tornadoes also kept their willing run up by beating the Bats. In other matches, the Arrows beat the Falcons, Magpies beat the Kestrals and the Pride of Portree scraped home over the Catapults.
